invite fol state senator Alexis White good evening this is a great honor to be here tonight I'd like to congratulate our Scouts and a huge thank you and acknowledgement to our parents and our troop leaders without you this accomplishment can't happen and I know I have an eagle scout son as well so I know it takes a lot of dedication a lot of time our Scouts need support and guidance to meet all of the requirements for this rank but more than that they need role models Scout must demonstrate Scout spirit and ideal attitude based upon the Scout Oath and law service and Leadership this includes an extensive service project that Scouts plan organize lead and manage all of which are nearly impossible to achieve without the solid guidance from engaged enthusiastic dedicated Scout leaders and parents and I know you have one because he lived right behind me and for years years all of his deliveries were coming to my house and being an eagle scout being an eagle rank means learning not just skills to earn merath badges but how to be a leader they too become role models for Scouts coming up through the ranks as each Eagle Scout moves through life they will find that this great achievement speaks volumes about their worth ethic work ethic their abilities and their character it will help open doors and always be a part of who they are are tonight we recognize the great achievement of these young men and congratulate them on completing a long and dedicated Journey [Applause] congratulations if I call you you'll come right they're in a different order so Patrick gleon [Applause] congratulations as as the senator said congratulations to the parents to the troop leaders to their fellow Scouts who have supported them and and worked with them on their projects and to their fellow Scouts the message is this this too can be you standing up here uh someday soon if you stay true to the mission of scouting and you work together with your scout leaders and your troop I I'll be glad to come back to your Eagle Scout of Honor in the future so to our five eagles Michael TJ or Thomas Patrick Noah and Christopher I present citations to you you go Noah and Christoper all right stand right here hold those up High boys [Applause] in order to earn the highest rank scouting has to offer a young man must live his life by the Scout o and the Scout Law their parents and Scout leaders have labored long and Faithfully to help them become aware and active citizens to the Boy Scout program to ear the higher ranks in scouting a scout has to spend a great deal of time and effort therefore the occasion that recognizes their accomplishment should be something special to celebrate having attained the highest rank scouting can offer we will review the trail they have traveled as well as the Scout Oath and the Scout Law and he us to tell them more about lighting the eagle Trail is Mr Pierre [Applause] I would like to invite our senior patrol leader Steven buril to escort the light that represents the spirit of scouting into our court of honor the light never goes out but lives in the hearts of all the true Scouts our festive occasions such on festive occasions such as this it is rekindled in the form of a lit candle Soul who see it may contemplate the true significance before the spirit of scouting embodies the principles of the Scout Oath and law in The Shining Beacon of the inspiration alone alone this light may seem evil but when multiplied by more than three million boys it becomes very powerful this spirit is the true source of all the good things in scouting far away looms the the ever ha outline of the lofty Eagle Summit flanked by the Lesser Peaks that represent the ranks of star and life yes to the newcomer they seem a long way ahead but as they come a lot closer the light from the spirit of scouting spreads the first rank in scouting is tender foot once inspired by the spirit of scouting he is not just a tend to foot for very long putting a few simple achievements behind him he quickly climbs to the to the rank of second class Scout even the requirements stiffen a bit he keeps climbing until the until finally he tops the mountains Ridge along the eagle Trail where he receives the first class award this is no place to rest for on the eagle Trail for now he clearly sees the Peaks ahead now a broad Mountain Meadow of merit badges challenge him he must gather six of them as he passes onwards towards the star Mountain he is further along the eagle Trail than he ever thought he would be and he is proud of his progress he realizes the benefits he has gained from his training in leadership and service a life Scout rank the next Summit along the trail seems far away our hiker rushes on working serving leading as he goes he he adds five more merit badges to his collection the further he climbs up the trail to the life Mountain the fewer companions he meets who are with him along the trail and the more effort he expends moving on our traveler has yet has attended another Peak our new life Scout has completed many accomp accomplishments but looking up the Scout beholds yet another Summit the highest of summit of of the range he knows it it must be eag Summit about which he has heard of many stories the trails Trail leads onward and and upward now for the now the path Narrows and there are even fewer Scouts on it towards the summit the path steepens considerably and and winds along the narrow