as mentioned I have my brother here I know him as Chandler most people know him as Chad my kids know him as Uncle C but Chandler thank you so much for coming in today thanks for having me yeah we are coming off a weekend a long weekend actually a like six days four of which had children two of which did not which was nice but I do feel like when you don't have children you tend to indulge a little more and you don't get the rest you really need definitely more tired from the two days without kids than the four days with kids exactly which is surprising because Chad has three kids right now four and under um tell them their names and their ages real quick Penelope wri and Presley angels of My Life um Penelope is four Wright is three Presley is a year and a half yes so I feel like it is always somewhat chaos in your house yeah well yeah we're at that age I mean hands on deck can't leave him alone I know they play with each other but still you have the boy in the middle see that's tough when you have all the girls they do play together but when you have that stubborn boy right dab in the middle that can make it tough for the other two AG so but you know what I do I always tell you this I think it's so much better to have them it's hard at the beginning to have them back to back to back to back but then when they get to a certain age and they're all with each other I feel like it makes it so much easier and then maybe we'll discuss again when high school comes along and they're all in high school together which we'll get into because we were in high school together um your lovely wife Rose who is a sister-in-law from Heaven um I mean I literally could go probably a whole podcast talking just about her um but she is I don't know I she's special to me because she deals with you she's very sweet very easy going my God doesn't complain nothing nothing ever Bo bothers her and to be honest she deals with you and then she deals with me and then she deals with Jenny and dad and mom she it's kind of like her and Matthew are yes similar energy we take up all the energy yeah and they just get in when they can fit in I know they're like I think Matthew was it the other night we were uh we were sitting at the dinner table and it was my parents were also in town for a little bit of this uh trip and it was us to our parents Rose and Matthew and Matthew got up and was like I don't think I said a single word all dinner do you remember that and I was like no it's like my goal is not to say a single word but somebody asked me a question well I can't remember what the question was and he gave a onewed answer cuz I remember I go no you talked you answered that question he goes yeah that was the only word I said guys we do we're we're a louder family I mean I not louder we just have big Personalities in our family um and growing up that was very apparent as well and I've talked about you on multiple other podcasts but you played tell everyone like the sports you played growing up in in high school don't go all the way when you were younger um I I did I did three football basketball baseball those the ones I grew to love um what positions did you play in each of those Sports uh High School quarterback and safety on football Short Stop in baseball then point guard and basketball Okay so I feel like people listening to this he was like the big guy on campus not big statue eyes love you though uh but he was known like everyone knew who Chad Hall was that went to our school because he played the three like most important positions on every team um and so following that was not ideal but you know it's okay I did my best um and then you went to college you went to the Air Force Academy tell everyone why you ch is that um yeah I mean I think just like Dad told you and Jenny growing up um you get a scholarship you pay for school you get a car I remember him telling me that when I was probably six years old and so that was always the goal and it was which sport could I get a SC actually baseball is probably my best sport but football is my love and um ended up the only division one scholarships I had were all the acmis yeah I was going to go to Vanderbilt they offered me and then they you know you know how they do it they took it away about a year or a week before Signing Day so then I just had the acmy it was all for quarterback and um Air Force I didn't know anything about the military Air Force was the most lenient and they were also the best yeah they call it the chair Force so I didn't I didn't I want to get to go on the front line or being a submarine for 6 months oh my God that's what they tell you though so I you know 17 18 years old you really but 9/11 had just occurred a couple years before so there's a lot more I mean you were prepared to go yeah so did it make you want more so like when you were at the Academy did it was it like more fulfilling because it was like kind of this patriotism that always is there but obviously after an event like that occurs it's just bigger like did that affect your decision in going there or did you feel it while you were there I mean it probably you know open my eyes a little more to the whole situation like and you you become part of it yeah and um you know all my all my buddies there like after going through it it's you know we have a different Viewpoint everyone should serve their country in some way you know we have it it was just really fulfilling it's it's for a higher purpose yeah so um I'm surprised you got through it I'm not going to lie yeah me too me too what after after the first six weeks of basic training I was out of 1500 Cadets top five in Dem merits they didn't tell me where I fit in but yeah I what do you get Dem merits for at the Academy like not making your bed everything everything your uniform being out of line yeah your bed being your room you know not marching the right way I could not imagine you yeah after knowing you in high school to transfer to that immediately I mean I do remember the one story of uh what was it like they put out like a not a newsletter but didn't they like send something home yes and didn't it tell the story about you or like how did we hear that story do you remember it was yeah I remember Mom or Dad being like yeah they had this funny story about someone eating dinner and spilling rice and their steak all over the place I was like Mom that was me but the funny part which most people don't know yeah is long story short it was steak we were excited you can only Chew in six bites so you have to I'm sorry yeah six bites every every time you put something in your mouth and if they count more than six then it goes to five for the whole table yeah try to do it try to do it just try to take a bite and even six bites but like why is that for timing purpose everything's everything is discipline wasn't it okay and then I want you get back to the story wasn't it like if you wanted a condiment if you wanted ketchup or something you wanted ketchup you had to memorize the bar code and it was thick bar thin bar bar space thin bar thin bar medium bar you had to memorize the whole thing sitting at attention and then if someone could do it then you could use ketchup mustard whichever one you wanted for the rest of the time for the rest of the space just for the rest of the meal which was only probably about oh just the meal then you had to do it again do it again and I'm guessing when you're feeding 1500 cadetes I mean I'm not g to say you don't you probably needed some ketchup every now and then on the food you know I didn't wor about the condiments I was just trying to eat as much as I can in six fights in six fights okay so you're sitting that how many people are at your table sorry this story I love this story so there's one Cadre and