officially back and nothing is a better indicator of that than a week one matchup versus the lynen wood Lions on the story grounds of Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City to help us get ready for the Kansas football season we'll be joined by our and your good friend Bryson Stricker we'll discuss the ceiling for this Kansas team the latest on Jaylen Daniels health and why Bryson thinks he could be a five-star high school football recruit how do we get there there's only one way to find out here's our conversation with Bryson Stricker Bryson there's a lot of KU football stuff we obviously want to get to but last week you went on an insane Twitter I wouldn't even call it a Ty raade because you weren't like super passionate about it but you were certainly confident talking about the idea that you would be at your current age stature and physical nature you would you could be an elite High School football player right now no I think you're missing a key point of that is that I need to be like 17 18 years old again it's like give me the strength 63 260 version of myself as a young lad so I can take a hit and not like die and be on like bed rest for a week my idea is that I will admit like if you lined if I went to like a you know rival seven on seven thing I would get cooked by all these kids there's no doubt the best players would cook me but I live in Kansas and like I'm telling you there ain't a single kid at Free State High School that's dragging me down one-on-one in the open field dude I'm telling you that as a as a fact okay okay but no I'm going to stop you right there because you said I'm reading your Tweet now if you went back to high school right now your current size and mental knowledge would you be top 25 top 25 football recruit in the country and then you quote tweeted somebody and you said at my size and Mobility I would dominate high schools in Kansas what is your Mobility because it's not something that you talk about say this I my cardio's gone cardio's gone and I I I think I said that in like one of my tweets my cardio's gone but I I can move a lot quicker than you think I can I promise you like I'm a downhill Runner like I I get going and I'm not stopping type of guy sneak my point is this my point is this Nick is that it's like I for sure would be like on the sideline my current self if I went subbed in for free state in two weeks I would be on the sideline after each play like with an oxygen tank that's what happened but I'm saying I'm 18 years old again but I'm what I am now sizewise and I have the dude I'm telling you if you think about it and I guarantee if you asked a a college football coach like how smart are these 18yearold recruit dude they're not they don't know that much about football they're just more athletic than everybody and what I'm saying is like if you think about the if you think about the fear that those kids have like I'm not gonna be scared of getting tackled by a 17 or 18 like I'm not I know that I am bigger and stronger than this person I'm smarter than this person and it's like a it's a men versus boy situation I would not be the fastest kid but I would dominate Kansas High School wait what position are you playing I I said wide receiver linebacker all right were you like hold on were you athletic because I actually don't know I was very good at and I have great hands I played baseball I I'm telling you this right now I am 63 There is not a single kid in Kansas high school football that is covering me and mind you I might not like score touchdown every point I'm not saying that by any means but it's like throw me the [ __ ] ball up like if I just go back to when I was in high school 11 years ago 12 years ago and I think about the kids are on my high school football team and starting on my high school football team like them in that current form are not covering me and like I just I don't think that's like a crazy statement by any means like I I I will say like top 25 is a stretch I I I will admit that top 25 was crazy I'm not saying is like I'm gonna line up I was looking at like the top receivers I'm not gonna line up next to these kids and look as good as them what I'm going to say is I am 6 foot three 270 pounds and moving at let's just say 4940 speed if you gave that to Nick Sabin and said you have an 18-year-old that is this big and can move this well and catch this well and you have four years to develop them they're like yeah that's a [ __ ] that's my dream receiver you know what I mean that's a dream like I am I have 50 pounds on all these other kids you know I mean and I'm 18 years old in theory my body can develop in theory I have more potential to get better whereas the truth is I have no potential to get better you even gone through puberty at this point yeah and at 6326 wide receiver like I would imagine the coaches are going to want you to trim down like yeah no 100 but that's doable I mean that is doable though you can't act like oh it's impossible for a kid to cut 40 pounds that's very no I no okay it's an odd hypothetical I will give I will say that I than you and mean I'll tell you this our our conversations with our team were very odd as well good TW it was a good tweet I I I'm telling you this right now dude could be I'm going to name him random kid I think Clint bonees kid still in college I would run Clint Bone's kid over like that and that's just that's a man versus boy situation that's not a crazy statement like if that kid walked up to me on the street I would run him over like that is a that is just a fact and so I don't think it's that crazy like my point is obviously like again I would be on have an oxygen tank on my face like I would be dead in real life like if I did that right now but I'm saying if I was an 18-year-old