Ledges many tough spots will will need to be overcome to conquer the last few miles he must find and gather 10 more merit badges as he goes about the task he is busy giving leadership to other Scouts who seek to climb the ranks of scouting themselves he is continually giving service to those who cannot go it alone but need a helping hand genuine persistence is required to reach the The Thrill of the Eagle Summit before continuing up the trail to that goal which is now very apparent let me remind you that there are many more mishaps in mountain climbing after you reach the top than there are on the trail upward one who achieves the highest peak the highest goal in scouting should never forget the rigor of the training that he has endured and the responsibilities of leadership and service that were part were a part of his success never forget that the Scout Law should always be fundamental in your life there are 12 parts of the Scout Law here to assist the troop with reciting the Scout Law is Mr salaza [Applause] Aiden can you come up please and Joe and Casey and jce and Michael probably easier if you guys are close All Right Aid whenever you're ready a scout tells the truth he is honest and he keeps his promises people can depend on him a scout is loyal a scout is true to his family friends Scout leaders school and Nation a scout is helpful a scout must be prepared at any time to Save a Life help help an injured person and share home duties he must practice doing good turns daily a scout is a friend to all he is a brother to other Scouts he offers his friendship to people of all Races and Nations and respects them even if their beliefs and Customs are different from his own a scout is courteous the Scout is polite to everyone regardless of age or position he knows that using good manners makes it easier for people to get along Scout is kind a scout knows there is strength in being gentle he treats others as he wants to be treated without good reason he does not harm or kill any living thing the Scout is obedient a scout follows the rules of his family school and Truth he obeys the laws of his community and his country if he thinks these rules or laws are unfair he tries to have them change in an orderly manner rather than disobeying them a scout is cheerful a scout looks for the bright side of life he cheerfully does tasks that come his way he tries to make others happy a scout is a scout Works to pay his way and help others he saves for the future he protects and conserves natural resources he carefully uses time and property Scout can face danger although he is afraid he is the courage to stand for what he thinks is right even if others laugh at him or threaten him a scout is clean a scout keeps his body and mind fit he chooses the company of those who live by high standards he helps keep his home and community clean Scout is Scout honors God he is faithful in his religious beliefs and he respects the beliefs of others thank you guys I'd like to invite Anthony arua duci to please come up in addition of the Scout Law the Scout must remain important in life of an equal Scout on my owner I will do my best to do my duty to God in my country to obey the Scout Law to help other people at all times to keep myself physically strong ment Lake and M Street Jo gon is L to three candles which represent the promise to remain physically strong mentally l and m Street will also light the Red White and Blue candles red which represents the blood spilled in defense of our country white for Purity and blue for the sky above [Applause] presentation of the Eagle Award is an important and serious matter for the eagle candidates before us tonight this is a climax of their scouting efforts for several years let me point out the attainment of this award is made possible through the assistance of those with the candidates tonight his Scout Masters troop leaders fellow Scouts parents family friends and members of the community this is an occasion for pride and Jo as well as a time for serious reflection the eagle is the highest rank that scouting offers to Scouts it is earned through an advancement program The Eagle candidates here on stage tonight have distinguished themselves to their continued continued performance of active active service and scouting they are trained and practiced in their leadership abilities and they are marked by the character gain through an understanding of their citizenship and religious beliefs it is important that each of us understand the meaning of the Eagle badge the appeal of the Majestic eagle has been felt by every great people from prehistoric times to the present day to the Egyptians the eagle was the messenger to the gods and the Sun a symbol of eternal life to the Romans it was the carrier of Jupiter's Thunderbolt and a sign of power to the Native Americans he stood as the incentive to Valor and the pledge of victory for us today the eagle is a living symbol of all courageous and freedom aspiring Americans the Eagle badge was initially designed in 1912 as a small Silver Eagle suspended from a tricolor ribbon of red white and blue so it has remained trustworthiness is the first obligation of an eagle scout he knows that being trustworthy is the very first point of the Scout Law for a good reason as an eagle scout lives honorably not only because of the vital significance of the example he sets for other Scouts but also