then nine Cadets so the halfway through the six weeks I was ending up sitting at a table with seven Cadre and three Cadets so what's a codre like there's the people in charge okay so that that just meant the the numbers were dwindling like people just didn't make it through basic training no I was just at the special table you were in the trouble table so I really didn't get to eat much at all okay so anyways cutting the steak little bites I I was just I was sitting right next to the Cadre he was at the head cut it some of my rice spilled almost on his plate oh what you doing I said up at attention sir may make a statement what Hall sir I can't cut my meat cuz my meat is so hard and then everyone like I'm just locked in right I don't even know what I'm saying but I need to you know everyone like starts almost spitting out their food I'm like what and he goes oh not another word I go okay so I go I take a scoop of rice I go what can't cut my meat cuz my meat is I L I spit all my rice all over he stands up we all stand up no one else can eat for the rest of the time oh my back to the C wait okay so while this is happening everyone is kind of realiz I mean I love this story so this story is also written in this like newsletter that's sent home and Mom and Dad are like yeah this really because you can't talk to anyone right for the six weeks so we are no communication with my brother just letters and that comes home and we I mean turns out it it was you that was about but you know what I just I I'm so proud of you for making it through that and so proud of you for so many other things all right y'all this summer I pledged to myself that I was going to be a better person when being hosted by others and bringing morninga you know the move from the Air Force obviously was in was the goal correct always also resorting back dad never told me that if I got a scholarship I would get a car so that's some [ __ ] he told me either had to play a sport in college or get a job and I was like okay I'm going to play a sport so screw well he told me that and I really didn't get a car until I graduated that was nice though you didn't need a car really did you no I didn't yeah okay no that was a big deal from that was huge pops got me a Hyundai aera it was awesome had that car for like 10 years you did have that car forever I forgot about that thing yeah I remember Randy Moss when we played in the Super Bowl he told me right before the Super Bowl he was like he's like yo I'm going to hit up Kanye before you after the superow I go what do you mean he goes you know the song One the Super Bowl drove off in a Hyundai I'm gonna get him to get you another car damn you didn't win damn I don't and like if people don't know but we'll get there so College Air Force Academy then you um transferred over to the NFL worked both for quite or worked for the Air Force County for two years because they wouldn't let you out then which I'm again the fact that you proceeded to work out every day while also being I'm so sorry this is terrible what were you you were a aircraft maintenance officer well I knew that but like what is your oh I was second Lieutenant second liutenant um in charge of a lot of a lot of people and so pretty impressive that you're able to keep your training up for 2 years and then go try out for tell us about that um yeah I I went to I was stationed in Salt Lake City at Hill Air Force Base um 421st black widow Squadron so cool shout out um but uh I ended up going to the University of Utah prod day which was right there you're able to if you're serving you can go to the prod day wherever you're serving and um had a great day and the Eagles called me the next day flew me me up and had a little private workout and got signed I mean so it happened really fast like yeah two years of like you're saying work 12-hour days every other weekend train I was I was The Biggest Loser from 22 to 24 years old I didn't take a day of leave so then I had it all on the back end and then after they signed me then for those three months I was working um really in at Hill Air Force Base from Thursday afternoon till Sunday midday day fly out Sunday night and then I was with Philly from Monday morning till Thursday at noon and then I'd fly back I did that for three months just start I mean I wouldn't say you're I mean Biggest Loser no biggest winner yes because the fact that you were able to do that I mean just for two years consistently trying to keep a dream alive that was taken not taken away because I think you know people will say that if you go to theis and it's what taxpayers money pay for your school so that way you should uh serve so I I get I get the whole thing but the fact that you kept your other dream alive is so impressive to me um and we are going to get to some stories about Matthew and you but before we do that now you're a coach in the NFL and I like the difference can you name like two major differences you played you played for six years four four I cut my fifth four years and then you transferred into coaching can you tell us like two main differences when it comes to those it's still in the NFL you played in the NFL you coach in the NFL you played receiver in the NFL you're coaching receiver in the NFL like name me two differences between those jobs and which one you like better okay good question and first back to the dreams I did I mean even serving for those two years and I mean we were we were in F-16 Squadron every six months we were um we would to Afghanistan I didn't you don't really go to your first lieutenant but I mean that was a dream in itself too just seeing that whole process it was amazing watching the troops come home to their families oh was so special but um wow yeah and then living the uh got to play that was a dream and now coaching's a dream but the I mean the biggest difference is the time yeah um as a player I mean you're the talent right you're you're your own LLC however your body is is how how how whether you're available or not so so much goes into it but it's so much about you it is about the team yeah but you have to control and be your best self so the team you know everything's the same you're always goes your weakest link so yeah it's more focused on you right it's it's it's everything's about you and as a coach like now all I try to do is try to get them to believe and then get them to be the best they can be yeah um you know through their technique and everything like that but I would say the biggest difference really is as a player you're there from eight to Four Tops yeah um and that's on Wednesday Thursday then Friday it's 8 to one and then Saturday day off kind of Sunday game yeah as a coach it's seven days a week seven days a week you know I get in there at 5: from Monday to Thursday and then yeah Monday to Thursday it's 5: to probably about 9 or 10 at night and then Friday is our time we get to see our family we get off at 1:30 Saturday we're traveling usually if it's a away game it's home it's shorter you get to hang out with the family too and then Sunday game yeah so for seven months it is a grind you're rolling yeah and no weekends no seven days a week seven months basically and you don't get the offseason that players get either like you are no once they're done or you know loseing the playoffs or lucky enough to win the Super the next day you have a meeting then players are gone and you're and you're still working coaches now were buttoning up the season then we start evaluating all the draft guys oh my gosh so it's just I mean it's it's completely different um I would say like TimeWise I look at your wife as just a a blessing because she is so patient and and also just so good about understanding um I'm not going to lie it would be really tough for me to