[Music] happy Sunday welcome into Ravens rundown I'm Joey Peterson we're a day removed from yesterday's preseason loss against the Green Bay Packers so I'm going to give you my five winners and my Wallace this is a guy I'm really excited about I am so excited about his abilities I'm so excited about his ceiling I'm so excited to see him in regular season action this year for the Ravens look at the stat line one reception 48 yards 48 yards was his long obviously one target as well for Touchdown an awesome little stretch out touchdown the only touchdown of the game Josh Johnson hit him right on the money I just think when you look at the past couple of games anytime there was like a big play outside of Dayton Wade's touchdown against the Falcons it was just Ty Wallace he had the consistently in each game the most yards after catch he just has an ability to to catch the football and then not stop there right he's not done there he's not satisfied and he has he just has a great knack for getting yards after having the ball in his hands so he's my number one winner from today I I just love what I saw about him can't wait to see him more in this regular season I think he's going to be an asset and I think he's 100% locked down and guaranteed himself a roster spot going into the 2024 season number two Nate Wiggins and if you didn't watch a single part of the game and you're just looking at the stat sheet you're saying really like oh I didn't even know he played this game right didn't do a ton but I'm saying that Wiggins for two reasons one I almost said two but one he played right got injured in the game against the Eagles had to leave had to go down the locker room with the trainers no one really knew what the length was going to be then he came back practicing didn't play against the Falcons I didn't think he was gonna play against Green Bay but I'm happy that he did because it just made me all that more confident in his ability to be a lock down quarter for the Baltimore Ravens in 2024 John Harbaugh is excited from what he's seeing from Nate Wiggins I'm excited for what he's seeing on Nate Wiggins and that's just point one point two is the fact that every single time the Packers whether it was Pratt or whether it was sha Clifford every single time they targeted a receiver that Nate Wiggins was covering it was an incompletion and Nate Wiggins was just draped all over him and I get it he's covering some guys that will be wide receiver five wide receiver six maybe wide receiver four on their depth chart so I'm excited to see what he does against a wide receiver one or a wide receiver two but still he's doing everything you need him to do man he seems like so worth that first pick in the 2024 in FFL draft first round pick not first pick obviously next up in my winners Trenton Simpson this is uh I will say Nate Wiggins or Tren Simpson he's been the only guy who's made this list every single week you'll see another one coming up but I don't want to give too much away but again kind of like Nate Wiggins not a game that necessarily jumps off of you from the stat sheet perspective didn't leave the team in tackles he did get an interception was awesome had a little return on it but every single game I've just gotten more and more confident in his ability to be the next Patrick Queen right and I'm not saying he needs 150 tackles this year but I'm saying we're going to be fine with him right next to ran Smith because when he will be next to ran Smith he's just going to be that much better because that's what ran Smith does is he makes people around him better he takes a little bit of tension off of other people because they have to put it on him and so Tren Simpson has just absolutely stacked these games one by one by one with performance by performance by performance and I'm so excited to see what he can do in 2024 four right next to roquan Smith my number four winner and the other guy who's made this list every single week is Bo bra it's Sunday and cut down days on Tuesday I think Bo bra's gonna make a roster I think Bo braid needs to make a roster second straight game leading uh the team in tackles he had one play that was kind of a question mark took a pretty bad angle on a running back screen and and they Packers got like 25 yards from it but still the tackling display that this guy shows every single week is unlike anything in like the modern era of football you still have those bruisers at the safety position but you know what he reminds me of he kind of reminds me of like Shawn Taylor kind of reminds me of Ed Reed just those guys who almost feel like they have no um care for their bodies and they just go in there guns of Blazing like a rocket like a missile and get the tackle every single time he's had a tackle for loss every single game that he's played so far and I just think he's shown me enough he has I know he's undrafted I know you drafted sui Kane in the seventh round you spent more more uh what capital on c k did Bo BR I think Bo br's a better football player I do I think Bo br's a better football player that's why he's my number four winner my last winner number five John Kelly Jr and I still don't know if he's going to make a roster I think with Owen Wright getting hurt might help him a little bit more and then we'll get into Owen Wright in just a little bit but he's played so well these past two games again when they signed him was kind of like okay like kind of random kind of out of nowhere but really happy with what he's been doing and who knows we'll see so who do you guys think was the Ravens biggest winner vers the Packers I think it was tylon Wallace I think it was any of those Five Guys honestly but you let me know down in rundown Devin Larry would be number one on that list I really think so oh Devin um I don't know even where to start I never really thought he was going to be the quarterback to on this roster I thought maybe he could play well enough to where the Ravens say okay maybe we take three quarterbacks right he's a different style of quarterback than Josh Johnson Lamar Jackson are he's more of a pocket