Manga Review: Total Eclipse of the Eternal Heart

hello everyone that manga kid here to do a review on total eclipse of the eternal heart by its soondae this is the same monica that gave us go for it Nakamura however this one is a complete 180 from go for it Nakamura which I also have a video review on if you're interested in checking that one out this one also a one-shot also put out by seven seas and also amazing even though it is nothing like go for it Nakamura I really really enjoyed it all the way through this one is more of a kind of mystery murder a thriller situation it is still boys love but it is very much plot heavy in trying to figure out what is going on I don't want to spoil a ton because I really think you should read this and it's much more fun to go into it with not as much information but basically this is the story of this boy here taro Michi I believe is is his name I think they're in high school and he keeps having this dream about a boy who was is from the past about a hundred years or so ago who is dying or being murdered by an older man he's calling sensei and he keeps having this dream and he's not sure why and he doesn't know what it means and then this new boy his name I don't remember is kind of befriending him and he's attracted to him but he doesn't really know what that means and there's something really strange going on but he can't put his finger on it there's a lot of murder in this a lot of quite brutal murder so if that is something that you are not interested in or squeamish about I would skip this one there is also sexual themes in this one it's pretty highly censored but you is there and it is very prominent at certain points in the story and it is less so a like titillating kind of sexual interaction and more so of a power-play and I don't I don't see it as something it's not like yeah where you're where you're supposed to be aroused this doesn't feel like that this feels like you're supposed to feel upset about it because it's part of this really overarching kind of disgusting behavior and it's controlling and it's not appropriate is is the feeling I'm getting that you're supposed to feel from this this isn't something that's supposed to arouse you so yeah it's really really good honestly I was confused but that's the point like you're supposed to be confused as stuff is happening because you're trying to figure out what's going on it did a really really good job in just this one short volume telling a complete story that felt that didn't really feel rushed it just felt like it was the right length I mean you could have stretched this out for a couple of volumes and really gone in more but it there's no need to like this really cover covered everything that it needed to in a way that was entertaining in a way that was really well done yeah it's definitely a boys love but if you're looking for something cute skip this one this one's not cute go read go for it Nakamura this one is cute this one is not cute yeah it's quite tragic and heartbreaking actually and it's yeah it's kind of about a serial killer with a bit of mystery and and I don't want like not necessarily time-travel but it's this like piecing together the past to figure out what's going right now in the present is basically what this is about I'm gonna show you some art in the front we've got some really really these ones are kind of disturbing but you've got this really pretty picture here and then there is some color pages right at the front that are really really nice I love soon days art it's very kind of old-fashioned style and I'm just trying to find something that's not a spoiler to show you what the art is like and everything kind of happens like right from the beginning there's no real because this is only one volume there isn't a lot of dilly-dallying which if you hate kind of a bunch of stuff happening that's not really relevant and this is a good one because honestly right from the very first page all the way through to the very last page it is completely packed full of the story there's no wasted time and it just completely tells you this this whole story in this one volume and I really really enjoyed it I don't know what else June day has has done but I really hope that we get more in the future because we've go for it Nakamura and total eclipse of the eternal heart I am I am really really hooked on on this Monica and and what they're doing because these are two very different stories and they were both equally as captivating equally as entertaining in very different ways and this one is so so good and if you're looking for just a quick kind of mystery serial killer graphic situation like this one's perfect you don't have to read like a 10 volume mystery series that that unfurls the plot throughout the whole thing this one does it really well in just one volume so I highly highly recommend checking it out if you have any questions please let me know if you have read this I'd love to hear your thoughts on