be married to someone who was gone seven months out of the year um especially if I had three kids uh four and under um but you know I know you guys make it work I um I also want to say something like you I feel like those players are really lucky to have you before you say anything cuz I know you'll try and say no no um they have a unique aspect or a unique coach just because you played that position you you were in the game um and to be honest you're what you look like and I love you but you're 5'7 you are 5'8 go with cleats okay yeah 5'8 with cleat um it it it's going to take you a lot more to get into that NFL position than a guy who 65 um and so I think they're looking at you going well this guy played for four years like if he's telling me I can do this this this like there's a belief there and I mean you're it spoke volumes when your Buffalo receivers went out and bought you a new car I mean I love how that's like the common thing people want to buy you new cars because you do run your cars into the ground so um it was like yeah Chad definitely needs a new car and they went out and bought bought you a Ford Raptor I mean it is just you're good you're like you treat them like family which is I I always try and go back to especially on this podcast like the relationships you have with the people that are close to you whether it's work or not you want to embody like this like family style relationship where because then the trust goes up I feel like it's a better working Dynamic and I feel like you do that in your receivers room like you're always having them over for cookouts um and I don't know many coaches that do that and I feel like we've moved around and I do think coaching too that's another thing that people don't understand you guys get moved around a lot your team's not good usually the quarterback doesn't go the coaches go that's very true yeah and we saw that a lot in Detroit and you know that's I couldn't imagine just picking up and leaving you were lucky to have Buffalo for six years you coached there for six years um and now Jacksonville this is your year two oh gosh like year two or year three um so I mean I do feel like you are a unique coach and I know there's other coaches that played obious our o line coach you who you've known uh that coached with you in buff Buffalo he played so there's just like a unique side to it if you've been in the game and I think there's like a trust Factor learning from someone who's been out there before and understands like the pressure and what it can feel like if you mess up and I do love that tell tell everyone like if guys mess up on Game Day vers mess messing up on practice something I love about you yeah I mean back from the beginning the relationship is the only reason I do it I mean you're You're gone from your family your loved ones who's the most important thing to me for seven months out of the year so it's my second family that's how I tell them yeah um but I you you're right if if you've been there done that the coaches who have played it's the hardest thing to do is to create this trust in this bond with the players I mean it takes time yeah um but at least that part of it they're going to listen to you faster because they know you've been there know you've done that and like you're saying the little things about like again when I said earlier like mentally making them believe because there is so much pressure so much pressure whether you like it or not on you I mean it's the most watch sport when it you know when a play comes your way you either got to make it or not so it's how quick you can reset cuz at the end of the day everyone's great so um you're going to mess up nobody's perfect but how quick can you reset and get your mind ready to roll but that's the big like game Monday my my kind of motto for our guys is Monday through Saturday we're the hardest working group in the NFL no one's got out work us we can control that so that's a mental Advantage but then Sunday we party yeah I love that that's what I say sun like nothing can go wrong on Sundays yeah something does forget about it move on to the next yeah I mean I'll be I'll be one of the first ones I usually in practice something goes you know they drop past excuse me I usually say [ __ ] it like in front of everyone so everyone knows like yeah who gives a [ __ ] yeah so it's just you know because it is it's at the receiver position and most most positions I mean you have to have crazy confidence yeah well I would say like you Dr I I I mean I could only imagine you are out there you drop a ball and it's not just you who's like it is like the entire fan base like H and you feel it and so for them to come off the field and have a coach lay into them it's they already they already know yeah um so I I mean I love that about you because I not all coaches do that and everyone every coach has their own way but I do feel like that's huge because there's a lot these are young guys at the end of the day like most guys that are in this league are in their 20s that's young and I just feel like it can really I mean we always talk about Mental Health on this podcast and I know men are probably shy away from it a bit but guarant all those young kids have some type of something in their head going oh man I can't I can't drop it because I I'll get cut I'll or everyone will hate me I'll get bashed on social media and with all those things in your head how do you even think about catching the ball when you go out there you know so true that's what that's part of having these guys over creating a family like I almost try to make them be a little bit vulnerable but then I mean it's just like when the seals Navy Seals go off and trained for 6 months away from their families everything it's so they do they eat sleep train Blood Sweat tears all these sacrifices so then when the bullets are flying they don't think about you're just more willing to sacrifice yourself for somebody else somebody it's just quick right same thing on the football field what are you going to do for him down the road yeah so I think this is I mean I think I already know the answer but obviously do you think your military training has made you a better coach for sure I mean the whole every detail matters there's something to it I mean yeah it's the best most powerful our military organization in the whole world like why because every single thing matters yeah it's like so yeah like you're saying everything is detailed to like the the second exactly and most of that stuff is a lot of mental preparation which is again in our room I say dominate the controllables another controllable so that's really the only time they're going to hear me is if you know mentally they mess up because they don't know you're screwing up everybody and that's something that you just didn't spend enough time on doing I kind of love that you do that because you know as a quarterback wife when receivers wrong the Run route and Matthew throws a pick I'm like what the [ __ ] was that like where were you throwing the ball and turns out there might have been a receiver who ran a wrong route so that's a mental thing that they could have controlled um did you ever play Matthew when you were in League against him I think in a preseason game Mayon okay that and I honestly it's crazy I don't remember that I know but I don't remember but if it was it was a preseason game it wasn't a real game okay and then you've obviously coached a bunch or not a bunch but coached against him quite a few times which I always love um because there's not really a loser right so somebody wins so we're happy for somebody um what was it the last time it was Buffalo right the first game of the season our and we did not but you won so I was happy for you y'all