passer not as mobile so okay if he balls out maybe he gets a qb3 spot and they just take three quarterbacks on this roster I don't think it's happening after today I don't think that's happening after today six for 13 34 yards that's averaging five yards a pass attempt pass completion excuse me that means probably less than five yards per pass attempt anyway two interceptions he got back for 28 yards he also fumbled the football not going to say that's his fault um it was kind of a Blindside tackle but still fumbled it they scooped it they scored but like I don't know it just it just seems like over the last three weeks it's only gotten worse for Devon honestly his best showing was the first week of the preseason and then last week you barely saw him at all this week what you did see of him was terrible he tries to thread a needle and thank his lucky stars Green Bay didn't pick it off and then the next play tries to thread a needle again and throws it right to a linebacker who was right there I don't get it but like I've said before I said this yesterday I said this two days ago some people are college quarterbacks some people are NFL quarterbacks some people are both Devon lry you my friend are not an NFL quarterback and that's okay neither am I but I'd be shocked if Devon Larry makes this roster my number two loser is Owen Wright um just just sad you know I I hate to see what happened with him um and Co if you don't mind can we throw up that social the Tweet um he had a a hairline fracture of his foot and this was a guy I thought could have made a roster especially after that first game Jeff's reic with the Tweet Ravens running back Owen Wright has a hairline fraction of his foot sustain in today's game expectation is he'll have surgery it's not season ending injury however the Ravens will have a decision to make about his roster spot and whether the keep him eligible for return but like he was showing flashes he really was and maybe they were less than this last game and the game before that then in that first game the Eagles game was definitely his best game of the preseason but still you hate to see this happen for the second year in row a guy like this get injured an undrafted guy who gave himself a puncher's chance at making a roster um and again not the greatest game three carries 10 yards eight yards was his longest um but still man hate to see that happen to him hate to see that happen for him now you just got to wonder okay who's who's going to get that spot is it gonna be R Ali is it gonna be John Kelly Jr I don't know I guess we'll find out on Tuesday my third loser is dayon Wayne and I hate having him on this list I do because he's been on my winnner list the last two weeks but I said this on Friday for being an undrafted guy who's trying to get that last wide receiver spot he needed to come into today and do something to make John Harbaugh and Eric dasta look at each other and say there's no way in hell we could have a Ravens roster without him on it and he didn't really do that one catch for five yards that was the end of his stat line again they didn't benefit from the quarterbacks not completing a lot of passes they're I I don't know the exact numbers but I can't imagine there's more than 12 or 13 passes completed for the entire game so that definitely didn't help him but he also dropped a pass that was kind of put in his Bread Basket he bobbled it when he was trying to get two feet down so it was an incomplete he just didn't look that great he didn't um and so I don't know if he'll get roster spot I think he needed to stack three really good preseason games together and this last game yesterday didn't really help him do that but we'll see I would love for them to take a chance on him I really do I still think he's got some juice but definitely one of my losers from today my number four loser and this is on the back-to-back losers list is the run defense if you look at the statistics for Green Bay yesterday especially when you look at their rushing yards 39 carries almost 200 yards and almost five yards per carry that's the second week in a row that the team that we've played in the preseason the Ravens have played in the preseason has just popped out five yards per carry second week in a row now I get it you don't have a lot of the star is playing but neither do they you know like they don't either they're not playing with their starting running backs they're not playing with their starting offensive line and so I'm not saying it's something that you're pressing the panic button for but at this point I've at least got it in my sights I know where it is in case I need to I didn't like what I saw last week I wanted to see something better this week and I didn't see anything better 39 carries 193 yards 4.9 yards per carry again left very much to be desired from this this run defense my last loser is offensive line depth and it's not like it took a big hit Nick sok did get injured um so that is a hit itself he wasn't going to be a starter but he was going to be a pretty key depth piece right and he's another draft pick from this past year and this offensive Line's the biggest question mark going into this season I think and it's going to come with some growing paints it will I'm here to tell you that right now it will come with some growing pains when you lose Kevin Seer when you lose Morgan Moses when you lose three guys starting on that offensive line replace them with three guys who have never started in an NFL season before there's going to be a little bit of growing pains and that's okay but you would just would have hoped to have a little more depth and with Nick samach getting injured there kind of goes your depth so I guess we'll see what happens I guess we'll see what they do maybe taesa Manning can step up Nick sok was playing a lot Center which is the position he got drafted for but but we'll see Tyler L bomb should be good to go week one against the Chiefs John Harbaugh did say that yesterday didn't sound too definite with it but said should be good to go but definitely offensive line depth took a hit