again with my current like mental knowledge and like you know willpower and competitive iess like I don't think 18year olds are as comp are as like competitive as they will 2122 even you know what I mean you're a big guy and I will say that you screwed me when you posted a selfie of us that day we met in person yeah from like this angle upward Looking Down K State fans still think I'm like really short that like 5'8 like 5 no I'm like 5 you're pretty short you're low average no you might be like a Dave Porto 510 that's like a Dave Porto 510 no no no I think I'm taller than you guys think we've both met you it's not like it's but that's not a madeup height where's my driver's can I go get my driver yeah my driver's license say six foot my my my numbers are on the screen my D 220 225 I'm above average I don't know what average is all right but there's nothing wrong with that okay I want to get I want to get into some KU football stuff so I saw this article on the Associated Press earlier today I was searching for something on Google and it popped up from ESPN it was an aggregated article from the AP and here's the headline it says this is the actual headline that shows up in Google and if you search Jaylen Daniels you'll find it injury-prone quarterback Jaylen Daniels to start for Kansas and when I read that I was like well duh he's going to start for Kansas the injury prone felt a little unnecessary that you needed to like throw that in but I do think as we are you know a week away from KU football starting it is kind of appropriate for where a lot of KU fans heads are at going into this season we talked about it last week Bryson just like no matter what you think is like the biggest storyline or your goal goals or expectations for KU all of it centers around JD's health so is he healthy yeah I mean I think he's as healthy as he could be like I mean it's I I think he's a his body in theory is in a fresh place you know and like I don't know you know you guys have seen all the discourse you know everybody's had an opinion over this on the past 10 11 months but I don't know I I think injury prone like you kind of said is a little aggressive like the injury he had his sophomore year um against TCU like anyone would have gotten hurt in that situ like he idiotically tried to throw the ball as he was falling and landed on his shoulder and like separated or you know whatever I'm not a doctor but it's like that would have H that happens all the time that would have happened to anyone you know what I mean and I look at last year obviously the back thing was what it was and obviously I don't think ku's messaging um of it helped with what Public public perception was going to be of the injury but it's like the kid got injured I'll say Jaylen D has had a season ending injury once who hasn't what quarterback hasn't had a season ending injury like in all honesty like you look like Jaden Daniels I think he missed the year when he was like all these guys like it happens Cole Ballard it's a good take good take um I don't know I just for me I think it's like really aggressive to say that and it's like you know obviously like K State fans are like the loudest ones about it's like Skyler Thompson towards ACL twice right he like I mean you it happens players get hurt and I don't know I'm just not ready to call Jaylen Daniels like injury from by any means like if you remember that 2020 season he got cooked every like he drop back to pass and get crunched and he played yeah half the like he and it's like I think people say like oh Jaylen Daniels hasn't played a complete season well that's because he was a freshman true freshman wasn't starting quarterback well his retro freshman year wasn't the starting quarterback like he's had two seasons where three seasons technically where he played every game he was able to play so I I don't quite know why people say that I mean it's a concern because again I I think the lack of clarity around the injury is is part of it where it was like what's going on can he play can he not it was just a storyline every week it's been a storyline for two years straight for him in a week on a weekly basis basically so it's a bit it is a bit unfair but it is like the number one concern on every K Fan's mind so like is what your understanding is that he is like good to go yeah normal normal I I mean I I I think if you had Jaylen Daniels on here instead of me um he would say they're gonna have to like drag him off the field to get him out of the game like I I I really think that's where he's at I think you would say I'm above average size okay let me ask you this then Bryson because you I think you would admit this you ride the emotion roller coaster of a KU season harder than anybody like the highs and the lows so I'm sure you've thought of every possible scenario as we get ready for this season like how much is JD's Health in your head about like what this team can do or what this season's going to go like um I mean I think it's really important um but for me it's like uh you know I just need to flip a coin and land on heads like I think Jan is getting injury is is is a coin flip I don't think it's like oh it's going to happen the second he gets hit um and so I I think like for this team to reach the goals I have and expectations I have he has to stay healthy there's no quarterback on this team that can take this team to the big tough championship game um besides Jaylen Daniels um but I will say I think this team is good enough that they could also take any quarterback to probably a pretty decent SE season like you know I said it last night on my spaces you think about it who's the toughest game on the schedule I'm sure you both agree who it is who is it Kansas State K State okay and guess who played at quarterback