we focus in on on mark nagasi for a second and this was a a play I think you know you and I discussed when he made a decision Around The rosters uh the switch to rugby league on a two-year deal at the end of this year um we our minds immediately jumped to well you know how does that leave him from a wab calculation at that point he was probably one of you know three or four wab players that came home from the world cup with his reputation intact and thought well hang on he's a player that's really some want to be excited about um had a tough Super Rugby season didn't he only scored the one try there the other week was dropped at one point during the year um and now you know you're in an environment where last week Joseph sui was named for the blues despite him in state of origin despite his switch later in the year and it appears at this stage that um Joe Schmidt isn't thinking the same about um Mark noer Nasi now clearly Joe Schmid's got a British and Irish lines series to prepare for next year and only I think about 13 tests before it so um it looks to be that decision as we understand it at the moment I mean is there a situation here I think you and I actually even mentioned this that you say well Mark well hang on let's not worry about you for Wales and and Georgia but you may come back into the the thinking during the rugby Championship because we've seen what you can do against those bigger nations in in World rugby um or do you feel that you know effectively Mary Mark now has a has a bit of red pen through him well that's what probably looks in the short term doesn't it if you if you take the facts that we have now you would probably have to say we haven't heard any explanation from Joe Schmid around probably the 16 players or so that have been asked to continue to train and the force players will head over to Sydney uh next week to continue to do so ctly Bill amongst them uh yeah I I think that he's had a pretty average year let's be let's be brutal about it like he hasn't reached the heights that we would have expected wabby one of the best wallabies over the last 18 months but he does have the capacity to elevate his game um he's also been playing a fair bit of out of out of position a fullback um he's definitely a Winger I think you know he's he's got a a great aerial presence um he has the ability to Chip and Chase and to play on a win a little bit but I I think you're probably right I think they have gone full the red line through these guys because if no n Hanan as well no Loy Swinton these guys like those two forwards in particular had actually had reasonable year Swinton his most consistent year by a long way so I think it probably sets out the vision that the end goal here for over the next two years is the lion series isn't it so they've got to get that right you've got to get your planning right uh so yeah but I I would be open to that idea of him coming back I think it makes complete sense I think these are test matches that you expect to win against Wales and Georgia on a home soil