because living honorably reflects credit upon his home church and his community may the white of the Eagle badge remind you to always live with honor the second obligation of an eagle scout is loyalty to both God and man years of service in the troop help develop Devotion to family community country and above all else God May the blue of the Eagle badge remind you to always remain loyal the third obligation of the eagle scout is to be courageous courage has always been a quality by which men measure themselves and others to a scout bravery means not only the courage to face physical danger but the determination to stand up for what is Right trusting in God with faith in his fellow man he looks forward to each day seeking his share of the world's work to do so May the red of the Eagle badge always remind you of Courage the fourth obligation of an eagle scout is to be cheerful to remind the eagle scout to always wear a smile the Red White and Blue Ribbon is attached to the scroll of the second class Scout award which has its ends turned up in a smile May the upturned ribbon of the Eagle badge always remind you to maintain a cheerful position the final obligation of the eagle scout is service the eagle extends a helping hand to those who still toil up scouting's Trail just as others helped him in his climb to Eagle the performance of The Daily good turn takes on a new meaning when he enters a more adult life of continued service to others the eagle stands as the protector of the weak and helpless he AIDS and Comforts the unfortunate and the oppressed he upholds the rights of others while defending his own he always will be prepared to put forth his best you are deserving of much credit in having achieved scouting's highest rank but wear your award with much humility ever mindful that the eagle scout is looked up to as an example may this scout oath and Scout Law be your guide from today onward gentlemen at this time we would like to present you with your Eagle Scout keep working on your community maybe Logan will learn something fre tonight our community celebrates these five [Music] back it all started with Patrick our own Scout Handbook Patrick was going to be an eagle scout he knew the knots the patch placement on the uniforms Which churches had air conditioning during the summer Mar batch series Patrick knew the workbooks what was needed for rank advancements and was dragging Noah with them no matter what Noah's Choice was Patrick and I have been arguing since 2011 some of those arguments may have included shaving his head a baseball bat driving away while he walked to my car sneaking chicken nuggets onto my plate and threatening to give him to the church group at the next camp site over to us you are smart you are strong you are capable I am proud of you and I look forward to turning your children against [Laughter] you Chris has always been the quiet and calmest of the group I appreciated how he would take his role seriously and when he decided to make evil his hard work was impressive Chris put his heart into it he wanted to learn and he wanted to show others so they've learned Chris you are smart and you have accomplished this goal you are going to accomplish so much more and I am so proud of you please remember this life advice dancing for lost children is a one-time thing next time CPS gets involved Michael Michael and I didn't get to know each other until summer camp of 21 his personality and Leadership ruled the summer as I was extremely impressed I questioned how this beaming young man's uniform was duct taped to his head while he himself seemed to have it put together and I learned to Just Go With It Michael always cheered us up even when someone was threatening him for his phone with Patrick's bat over a dinosaurs game annoying soundtrack of course Michael was going to be an eagle scout I mean come on it's Michael personally responsible for the group serotonin levels Mr Sunshine TJ Caputo TJ is 76 his very own Swiss army knife TJ can do anything he can build it he can throw he can build it he can fix it he can throw sticky octopuses on the dining room ceiling that remain 2 and a half years later if the world ends up if the world ends look for TJ to keep you alive I do however have several receipts for L'Oreal box color medium to dark brown that I'm requesting reimbursement for as TJ's procrastination has caused me to go gray kid you can rule the world or go build your own just don't think it over too much go and do it right now Noah Noah is the funniest member of the group whose focus on geography taught him the difference between the Midwest and the Middle East you survive the horse ship marit badge you hiked 7,430 Mi once in New Mexico uphill both ways Barefoot because your friends made you do it you're so smart so capable and so likely to rant at Patrick to pass a cat to your allergic friends to wrestle Joe when there was paperwork to do to complain that TJ was too old Michael was too distracted Chris was too serious and Pat was too fat and lo wasn't helping enough fellous on behalf of your parents families and friends we are so proud of you we love you and we are ready to support you during your next goal be the next set of impacts personally and selfishly I would like to thank you for having me as a part of your journey and as a part of the side quest on my honor with Scout is no snitch for teaching me the meaning of plausible