there is some some soccer on late at night that I might might try and catch we got a softball game tonight we're going to wrap up the the uh the com the title tonight for the lsj team so got other that we didn't get to some really good stuff in here as well um I think it's penis I think it's going to be a fun show um I hope so at least and prob two of the questions are can you just read my questions from last week yeah yeah yeah it's valid yeah that's fair but before we get to all that before we get to all that Graham's doctor's appointment got in the way let's uh let's dig into to uh Lions tonight yeah it's preseason football is tough you know we've talked about this before the idea that if you bet the underdog at plus 15 50 or more every time on the money line throughout the preseason you'll make money cuz it's truly a crap shoot 1 800 Gambler it's just it's too much work though every night every week to pay attention I'm like ah I it's ridiculous I don't I just don't want to do it so I just have this Tony dumbrowski level excitement in me that I need to just get out with a $20 bet on plus four and a half that just gets it out of the way well the whatever happens happen the Tigers just went through their two confident pictures pitchers the last two nights so there may be some some T Tigers betting there definitely will be some some soccer betting but even with the tigers with the bullpen starts though even that they pitched well in a couple of those so I just forget them you know there's other baseball games bet those a better angle I am going to be at the FC Cincinnati Santos lagona uh leagues Cup game on Friday night young boys and so uh minus one Cincinnati minus 125 kind of like it don't love it but I'm going to bet the game cuz I'm going to be there have to if you listen to this before Friday night I like the LA Galaxy uh plus a half at minus 110 at Seattle in the leagues Cup tonight or plus 295 on the money line really like that LA Galaxy are just a better team too much for home home field um so there's some stuff going on there and remember if you bet one of Graham's picks and it doesn't come through make sure you tweet at him yes pleasee tell him he sucks please do cuz that's the best and I have some Futures going I have one on Brazil which of course plays the US in the women's soccer gold medal game so I'll be here we go cheering on the Brazilian cou all that all that good moving to Canada all that uh really good stuff um all right are you ready to dig in into these groovy donut Twitter questions yep let's do it Eric Schultz up first does the punishment Harbaugh received for the covid recruiting Scandal surprise you does it potentially foreshadow what the punishment might be for sign Ste the the sign stealing Scandal and From Below show do the previous punishments towards Michigan in recent years provide any kind of barometer for further punishment it's a good question because what I can't tell is how much they're out to get Harbaugh how much Harbaugh's punishment had to with the fact that he's not there anymore would the punishment had been any different if he was still the head coach would they given him you know a year where I think it would have been the same but I think Harbaugh knew that and wanted he wanted to jump to the the pros anyway but yeah he just got out of it by having a job in San Diego now so I'm not a huge fan of punishing current players um I I believe in punishing head coaches who were overseeing things I believe in punishing the people who were a part of it on staffs and things like that and you know in in some degree punishing teams that took part retroactively and so maybe there's there's some things to do there I I you can't cap their nil can you because that's what would affect them the most is the money aspect well no the real question is would they do anything to last year's championship and they don't really have control over that they could they could but go ahead and do it they're still national champions I don't it doesn't change my mind remember with Reggie Bush and they're going to take all of his records away guess what I I still think Reggie Bush is unbelievable and deserved a Heisman deserved to win a national champ you know all that stuff it did not surprise me because I think the NCAA is uh irked by Harbaugh in a lot of the ways that I am and now did he deserve what he got I I don't know cuz I don't know the the degree of lack of cooperation and that's what they hate I do think if Harbaugh was a more likable personality to people outside of his Circle that it would be different and that's probably not fair to him entirely but I you know so you think that he that Harbaugh behind the scenes with the NCAA was different with the way he does it in in public I mean he's pretty much saying he has no idea's what you're talking about I think he did that to the NCAA and that's why they're trying their hardest to I mean he's never going to coach in college again right he's either see Harbaugh is either full of [ __ ] or he's a really bad manager of of a team and because you can't be I think he's full of [ __ ] he's well he might he's a good football coach I I yeah I'm just not sure he's a great manager of a program either I think he's a really good football coach I don't know if he's R it it it overseeing a whole operation but you know what to be fair to that who is well I mean there are coach be smart I mean I guess Sab does a pretty good job of it you know but he has other people to help yeah sure no and he does he does I again you either know what what's going on and you're either paying attention you're perceptive to it or you you're you're not and then you're you're there's one aspect of the job you don't do great that said he just beat in Ohio state three straight years won two straight Big 10 titles and he's um just won a national title I think Harbaugh thinks he didn't do anything wrong believes that and wants to say that out loud to whoever wants to hear it so how are you going to break the guy even if you have evidence on him he's gonna lie to the end lie lie lie