last year against Kansas State and almost beat them should have beaten them should have should have beaten them the beef kick Cole balard so it's like you can make an argument that like in theory we have evidence to believe that we could win any football game on our schedule this year with a backup quarterback yeah reality is that's not like that's not likely sustainable by like that would be a legitimate miracle that a walk-on former walk-on would lead his team to the Big 12 championship game having won four or five games a quarterback but I don't know I I I think this team um has a really high floor to begin with um but I think uh you know Jaylen Daniel's health I think will will be what will get us involved in December and January is Cole Ballard and I know you said this on on Twitter yesterday but is Cole balard ABS the the definitive backup quarterback I think for now for now yeah I I I really ride in the stance that I think if Jaylen Daniels goes down with no warning or with little to no warning I think Cole Ballard will undoubtedly be the quarterback that steps in Plug and Play yeah yeah but I think if something like that if Jaylen Daniels was to get injured out for the year knock on wood um you know very early on the season I do think there would be a world where they would switch to Marshall because I think Marshall gives them more I think the ceiling is higher and there also comes that just back intake that you kind of got to prepare for the future um as well even beyond that even Beyond like preparing for the future it's more of okay yeah we could say Ballard's the definitive number two which would mean if JD goes down he's 100% the guy that's coming in but how long of a leash is any backup quarterback in the country on you know like if Ballard comes out there and they suck that's a good point then they're gonna say okay let's give this other guy a shot like I feel like it's not even about the future more as it is like are you going to play well when you're in the chatter cheddar and Marshall's been pretty good yeah yeah what is what is the chatar I think zabowski is pretty impressed I I think like everyone I talk to says that like they're impressed with where he is so early on like I mean like I think they I I will say this I I think it's very shocking they did not get a quarterback out of the transfer portal in the spring and I think that a lot of that has to do with uh Marshall's progress because they I they like both of them but yeah I don't want to say Cole Ballard's like you know like got a ceiling or anything but it's like Co Ballard is not a five-star quarterback by any means and is probably not going to get drafted in the NFL so you know there is a ceiling at some point and I think their take is Isaiah Marshall's ceiling is far above that um and I think they're quite impressed with where he's at so far so I think that's I think that's right that that's my general understanding as well Nick who is who has been the uh who has been like the sexy name to come out of the summer and like the preseason practices all that like what's the name that has the most Buzz right now that's not you know one of the core guys I mean Deshawn Warner is up there I mean I think like he he went into Camp obviously with all the buzz because highest recruit we've ever gotten but I I think um everyone I've spoken to I think even the media guys who you assume are at least somewhat unbiased are like going to these practices and being like holy [ __ ] like this kid is making an impact and and the media gets a very very small snippet of what Li hold's willing to let them see and so I think them being impressed is huge everyone I've talked to has been more than impressed um I I think the other thing too is I know this guy's part of the core but I spoke about it yesterday is I've heard so much about Melo doson like PE people are saying like Kobe Bryant's the name everybody's talking about Kobe Bryant's the guy that's you know getting on the poster but Melo dodson's gonna be the guy that's actually clamping out there um and so I think he's going to be a guy that you know I don't think it's a surprise by any means everyone knows how talented he is but I think melod Dotson's actually probably going to have the biggest role on this defense um so I think him and I'm trying to think I think uh uh Trevor Wilson had a really good fall Camp too I I think like he was always going to be involved in the mix he's already been involved but I think you know there there is that clear top three at wide receiver but I think now you're I think you you may be have an argument that there's a fourth that is in that top three now so um yeah I think Trevor Wilson as well to top four top top three out top four in well we only play three wide receivers at once for the most part so it's it's kind of a tough situation but yeah I think Trevor Wilson will be very involved I didn't know we were talking lineup I thought we he asked he asked me sexy and I wased to know who the Buzzy names were talking Trevor Trevor Wilson Deshawn Warner Melo doson Melo doson yeah the it sounds like generally like the Freshman especially the or I guess in general and again we're GNA keep saying this you tweeted this but like defense is showing up there's optimism around the defense yeah I I talked go ahead go you go because I was just gonna ask in general so you go take it run baby take it run I talked about in the spring um you know I don't remember exactly who told me about this and then interestingly enough you know JK started writing articles about it shortly after but I think you're G to see a defense that's going to be more focused on making plays than trying to shut teams down or like you know hold the line by any means like this defense has faults they had faults last year