[Music] I was born on April 19th 1998 and I was born
with Erb's palsy which is a form of brachial plexus in my left shoulder and arm. Because
of my disability my parents put me in sports at a very young age and we found that track
and field was my best sport so I stuck with that from the age of 10 until now. I have been
competing with para-athletics since the age of 21 where I have now gone through three World
Championships and my first Paralympic Games was in 2020 for Tokyo and I am looking
to qualify for my next games for Paris. I've had to overcome having a disability
pretty much my entire life. My parents never let me use that as a clutch as to
not being able to do what I needed to do in my life but just always having to overcome
the adversity of always having to work a lot harder than my competitors and always just kind
of going through the physical therapy and the other things I've had to do in order to get the
mobility and range of motion back in my arm. A lot of different things keep me going, I
would definitely have to say my my family and my friends and then also being a
mentor to the younger athletes that I've been mentoring for a couple of years.
My goals are to to continue to push myself to my limits and I would like to break my
world record again and win gold in Paris. It has helped me a lot in terms of being able
to financially fund my sport and being able to fully invest in myself to be able to give my
all so that I can compete at the highest level