yeah I don't know if it's a lie in his head I don't know what I don't know what is like I don't know like if Harbaugh was born today I don't know what he would be diagnosed with as a child you know what I mean like I don't you know like I I I got to be careful here but like I don't know that har boss thinks the way every some other people the highest form of Asbergers I I'm not right I mean come on yes I just don't know if he's operating with the same Machinery as everybody else in some way that's all who is and right we all have our God yeah there there and and there's nothing wrong with there's nothing wrong with that right I mean gosh the the amount of flaws with me I mean like if you know I mean deprecation so feels better look at this yeah look at this tub of lard like he's got everything in his life and he can't even you know have the discipline to eat right you know like what is wrong with him he's always on a treadmill but fat how is that possible every time he tweets he's on a [ __ ] treadmill again again I am not not knocking anybody who has like damn how much is Graham eating if he's always on a treadmill oh my wife is out of town this this this week it was bad it was really bad the stuff I got into yesterday it was just as just constant one thing after another scrub the internet I need her to come home get rid of those cookies yeah yeah yeah it was it was a bad it was a bad week yeah Eric Schultz uh while the college football playoff title can't be taken away from Michigan wins can certainly be vacated How likely do you think uh that is to happen if it does how much do you feel it changes the perception of the legit legitimacy of the college football title so I don't think anybody cares no I just didn't think anybody would care about the legit legitimacy I can say it yeah I mean it's it's I guess it's don't care teach their own and yeah if the if if winds were vacated that would matter to people but they wouldn't include the playoff and and they would still have won a national title so I don't think there's a whole lot they can do to them and I don't know that WIS I mean they obviously had an advantage to what degree in G you know in competition which is the ultimate form of cheating now whether that rule should be in place is is not important what's important is these are the rules and they they did not OB oby obey them and they took advantage and so you know I'm I'm is it like the Astros title when they when they did the that's a really good question because I do look at the Astros title differently I look at his M I used to look at that group as like boy that what what a great group coming up and they finally got one now you look at that tuve you're like [ __ ] that guy you look at him and you go that wasn't really a title maybe they wi another you know and so or it was but it was the yeah it was the sign ceiling title and so maybe there's enough that'll happen in Michigan maybe enough will come out that that's how we will perceive it I don't perceive it like that right now and I think a lot of it has to do with when the news broke when Conor sallans was fired and how they finished the season you still had to beat very you still had to beat like teams like Alabama in the postseason you know you still had to beat Washington in the postseason and they were up to that task and that's different than what happened with the Astros who were actually doing it in the World Series so that that's where it's a little a little different I think but you know I don't know I it I guess how everybody thinks of it will be their own their own deal Eric Schultz oh my God I'm dying Eric Schultz a story my brother went to Illinois the first time I visited him was in the fall and Illinois was playing at Indiana that day I saw multiple students walking around campus with shirts that read [ __ ] Michigan so yes Graham not just the MSU fans hate them yeah there are a lot of people who don't like Michigan but I mean because you know there is a um but you know I feel the same way a lot of people feel about Michigan about northwestern's journalism school so like we all have that everybody has something yeah and if you're somebody who comes from like I'm guessing Oregon State fans felt a certain way about Oregon if you're somebody who comes from uh the little guy so to speak when I was in cumoo I used to work there by the way I've heard we we went you know we competed in our own company with the Grand Rapids Press back in the days when newspapers were real newspaper papers like it was always like [ __ ] those guys they had they had like 14 full-time staffers and we did better work than them and had more talent and we loved it right now I'm not sure we did better work and I'm not sure we had more talent but that's how we felt like it was a fun thing I worked in Freeport Illinois we loved beating the Rockford paper loved it and Lancing I I love the fact that there were there have been periods of time where we have had I think we've had more pound-for-pound Talent than the Free Press and and I'm talking Newsroom wide there was a period in like 201617 where we really were strong that stuff's fun when you're the when you're kind of the guy who's looked at as the the underdog so to speak and I've always enjoyed that so I I think um but there are a lot of people who think Michigan carries themselves a certain way so you're right it's it's not what does Michigan care about Illinois do Michigan fans walk around and say [ __ ] Illinois on their shirts right I mean what is that about it's kind of weird but uh money bag do you really think the college football playoff would go against an NCAA postseason ban and include Michigan they kept Madison out of playoff rankings because of NCAA postseason rules and already said last fall they'd follow the NCAA related to Michigan it's a good question and now you got 12 teams this year so it's it's it's a bigger um piece of the pie I I don't know I don't know um it you know the Big 10 in SEC kind of run the show James Madison is not part of those so they don't really have the the advocacy um that