they're gonna have faults if not more faults at times this year um but they have a very very skilled secondary um they have some Playmakers at defensive line and linebacker and why think you're going to see a defense that tries to make plays I I spoke about it in the spring but it's like I really think you're going to see like a 2018 esque defense out of KU this year where that team had two games they forced six turnovers and I think you're gonna see a team that tries to play that same way this year say hey might move 2018 teams defense had two games they forced six turnovers they I think they were like I think we were second in the country in turnover margin that year and mind you we only won three games you could probably credit that some of that to our quarterback situation our coaching situ situation and everything in between but I think you're going to see a defense that tries to make plays they will make plays I mean meel Melo dots and Kobe Bryant are Playmakers you got OJ burough is a safety's playmaker like JB Brown linebacker has had a [ __ ] fantastic year as well he's another name I should have mentioned earlier um like there's going to be Deshawn Warner I deshun Warner will have a couple strip sacks this year 100% I I I feel very confident that but Deshawn Warner might have a bunch of times where he gets shoved all over the field and you know can't get past you know their left tackle right tackle so um I don't know I I think this defense is going to be more focused on making plays and they have a ton of Playmakers and so I think that's going to be the key opportunistic defense kind of being aware of like self-aware almost like they know that they're not shutting teams down but if they can get a score in a game or that really like those turnovers which we've seen them that's all you can do in the 12 right yeah no 100% that is all you can do like it really is like true it'll be interesting to unless but unless you have and I'm trying to think like I mean Texas and Oklahoma both being gone like they're the only guys who can recruit at a high enough level to the point of yeah we're going to hold you under 20 this game yeah like the big 12 does not allow for that yeah what uh is there like a position group or a part of the team that you think that like worries you or keeps the coaches up at night but I'd say like you you care to the extent that I also would just say keeps you up at night like what what scares you I think linebacker scared me going into fall Camp um you know I'm not going to say that I don't have any confidence in like Taiwan Barry Hill who would have been like the most experienced player coming back in that group but I didn't have a ton and it sounds like he's been beaten out which I think um everyone I spoke to said that's a good thing it's a good thing yeah if you have a very experienced player getting beaten out that's a good thing um and so I I I I I kind of have more hope and optimism especially hearing how JB Brown's been but I worry about offensive line defensive line just in general but I also kind of like I don't know like you know I rewatched KU football highlights from last year our offensive line wasn't that great to begin with like we just have like we have a quarterback who's mobile we have running backs that are fast and can [ __ ] Juke people like our offensive line doesn't need to do a lot and I think Bryce Foster will be a huge addition that Center I I think that's the biggest G of the off season um and I know they've flipped cable doww and brown around um and I think that's because they needed to they felt they needed to so I don't know you got to feel somewhat confident in the group they have the worry starts to come when their injuries start coming I think that that would be my take on on both sides offense and defense like I think we have a solid starting group it's once those injuries start piling up can we afford those and do they have the depth we'll see yeah we'll see what uh what do you think is going to be the most noticeable difference between new OC Jeff Grimes and the offense we saw under cotal Nikki um down the field plays the wide receiver I think it'll be the first thing you'll see we I think people at times saw like you remember the big play you remember the big plays because we you know we would have one or two or three every game but it wasn't regularities it was a lot of like shorter stuff and they would make someone miss or you know Deon NE Neil would make a play or hit in tight ends like I I'll tell you I know the wide receivers felt they weren't properly utilized and I do think that Grimes um maybe feels the same and is properly utilizing them um I I I think those three wide receivers are going to do big things this year dude I I I think it'll they'll almost probably end up getting cannibalized by each other that like not one of them will have like that just absolute all-star year to really get named into those finalists and watch lists but I do think all three of those guys I mean that you saw in the bowl game I mean dude you I we watched the Oklahoma game highlights the other day dude they they made some [ __ ] snag that snag that Quinton Skinner had when he was out of bounds and like came back in bounds like off a Defender like dude these wide receivers are good and I think I think you're gonna see Grimes utilize them really well I'm getting torqued up like yeah now I'm like there's four receivers in the the coordinator will use them and there's Dev Neil and Jaylen Daniels and Daniel highshaw and then some tatted up dude at center from A&M in like a j don't [ __ ] forget jar Casey oh by the way I really want to figure out how to share my screen because KU football shared this graphic on Instagram of like all the seniors and they put a side by