deniability fun medical facts about high blood pressure and how terrible Domino's Pizza is be when my parents couldn't he also gave me that tough loving that was needed for letting me fail at times that was good to fail and help me when I needed him he taught me the skills I knew and oh he Tau me the skills I I I learned that I could then pass on to other Scouts and also those car r after summer camp are probably the best conversations I've had in scouting I mean they were something I appreciate every every car drove me home for summer camp he also he's also on that got me the hiking which I love so dear much Uncle Robbie thank you man I love you love you too Budd now even though he's not here I want to thank my cousin Eddie he was definitely one that pushed me to come Eagle he was that competition I needed in life and growing up and everything he was that older cousin that I can look up to and go I want to be better than him I want to get to his level and be better in the most loving way I can say that possible he was that push I couldn't let him be the only cousin that got eag someone had to step up and compete but Eddie I they not here love you and now oh also thank you uh you four other four up here Don Colin good times that guest had with you great love you all but now I'm not done now I want to bring the focus to you Scouts in the crowd all you back there you over there separated when I was in your seats so many moons ago back in my day everyone always said it's it's great to be an eagle it's you got to get it it's good but no one ever really gave you an example why why why why become Eagle why do all this extra work all the paperworks all this projects to come Eagle well I've well I'll be I'll be a eagle for a year in about three days and well I'm glad because all the skills I've learned from being an eagle have already helped me and I want to tell you these how it already how it has already helped me in just not in a year yet already helped me I just went across a trip sailing on a boat for 75 days and the skills I learned from being in Boy Scouts become an eagle helped me gratefully all the communications the Teamworks just leading it really does show off you can see when you talk to a lot of guys working they just they're not good at working as a team but where like I felt myself it was was easy to communicate and help get along with everyone like I mean when it was waking up at 5:45 in the morning to do cleaning stations clean the boat I was able to communicate okay you clean that letter while you clean that hallway I'll clean the bathrooms get done so we can go back to bed or when it was with working on engines oh to blow down an engine I'm not sure you guys know what that mean but when working on this boat when I'm giv from an engineer something I got to do I can I'm able to communicate it and bring it to my other buddies we can work on efficiently where I want to get with this is that oh Al before I get that part when we first sorry when we got back to the us back from this whole trip all the older classes that were leading us left and that was just us someone was ranked in charge but he wasn't doing a good job I kind of saw that how we were cleaning up this boat fixing things at the last minute was not going well and naturally I I started I got involved I started pointing things out rearranging and then in my head when I was doing that I thought wow I want to thank Boy Scouts because kind of it felt like summer camp right there how I was rearranging and fix things get things done more efficiently I had an A Day worker engineer come up to me and go he stopped going to the kid in charge he came to me and he said listen you know what's going on and you're you're now he he B said you're in charge because I was able to leave this properly than what was done and he even asked me he goes are you n guy I said yeah he was one too and he was like I could tell by the way you're able to lead and get things flowing smoothly why I wanted to BL Bond about that was saying that all this hard work that you got to go through to get here does pay off and it's it's worth it you might not see it now but as someone not that much older than you guys and it does I've barely been to Eagle for an year yet a year yet and it pays off thank you but real quick I do want to bring up my mentor pins right do that yeah okay Chad Mr rodri Bri Mr barck Mr Sweeney and unabi please come [Applause] up I thank you improve myself than [Applause] hi uh i' like to start off by saying thank you for being here today to share this special moment with me becoming eel is a significant milestone in my life uh one that not only marks the end of a long journey but the beginning of an adventure with hurdles and many struggles to overcome looking back on my road to Eagle I'm reminded of some of the incredible experiences that uh that brought me here one of my favorite along the way was our trip to filmont for those you who don't know it's 12 days of us hiking through New Mexico 13 of us a completely incredible experience uh thr all amazing views early mornings hikes that took longer than expected storms of mosquitoes God awful out houses and uh 12 days in the same underwear we made it you know somehow uh but working through working and Hiking through all that we uh came out with some skills that I'll bring to do the rest of my life uh self-reliance teamwork and most importantly