Michigan will have although you know the Big 10 is also its members and not everybody loves Michigan and loves what what's happened here I don't think Michigan's my personal feeling is I don't think Michigan's going to be in the top 12 this year I don't and I just think the schedule I think Texas is better than them they play Early they finally play a difficult um non-conference game although it is at home that I don't know if they're allowed to leave like they may have some sort of probation where they can't leave Michigan in this month of September like it's a a rule somebody got in trouble but um yeah I I I I just don't know Glenn Smith Graham I don't quite understand your willingness to let Central Michigan off the hook for the Conor stallions Fiasco if I understand your stance correctly you are pinning the blame on a few individuals there what bothers me is almost uh is the almost one year of Silence coming from Mount Pleasant yeah you're you're not wrong uh I mean even if you are the steward of a school people are the like you know when when people at Michigan State screw up you know I understand there you know thousands of people in Michigan State aren't part of that screw up but the school still gets labeled you're still you're still the athletic director there you're still the head football coach there as long as they are in power as long as they are in a position of leadership as long as they are controlling decisions the school suffers so I'm not saying I'm just saying long term the idea that cmu's relationship with Michigan State should change when the ad who's there right now will not be there in 3 years they got a new president coming in December that'll be a very interesting situation the football coach is not going to survive this season they've been like what they've been a bad team the last two years they're going to I don't think they're going to get to 500 this year I love the under six wins on the fire Keepers eye casino and Sportsbook G I mean like I I don't um and so when those peoples are are gone even if they screwed this up like and and we're disrespectful and whatever it might be and just foolish I don't think CMU the institution should suffer that's what I'm that's all I'm saying it's not CMU gets a pass but if if new people come in and and the relationship changes Tyler Lions over 10 and a half and MSU over five wins par late is plus 240 I like it how much do you I would love it at 4 and a half for MSU but you might be I think there are places where you can get four and a half but they won't be quite the Juice Plus I like it it might be closer to like plus 25 or something like that with 4 and A2 um the one thing about I I'll say this what I like about this that Tyler's bringing up is if if Michigan State just wins five and they and so say you put say you put 50 bucks on this and the lions are pretty close to even money you're a little bit you know you even if Michigan State hits the five and and it's a push you're going to win the Lion's half of the BET and win your 50 bucks so you may not get the advantage of the parlay but you still win so get the four and a half so four and a half is better but but five isn't five isn't the worst get in your money back is complete ass it's better than losing it well if you're going to say that yes I have to agree with that part too uh Andrew zoa my kid turns one soon can we get some college refs our ass kid shirts sure yeah that'll be is it a onesie or kids wear shirts yeah one they're are they are they out of they're not out of ones these at the one but it's a little they're sorts of you probably need some sizes there all sorts of sizes at one you know we can get you one Andrew I think we could handle that that's pretty uh that's pretty cool by the way a one-year-old birthday party if you do it one-year-old birthday parties are as be careful I think I think there is no this isn't me like going to kids birthday parties I think they are the best parties for adults that exist it's like it's like the parents it's like the parents survived the first year the kids too young to know what hell is happening they're just going to stuff their face in the cake everybody's going to laugh it's adorable and everybody gets either drunk or stoned like if you are going to a one- year-old's birthday party stock up on pure options there should be a deal like maybe we can talk to Pure options like it is a great uh time to go to Pure options if you're about to go to a kids's one-year-old birthday party you should quit the lsj and just go to [ __ ] that like guys don't want to go to yeah yeah you'd make a million dollars I will go to people's weddings I will go to one-year-old birthday parties they're fun they're good yeah I'm all in uh I don't want to go to a three-year-old birthday party cuz then then the kids are mobile and uh and it's about the kids and you're trying to entertain unreasonable people like nobody wants that with the one-year-old people bring their other kids who are three four five whatever yeah one-year-old well that's that's true but that's on them to watch them I think right yeah it's a good point finding kids birthday parties Jesus um Andrew zoa rubbe will you find this person you might have fathered and send them a couch and my dad's shirt what if like the one I got my dad it says number one dad and then on the back it says dot dot dot not really I get him one of those shirts we got to get you a shirt that says number one dad possibly probably no not really no I wouldn't be lucky kid Spartan 18770 how many years does Jonathan Smith have to turn this program around and why won't us fans allow him to have that time well because waiting sucks and Michigan's been really good and I don't think Michigan is going to get really bad and it just waiting sucks and and the problem is it's not quite as bad as the Tigers but when the previous regime didn't get it done although there was at least that 2021 year that people got to enjoy it it's hard to give the next regime time like I said this before with Scott Harris and Chris illich and they they may turn