side of their freshman head shot and their senior head shot Jared Casey low-key hot now like he was just you can I found a share screen button uh present present it's going to be across the bottom here okay we're going to give this a shot um we're going to give this a shot jar I don't like Jared Casey being did you say hot yeah what was the word yeah I don't you're kind of right no he's like he's given like go on The Bachelor like 100% saying I that doesn't really want to pull this up I could be wrong I think Jared Casey's dating the girl that go Cas state which is something that maybe we need to unack on much larger scale at some point um at least he used to be I don't know if he still is but he definitely used to be it's also crazy that is J Casey still have another year no he doesn't no he doesn't I don't think maybe he does did he my fullback to be like fat and ugly so I'm not really chill with this and that's not personal I just I'm saying in general I'm deeply upset it's a bummer that I can't figure out how to is it not the present button I've tried you know make it your background make it your background okay I can actually do that that that's actually the best thing I can do here oh it makes me so happy okay you're gonna do that look I mean there there are weapons everywhere like how the question is the question I always ask we gonna be sick this year Bryon we're gonna be I mean he's a fth year so he's probably 22 23 I mean it's crazy he looks like a fullback though still he looks like a fullback I'm cool like a hot fullback you know like a KS check hot fullback you know and I think that that's what sucess that's what success can do for you is you're like hey you know new opportunities are afforded and it's about you know making the most of them I mean look at this guy look at this if you're listening audio only his jawline is popping no it's okay his jaw is truly Popp I'm going to ask the question that I think everybody's wondering has Jared cas had some work done okay I'm thinking that too Apple Beast the Apple Beast money be hitting bro I I actually think it's possible brys good for him you know what can you that looks like more like a just hitting the gym situation I would have to imagine Jared Casey was like a very lazy gym worker in high school like he prob just never had he's always stronger than everybody like high school obviously you're not like working out a ton per se and it's like he got into a strength program and took it seriously like that's that's really what it looks like so this is Jared Casey on the left here is who you would have who as you would have kicked in high school you know what I'm kind of coming around this is actually the question would you have been if in this hypothetical from the beginning of this combo would you have been a better High School football player than Jared Casey yes and I don't think that's because of like based on like athlete translation by I think a lot of that comes down to the the mental and like the wisdom is not the right word but just like the knowledge of that I have grown and have and like I'll say this like I was competitive I've always been competitive but like my competitive nature now at 29 is like a trillion times higher than it was at 18 and I was very competitive at 18 like I like again this is gonna be drastic I competitive to the point I I'm competitive to the point that I would like break something to win now and I would not have done that at 18 I don't think call that hot being a hot head I mean sure I'm not saying like break something in your body yeah I'm saying like I'll lower my shoulder and like break my shoulder to run like you turn around and you know punch the TV no I just think that when you're younger dude like there's so I I Al I'll give you this example this is what I said to my co-workers earlier if you take Jared Casey okay and he stopped playing football and just went to college okay and then when he's done with college came back back to high school was an 18-year-old playing football again he would be better than he was at 18 well yeah but yes I mean same like it's just in general like but that doesn't apply to you okay I'm not I'm not disag colge football well I'm I'm saying if he doesn't play college football though I'm saying you just take this guy you take this guy he'd be better than he was 18 just because like I think age does help you the problem is age also hurts you physically and while I'm saying thing is you've removed that like I'm not going to okay dude right now if I went out and played free state sure I might run someone over my shoulder would be like laying on the ground afterwards and I wouldn't be able to move the next day and I need to eliminate that and that's what my hypothetical is supposed to do you only get 280 characters 240 dude you know what I mean like yeah it's fair it's so much room to type with I like it okay content of the year that's good schedule schedule schedule schedule yes schedule I'm looking at uh the first month lyndenwood at Illinois UNLV at West Virginia is Ku coming out of the first month unscathed again we have TCU in there too don't we yeah TCU is the fifth game TCU is the fifth game but it is in September Bryson does know that it's within the first month yeah yeah that's it is the fifth game lowkey like tcu's I think TCU is gonna be good I think people are sleeping on TCU I don't think that that game will be a walkover by any means like I think like I don't think I think there'll be like maybe five walkovers for like a bit of term but like that t those TCU West Virginia games we're going have to dig in like 100% those will not be easy um but I I think we'll be undefeated after first month I think uh he really didn't have many walkovers last year no I mean after the first game of