in a terrifying moment at Yankee Stadium on Sunday baseball umpire Nick Marley was carted off the field in a neck brace after being struck by a piece of Gian Carlos Stanton's broken bat the bat splintered during Stanton's swing and although it initially remained intact it broke in two at the end of his motion a piece of the bat flew towards Marley striking him on the side of the face with enough Force to knock his protective Grill to the ground the shocking scene left players and fans alive in concerned as Marley was quickly attended to by medical personnel he was then carefully placed in a neck brace and transported off the field on a cart underscoring the seriousness of the incident