out to really suck at this but it would our attitudes toward them would be different if they took over in 2016 and it was 2017 18 right now like you're just barely into it it's like okay they got to do this instead it's like nope been waiting you don't get this you don't get the time you don't get the bill you get you know and that's that's the the tricky thing in terms of how long it'll take Jonathan Smith to turn it around I do think the transfer portal is is different um makes for a different uh setup I think he's pretty Adept in it based on his time at Oregon State um I think the roster is in better shape than the program he took over and I sort of look at this and I think there's a um you know a chance to be competitive next year in the the the maybe eight- win realm and I think what you have to think though is you have a sophomore quarterback who's supposed to be like a potential Pro talent and he's got three years left there's no by the you know you want to get something out of him where he's either ahead of schedule and in year two you're doing it or in year three his senior year you're you're really rolling and trying to compete for a playoff spot and everything next one from Spartan what small college or university in Michigan will not survive financially in 10 years um well here's the thing I I think some of the state like Central Michigan is really struggling and there are places that are it's just but they will do what it takes to survive in terms of admission standards and and different things but that will impact other places so I don't know who will fall off but so you're right there would be I would venture to guess in 10 years there will be two fairly well-known colleges in Michigan that don't exist or exist very differently and you think one CMU no I think CMU will adjust not to be that but the trickle down it'll hurt somewhere else it's still like a party school right like people in this area you know students want to go up there and yeah college and they do they do they do some good things they've just financially been in rough rough shape for a bit next one from Spartan would we uh what would we need to happen to make you move to Holt oh would have to happen to make you okay uh a free house where is the nearest Pure options um let's uh yeah like uh um so the home of home of Larry Nasser I um sorry that was a I we fix it we they still have they still say that no where did that come from that's not even a cool thing to say I apologize that cuz that's not even for some people that's like who are listening that's like triggering that's like seriously bad if we could fix it in post we would I that's not a you want to get the show cancelled I mean we can just end the show we don't have to do it anymore you don't have to be crazy that's the worst I would need an apology from H for their behavior in school choice and the number of kids they've stolen from Ling I would need a a public oh man public apology yeah God I wasn't ready for that Professor if you were named enforcement Zar what punishment would you give Michigan it's something to do with money nil money or something which you can't do right but I mean you can't do any like I don't think you suspend like the the coaching staff a year do you I mean no Harbaugh just left their ass I mean yeah no I I don't I don't know what I would do I you're going to get a slap on the wrist but if if they believe if the evidence they have against Harbaugh warranted the punishment they actually gave him I would make that a ban for I mean the guy just signed a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers and you gave him a four-year show cause penalty so I would make any penalty I gave um beginning when he came back to the sport if he I don't think he will but you know what I mean like I would at least have the teeth of that instead it's just complete [ __ ] if you think unless they did it extra because he's gone anyway and and you know I mean could you ban him from College athletics all together and if he does decide to come back he has to like kiss your ass to get I mean I just don't know what you would have to do to harball I don't think he cares yeah I don't like you said I don't think he's coming back after after he's done the NFL this time I think he's retiring right he's getting up there yeah or he may coach he may have one more stop or something yeah I I don't know if he's like a a life for guy's going to be doing it when he's 70 or or not um I could see that with him I that's a good question I I don't know what I would do cuz I don't really have all the information and I don't know what's entirely fair I know there's a lot of bloodthirst to do something but I don't necessarily share that bloodthirst so um I I don't know what I don't know what I would do I I would want I would probably try to be more creative though than they are like I would try to do something that um you know I the problem is you don't control any of the stuff with the playoff and so you you really have no say and the stuff that really matters to people and I don't so I don't know what you could do that would be fair but also um you know ding them a little bit I it's a good question Professor if it was Graham vers Jason in a in a decathlon who wins what's the decathlon again it's 10 events hold on let me get the events um hold on hold on hold on let me uh let me get this uh I'm guided to another world time and time again all right here we us would almost die trying to do was go po how do they practice that we were watching that last night the pole vault the ladi's pole vault it's like how do you I don't even know how you would even just to run down with the and how do you get good without getting badly hurt it's yeah yeah right you have to flop on your head like once or twice so neither one of those clears the pull Vault so at this point I'm you it's one to a push Javelin again throwing events I give myself The Edge I don't know I've been stretching pretty good I got a good javelin throw 400 meters definitely me I don't know if he could Jason could do a whole time around