the year it's really just Cincinnati and UCF like those were the only games UCF like UCF like uh I don't know what the football version of shot quality is but UCF should not we should not have blown them out they just like turn the ball like they would move the ball and turn the ball over and then we had a punt return touchdown and then we'd have big play like UCF was actually kind of good last year and then we just we kind we kind of rolled at Illinois their quarterback situation was yeah Illinois the first half we murdered them and then K Nikki doesn't know how to coach an offense with a lead and next thing you know they're back and they call BS targeting and they're back in the game Watch Out Penn State fans told them Nicki you were on fraud watch and youat first fraud watch of the year I think Cal Nikki is our lifetime leader of fraudwatch nominations by I will say I could be wrong I think Penn State and West Virginia play each other next week I somebody dm' me about that and that will be interesting what do you mean they dm'd you like isn't it just like someone dm'd me and was like should we be paying attention to that like does that will that tell us anything about West Virginia or about like how good cotal Nikki is and or how offens will work against them and I was like I'm not sure that's like a direct equivalent because I don't think Drew Aller is good at all but it is interesting like you got to assume K Nikki will be doing some most of the stuff he did here there and so if like Pinn State carve him up mind you they have better players than us I'll admit that but it's like you know I think that's a good litmus test for how we'll do what if it's what if it's bad because we'll seen it I mean I guess but all right Bryson I'm going to put you on the spot here I'm assuming pretty confidently that you've already done the homework on this so I apologize if you haven't what are your favorite prop bets for KU football this season you mean well I mean there's only four like I guess there's like the running or the player stats Stu I am all over KU drop down to over eight at DraftKings when push at eight that is that in my opinion it would be mindboggling if we went seven and five or worse like that that would be genuinely [ __ ] mindboggling um I'm putting up the scary banners like I I just I I genuinely don't see how we don't win seven games I can't believe we live in a world it would have to be you'd have to lose out of the out of Jaylen Daniels your three wide receivers and Devon Neil and haaw you'd have to lose three of them I so who who are the five dog walks and then we'll go back to the to the props sorry you said they're five lyen wood Wood Illinois UNLV I don't think Illinois is good at all dude I don't tiet tiets for that the tickets for for that game we going for seven bucks dude but Road playing on the road's tough they're going for seven bucks on they're going for seven bucks on a Saturday night man $7 is $7 is nuts like I'm tell Royals that's like Royals tickets that's that's worse than David Batty Kansas football dude they're at least going for 10 or free like it comes up it's it's 10 or free there's no there's nothing between zero and 10 it's 10 are free $7 is s$7 um okay all right they dog walk that's fine yeah and then after that I'm in I'm trying to go through our schedule like okay I will say this I think Arizona State like there's every chance that game could end up being like super scary like I I genuinely do think that but I also think there's the same chance that we dog walk them like still I think it's like a dog walker trap sitch um K State no I'm just kidding um I will say I will say again I think Colorado is a game that like could lowkey be scary if they're healthy but I also don't see any world that that Colorado team is not an absolute shambles by the time they make a dhead like I I don't see like I agree I don't think there's any like I could see a world where shador is sitting out for the draft already Travis is sitting out for the draft like Dion's been fired like I dude that who okay then I let's end on this because I have one more question that I don't really think we touched on much um going back to the Jeff Grimes stuff yeah more downfield opportunities for the wide receivers they're going to be more involved how does that impact the Run game how does that impact Devon Neil like there's a lot of mouths to feed in this offense so can you have both can we have have the wide receivers being more involved and seeing another really productive season from Devon and Daniel and whoever else is in the back field yeah no I I I talked on this yesterday too like someone I talked to said like I think that you're going to see this defense or offense sorry not try and like carve people up but rather like Leverage them to make a decision do you want to stop the run game or do you want to stop them from being a to throw the ball and then you're going to see this KU team take advantage of whichever opportunity they're going to present um and I think at times you saw it happen last year year I think the Oklahoma State game is a great example where I think the week before we had run really well and everyone's like oh Devon Neil is gonna have a great day and blah blah blah we're goingon to run all over Oklahoma State and Oklahoma state had just gotten gashed the week before so they're like okay you know we need to stop the run and blah blah blah they come out to stop the run and we throw for 255 yards in like the first quarter like it was just like you know we just threw the ball all over the [ __ ] field and covered him up and I think you're just going to see KU execute that better like I I really don't think KU did a great job um of like doing that in the past like I think we just like like RPO