who a little bit of some of the stuff listeners kind of asked out your first impression of Matthew I mean honestly I mean I've told him the first time I met him he was hanging out with a guy named Fred msen me who played fullback at Georgia and I was coming from Air for I didn't really know I honestly didn't even know what Matthew looked like I just you know had heard about him we told that story right yeah where you got me in trouble with Dad yeah I mean I don't know about how I got you in trouble I'm pretty sure you called dad some people were calling me okay so I just wanted people calling me dad somehow dad found out so how I mean it seems like well how did Mom find out I think I probably told Mom okay there we go all right and moving on um but Matthew is with Fred monire full back at Georgia and I didn't know what Matthew looked like didn't know and you know Matthew's a big dude and he was bigger back then bigger back then you know he had the Freshman 50 on yeah he was a sophomore but it's fine yeah no that was the first time I met him it was at a pool and I just I just remember him pool that's right yeah I forgot about that and um I'm just glad I was just gave him a second chance just like I wasn't you know I didn't know most people so luckily you know CU you know us we're we're pretty talkative pretty social but you know I was just kind of back listening and finally someone said Matthew to him and I was like oh [ __ ] I was literally just about to ask himim do you play fullback with with Fred he did kind of look like a fullback so I didn't but that was that was my first that was that was when I met him yeah he was great very nice to me very quiet yeah um which most people would say until you know him but um he was great he was I mean Matthew's been the same person from the day I met him till today I know he hasn't changed he's just he's he's so smart so clever so funny I told him the other day when we woke up I go you know Matthew your most funny time is if we ever have to wake up early from like 5:00 a.m. to 7: a.m. yeah he's so funny he's got a lot of energy at that point I don't know how he wakes up that is like the most energized human at 5:00 a.m. like everyone else it takes like an hour to like get to that point oh no he like but now come at him at noon he's done for the day yeah he's kind of like out of his witty jokes like I started early um um no he he is funny I remember it a little differently um but that's okay I remember you and Jenny who is my sister which we should say that you guys know Jenny though we've talked about her before she's our older sister um you guys giving me lots of hell because Matthew is quiet and he's not like us and he was very quiet that whole weekend you were there and I remember Jenny being like what like he doesn't he doesn't even want to find the time to get to know us and meanwhile I do remember her saying that yes meanwhile I don't think Matthew and I were officially together at this point I don't think so either I don't think so yeah because yes we were not um and so it like broke my heart because obviously I wanted y'all to like him so much and you did it was just like very typical of someone who is a little more on the shy side and also we weren't officially together so to meet the family but I had met his so that's not very fair but I'm obviously a little more talkative so I just remember being so I we were sitting on a bench in Athens I'll never forget it after a bar and Jenny was like laying into him and I was or laying into him about him not into him um and I was so sad and I remember you all leaving soon after that and I was just like well I guess I'll just have to you know keep my options open and not not that that I honestly Matthew wasn't even really an option then anyways because he was like yeah I'm not doing relationships I was like [ __ ] you um this is true but um so first impression quiet now the impression funny I mean I love y'all's relationship I feel like um you guys get it's like the brother you kind of never had in him and him too which is nice no we get along great it's very easy we're into the same things you know yeah but yeah I mean now I wonder what would say but I do remember her saying that and I think jinny's just like protective and yeah yeah I think you're right yeah what if she wanted more what like going in yes as did I right she wanted what I wanted yeah she wanted she wanted more for you yes um the speaking of being protective would you say in high school you were so I was a freshman while Chad was a senior in high school and like I said Chad was like the Big Man on Campus and here I am this little freshman um and I'm Chad Hall's little sister and would you say that you were a little more protective when I was in high school because I remember one story in particular um I don't think so I think because our age difference you know freshman senior there's not especially our small school I don't I don't know I don't like if if we would have been closer I think I would have been a lot more okay I remember one time I when I was in high school you were in middle school and somebody you know said something like you're as flat as my back or something oh I was yeah and it got to me and I remember me and old Mike Pope going down there I forget whether it was Gosset or somebody but yeah we got into him a little bit and that's all that's that was I didn't know you did that yeah oh I do love you thank you you're welcome you also blocked me from going to prom yeah I mean I just I mean that kid is you know he was a little bit of a clown and I thought was doing it more to with me which it would have your senior prom I was not supposed to be there that was the right call but you but I did get asked and then I got denied by my brother of going because I think I did say yes to that true I mean fast forward I I mean if I you know more mature I would have loved to have you go it would have been fun I was just young back then no I know and honestly I would have been really out of place and if it was a different person I probably would have been like less party but I just knew that do you though maybe I I don't know I thought the kid that asked me was very nice he's he was really nice he's just a clown okay great athlete okay do you have any embarrassing story of me that you remember that was a listener's question if not it's okay and you can take embarrassing stories of you yeah like did I do ever do anything embarrassing that was like I know I was pretty perfect I agree there not much embarrassing about me you're pretty good what about now what about when you read [ __ ] are you like oh man oh yeah I mean you know I I I don't believe most of it or you know there's always a story so it's just like the more no whenever I hear it it's usually I don't read it because I'm not on social media or anything someone tells me so usually obviously depending on what it is hits you up to make sure you're okay but then I always I always also think of Matthew I know I know I know he you know what only is sports related though yeah at first at first I feel like he was kind of like H you know just annoyed that he would have to hear anything but now I feel like he's not he doesn't obviously love when it's about sports but now when he hears stuff he's like I mean yeah what did she actually say okay well then let's move on yeah like this is ridiculous agre um and so I appreciate y'all's patience with me in that um I have some embarrassing stories of you though that I would like to tell if you're okay with that the first one being you have a little boy now I do and he is a replica of Chad righty boy replica I'm talking Chad had this very high voice when he was young and was just all over the place my mom always said she was like by the