the track um 110 hurdles this is Jason I got really short legs it's it's a disability I can't like it would it would you know I would I would hit I would stop turn around and help you man so we'd finish together okay you know I'd see you fall on your head long jump I I probably even you know shot put um that's me throwing a vent I'm just thinking of us doing these oh my God be hilarious shot put like putting up to your high jump I mean as long as the bar was under four feet both of us would have a chance to like no under three feet I don't know I wouldn't I'll give you the high jump 1500 meters would be me that's a mile I can I could do that and of course it would beat that so I would win the the uh is is the answer I do hear your voice try a substack for a while I you know I would have the benefit of um uh having this show and having my wife make more money than me and like all those sort of things to not have a ton of pressure I don't know that'd be a good question the timing has to be right like you see somebody um like um Justin Rogers who used to be Detroit News do it with the Lions he struck perfectly no nobody's ever been into the lions more like if you did this eight years ago time to do eight years ago it would be like uh I don't know if I'm going to ascribe to another Lion's thing so um but yeah no I I think it's great that people control their own you you have to be you have to be good enough though to offer something that people want to do and I I think that's not everybody um everybody can do that uh David Jackson since punishments directed at departed Michigan coaches are less than meaningless is the lesson for all schools to Simply cheat like hell and then your successes are investigated smugly reply bets and go on cheating yeah the BET comment is is I think drives but you need a guy like Harbaugh as head coach to like to cheat though like you need a coach to buy all in and go I am never going to admit anything I don't know what you're talking about and Harbaugh is sort of in one sense I'm not a huge fan but also I he has lived out a fantasy of mine which is sort of the idea like I used to say like they put you on probation and they say you can't play in that bowl game [ __ ] that my team's showing up we're playing we're going anyway I'd like to see your security guards take my 105 guys off the field you know what I mean like good luck with that we're here we're not we're not acknowledging Your Existence NCAA that used to be my fantasy for certain unreasonable things they did um and so I you know I in that sense I I but what if a guy like Mike Gundy did something like that and everybody'd be like what an [ __ ] ah damn it oh what time is it plug fell out uh we made it a little bit um the idea should everybody cheat no I mean you shouldn't because you have to sleep at night and you have to you should want to play by the rules and the degree in which this was uh something that gave them a great Advantage you know I don't know but it certainly was you you should everybody should play on the same plane based within the rules and and you know they didn't entirely do that and how many of them knew and to what you know who knows but yeah I I don't think no people shouldn't just cheat like hell now a lot of people blur lines and I think you should push the envelope on what's allowed to give yourself an edge I don't think there's anything wrong with that but um this was obviously across the line next one from David Magic Johnson aside and considering only High School play and not college success or pro ball who are the five best local basketball players of your lifetime how about this list one Jay Vincent two Sam Vincent three Robert Henderson four Marcus Taylor and five Al Horford this is a great list great list um I I Al Horford would not be on it other than these and and I don't know how I how I'd rank them but Marcus Taylor belongs there for sure Robert Henderson was incredible Sam Vincent Jay Vincent um Al Horford was kind of a late bloomer and was a really good high school player but there have been better high school players who weren't even great like you know Derrik Nelson at Everett amazing high school player who in high school I would take over Al Horford won a State title because of him Jonathan Jones at okus of course Ron Banks at seon you know but there there are a number of um you know Denzel Valentine was a I you know now they had better teams sometimes around him so that's hard to judge but Al Horford is the one guy who doesn't belong on that list just based on who he was as a senior in high school uh I mean obviously he became a you know 15-year NBA Pro so that we that's a whole different conversation uh David how many more how many power conference college basketball scholarship players are seniors this year in Michigan high schools are any in Ingam County in a related question if ID know Elon doesn't want to hear this but it is so inconsequential in terms of readership like I would say less on average less than 10% of my audience is driven by Twitter which has changed I mean it used to be well over a quarter back in the day and that's just you just don't need it anymore it's it's rather IR relevant tool in a lot of ways in terms of our business and um it mostly it's just unhealthy for your mental health cuz you're on it and you're it's not real life you know well he screwed up Elon screwed up the whole Twitter thing now I'm like seeing people like I'm not even following like I never see your tweets I which is fine I guess sometimes but you know it's just weird I don't see what I want to see and then I end up into this weird Vortex of like weird videos and nobody's created a good substitute there are different way there different ones have different you know strengths uh threads is the one that screwed it up mostly that had a chance and they they botched it but um anyway nobody nobody's done a great substitute for it either Myspace bring it back max Spade this year is there a sport in which fans are being too optimistic and setting themselves up for disappointment I well you have to have