On Oliver Martin she did talk to Oliver Martin after the holding bouncing around yeah I mean Oliver was my roommate last year you have a good friends and uh all outside I think it was holding at all so I just told him that and I mean he agreed but he was used mom like anyone would be trying to lighten his spirits though a lot of people notice the way you throw the ball at that pastor Ronnie Bell looked pretty natural of me you look comfortable out there and you're and you're you know limited role can kind of explain us walk walk us through that right now yeah I mean I definitely a comfort level with a lot of the receivers because from work and off season especially Ronnie Ronnie's been working really hard and uh with me especially he's been getting a lot of reps with me and that's been great so I feel comfort onto him and a lot of the guys it's about that timing and we get a lot of that during practice outside of practice so what was your reaction cuz I guess Harbaugh was saying that the right knee your right leg thing to to Brandon as well bump you up to number two I guess well what was your reaction when you you found out that you're gonna be in the two spot yeah you gotta prepare like your one play away all the time because frankly you are you never know so those one of those things where I try to prepare for just in case um what happened like that and fortunately always prepared my did very easy for you On playing against Notre Dame when you've got into the Notre Dame game why is is that just you have a nice vein I don't know I think it was just that uh like I said there's it's about the preparation during the week and taking swimming throughout you can as well as all through last year I tried to take him in immense reps I tell you when I was no chance of giving being that that was your first you know in-game experience was it daunting at all with you know having that crowd I just went out there and I try my best to enjoy it I thought the team embraced it team definitely had my back and I felt that and I think that's something that helps any young quarterback get him thrown in there and unfortunately I mean they did so I felt I felt comfortable with my back yeah I definitely think it's probably SP that be prepared because you never know and try to fun while doing yeah you know it says play for you so yeah I'd say we're all we're all close there was a quarterback bunch then when he first came and it's always a little hesitant when you did someone even as a freshman coming in everyone's gonna be heading towards you but I think you start spending so much time to go through camp and through offseason workouts it you start to get to know each other and by this time although all the tensions have cooled off once once there's kind of a line up in order and each other I mean I've learned a lot from say he's helping all of us but I'd say one thing that's learned from watching him is he plays very relaxed and like preparing a prepared relaxedness he knows what to do but nothing nothing really dancing I think that's been something I've taken away from and you showed off your your speed On getting prepared for the game on Saturday what's your 40 time at right now I'm not sure I'm around once was probably middle school doing you were you were mentioning last year when knowing that you're gonna have a chance to get in and I know it probably film and PlayBook studying so what else were you doing though to get prepared other than you know the practice PlayBook thing we're doing anything else yeah definitely I think just I think when you're out there you gotta be taking minutes where I remember last year during the games fortunate backup quarterbacks have wristbands too so I try to see all coach Harbaugh calls or whoever whoever calling them and I just shot a look see see what play is going on and try to get that rap in my brain while it's going on so you're just like visualizing yourself out there from the sidelines as the play is developing like what would you do how would you exactly I mean it's just a matter of getting that first play done and I want to eat that first play I was like all right there you go you can breathe a little and shut up fun with it it's been a while still play the game so no I mean all those things on the fence for a while it was like we're shape how she's gonna go all that deal and wound up here and then it was just it was a competition from there so uh we all just walks through that play - Ronnie how natural did it feel and they looked pretty natural yeah well I mean Ronnie and I have gotten countless countless raps at that throw especially me punch throw so felt it felt good I mean that's that's a guy I've seen since you got here true freshman is where it's hard as hard or harder than anybody else out here and I think it was awesome to see him have a little bit of success and I'm smiling out there I was really cool see On playing with Ronnie Ryan ya I said combination or anything you definitely have some instincts in there a lot of stuff you're not gonna be able to see whether it's a mental wrap or a real rep out there but I think uh I think we wrap some practice and like live reps are really gonna help just pop your present in general for any quarterback Ronnie Ryan is very high ceiling that's a guy who we've been working with I mean this is route running and receiver capabilities but talk about an athlete he's a he's an athlete I mean his peers they come and I think Ryan's gonna be really well he's are selling out there that he can play I'm excited just to just play with him and watch where he goes you know I've known since probably sophomore high school and they're definitely yeah I think as a quarterback hole always have improved a lot this year and I think that's something that uh just kind of naturally happen especially with the offense I think you've benefited from coming here early and just starting to learn everything my family's been shooting sport throwing my entire football career and I also think that's something that has helped me stay calm while playing just because I know I mean whatever happens I'm gonna have some I'm gonna have some people supporting me regardless of what you said your brother On his comfort level with the offense Luke I mean Luke was readin bring up the fact that we do much but you definitely uh I just told him I mean watch the game so I'll learn what they do and be ready to come in and try to make a difference I know you use back home they have a late Friday night so what's your what's your level of comfort with what you have on offense I mean obviously a couple good tie downs your wide receivers all lines approved me but what's your comfort level as far as your comprehension and control of the offense and then with what you have around you I mean I feel confident on the offense and I think what we have around us is uh this really makes offense I think Karl line has been constantly proven and they've been a great job I really believe that there's a couple times where quarterbacks hang in there too long but they've done they've done a fantastic job and I know our receivers are young but they're improving a ton and it's been awesome just watching them I think the energy we came out with last game is something that if we come out with every game it's gonna be a tough off and stop because that was the most energy I've seen ponch and I think that's something something scary if we keep that rolling yeah I mean I don't know if things necessary click is you're constantly learning there's definitely a level of comfort that you get I'd say that was I mean throughout spring ball last year because I mean last season you're more improving on mechanics everything running the scout team and stuff so that's a big time we just want to want to learn how to throw the ball what I want to get timing with the receivers are going with but I'd say spring ball is a great time for anyone to get cultural with the offense because that's when you're running your plays every single day I definitely slowed down and On playing against the Michigan defense going against our defense every day no matter who you play it's gonna it's gonna be slower than them because they're one of the fastest when uh well they get some of the most pressure on the quarterback and I learned very quickly as soon as I got here and so I think they do a great job how much do you think that helped you along since you spent that year on the scout team playing against the one team entire season how it helped some time you're playing against one of the best defenses in country every single day and I mean it feeds it down a little bit you definitely get frustrated some days but it helps it helps um watch some long-run just playing against good good competition nature people waiting in line yeah I think coach Harbaugh said something at the end of practice the other day that I really stuck with me personally I think a lot of guys he said it's better to be prepared and not get your opportunity than it is to be unprepared and get your opportunity and I think that's just something to kind of lean back because you don't want to go out there and have no idea what you're doing it doing do you do anything other than the you know standard trainer that they do I'm thinking like baseball players a lot of Drive line stuff like pitchers do you do anything specialized or routine wise like forearm strength I mean a lot of us just didn't like the training room talking to trainers get nice on your arm stuff like that and like a little activity can you strengthen it stretch it out during seasons not so much strengthening it's more just keeping them loose and keeping your arm as fresh as you can get it what age did you know did you realize that you could throw a football pretty good yeah I didn't actually start playing quarterback to a high school so it's just fun I want to keep doing this rather than just like receiver running back what prompted that change did they see you throw a ball or like it's because the quarterback I think I think I chose more I just like re going to high school I wanna be quarterback I'd played some in Little League but I kind of played some receiver as well thank you