or like what are we I I think just in general that you're going to see a situation where it's like I think you will see rpos obviously but I I really think you're going to see them say hey if you're going to line up in man coverage with our wide receivers and not have a safety over the top on both sides like we are going to beat you down the field all day and the second you start to back up and not pack the box Devon NE is going to run Havoc all over you and I I really I really think that's it's going to like come down to that at the end of the day and think you'll see a lot of the creativity that we had the motion stuff I think you'll see all that um I I really think this offense is going to be very multiple I think is the term that Jeff Grimes likes to use is there is there a reason Cen Nicki didn't do it didn't do that like quick do you know no I don't like that's just his deal I I I you know I think kcki is great and all but I I I really don't think that I will be surprised if coton Nikki has a ton of success at pen state that that is what I'll say about this I think he's a good offensive coordinator I think I'll be very surprised if he has a ton of success at Penn State like I I I think you could almost argue that our offense saw its peak under him last season like I don't think it would have gotten better unbelievable that our first fraud watch of the year is once again Andy Cal Nikki something Chang some things stay the same okay has awesome record prediction record prediction Bryson KU finishes this season with what record just regular season yes and then depending on what your answer is we can go 10 and two pass that 10 and two I think we will lose a game we should to a team we should not have lost like we will probably be like close to double digit favorites and lose to somebody and then we will either lose to Cas state or lose one of those first two conference games to TCU and West Virginia uh so is that good enough to get into the playoff uh good enough to make the big 12 championship game um I think 10 and two I think 10 wins will get you in I think uh nine will get you probably in like a four-way tie which will be interesting to see how that breaks out um I I think my take is like I really think the Kate game and assuming obviously the season's going well on the front and back end of this I think that K State game is really going to decide if we can make the playoff I think obviously it's the only real tough game so like we can't get blown out because if we get blown out we have to win the Big 12 because it's like these guys are fraud we will be on fraud watch if we get blown out by K State win all the other games or whatever we go the big tough championship game and we get like beat like Oklahoma state did this year it's like okay these guys are frauds they don't deserve be a playoff if we go compete with K State or even God forbid beat K State make it to the Big 12 championship game and lose I think we could still make the playoff um so I don't know I think that's kind of I'm team let's get to Arlington and deal with the rest later that's that's where I'm at all this so yeah we see and I'll say this I know there's a lot of playoff talk there is nothing more certain than if we do make the playoffs we will get absolutely boat raced in that second round like there has there has never been we will be Florida State vers Georgia this year that is like absolutely certain like that is like because if you think about it what will likely happen is we will get the four seed if we win the Big 12 and we will play the SEC runnerup which will be the five SE and let's take a second to think about who that might be we miss Georgia B I mean maybe missou I will say missou like the Rivalry would kind of give us more hope there but we will be 13 and a half Point dogs if not bigger um in that game and so we will get like [ __ ] pped but it'll be it'll be fun you know what I mean like like we were there that's kind of where I'm at on that it's like that's the whole point that's the whole point when they were when they were at when they were at a four team playoff and people always said well you know if you went 10-2 if you went N9 and three you don't deserve a shot like you're not good enough to play for a national championship and all we've ever said is that's fine but just give him the chance like yeah no one's saying that this the 12 seed is going to win The Natty just give them the opportunity to play for it like that's all yeah and I think people miss too that like it makes it end of the season more fun because when you when you've narrowed that list down to six or seven teams in week eight or week nine that can make the playoff like are going to make the playoff it gets lame now you're going to be a situation where dude the entire top 25 will have like an outside shot until like week 10 so I think that makes it more fun I think too like my take is like I think the first round will be really good the second round will probably kind of be [ __ ] shows and you'll have maybe one good game in there maybe like the four the 3 six might be good or something or the 27 game and then you'll have like good games good games again so I think it just added another round of good games and I will say alternate scenario the ACC uh the ACC second place team is like kind of not ass but like you know same record as us they win the ACC Championship game we win the big 12p championship game we get the three seed we play the Big 10 runner up you know who might be the Big 10 runner up Iowa sign me up I'm gonna say that if the three seed playing the six seed if we can play Iowa sign me up for Jaylen Daniels versus Iowa bro that's all I got to say Iowa buy stock now yeah I don't know I think this season is gonna be fun man that that's kind of