leadership uh one of my most important lessons I've learned on that hike was that as a crew leader you're nothing without your crew uh not one person on that hike brought something everybody brought something to that hike that no other person could have and we're a little bit of a group of Misfits but we made that work better than anybody I know could have and uh it's been an honor to to lead them be a new patroler lead our troop and as well as lead our crew through that hike that hike wouldn't have been able to happen without a couple of the adult leaders that came along uh Mrs manwin Mr chacho Mr Duran and my dad as well as all the adults that helped on the planning and training hikes Mr barck and Mr Sweeney I could I could uh thank them for almost all my hiking skills uh and Mr rodri who I know wasn't easy to plan that trip and we wish you would have been there and I know you and savy would have loved it we miss you guys today's not just about my journey it's about the people who have got me here uh I want to take a minute to express how thankful I am to those help me to this point first and foremost I like to thank my parents the support motivation to get me here when I wasn't so thank you I also like to thank all the sco Scouts of troop 76 as senior patrol leader between camper summer camps weekly meetings I've learned a lot from you I really hope you guys have learned as much from me as I learned from you it's not one Scout in The Troop that I don't have a memory worth learning from and remembering and I don't think that's something a lot of people can say say I consider that a pretty big accomplishment in itself uh I want to extend a thank you to all the people who helped me cllean my Eagle Scout project between the fundraising and building the project itself I would not have been able to to to build that bridge without any of you guys one of the people that deserves a special thanks is uh Miss Bri there really aren't words to describe our gratitude and thanks for how much you helped not only me but all five of us complete Eagle between holding meetings every week being available 20 pretty much 24/7 and helping us always around an already crazy schedule are only some of the things that you did to help us so thank you [Applause] Bri lastly I'd like to to thank all the Scout Masters and Troop leaders that helped you that helped me and all of us through uh this journey thanks to the guidance wisdom and patience you have taught the values of leadership service and integrity I'll carry these throughout my life as a career as a teacher a special thanks to Mr gleon Mr solazo Mr barck Mr Sweeney Mr cassor Mr Pierre Mr brimo Mr rippert Mr rodick Mr brle Mr Baker Mrs uh Johnson and Mrs gone this trop really couldn't function without any one of you guys so really thank you so much uh lastly to wrap this up I'd like to encourage every kid to find their thing some it's Athletics some it's art for me it was scouts uh scouting was not appreciate all your hard work thank you not to mention all the friends and families here today dedicating their time to celebrate our achievement of reaching Eagle rank from the bottom of our hearts we're truly grateful I recall enrolling into Cub Scouts all the way back in first grade it's hard to comprehend the fact that I've been a part of Scouts for 12 years nearly my whole life transitioning from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts was a pinnacle moment in my life I was beyond excited for what lied ahead and I'm glad to admit that my expectations were fulfilled joining troop 76 was quite possibly the smartest decision of my life every single camp out hike merit badge rank advancement an event was made possible thanks to our leaders Mr P Mr solazo and Mr rodri took the position of scout master to ensure everyone had the best experience and were forever in your debt thank you while we were well we're on the topic every adult here deserves praise for taking a role as a leader or volunteering this whole Foundation is built on your devotion thank you guys so much without a doubt the most memorable part of Scouts was the twoe trip to New Mexico last summer I was horribly hesitant at first questioning if I could physically or mentally handle the scorching heat while lugging 40 pounds on my back and the sheer thought of not seeing my cats Henry Gus Megan a stitch for two weeks terrifi just my cats I would just only miss my cats me to say that the trip was an experience of a lifetime and I'd return in a heartbeat every day offered a new adventure and I'm lucky to have the opportunity of sharing that moment with my beloved friends who are on on stage except go achieving Eagle proposed several challenges ahead earning a handful of required badges holding leadership position demonstrating traits of your scout spirit and passing your V review but the most difficult T was the project that required giving back to the community it took a lot of thinking but I settled on building a shrine dedicated to St Francis at St John's in Oakdale which was fitting considering my confirmation name is Francis the whole process proved to be a hassle but the results were worth it and it's clear I never would have made it this far without the assistance from my friends and family for starters I'd like to thank all the following adults who help with my project Mr Gaul Mr aamon Mr and Mrs gon Mr gleon Mr rodri Mr quinstar and