Arizona Diamondbacks you know I'm still surprised they were good enough to be the runner up seriously I thought they'd end up missing the Playoffs anywh Who the Dbacks originally debuted in 1998 making them the youngest franchise in the NL West with a color scheme of purple teal black and copper though this would be changed in 2007 to Sedona red sand and black to reference Arizona Staples and also ended up matching with the coyotes then Majestic BR in snake patterns in 2016 as well as reintroducing teal into their color scheme followed by Nike toning down the snake pattern in 2020 and finally this brand new design introduced for this year for their colors they kept Sedona red as their main color but doubled down on including teal so is it good I don't know I'm still iffy about it even months after the reveal now whereas last year only the white home uniform had teal now all four uniforms have teal so at least there's some consistency Arizona did go back to wearing their a logo on their black hats with the home and black jerseys and the alternate D logo on their black with red Bill and all red hats with their Road and red jerseys which also gives them four total hats five of you include their City connect I do dig the new home Jersey I think this color scheme works better with the a over having Dbacks and a number probably because teal is just used to highlight rather than having the team name outlined in and having the front number all in teal everything is just better balanced here the road gray hasn't changed too much apart from Trading black letters outlined in red for Red Letters outlined in teal the black alternate also isn't too different from the previous version aside from again the added teal highlights and as for the red alternate it actually spells out the full team name for once for years we've seen the team name abbreviated as Dbacks but For the First Time and Forever we have Diamond Backs fully across the chest that being said I think this one is my least favorite because my eyes are trying to adjust to seeing Sedona red and teal being combined in these quantities there City connect introduced in 2021 is still just as fantastic as ever giving back to Phoenix's Hispanic commity and sporting desert sand overall I applaud Nike for combining the Diamondback's past and current colors and looks because and this may be a hot take I think it's a good redesign let's head over to the mile high city tomorrow to look at the Colorado Rockies