time I got to you I was just too tired was too tired from Chad and so by the time I got to you like I would I got got away with so much not got away cuz I told her what I was doing I would be like Mom I'm sneaking cuz you would just sneak out and get caught and she her brain was just her head was tired after you so I come along and I had it pretty good I'm like hey Mom she'd be like hey if you're going to sneak out just tell me just come tell me let me know and then let me know when you get there okay like I'm I'm too tired at this point and so I would I walk in i t and I make sure Dad didn't hear be like I'm sneaking out she's like okay just you know let me know you and she just let me know when you get where you're going um maybe if she said that to me I would have told her no you wouldn't have because it wasn't very often I was doing it okay yeah you probably yeah so anyways my brother we this is actually one of the first times Matthew met our entire family we went to the Atlantis and we had a really good time it was for one of my uncle's weddings and Matthew again this is his first time meeting my entire family and my dad has so many brothers and they're all wild like they this is where we I would say get the hall energy and personalities is definitely from that side of the family so anyways we all show up and we at one point of this trip see these security guards like Sprint and Atlantis is big but seeing these sprinting back and forth on their radios like did you get them did you get them and I'm like wow something's going on later on I find out through who who caught y'all on the elevator is it Aunt re aunt reie who's how old she had to be like in her 80s she was in hers 80s she was old she pushes the elevator button to go I don't know down to the casino and the elevator door opens and what does she see she sees two bare ass butts in the air they had stripped naked and laid face down you and chip chip air okay we'll just we'll throw him out there chipad there who is like an uncle yes he's not a child no you were a child so not a child but you were what were you 20 early 20s early 20s so butt ass naked in in the air and so anytime anyone pressed the elevator button the doors would open and they would see two Paar naked asses and so all yes of course this is a family establishment so people security is getting called they're running around looking for Chad and my uncle then my aunt reie is like oh you go the casino she presses the button elevator's open and she what did she say it dings and so me and Chip are like almost vibrating like laughing you know and then we hear chip Chad is that you we just let it close then it just closed and then you went to the next floor how many floors did this happen I don't I think I mean I think we probably only did that twice okay that makes me feel better yeah because I think the first time and then reie did the second time I think that's that was it okay this it blows my mind and then of course Matthew then we hear it's you and Matthew's like what in God's name is this family like what do you mean they were naked on the elevator I was like well they were face down he was like oh like that was his first taste into the hallside of the family then not well actually I'm not going to tell the story but that at that Atlantis trip really if Matthew stayed with me after that I was like yeah we're getting married like if you can handle all of this and still love me afterwards we're good that's also where he told me he loved me the first time after y'all's Casino trip with the fire hydrant people yes oh I was so mad so good find I yeah it was okay good find by Jenny yes so yes they want a bunch of money off of somebody else basically yeah we'll say that like a bunch of money the fire extinguisher family was there yes they and they have was on Mon yeah jinny used it to Advantage not used it but like was betting for them at this point and then when she would win they would give her some of the winnings but they were betting a lot of money so not only did jinny win a lot but Chad win a lot and Matthew win a lot and I had left cuz I had morals and I was like these people are gross not gross but these people I I don't like what we're doing here I don't like the feeling and I had won dad gave me $100 I had won three grand and I was like hell yeah I'm the winner in this group I'm going home I'm going to bed I was so mad at you and Matthew for letting this go on so well no I was just standing next to Jenny rooting her on and then the son was like hey hey what's your brother you know he was trying to get me out of the way oh so he gave you money to go gamble literally I'm talking we're talking about fire extinguisher family son he gave me $15,000 oh my God I mean I'm early 20s oh he goes yeah your sister says you're good at Blackjack go over there and play I'm not kidding so I treated those like they were $10 chips so I was using $1,000 chips like they were $10 they won mine it had to be 3 minutes maybe less I turned 15 into 29 oh my go brought it back to him he gave me seven I was in the Air Force at the time I mean that was huge yeah well you had also broken a window at the time that you had to pay for so thank goodness that's in the Atlantis you owe the Atlantis I checked out they said you have a $4,000 T tab I said do you take cash and do you take chips lesie my mom was just she was cross-eyed she had no idea what happened but we were good yeah you guys of course every of course I chose to to go to bed in that moment but I was so proud Matthew comes back and he had won a bunch of money and I was or I was he goes how much did you win he's like trying to be nice and I was so mad and he was like how much did you I was like I won three grand I was like how much did you win he was like 12 I was like what the [ __ ] I was like how did you win $12,000 he was like Well turns out I'm really good at gambling someone else's money I like what in the world and then he proceeded to tell me he loved me I was like this is not the time you are so he was like just because I'm drunk doesn't mean I don't know it I'm like I can't do this right now if you love me you can tell me in the morning turns out he told me in the morning and what he told me in the morning was Chad I figured out what to do at the casino I go what's that he goes find the richest person there and just gamble with their money and I looked at him I was like I'm gonna find you every time bro you're like I love that too and I do love that I love that he just you know he was very newly it was his first year right he just signed or he hadn't even played yet right he hadn't played that was the summer he hadn't gotten he had got paid he hadn't had any money so he literally no he did get paid cuz he was yeah yeah no he got paid cuz my dad was we were L cuz he had signing bonus remember back then it was I know but I don't think he had gotten it yet because Dad gave him a hundred bucks remember he lost it quick I know and he was very upset about that that's why he went to go he went to go sit at the high rollers table because of the fact he was so upset that he lost $100 and he was like I need to go watch someone lose more money than $100 and I was like okay to me that was a lot too I was like yeah good sorry sorry I'm I'm crushing over here so I'm going to stay and then I walk over smart he found the guy oh my gosh but I love that Matthew Stafford fan yes and he was so that was that was fun for you guys not so much for me isn't it funny how we go from the jam-pack Summers to now back in school but now you have school and after school activities with your kids and it just seems like the schedule never lets up but self-care is non-negotiable I think we've talked about this on this podcast enough you've got to