my mother and father thank you guys so much for helping out and I can't forget all the scouts who helped fundraise and construct the project without your help this would have never been completed uh honorable mention to Logan he showed up last minute when the project was done but it's the thought that counts thank you love useless freak love you but what really makes Scout special was my friends I've known these guys for nearly my whole life and it was an honor going on this journey together thank you guys I love you guys you love [Applause] you lastly I need to thank my family their encouragement fueled my passion to reach my goal my grandmother always brought me to merit badges and made time on her schedule I really appreciate it my aunt and uncle opened their house to me and helped build the kner for my project my father volunteered as a cub scout master and participated and held in all the events my brother despite being a pain in my back and constantly pushing my buttons I swear to always be involved once you join this tro to ensure that you will earn eego and be obligated and forc to say nice things about me doing your sale last but not least my mother thanks all right moving on I'm kidding my mom played a crucial role throughout my whole history in Scouts words cannot describe my gratitude she deserves nothing but Applause for everything she's done and I would not be staying her today without her thank you Mom I love you [Applause] hopefully I made my point come across that I appreciate you all my journey to becoming an eagle scout taught me lessons and created bonds that I'll cherish forever I know I've repeated myself several times but I need to say this one last time thank [Applause] you find my Eagle pins all right the following people that I mentioned please come up so you can receive a pin my mother Mr gleon Mr rodri Mr baric Mr Sweeney and Mr R [Applause] than okay good [Applause] job thank you everyone for uh coming here for our you Scout ceremony I really appreciate me the world first I would like to thank my leaders who have helped me on my journey thank you very much to Mr Pierre Mr solazo Mr and Mr rodri without my Scout Masters there would be no troop no camping trips and no Eagle Scout ceremonies so thank you so much to these people who made the Trump uh troop run so smoothly I would I want to give my heart to you guys thank you very much I would also like to thank Mr baric Mr Sweeney Mr Ripper Mr brimo Mr Baker Mr casar and Mr buril these were very important leaders that helped me along the way to Eagle Scout and just helped me in general to become who I am today thank you very much a special thanks to Mrs gon Mr gleon and Mrs Bri Johnson with their help and support I made Eagle without it I wouldn't be here today so thank you very much all right now I'd like to touch upon summer camps I've made some of my best memories at summer camps and some very funny stories too starting with my first summer camp where I brought Gatorade into my tent and I got overrun by ants sorry Mikey sorry yeah um to my last summer camp where I lost four I mean found found four of my several Scouts who got lost wasn't my fault all doing search and rescue merit badge uh I recall being very skilled in finding them acally stumbling upon them on trail and doing a real search and rescue but some would say that I was just really lucky summer camps have been the most important camping trip for me because it was a week in the woods with my friends learning survival skills and life skills and to that I would like to thank all the people that made it happen moving on to towards filmont my 23% of filmont because I got sick I don't know how or why but got really sick unfortunately it was cut short due to some kind of illness but I still had a great time I enjoyed seeing the milkyway Galaxy on trail with my bare eyes and with telescopes that was really cool um kind to see a bunch of constellations too and you know just enjoying the Countryside of New Mexico it was great time fantastic I loved it I wish I could have had the rest of the experience but the 23% that I do have I'm going to carry with me for the rest of my life and another very fun story from filmon more so Colorado than filmon I was able to build a snowman in the middle of July crazy um now the most important part of achieving Eagle Scout is to project I would like to thank the leeway school for allowing me to do my project there I'd also like to thank everyone Scouts and my family and my friends to helping me get my project done means a lot thank you guys very very much finally I would like to thank my family and friends from everyone there to the start to the people I met along the way every one of you had had some kind of impact on me and helped me get eagle and influenced who I am today thank you very much much special thanks to my parents for signing me up to Cub Scouts and I would like to give a huge thanks to my father who inspired me to become a Boy Scout because he was a boy scout himself so thanks Dad love you and now I would like to give out my mentor pins to Mrs Johnson re Johnson and Mr gleon without their help I would have never made Eagle because they really pushed me along the way and kind of a pain in the butt but a good kind of pain in the butt because I'm very happy where I am today so thank you very much and I would like you guys to come up so I can give you you [Applause]
