in plate hitting main thing is to watch the [Music] ball the traditions of hunting and baseball run really deep in America and this is a project where I can combine [Music] both Carlos hit me up uh few years ago actually when he was pitching for the white socks Carlos rhan he struck him out oh and a primal scream from Carlos your first strike out of the night that's getting it done he signed a contract with the Yankees and they were moving to New York and building their own house and they were looking for a custom piece of art and so that's why they contacted me as a kid I played baseball I did the whole Little League thing just like a lot of kids in America um as a dad I'm coaching that now nice at the same time you know teaching them about the outdoors and and teach them to deer hunt squeeze great shot good job man and so we're kind of in a cool phase of life where all those things are are tying together obviously Carlos has taken baseball to a way different level that most of us never get to experience and also he's a he's a DieHard Deer Hunter I enjoy working with people like that that that have have become excellent at their craft but also are are big enough fans of Art and and Wildlife more importantly that they want to work with [Music] [Music] me we're kind of Midway through the the painting I've been working on it for a week you know this one of the biggest if not the biggest I've ever done I can't paint on the entire canvas at the same time making sure that some of the colors I use on the far right side of the canvas work on the left I've got to paint here move move the canvas over and then paint over there that way we that way it looks like a completely uniform piece uh I've painted Carlos's rack uh from one of the deer that he shot in Indiana on here just got it roughed in it's going well it's just uh it's just a big piece and so I've just got a lot up got to keep cranking on it got to keep working on it it'll get there it's just going to take some time they requested a floater frame which is it looks like this and you have a art piece that kind of just kind of floats right in there so a lot of you have seen that it's real modern awesome man this will work great it turned out really nice we are very pleased with the outcome the wall color that they chose in the room it's called Vintage Vogue and I will actually pour some of that out and mix and match some of my oil paint to that and then I'll put little inflections and highlights of this color the wall color in the piece [Music] we're really close now we just have to take it down uh the final lap and I'm excited about it the final stage of this is going to be we're delivering the piece in New [Music] York a [Music] tur got my workout in this morning and I try when I'm on the road to keep my same daily routine we got a big day today so we about to go wake these kids up zero chance there Qui so this experience was really unique for me and the best part about it I got to bring uh my family along Kim and the kids it's an honor for me to be able to provide those kind of experiences to my kids through Carlos and Ashley so I really do appreciate being a part of it and it's something I'll always remember and I've got a a signed baseball by Carlos in my studio to always remember it by so every time I see that ball I'll think about this trip like always we really appreciate you guys being here and following along and we should have a lot more projects like this coming up to take you guys along through the process uh be sure to check out Ryan kirby.com and have a great Dear season take a look at the way the rub holds that ball there's a tip for you fellas who want to learn how to pitch wow wow so how you going to shift that we're driving it