take care of yourself to know that your family and kids are okay this is why I never skip therapy this is why I love better help it's convenient it's on my time the therapist is amazing in fact I had to you know go through a few therapists until I that therapy session never skip therapy day with betterhelp visit betterhelp.com morning after today to get 10% off your first month that's better help HP /m morninga um your embarrassing story real quick real quick okay it was our first it was our first July 4th party out of our 10 and um we're out there with two ski boats you know Kelly they all went you know Matthew there's a couple of them they went to ug party school you know they party with us you guys are animals yeah Air Force guys so that's what they Air Force Academy guys long story short we my best friend from high school Mike Pope came out there he was the only sober one there was a jet ski next to us Kelly was didn't know where she was so it was tough it was a tough day it was Mike Pope Kelly I'm on the back I was very hold on I was very nervous cuz Matthew was there and this is when Matthew mom Matthew met mom and dad for the first time yeah I mean it was yeah so I was drinking my I was got it I was very nervous okay continue well you did great yeah totally then we go back on this jet ski and it I mean it must taken us 30 minutes but being a being an older brother good brother I thought I should get her back home safely but the best part was we pull up to the Cove my dad's on the top of the of the dock and he looks down he goes oh man somebody got initiated he that was his response to Kelly V not even been able to lick her do you not remember what happened when you put me on the golf cart yes zun Dad dad was like I'll take her off take her up in the golf cart this is like our uh the company's our parent our dad's company's lake house and he was like we'll put up on the golf cart to take her up and he puts me on the golf cart in the back like like where there's nothing yeah facing backwards I don't know why he did that and he floors it and I just fly off like Dad I got her all the way here you're just going to throw her in the soil but I think to be honest I think I lasted how long out there for for the first Fourth of July an hour it was quick no more than that but okay that makes me feel a little better okay you know what we had some good times okay one more and then I we got to keep moving on but this is the one I want to talk about with your little boy um righty boy because I could absolutely see him doing this and Mom reminded me of this story but you were maybe seven and maybe six and you were playing in little league and they rotated the best player from short to second to center field I think uhhuh and you were playing I maybe it was short I don't know and people kept hitting the ball and you would run it to the first base and here he goes running it my mom for the last time was like Chad throw the ball to First Bas and Chad turned around and looked at her and said I'm not throwing it cuz he can't catch it my mom was like so my mom calls time out this is a very me move so now you're seeing the similarities okay calls timeout the UMP looks at the um she's not a coach by any mean she is a mom she's like time out she walks onto that field and Chad runs away she is chasing Chad all over this little big field you like hop the fence and you're gone and do you remember what your coach said no no Mom told me this which is really good mom was like like finally you were at least off the field and so she like walked out and it was coach Brewer I don't remember who it was he goes he's going to come back and play though right like like we need him my mom was like no all right y'all fall is finally here football is back but you know what I've noticed is I feel like I was wearing my hair in ponytails or in braids cuz it was so hot I've noticed the to wear and tear on my hair because of that and I started to really get back on my neutr cuz I wanted again to be this healthier thicker hair and I really felt when I was on nutriful it was incredible um so I'm back on it feeling the benefits already nutriful is the number one dermatologist playing I mean I could just I could see this H like I could see Rose rose would never stop a game but I could see R Rose be like Ry boyy I need you to throw it to first place please stop and I could see him go no he can't catch mom not throwing him the ball for sure and it be just now she would never run on the field out to him but you might have to I would yeah I I really love that story I feel like I don't know it tells it like gives a little insight to our family and how we we ran how we did things I think I was stuck in the Outfield not in the Outfield of that game but like over the fence just enjoying slushy and Snickers because what else was I supposed to do I was I was literally dragged around with you and Jenny my whole but you know what I got PA Park's an easy place to par I I know when you're little it's a lot of sweets though which I loved but like looking back at it I'm like there's where my sugar addiction started um so there's that you know we still got both we both of us still have that I know see that's a real thing people don't think it's a real thing it's a real thing like I mean Jenny can't get off of coke not not not the not the white Coke but you know the drink Coke class yeah Coca-Cola thank you Kira um I'm stuck on Diet Coke which is even worse for you but like you know I've grabbed the Swedish fish you grabb the chocolate it's just you it's tough uh so tough but uh we're working on it okay um I want to get into a little bit about Rose and then we're gonna do some rapid fire okay let's go so Rose tell like what your I mean I there's so many but if you could name one favorite thing about Rose what would it be how long have you been married now sorry since 2018 2018 okay so a little over six years yeah um the best thing about Rose there's so many but she's just got everything together which moms we Tred three under four like it is a y'all are special people like I couldn't do it there's no chance for seven months of the year I see my kids twice a week which is hard enough me but I'm just saying for her but she just has everything together nothing rattles her nothing she her her patience her ability to just figure everything out in a stressfree way in front of it's crazy it is crazy like she and the best and another good thing is she just like I know people say this but she makes me better MH like in every way mhm and she not only does she make me better but she like demands it a little bit so it's not like just saying it it's like no I need this this and and I and I'm like yeah that's that's yeah cuz she knows know I and then you think about it's like yeah anyway yeah but um she really is such a good mom and you know I love how you you gave moms a shout out which I love you for that but she's kind of a single mom she's like a single parent yeah for seven months for sure so to have everything together and do it in such a calm manner I just watch her like I am not calm I am the opposite and so to watch her there's a lot of things that I see in her that I like want to instill in myself and again like when you guys leave this weekend or this after this trip I feel like there's some things I'm just going to write down that she does so well and that I could really use to just like help my stress levels like my stress gets really high and I I don't I don't single parent like her and I just feel like she the way she talks to her children the way or y'all's children not hers your children um is such in a in a way that kind of Matthew does too like it is hey this is this is what you did wrong this is how we can change it and this is what