Sling TV-100% FREE-What To Know⁉️

[Music] hey guys Freddy Tech back with another video from CFL Tech what we're looking at here today is sling free stream now we're on their website and we'll take a look at a few of the FAQs before we get started here with the review on our Roku device we'll take a look at the free channels that it offers and we'll look at the DVR as well we do have a free DVR included which free stream now we're seeing more of these uh Services offering more free channels and even a dbr like fubo so it looks like it's going to be a battle of the free streams here soon now very interesting because most of these companies have been offering live TV streaming services and still do but they also see the shift in the consumer um wants as far as getting more free content free ad supported content that is so let's go ahead and take a look at the FAQs and get right to it on this now what is sling free stream and it tells you here sling free stream is our free ad supported TV service offering 500 plus free live TV channels and over 40,000 free on demand shows and movies and it tells you a few of the titles there like Hell's Kitchen which is just about everywhere these days but then you have here more questions do I need to log in to watch uh sling free stream you do not need a sling account to watch sling free stream so that's cool there's a link right there to start watching right on the website and here it says you know it asks why create a free sling account creating a sling account is absolutely free and simple to do streaming while logged in with your account offers a more personalized streaming experience such as being able to favorite your go-to channels creating user profiles sending parental controls and more so that's a good thing to do if you want to create an account we did so we have the free DVR as well so it's a good idea to do that and has a few more questions here but we won't go into those so let's go ahead now and take a look at the actual app on our Roku and then we can see how this performs and how the channels look on the guide looks like they may have also updated the guide which is really nice um as far as the um menu goes or the side menu for the uh genres so let's go ahead and take a look at that right now all right guys we're on our Roku and we're inside the sling app now by default we're on the Home tab here on the menu on the left side we're not going to spend much time in the home section but let's take a quick look at it here while we're here now it has recommended for you top new arrivals mustsee Movies featured shows celebrate Pride action my Rec some recordings and we'll get to the DVR here real soon continue watching some sports there and sling premium packages streaming Hub so there you go we're going to go down the list here real quick we're not going to read everything off here because it becomes lengthy but there you go a good amount of stuff just on the home screen alone then you have Browse by Channel which is really nice so again this is the sling free stream you get free movies as well as the free TV channels which is really nice of course it's ad supported someone does have to pay for it so we don't have to so there you go now let's look at the guide and show you this grid style guide now what they did here with the guide which is a nice touch is they moved the um genres or Cate ories to the left of the guide they used to be on top with sling so this is easier to navigate and when you have one of these selected highlighted um it'll actually uh show you the uh channels in that category so we selected entertainment so these are all of the entertainment uh channels that populate the guide so that's a nice touch now you see that you know see this with other apps as well so it's a good reason to do this is so it's easier to do easier for the user and and there you go we're going to go through the list and that's to the Bottom now so a good amount of different categories so let's go ahead now into the guide again here and go to all and we'll take a quick look now there's a problem we notice when you scroll on the faster side um it seems like it kind of crashes the guide it brings you back to the splash screen for sling it says sling and then you have to go back into the guide don't know what's going on with that but if it happens during this video that's what's going on so just so you're aware of this in case you experience it so hopefully the sling Engineers do notice this and can get a look at this to see what's going on so there's a bunch of Fox News local news channels you also have ABC News on here quite a bit of content just with news alone which is kind of interesting that they have so much for no cost and then if you go down here you have the uh bunch of different you know you have comedy channels you have IFC you have game show channels which is really nice and again you can go by categories there's Comedy Central with Pluto South Park happens to be on so let's go into South Park here for a future episode let's go to the 10 p.m. hour and select this so when you do that now you're not getting the DVR option for some reason you have watch list in details so let's go back to another show and see if we can get the DVR to show that's kind of interesting that it's not showing there for some reason we are signed in let's go to fail army and there you go you have record uh add to watch list and details so let's go ahead and hit the record option so now you'll see some options here on the right side it shows here uh this episode only new episodes and reruns and just new episodes so let's select the uh this episode only so now it gives you a little notification in the top right corner says this uh it's recording this program season 1 episode 3 so there you go so let's go look down here you have some other options available now more like this live schedule and Extras so they have some more content just for that particular show which is really nice uh good detailed information here uh for free stream and there you go now you have the Red Dot showing in the guide that's shown that the show will be recorded so that's a nice little touch as well for free stream so that's a uh you know you don't always see that with all free and now DVR you know is becoming available for other free streaming services like fubo and you also have that with Pho so becoming more of a normal thing so let's go into Dog Whisperer here and we'll go to this and you see the same type of layout record add to watch list in details now let's go to the DVR section here in the actual um menu here so DVR there you go now you have a double layer menu on the left side just like Direct TV stream does now you have recordings you have DVR storage and trash now let's go to recordings now it's showing you the shows that we have recorded or upcoming now you have Hell's Kitchen Baywatch fa Army 50 verse 50 and you have Al so let's go into Al we know that was already recorded you had two shows there it shows you those listed and has delete or block or lock and then you have record options delete all and series info very nice detailed information so let's go up to schedule now we have these shows that we selected earlier and there you go you have the show that are listed that will be recording there's one we just selected right there fail army so that's now showing in the list to be recorded you also have cancel out recording and record options that brings up the same screen we saw earlier to show you the options so that's very nice let's go ahead and just uh try cancel and now it will give you an option to cancel it and you want to say uh yes so that will be now gone gives you a confirmation in the top right corner the recording will will now be cancelled so that's good to see so let's go to DVR storage now they only give you 10 hours with the free stream seems a little limited and it is but again it's free stream and it's better than no DVR at all down the road they will probably be adding more hours to this as the competition heats up free streaming TV is only going to grow as we're seeing now it's really getting hot as of recent so that this is a good thing to see so there you go you have 10 hours right now and then you have the trash here now they keep them in the trash for 48 hours after deleted so you have a little bit of time to go back to check out the show so a couple of days which is also nice so let's go back now to the guide and see what we get here now let's go into guide and there's another button here now you have this asterisk looking but button we'll put it up on the screen here for the remote for the Roku now if you hit this you also get um an option here let's go into uh let's go into another show here Iron Chef so let's highlight the iron shift that's on in this hour hit that Aster button and now you have the same record button record option so it's a little bit of a shortcut don't have to go into the show so this is kind of a nice little shortcut you just do a quick record option right there this episode only see now it's recorded and it shows you its hot red dot as well so very nice now we're not going to scroll through all of the channels because on the website that we were on at the beginning of the video they do have a list of all the channels and we have a little image of that here so we can see what it looks like as far as how the channels go that are that are offered so very nice amount of channels about 500 in total so very good selection here from sling free stream so what are your thoughts on this are you using sling uh sling free stream any other service like fubo free stream that fubo free um you also have Pho free so really good amount of options now you have Pluto of
