the it factor to you I believe Tua does he hasn't shown that yet in when in the moments where it matters most I think in a regular season we saw when Mike McDaniel got there we saw different side of Tua so I was there in 2021 with Tua when B Flo was the head coach of that team and I think to your Point CC of Tua is saying that because Tua had to find that belief in himself because those first few years in Miami he probably didn't know if he still had that it factor that he believed since probably Pop Warner days that he had so I look at it for him it was kind of been a slow Bill since McDaniel got there of like no you know what I do have that if factor I can be that guy to lead this team and go further in the playoffs and actually make a run at the Super Bowl so I do believe Tua has that it Factor uh it's just a matter of now we saw that game in Kansas City or was Freez and cold they got to be able to battle the elements and still be able to come through Jason one of the more under the radar contract disputes in the NFL has been Jamar Chase with the Cincinnati Bengals he executed a hold in yesterday we had a development he was a limited participant in practice what does this mean for the Cincinnati Bengals how important is it to have Jamar Chase on the field for them in week one it it's a huge deal for them they're going against the New England the Patriots and Demarcus Covington is the Patriots defensive coordinator he was there in 2022 when they played against Joe burrow Jamar Chase and these Cincinnati Bengals and they double team Jamar chase a ton in that game I think T Higgins had like eight catches for over 120 yards you look at that that offense if Jamar Chase is out there the defense has to pay attention to him that opens up stuff for T Higgins if he's not there I would expect the Patriots to go there and say you know what we're taking T Higgins away and Yosi Vos is going to have to step up and Jermaine Burton's gonna now you're asking guys to do more than what they've shown in the past if you have Jamar Chase there now this offense is hitting on all cylinders Jason it's Football Christmas we're opening up the regular season tonight we have a huge matchup AFC Championship Game rematch between the Chiefs and the Ravens yes it's week one but how important is this game for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens tonight versus the Chiefs it's important to your point is week one you want to start the season off on a good note I don't I don't want to make the game bigger than what it really is if the Ravens go out there and they lose this game to Patrick Mahomes I don't want to start right or orbituary and saying well you know what the Ravens can't get to the Super Bowl they still can't beat Patrick Mahomes it's week one we watched the Chiefs last year go out they lost week one to the Detroit Lines and then they still ended up going two PE and winning the Super Bowl so I do think it's a big game we're all going to talk about the conference Championship where they fell short but it is just one game and you can always say week one can be a liar team that comes out on fire next thing you know they lose the next however many games and the skip over that one but it's not going anyway so one of the big things that we got this year in the off season was these rookie quarterbacks everybody's excited about Caleb Williams Jaden Daniels and Bo Nix who to start out there with the Denver Broncos now over the last three years there have been 13 first round pick quarterbacks that have loost and and of the 13 12 of them has lost their first start so looking at the rookie quarterbacks on the Slate for this week one who has the best chance at being able to get a win I like Caleb uh going against the Tennessee Titans I I think we've said it all off season what Caleb Williams is walking into as a number one pick you don't typically see where you have Aroma dunza you have the guys that they have Keenan Allen you have DJ Moore that they just gave more money to so you look at what he's walking into the running backs they have and getting Swift there I feel like he has an opportunity to start week one off fast uh he was thrusted into that position early on so he's been getting all of those reps seeing those looks the Titans have a new defensive coordinator a new head coach they have a lot of new on their team as well as they out so I would say I like Caleb Williams to be able to do it in week one fairly or unfairly the measuring stick for a lot of these rookie quarterbacks is going to be C.J strad who had an excellent rookie season last year but now that the NFL has an entire season of film on him a body of work of CJ strad they know how to scout him differently what challenges will that present to him as he enters your two and to your point now every defensive coordinator as you get ready for him you're going back and you're looking at the entire season to see what were the things that teams did that got to him and that's different cuz year one they don't have that so I look at it for CJ Stout you're going to have