we're going to do about it until like we can figure like it's just the way she does it all is very impressive um and I know you know you it's probably demanded of her a little bit she's kind of got to be both parents she's got to to be Stern and um you know patient which is really tough but she does it really well yeah she's so good and like with the kids if it's something minuscule or something like I try to control everything and she's like just let them have it that means that do there's there's nothing to that yeah um they're so young too y'all are so young yeah and patience is like the number one thing when they're so young and I'm so patient with the girls but you know right I know I can't I don't have a boy so I can't talk on that yeah I mean they're he's so freaking cute though all your kids are so beautiful um all right favorite thing about being a dad just those just the relationships you have with your kids I know I love every stage like you know PE I mean the only stage I really haven't I don't appreciate much is like Z to 6 months like I feel like we talked about that guys it's tough yeah we can't do like we help but it's like yeah but every other stage and I've taken you know the first one's crazy right second one was like you have two but now I've enjoyed Presley my youngest from six months to a year and a half more than I thought I enjoyed the other two you're just like everything slows down a little bit and I just take every single part of their life and try to make like it the last time I'm going to get this who knows who knows when pel P this might be the last time she asked to meet so I like am very aware of all that so I um I try to make the most of every moment with them it gets hard and I'll tell you a seven-year-old and I can't I can pick up chain learn s but it's tough it's not easy for me anymore and I'm kind of sad about it like when they ask me to carry them and they get tired like they're still seven and they're like my first baby so I'm like they're like Mommy will you carry me I'm like oh God like uhhuh let me let me just stretch my back out real quick I got to the back set the back I know set the core um but it is sad cuz it can be one day it will be your last and I try I do try and remember that because I feel like I flew through the first three Tyler I felt was kind of like your Presley where um and she was a little more spread out than the older three which like spread out for me is not very spread out but um and so I felt like I had time to enjoy her her more but man I also like really failed a parenting her too so there's that she's as you've learned a lot um but you know it is what it is this episode is brought to you by Progressive Insurance hey y'all whether you rapid fire now which is kind of fun do are you going to ask this and we're going to answer at the same time or am I asking him to answer why don't we do that that'll be fun okay but look at each other when you answer okay we'll do like one two three okay I'll just do this yeah one two answer okay one two answer okay love it all right here we go don't think just just point should we say Chad or Kelly so it's not like me I know we don't sound alike but I would say point at yourself or at each other okay right oh so this is so no but what about audio we need audio oh you're so right Kira yeah you're so right um okay me or you okay fine yeah me or you we can tell we can tell we can tell all right all right ready um who is more athletic me you oh you [ __ ] you're supposed to say me just confidence better dance moves you me that one I actually believe in the first one I'm yeah Kelly might be a better athlete but I wouldn't admit it uh better kids coach probably Kelly I would say neither of us honestly you have you coached your kid stuff yet no but I just feel like that's going to be tough by default I win yes okay all right who is more protective oh I would say me I would think Kelly too yeah um who is more likely to walk into a glass door you no you no walk into a glass door listen I think I've seen it I think I screen door it was something yes Chad who is the scarier parent me definitely her I mean unless you ask my son that's fair that's fair all right who is more forgetful me I would say Kelly who is the favorite Child of the three of you Chad you can say yourself it's fine I I would think me but you were like the star got to enjoy you know you were there by yourself for a bunch well that doesn't mean I'm the favorite it just means I'm the last one they didn't have any energy you you you've always been the favorite it's fine yeah yeah it's okay I know sad okay and then these are for Chad Buffalo or Jacksonville Jacksonville weather yeah weather Buffalo's great love the people have so many me memories got my start there like nothing but good things to say about everything there but I remember being in Jacksonville for a month my wife she was still butting up things in Buffalo and she was about to come down and I called her I go I'm sorry and she goes what I go I'm so sorry babe like you're going to love it down here I'd been down there for a month I was like well cuz up there you know 6 months out of the Year especially with kids you can't even go out that's the big thing that's what I was going say and I'm not around when it's cold and and so now it's like and you were calling to say sorry that you had been stuck in Buffalo and because for me that was my you know one my first you know you had to get that start to and I was just and shoot man my first year I was working from I get up there 4:00 a.m. go to bed go leave at 12: at midnight like K you're just trying to grind grind grind so you just don't know what you're doing and then it was like man we just had three buffalo babies we lived there for 6 years she was getting crushed I'm not around so it's just you know Sun Sun is happiness sun and you can and like the kids can be outside outside all time so I I we had that same coming from Detroit to La so I understand and I remember you talking about how many gloves you have to put on all your children and I'm picturing Rose having to do that yes and jackets and then you got to take them off to get them in the car so like oh yeah and then you got to put them back on to get them out of it is yeah shout out to all the moms doing that y are God bless parents sorry not just mom's parents um a favorite player you have ever coached great question that's I don't think I can answer that who are you loving right now well you have Gabe Davis who you had in Buffalo so that's fun yeah he was my first draft pick oh I didn't know that okay yeah so that's kind of fun but I've had so many I mean I've you always talk about your I've had so many you know that I I couldn't put a finger on that yeah gotcha what about coach that you look up to oh oh that's good that is a good one um you should look up to the one that just came out in the media recently like a month ago Bruce Aryan oh yeah I liked him I liked his quotes he basically said if you miss a recital or or kids game will fire you yeah I love that like see what's important they're going to you know you're yeah they leave um you know I learned a lot L from uh Brian dble um head coach for the Giants just his creativity his offensive mind is wild um lesie Frasier just his the way he kind of controls not only his players but also he kind of mentors coaches um he's been great great to me we still talk and then I've never coached with him but coach Reed uh Andy Reed like I remember within my first two years coaching I called him about something and he just he'll take the time for me whenever um he's I respect him so much so I've been lucky i' I've had a lot of guys I've been around who I just take things from you know I try to learn them as much as I can