some hope right right I don't going into a season if you're talking Michigan State I don't think so I think people are realistic about football I think people are hopeful about basketball rightfully so but not like last year it was like this team better be top five I mean if saying they're going over four and a half wins and you're confident about that I guess if if I guess that would be a giant letdown if they didn't win five games I guess it's a really good hockey program it may not go as smoothly as last year entirely but like um that I think they're going to be really good again uh so you know and I think the Lions if you're looking there I think the Lions are Going to be a very good football team unless there's like a bad injury right so um and by by bad injury the one you know quarterback is the position where all of a sudden that could really change a season so um and nobody thinks anything else the the rest of the teams in Detroit so I don't know that anybody's setting themselves up for disappointment I think people are fairly realistic about um and uh you know in the Lions and and Michigan fans with Michigan football that you know that's the one where they're coming off a national title so I don't think they're going to be that disappointed even if it's an eight- win season I just I think they're okay Dave Laken next a couple weeks ago you showed some contempt toward a politician for their unscripted comments as a reporter would you rather cover a coach who made unscripted comments like Tom ISO or Dan Campbell or a coach who sticks to the script like Mel Tucker and Jim Harbaugh oh give me ISO and Campbell give me give me um authenticity and team uh you know giving you a little some insight authenticity and insight manp yeah I mean you want that a 100 times out of 100 and the thing that would drive me nuts about both Mel Tucker and Jim Harbaugh is that when they want to give more they can and there is a middle ground like the coaches who do this well the Nick Savin of the world like Mel Tucker was always trying to be Nick Sabin and Nick Savin sometimes he doesn't say anything but he knows how to give you something without giving you too much he knows how to you know he knows how to it just it's it's just better like I um no give me authenticity and give me insight and uh you know I'm not asking you to give me you know the the breakdown of your game plan the next week but just respond to the respond to the question question and and and do your best to answer it and and give me something and it helps you ultimately it helps you having friends in the business and I don't mean friends like you know friends that will uh cover your [ __ ] up but what I mean is having people you're friendly with who you can call and you have connection to it pays off it pays off for athletes it pays off for coaches um and and I don't get why more coaches don't do that and um I don't think Harbaugh has a ton of now he's a great football coach so doesn't need it but um you know Mel probably could have used a few more people he was close with yeah I don't we don't have enough time for all of that next one from Dave except for the last two years MSU football is usually underrated while Michigan consistently overrated with many uh Sports Outlets picking Michigan to finish third in the Big 10 and MSU 13th what do you think is more likely for MSU to finish above expectations or Michigan below Michigan below and this is not a at Michigan the Big 10 is just they're a lot of good teams at the top Michigan's replacing a lot I know they got a lot back but you know just look at you know look at the Oregons and Ohio States and Penn States and you know look at Iowa's schedule like you can see how Michigan would finish below that and when you think 13th and you think of the number of teams that are sort of in that middle pack or middle to bottom tier that Michigan State might be you could see how Michigan State could finish anywhere from uh you know you know 8th to 14th and so more likely to be above above that jebadiah next who is this Connor stallions look alike on the sidelines for Western Michigan during their 2022 game against Michigan State it's an interesting picture I don't know uh and I don't know if I think it's him maybe there's been something that's already come out with that but yeah it doesn't have you did you you didn't think it was him I did see it yeah I don't think it's him okay it's close it resembles him uh jebadiah when will happens and I will say this with Twitter is you you have a certain um Twitter Avatar that people get used to and when they're scrolling quickly that's how they recognize you quick and you don't want to change your colors too often for a long time I had that one when I was at the University of Illinois and it was like those two uh uh students behind me in bright orange with weird hair like making faces or whatever on the presso at Illinois basketball and it was orange and you quickly could see that like if you were scrolling you get to you know boom that's Graham's tweet just search Graham couch on there you could do that so I was hesitant to remove it but yeah I have not asked I have not asked uh Chris um but Twitter doesn't matter so what it really I mean it it's I enjoy the interaction of it still I think for sports and for our community of people and for people who follow Michigan State I enjoy interacting with people there I enjoy uh I still still enjoy parts of it that's why I do it but in terms of it it its value to the business is just not there anymore Jay reman Schneider was Stallions at the MSU CMU game to help Michigan uh pre- Scout for MSU or to help CMU read MSU signs during that game I don't know everything on this but I my understanding is it's a a CMU story to some degree like it was um he he was in part definitely there to help CMU and um you know that U now he may have been there for multiple reasons so and I don't I don't know that uh next one from Jay which Big 10 Basketball first school has the best football fan base seeing as how these schools his uh historically are slightly above