or intelligence is the key to unlocking our for a more perspective on these rookie QBs we bring in our seasoned QB Tim Hasselbeck and let's start with Caleb Williams uh he only completed 14 passes less than 100 yards struggle maybe putting it lightly why do you think it was so difficult in his deut that's a good question Michael I think the reason was probably just bad in totality was because got off to a bad start and I thought from that point really never felt like he was able easy throws and so I think the best way I could describe it is that just it looked like he was playing uphill the entire game and um you know sometimes as a quarterback probably like a basketball player seeing you know a foul shot go you know you know go through the hoop uh he just never had those moments to try to get himself on track yeah but if you're a Bears fan and you're starting quarterback struggle like that and you still get the win obviously you're still hopeful that he can only get better for him going forward let's go out to Denver with Bo Knicks look he kept them in the game but he he threw a lot of passes but if you put them all together not a lot of yards 138 yards on 26 passes what about his debut stood out to you yeah I would say this I thought he had the toughest task of any of the rookies you know going to Seattle you know defenses are usually ahead of offenses early in the season and I think you're asking for some bad things to happen which they clearly did now I would say for him probably the building block for him is some of the things that he was able to do just moving around you know did run the ball um you know a couple times well and I think that's something that they'll build on in Denver hey he looked good in the preseason he earned that starting job no question about it but again it's just week one and you'll see maybe what Shawn pton does with him going forward so if Broncos fans can have a little more confidence about what's going to happen uh much more from Tim Hasselback coming up a little bit later here on Sports Center coming up next passes one you slip and still was able to get it out there right in stride in the Bread Basket goddamn through he should he shouldn't have done that many you heard me say don't make a don't make a bad play worse take the sack son yeah yeah he was trying to make he made it happen for the Bears you see that's what he wanted you say he wanted try to make something happen he made it happen for the Bears yeah he he wanted that he wanted that uh the Bears won the game despite generating 148 yards of total offense special team they had three field goals by CYO Santos uh a block punt uh that safy Jonathan Owens and a pick six uh look he won um I think Kyler Murray in his rookie season I think he tied in was 2019 2019 I think 2019 2020 when they tied uh I think they tied Detroit but all the rest of the number one overall picks quarterbacks have lost in between 20 2002 in 2024 and Caleb Williams and David Carr were the only two to win wi number one overall draft picks yeah um so give give him credit for that they they were able to pull this off Chicago's defense looked really really good very that defense looked really really good um you know he missed Keenan Allen he had Keenan Allen for a touchdown he overshot Keenan Allen Caya Williams there Keenan Allen dropped one too now yeah look look out right right in the in zone but uh they they'll get it fixed they they they'll get that uh uh get that uh uh comfortable and uh but Caleb Williams wins his debut oh Cho three years after kred Lamar guested during the Dr Dre Super Bowl halftime performance he'll headline his own halftime show at Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans rap music is the most impactful genre today and I'll Be