from them and you know if it fits your fits your personality take it and just trying to be the best two things real quick you said Andy re which I want to D did you know and I think I told you this pton Manning's retirement party we went Matthew and I and you I don't think but you played for Andy Reid um and I walked up to him and he immediate like I was just going to introduce myself because I honestly I was like I you had talked so highly of him and I just wanted to you know introduce whatever so go so hi coach Reed I he goes you're Chad Hall's little sister aren't you and I was like I hadn't been called that in a long time because I was usually Matthew Stafford's wife so all of a sudden I'm back to being your little sister and I kind of loved it but the fact that he even was like yeah you're Chad Hall's little sister I mean we do look very alike and we're both short so there's that but I just feel like you obviously made an impression on him as well um I know he loved you but also do you think things like I feel like you as a coach are different just because you do um try and build all these relationships and make it more like a family style thing do you think that came from a coach or do you think that came from like I was going to say Dad as a coach um like did Dad kind of instill or not I mean I'm I'm putting words in your mouth now but like no I honestly no coach I had yourself no coach I had ever did it as far as having people over and the pros yes yeah um but we started do it in high school honestly I started this thing in high school it's the lineman right yeah MH your quarterbacks you're treating Len and the quarterback and all the O linemen eat dinner every th Thursday night at a different person's house love that so I started that in high school and funny you say that dad was a part of it okay maybe that's what they still do it to this day but um oh do they yeah I love that I just think it's I just think it's human nature the more you care about somebody or the more you know about somebody the more you're willing to do for them oh like push yourself for them yeah so it's just like so the more you hang out with somebody the and also the more you don't want to disappoint someone you really love exactly I agree okay yeah let's do one last question and it's for both of you just give me yes or a no bringing back the Fourth of July party we talk we talked about this a week ago yes yes we' have to figure out some Dynamics because everyone has all these kids and we this is not a kid-friendly party like this is adults only but if you're going to come all the way to Lake laner in Georgia and most people don't live there anymore I would say majority don't oh yeah definitely majority don't definitely um it would people would be like what do we do with our kids and we're like well I don't know so uh there have to be some Logistics and some yeah some tatas in there somehow some tatas also we would like I'm done with the whole we charge $5 and they get free booze all day a boat a DJ and food yeah I mean we charged more than that but still it didn't cover it did not cover what it should have no but it was great I know it was so good who cared nobody yeah oh it was so perfect okay anyways it's fine um okay before we go first of all thank you I love you I miss you a lot it really does suck being this far and you are very busy opposite Coast I know and you're and I don't I don't know with all these kids like life gets busy and it's tough to reconnect but I will say this week has meant a lot so I appreciate you and Rose getting on a plane with three children for and under and C traveling all the way from Jacksonville cuz I know that's not easy and we're sorry go ahead were you about to give me a compliment too I feel like that was coming right yes that was coming um but I mean we have a couple weeks off every summer and there's nothing else that I prioritize more is trying to make sure we see everyone luckily we get to see Jenny a little more because she's closer yeah but and Mom and Dad we're the for this part which sucks but just seeing you and your fam and your girls I know it's so fun seeing our all our kids together I know they get along which is really nice and I love having a boy around yeah I mean I feel bad for him you know no I think he loves it at least he got a Spider-Man costume and not a dress this time so well you know I did order him some superhero stuff before we left for our little s our little two-day trip so that helped me either of it works I mean I was in a dress too when I was that age but you are I know I mean I want to we maybe on the podcast page we might if you're okay with it putting a side by side of you and him oh yeah when I was little yes my little yeah and I might have to do little Home Videos so we hear your voices at the same time okay I haven't done that yet either wait can we end it on a good story can we tell the story about right uh sorry that was right uh with rose oh yeah okay we could put that on there okay yes okay great so you can uh you can it oh well we're this was a couple days ago we were sitting outside watching the sunrise come up so it's early in the morning I mean it's 5:30 yeah they on time change yeah they were up early so it's me right it's just my um Rose Penelope and Presley and then finally you know it was time to get some food and they were getting a little hungry and so Wright gets really excited but so Rose I think stood up picked up pry she was like let's okay let's get some food and he literally stood up and goes oh yeah shake your booty and just SLA smacked her ass and she what's the best to he's like oh yeah shake your booty and [ __ ] and Chad is filming and the best part is Rose looks right at child like this oh yeah like this is your son and I am so like she was exhausted and just like oh yeah shake your booty w like you showed me the video and I lost it I mean he is your son I love you so much he's going to be such an amazing man because that's way you are and I have no doubt that all of your children are going to change this world for the better because they have two very good parents speaking of that is there anything you would like to share with the morning after podcast about what's in your future in my future oh yes something very big very big yeah very big um the whole thing was a surprise but we are very blessed Rose is pregnant so we are going to have um more kids plural yeah I was I was on my Air Force golf trip during her first Ultra ultrasound she called me a little Tey I thought it was going to be like oh no no you know we've been everyone's been through we've been through it but then showed me two babies on the ultrasound yeah we're going for it here we go five five party of five five and under seven five five and under so as much as we are so happy for them everyone throw them some prayers too because that is going to be a lot we will all surround you guys though and support y'all as you know as our family always does um so just know if you're not there you know Rose will not be alone um handling that cuz I I don't think it's possible also we have been looking at Sprinter vans for you guys considering I'm just kidding Actually I don't even said I don't think he said identical because he did not know yet um obviously time has passed since then and we all know that it is a it's hard to have a healthy baby in this world it's hard to get pregnant it's hard to do a lot these days um and identical twins throws it in a high risk factor right away um and fortunately they are doing well right now but they have had some complications so um I just really am asking I don't want to get into the complications but I'm really am asking if you believe in a higher power just to send prayers their way um it is two little
