Yan Gomes DFA, Kyle Hendricks come back start, and The Cubs win 2 in a row!

today the Cubs won again which means they're on a two- win streak oh my goodness it's crazy we're living in a crazy crazy world earlier today the Cubs DFA Yan Gomes and they signed catcher Thomas Neato I believe he got DF from the Mets earlier this season um I don't know I guess I like the move I've always liked Yan Gomes and you obviously can't DFA or you know send you know Amaya back down and that does just seem to be the best move a available if you think that Thomas Neo is going to give you more production than Jon Gomes Jan Gomes has also been really rough behind the plate this year I feel like no one has been getting thrown out on the opposing teams when when when the when the Cubs play When the Cubs play other teams cuz you know they play other teams they don't play themselves um and that is an isue especially just when it just seems like people can just run on the Cubs and just do whatever we don't like to see that hopefully Thomas Neo is actually Improvement in that aspect I don't think he's going to be uh you know a hitter but hopefully we can at least get some uh Runners thrown out on the bases and stuff like that so that's pretty good uh Kyle Hendrick had an amazing game today today I I really hope this is the turnaround this would be awesome if this was the run back this was the start of the a we're not done yet I know there's so many tweets about okay here's the date where he gets 10e service time and then they're going to DFA him and yadana I never thought that was going to happen Kyle Hendrick is one of the greatest pitchers in Chicago CBS history he started the two most important games in the franchise's history and I don't think they would have done him like that um but I'm happy to see that he is doing uh pretty good um his last relief outing too was was was was pretty good as well so yeah uh looking up however the bullpen is still a little like what's going on um yesterday Hector NYS did not get the Save which um I think was surprising since we just got a quote from Craig Council that was like Hector Nars is still going to be our guy uh Keegan Thompson got the save uh yesterday um and then today it was a 61 game going into I believe the eth um then they give up some uh some walks and then a run I believe it's two no no it is it was still 6 to1 they bring in sorry that's my chair squeaking they bring in um Tyson Miller I think and he gives up a grand slam and they go to they get West neski up a couple times which you guys know I'm not like a weski hater I I think he's really good I think he's one of the most important pieces of the bullpen but he gives up a lot of those homers right and and in in that situation that would have been a weird decision to put him in in like a basis loaded two guy or you know or two guys on situation because that just doesn't make sense right you know so so so uh they bring in Tyson Miller instead and then he comes up to Grand Slam and then for the ninth inning they go to Colton Brewer and he got the save um little you know little little you know I you know not not a one two three you know easy inning um but yeah I think overall the game felt pretty good still worried you know a little bit about just some of the bullpen decisions and management I think they got up West deski the second time because he already got up that day or that earlier in the game and I could definitely see hey we just want to yeah he didn't even come in the game right so I'm I'm just talking about you know you know Bullpen activity I guess at this point but um you know was like hey we just you know we might want to use him he already got up twice I will say there was an off day tomorrow there's an off day tomorrow they play on Friday so that's I think why we saw Mark lighter in a five Run game is like hey we just want to make sure we close the deal on this game uh everyone's going to get a day rest but it does make you think that Hector nerys might have been demoted even after Craig Council said all that uh because it's weird we didn't see him get up once to not today and yeah so we will see what happens with that that's an ongoing story but two games in a row two wins we're on the we're on the right track I think uh definitely could turn this thing around you know I'm I'm optimistic uh I think that earlier today when uh you know at the thought of the Cubs winning before they won it was like it doesn't matter but I do think I mean I don't know it's hard to be optimistic but you know you just got to stay positive I think you just got to stay positive um and yeah he's just the gra of all time really really sad news news during you know that announced during the broadcast as well you know and the Cubs of course were playing the Giants um and yeah he his impact
