and we're also following some breaking news about the USGS saying a 4.7 magnitude earthquake hit the area with an epicenter north of Malibu ABC's Melissa Adon joins me now from Whitewood California Melissa let's start with the earthquake what are you hearing about that uh yeah so Diane ini initially we got reports of a 5point magnitude earthquake that came in in fact I'm out here covering the wild fires and so we were up in the mountain area and we've moved down here in San Bernardino County kind of some of the foothill areas and I got an alert on my phone that's the myshake app that alerted me that an earthquake was happening and then in fact of course that's when the report started coming in started hearing uh online of the chatter of exactly where we saw this earthquake but then we've seen the reports now get downgraded of the magnitude and size of that earthquake about about 4.1 that we're reading so that's going down but it was hitting in Malibu and so that's always what's really interesting Diane even where the epicenter is right he went down from Malibu we had reports all Ong the coast here of through Los Angeles even down to Long Beach of people feeling it and then in some of the Inland communities it can be kind of powerful at what point where you are that you can feel a quake