average to bad in football Indiana Illinois Maryland Purdue UCLA I well UCLA sucks um I mean UCLA doesn't even have basketball fans in their basketball school I mean it's just it's just it's like it's like Eastern Michigan but but in La um I'd say Purdue that's a good question yeah it's a good question I don't know yeah I would say Purdue got it rocking it's it's Illinois is close so Illinois is is I think can be a little of both they just haven't had a lot of winning it's puru Illinois is the answer uh Jay uh what is both you guys max knees at this age so I'm not going to do it mad C Graham you don't think Michigan cheating impacted the outcome of the games Harbaugh's record was was 49 and 29 without stallions and 40 and three after the coaching and recruiting didn't make that much of a difference come on man I think some of the development did I think they got a lot better as a team in a program at the end uh now this is the problem with doing what they did though right this allows this narrative to exist and and and fairly so mat I'm not going to tell you not to think because this is why you don't cheat because then when you win and there's a stat like that that you know that can linger as a reason right to what degree did that make a difference obviously uh I don't think it was that influential um but this is why you don't cheat because it leaves you open to this all right mat C can someone from the lsj ask Harbaugh a follow-up question about never lying cheating and stealing the NCAA literally showed evidence of him lying so I'd be curious what his response would be booking flight to Los Angeles for a week let's do that a giant waste of time um yeah he's not going to tell yet so he can look 12 and get to a um get to the the new year six bowls which are now the playoff essentially 10- two is what it really required as you get these bigger Leagues with more losses to happen in the Big 12 in SEC especially I do think N9 and three is going to start to get some teams in that are really good 9 and3 teams but um that'll be but pretty much Notre Dame is going to be in every year right well it'll be scheduled I mean I I don't well once I get to 14 teams are they're the kings of 9 and three they always wanted them into the playoffs somehow and had to finagle them in but I I mean how many weeks do you do you think if Jared asked this like a month from now or like a month into the season would you think you'd know we'll have a we'll have a better feel well yeah um and you know and the schedule is going to play a factor like Michigan for example plays Texas at home could lose that game I think Texas is going to be really good this year plays Ohio State on the road at the end of the year and plays Oregon at home if they lose those three in competitive games and win their other nine like to me that's that's still probably a top 12 team right and and and yet you're going to be nine and three and that the schedules just get tougher for some of these um now these leagues are bigger all right Jared what's the good value Heisman bet Jaylen milro it's a good question we will do something with Harry in the next couple weeks not next week probably two weeks from now where we do a uh preseason wins over unders college football NFL best Heisman or other bets it to me it's always the Heisman is such a crap shoot you got to find Great Value so you got to find somebody that is well Dylan Gabriel is like the public everybody's feasting on that right now some sharp action in on it but Public's taking the Dylan Gabriel find somebody who's got a chance to develop enough early hype to be in the conversation um that's really good that you think you know but you got to find Long odds to find value with Texas I mean is he going to be this starting quarterback is Manning going to play who knows I think it's going to be yours right I would think so but you never know uh Kurt wisnoski the Tigers need a labotomy and some tights what offseason move and or action needs to be had to bring back confidence for the future well you got to make a decision on Javi right after If he if he ends the season with historically bad numbers like we're guessing he will I mean do you bring him back into the fold as a starting short stop no I want to see them I want to see them look like commenting on Personnel matters and you know that there there's you know whatever people hide behind that stuff all the time this it it's ridiculous I think it'll affect careers I think it'll hurt the see Superior Dome it'll be a cool experience I think it's it's going to be fun to uh be up there all right Ethan what would be more disheartening outcome a 4 and8 football season or a nine seed basketball season 4 and eight because I didn't win my bet I'd say nine seed basketball because I I do some things at at nine yeah you're only think you know and I'm not saying that I'm not saying 4 and8 would be fun for people and you people would lose their bets but you might just be an injury or one win that went the other way from being right where you expect them to be here two wins where nine seed basketball you're still in this funk you're still in this spot that you've sort of been in right and and the hope I think for people is that they they can get out of that and get back more in a contention and football like I don't think the direction of football is altered by a 4 and8 season or a 6 and6 season I really don't I I think your enjoyment this year might be but I don't think the direction of the program program changes all that much a nine seed in basketball with a team that loses some key guys and doesn't you know you might like it just lends itself to the question whether they're ever going to get back to the point that they were 5 years ago and uh I I think you know the longer that doesn't happen I I think the the more less likely it's going to happen if it doesn't happen with this team you know it's not easy to see how the team after that is any better Ethan William Goldston or shalik Calhoun will goston he's a monster a little scary shalik was uh said couldn't any top 25 college