Hello everyone. This is Olesya. Welcome to the new vlog and my simple life. It's quite hot today and I need to water the flowers first. I started spending more and more time in the forest house, I really like the atmosphere here. There is no fuss or stress from city noise here. I want to finish repairing the nightstand today. There's just a little bit left, Sasha will screw on new handles, replace the damaged shelves and the nightstand will be ready. The large sunflowers have already finished blooming, but the small decorative ones will soon bloom and it will be beautiful in an autumnal way. The onion is well dried and can be transferred to baskets for storage. I immediately decided to sort the onions by size. I put the small onions in a small basket and the large onions in a large basket. I can't wait to clean up everything here and improve every corner. But the house isn't finished yet, so there are no conditions yet. But even in such conditions I will try to create a pleasant atmosphere. There are old household items in the barn, I will gradually put them all in order, some need to be repainted, some need to be repaired and covered with oil. I'll leave the onion here because we'll need it when we start cooking here. Thanks to the fact that we will repair the nightstand, I can store the necessary dishes here and not move them back and forth. We'll put this table there. And the repaired nightstand here. I didn't show here how we repaired the nightstand, because you will see it on the channel "Village Forest House" As you have already seen, I have a lot of ripe tomatoes. It's high time to collect them, otherwise they will spoil. Once I get all the tomatoes out, I'll be able to let the chickens out to roam freely again. I don't like it when chickens are kept in a pen. Everyone likes to have a little freedom. When I work on the street, Nyusya also goes for a walk. Nyusya has a scratch under her eye, she was injured by some neighbor's cat that came into our yard, but the scratch has almost healed. When we had a dog, other cats didn't come to us. I think we'll get a dog again in the spring. Our previous dog died of old age and we were very worried, so we had quite a long break in life without a dog. But time heals all wounds, and we are ready to take a little puppy again. There are too many tomatoes, I'll process some of them right away. I'll cut the smallest tomatoes in half and dry them in the dryer. These will be sun-dried tomatoes. Last year I already made sun-dried tomatoes. I simply dried them, sprinkled them with spices, garlic and poured oil over them. But they didn't last long, after a couple of months mold formed. This year I'll change the recipe a little. I read that in Sicily they dry a lot of tomatoes and then boil them in water with vinegar for a couple of minutes. This allows you to store tomatoes for a long time. Well, I'll try. If it doesn't work, then there is a third backup option...lol If you have a 100% proven recipe for sun-dried tomatoes, I would be very grateful if you shared the recipe and experience. I cut the larger tomatoes into 4 pieces. After I put the tomatoes in the dryer, I salt them with coarse salt and don’t sprinkle them with anything else. I know that plum-shaped tomatoes are good for drying, but I'll try these small round ones too. In this way I filled all the trays of the dryer. It would be ideal to dry tomatoes outside, but I'm afraid that due to the high humidity they will take a month to dry...LOL To dry tomatoes faster, I set the drying temperature to 70°C. You asked about the chicks. They turned one month old on September 3rd. Look how they have grown. Real feathers are already appearing. The little chicks are completely healthy, and we are already walking them outside. Autumn has already come into its own and we can slowly begin to create new decor. I am looking for inspiration in Tone Finnanger book "Tilda Homemade and Happy". I have been eyeing these interesting reindeer for a long time. I think they will be perfect for autumn decor. I like that at the end of each book there are patterns that you can use to sew any item shown in the book. I remember how, as children, we would transfer pictures onto an album sheet in the same way and then color them. We also leaned the sheet against the window, so the outline of the drawing was clearly visible in the light and easy to redraw. So now I can say that I plunged into childhood, copying pictures from the book. Then you need to cut out the templates and connect the parts that consist of two halves, this is the body and the hind legs. I will place a link to the outlined template in the description under the video. If you wish, you can also sew such deer. This is what the deer templates look like. Big deer and little deer. I transfer the pattern onto the fabric. I bought a new pen with disappearing ink on Aliexpress, especially for fabric. By the way, I used fabric from the remains of curtains, these are IKEA cotton curtains, "LЕNDA" beige. This fabric was perfect for the deer. I connect the darts on the head and at the bottom of the body together and stitch them. I turn the deer body parts inside out and fill them with synthetic padding. I have already stuffed the front and back legs, and just tied them in the middle with a thread to form the bends of the joints. All the parts are stuffed, now let's start assembling the deer. They look weird for now)))) I'll form the ears right away. I'll show you how I do it. I sew the front and back legs by piercing them through with a needle and tightening them a little. Then I place the ears on both sides and sew them on. I make the eyes as always with a French knot, but you can just put black dots with paint. Let's apply some blush to the cheeks to liven up the look a little. All that's left is to attach the antlers. These are twigs from a cherry tree. I simply use a skewer to pierce a hole in the deer's head and move the threads apart in a circular motion. Then I insert the horns into these holes. The horns sit tightly. The final touch is a scarf around the neck. Now the deer looks great. Antlers made from real branches really transformed the deer, making the image more lively and natural. Now I have exactly the same deer, and I like them very much. Let's find them a place where they will make us happy. I think they would be perfect for my sewing corner. I sewed a loop on the back of each deer so that it could be hung if desired. The morel mushroom that we recently sewed together. I will share a link to this video in the information field. Autumn is always associated with mushrooms and pumpkins. The result is a beautiful, unobtrusive autumn decor. If you change the deer's scarf to a red color, they will successfully transition into New Year's decor. The tomatoes are finally dry; it took about a day to dry. The dried tomatoes took up only three trays of the dryer. Now I will boil them in water with wine vinegar. For 1 liter of water we take 125 ml. of wine vinegar. I already had the water heated up. As soon as the water boils, we put the sun-dried tomatoes in there for 2 minutes, no more. Last night I made some wreath bases from maiden grapes. It was an unplanned activity, so I didn't film the process. The water has boiled, it's time to simmer the tomatoes a little. I throw the boiled tomatoes into a sieve, then they need to be dried by laying them out on a towel, or they can be dried in a dryer at a low temperature. Prepared tomatoes can be placed in a jar. I layer the tomatoes with garlic slices (a little) and dried basil. Then I pour in olive oil. In another recipe you need to do the same thing, but they advise pouring hot olive oil over the tomatoes. I pour room temperature oil over the tomatoes. Of course, there is a lot of work with sun-dried tomatoes, but the result is worth it, they turn out very tasty. Once the tomatoes are eaten, you can also use the oil for salads or other dishes. It is recommended to store these tomatoes in the cupboard, but I put them in the refrigerator. Thank you very much for sharing these moments with me and visiting my home. Stay happy and healthy, take care of yourself and your families! See you in new videos.
