two proud clubs from England's Northwest and some say this is the most heated rivalry in the country Manchester United hosting Liverpool always [Applause] special we're live on eatv it is a meeting of two Northwest Rivals and one of the biggest games in English football without any shadow of a doubt Manchester United against Liverpool coming up here at Old Trafford I'm Derek Ray joining me for commentary is Stuart Robson and Stuart were both thoroughly looking forward to this one absolutely and this is one of the great rivalries Derek and I think it's fair to say there's not a lot of love between these two clubs let's hope we get an entertaining game here could be Splendid defending this is the team Manchester United will go with Bruna fernan plays with casemiro in the center of the pitch and leading the line today is jayen Sancho how about the cross Has the strength to hang on to [Applause] it determined block let's have a look at the initial 11 for the visitors well they play with a diamond in Midfield which makes the role of the holding Midfield player so important is he there to dictate the play with his passing or be a defensive screen I'd hope he could do both [Applause] jobs it's a good Liverpool move in the making reading it well not too fussy in clearing his lines but he really is danger personified but in this game Stuart what do you think we might see from him well the best players are the ones that can play in tight eras and he can certainly playing tight air as he wriggles out situations he can find that penetrative pass and he's such a good player when he gets the ball out of his feet and gets shots away he could be the outstanding player today it's there for him oh that's textbook goalkeeping [Applause] encouraging move from [Applause] Liverpool mosalah and he takes it on and there it is the opening goal on the Derby for Liverpool a real jolt to the home fans well just watch this again it's a really good goal but it's no surprise is it they've been in complete control here [Applause] action underway once more let's see if United have the wherewithal to square the [Applause] game Dio Doo shielding the ball superbly more than decent this from United Sancho winning back possession Bradley plenty of supports here a disappointing end to the move Salah opportunity here and it's in for Liverpool is there a way back for the opposition now [Applause] well just look at his movement he knows exactly how to find space and it's also a tidy finish that's a nice [Applause] [Music] goal well there's a man who knows his team have been good today Jurgen klopp would have wanted this sort of performance from his team and the ball is moving again 2- n is how it stands Rasmus hun United being afforded too much space nicely [Applause] blocked and ker has it now Virgil Van djk well they're quite content to knock it around inside their own half Andrew Robertson so bosoy beautifully weighted ball and still pressing and the danger is averted m a really effective shielding Under Pressure well that's the end of that move for now now counterattacking possibilities here Bruna fan has it jayen Sancho casimiro and thumped away good physical play Bradley now mosalah Alexis mallister possession and patience the watchwords but then the one that goes astray Lisandro Martinez jayen Sancho now casmiro encouraging stuff from United but really sticking to their task defensively so bosoy this is Salah I think most Defenders would expect to be booked halting an attack in that fashion and a yellow card it's going to be Stewart yeah the ref got that right it's a yellow card all day long well as you can see Juran Klo doesn't like that he feels that was a harsh booking [Applause] well no way to put a positive spin on that one disappointing well I don't think he'll be on the next free kick will he that wasn't good at [Applause] all V van djk here's [Applause] Robertson sooso promising looking ball well it really looked as though that was going to be another goal from him well a chance for second there probably should have done a bit better there [Applause] really can he deliver it with accuracy managed to get it out of there you can't really tackle like that and expect to get away with it booking to come you would [Applause] think well the card is out and it's yellow yeah it's clumsy and it's late definitely a yellow card bua fernan has it and having a goal well it could have been a better effort and I think we were all expecting it would be well as we inch our way towards halftime United with just one or two problems to solve Stewart it hasn't gone their way I have to say Derek they haven't played well they've been slow in possession they've been poor defensively and they've La a Cutting Edge they need to perform much better than this and that's great work to keep it in [Applause] play Dalo look as though there might be a threat but not so in the end good defending well this would help them get back into the [Applause] game casimiro [Applause] just the challenge that was required breaking it [Applause] Pace well taking into account all the stoppages two minutes to be added on well that's how to keep the opposition at [Applause] Bay kaziro [Applause] and they need to get tighter and block there and so the referee Blows the Whistle we've reached the halfway point here at Old Trafford well we're picking him out for a reason he's having a tremendous game and attack Stuart well he's been a joy to watch so far he's got so much ability and it was also a very good finish for his goal he's been excellent so back in business and it was a breathtaking performance by Liverpool in the first 45 you've got to say [Applause] can he find the net foiling his opponent [Applause] completely wataru [Applause] Endo VTO van dijk here's Robertson excellent defending jayen Sancho hund Dalo well this is better but they need to make the pressure count now but then the one that fails to hit its Target what taru Endo might lead to a chance trying to craft something and a goal there he is at the Double they just can't subdue him well just look at strength here he holds off the challenge he keeps his balance and he finds the back of the net It's a Wonderful goal well that goal is just what Jurgen klopp would have wanted he has to be happy with this performance back underway here and Liverpool handing out a very harsh lesson real determination and the challenge a throw in here [Applause] Lisandro [Applause] Martinez now casmiro hund jayen Sancho well space if he goes inside and let's give credit to the [Applause] defending Andrew [Applause] Robertson [Applause] Diaz element of risk there but he's won the [Applause] ball 30 minutes left for [Applause] play Shaw onto [Applause] fernan and how about that for a [Applause] save endo Nunes MacAllister robed to the ball mosalah jayen Sancho [Applause] Diaz the referee has let the advantage of Cruz and Liverpool so BOS determined [Applause] defending well making considerable progress with the ball teammate and support oh good defending to stop a decent looking attack now the quick Counterattack could be on well as you can hear the fans think that should have been a penalty but I'm not [Applause] convinced the delivery well no problems [Applause] defensively just 20 minutes remaining now and Liverpool regaining possession here well it looked so promising but a goal kicked the outcome and United will switch things around Personnel wise mount [Applause] hund and a good challenge to bring that attack to an [Applause] [Applause] end ball back with Liverpool now dangerous ball oh but claimed by the goalkeeper [Applause] Shaw an alert piece of [Applause] Defending Alexis MacAllister oh great attacking play well In fairness he's managed to redeem himself [Applause] casimiro and the shot and foiled by van djk he read the situation defensively and did his job well breaking it P Cas as always a [Applause] possibility having to take on the shot my goodness that save fully stretched he was one for his own highlights [Applause] reel well for the short [Applause] corner it's a perfect [Applause] challenge Rasmus hun well the counter chance looks very real [Applause] Endo nunz an effective [Applause] challenge [Applause] casimiro Corner given to United [Applause] playing it in and filed by Van djk appear to be in two mins well threat a vert it Ryan graffenberg and [Applause] reverse it well read we've had the official word there will be a minimum of two added minutes Mount well they know they need to stop him well nothing comes of it it looked promising Under Pressure here and there's the final whistle the Grim news from the Manchester United point of view is that United haven't picked up anything from this game well Derek that just wasn't good enough today a lack of a game plan too many players below par and not enough energy all around the pitch a really worrying performance for me and then the final analysis A really positive performance from this man Stewart well what more could you ask for he's build up play was clever his movement was Dynamic and he scored a couple of goals what a player he is [Applause]