football team uh could have won a Natty by violating recruiting rules stealing their opponents play call signals and scheduling 16 home games over two years which included the weakest non-conference opponents imaginable no because yeah while I well I I'm actually I think their scheduling is is as shameful as anything like I that bothers me like just don't do that like don't do eight it's the eight home games that don't do that and if I if I was running college football that wouldn't be allowed like you would be ineligible for the postseason if you played more than seven that's that's just me but if you're allowed to do it I would still do it fair enough and they they they didn't they didn't get punished for it and the thing is at the end of the day what they could do what Michigan did that most people can't most people might be able to boost their regular season record but it was their growth in the postseason it was who they became by the end of last year I mean that was a program that was was able to win a National Championship and there's nowhere to hide in the postseason so I I uh I don't think any any just anybody could do that I just I'm saying the the amount of home games doesn't bother me because I just feel if as a head coach if you're going to let me schedule eight home games with no problem I'm going to do it life shouldn't be about getting away with what you can it shouldn't be about but cutro business college football they what you know you have fans that want win and and you know it it's fine and they should just be sh thing is we also spend more time with each other than we do just about anybody else in our lives because we're you know we I mean we spend you spend less than 5 hours a week with your wife some weeks theres is there anybody other than theres that you spend more time with every week than me like in person yeah no right I don't do anything so right I'm an old boring guy that likes to smoke weed and a while and whether he yeah I I don't know that that it gets any better Mike Scott if ISO retires after this year who would be the leading candidates to replace him if it was this year that's a great great question I don't know um but you know Allen Hower ought to have a list of people he's starting to consider just because you never know like his job is to not be caught off guard by it I was caught off guard by that question Allen how's job is to not be caught off guard um you know the one person on staff I think that would have any sort of shot down the road but I don't know after this year be Saudi Washington um I don't know how much impact ISO would have on it I think he would have some say um you know would there be somebody who you know the shock is smart to the world are real though more than any other MSU Sport and MSU football has gone through this a little bit when they've had openings where they've been surprised by some of the names that have reached out to them like Allan Hower won't even tell me off the record on some of this stuff but I someday if he writes a book the people who reached out like this offseason who had interest who were sitting head coaches it was sometimes you're like whoa okay that's interesting you know people you think are happy somewhere or something I think MSU basketball because of what it's become and over the last 25 years would get names of people we haven't even thought about who would be interested in that interested in leaving their places and it would be a really interesting search Mike Scott Jason what value does a sport sports card need to have to invest in getting it graded what are the best grading companies just curious um to be honest with you there's a guy junk wax hero I think on Twitter where he gets all the early 90s cards graded and they're you can find them in a quarter box but it's it all that's the great thing about the hobby is you can just do whatever you want to do with your collection you can Riley bullah bring Trump into the locker room uh did that impact the 2016 SE season give us the juicy details coach well Max Bull's career has taken off as a coach and I I do think you know he'll continue to rise clearly as the bug wants to do it wouldn't be stunned if he wed up at MSU someday and he'd obviously have to um you know uh quickly deal with why he was suspended for the Rose Bowl which you know really is that big a secret but somebody yeah I guess um RI the Riley bullah it wasn't just Riley Riley bullah wasn't alone and that that but that locker room with that didn't have great leadership was definitely impacted by the 2016 election and you got to go back to that time people weren't used to the divisiveness yet it was it was really new and Michigan State lacked leadership on that particular team 2015 a year earlier that team would have been is affected they had leadership both and sort of you know both sides all around the locker room they would have been fine if those guys had still been around and it was just the wrong time for that deal and but yes Riley was was part of that and it affected the season not in a positive way fart soup who likes black what rules and regulations would you put in place for cities bidding for future Olympics I do think this is important and you've seen cities that you know Athens was probably the worst where they just buil built a lot of stuff that that went to waste and to me I would want to try to give it to cities that were doing one of two things were either largely building an infrastructure of things they could sustain they wanted a new stadium for professional basketball team they wanted a new Olympic Stadium whatever it might be um or had a lot of things already in place and so you're yeah I think those those are important things um yeah for sure cuz I yeah I don't like when it's just dumb next one from the hawk since you once lived in and went to college in Chicago do you think they could ever host a summer olympics I can't remember how close they were on the bidding or if they didn't want it in like 200 at some point there was some talk of it I'm grateful they didn't because I would have