defensive coordinators going to have probably a better game plan and then within his own locker room I look at it as now you've added Stefan Diggs and Diggs just came out and said he was in the worst mental space of his NFL career last year in Buffalo and I got to imagine a lot that had to do with when Joe Brady took over as a coordinator his targets begin to diminish y now you go to Houston where you have anico Collins you have a tank Dell you added Stefon digs but then you also have Joe Mixon in the backfield and dton Schultz on the outside how does he CJ stra find a way to get the ball to all of these different guys and get them in positions to succeed and keep them all happy see that's why I think Buffalo has a better season than Houston for that exact reason because I'll go back to the team that I root for that you obviously played for in New England I think Brady was at his best when he didn't have to just look for one guy like in my head and maybe I'm wrong you play defensive back obviously you know better than I do Josh Allen looked for 14 and then looked for who was open versus just looking for who was open is that fair for sure because you have that Bonafide guy and a lot of Corners I remember talking to Josh McDaniel and he was McDaniels he said early on I found a way to get the guys the ball so my first 15 plays I'm going to have a pass to Julian Edelman maybe a screen to somebody else I'm doing something to get everybody touches early on just to get him into the flow of the game so I will say though as a DB you have a guy out there like a guy when Tom Brady had Randy Moss out there I got Randy in Tennessee at the end of his career and he can still run it just changes your mindset when that guy's out there you know you're getting 15 targets and if I'm covering number one guy all game I have to be perfect 15 times Jason I got to ask you this question we've got an interesting matchup down in Brazil on Friday uh the Green Bay Packers are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles now these are two teams that that were interesting I guess they were heading in opposite directions when we got to the playoffs last year of course the the Eagles ended last year losing six to their final seven whereas the Green Bay Packers became the youngest playoff roster to win a playoff game in 50 years what do you look at in this matchup and is this are these two teams that you could see potentially getting to the Super Bowl out of the NFC I really like Green Bay to your point the way they finish the season the way Jordan love was playing a lot of young guys especially at the receiver group kind of coming together I look at Philly and there so many question marks going into this game of just who who are the Philadelphia Eagles we saw them at 10 and one and then they got to a sunken place that they never able to get out of to end the season so my biggest thing going into this game is for one with jayen Herz Kell MO was the offensive coordinator they couldn't handle the blitz last year when they played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers I would imagine the Green Bay Packers they do the same thing as Jeff Halley's coming over as their coordinator send pressure see if they can pick those things up and if they can't then you're going to see a lot of what you saw the end the season last year with the Philadelphia Eagles got say Quan Barkley now too like let's find a way to get him the ball and take a lot of pressure off jayen Herz go ahead sorry oh Jason another big match up we have 49ers and the New York Jets on Monday Night Football last year obviously as Aaron Rogers ran out of the tunnel but it ended in disaster four plays into the game so much talent on the Jets a lot of expectations surrounding them but you have a quarterback in his 40s coming off a really severe Achilles injury what are your expectations for the New York Jets this season it's funny uh going to go on with greeny later on on get up and he keeps saying leave Aaron roders home for this Monday night game and just keep him safe and start the season next week I look at this Jets team and over the last two three years they've had probably the worst quarterback play play in the NFL and still throughout the season we've talked about them as up until getting into the teens of the Season where they were still vying for a playoff spot this is a team where Aaron roders to your point 40 coming off in Achilles but they don't need Aaron roders to definitely be the MVP version of him if they have an Aaron Rogers who just makes good decisions and doesn't turn the ball over which he's done his entire career it gives him a fighting chance to be a playoff team if they get a version of Aaron Rogers that is anywhere near an MVP type of caliber of what we've seen in his career I mean now you're talking about a team that has inserted themselves in a Super Bowl conversation so yeah I do think there are question marks of with Rogers we're all expecting it to be at this extremely high level let's see when he goes out there what it looks like and how long it
