the Detroit Lions get the first one of the Season as they defeat the LA Rams 26-2 in a absolutely fantastic battle and the Lions pick up the one now by far we did not play our best game by any means it was a struggle on offensive side of the ball defensive side of the ball struggled sometimes but they definitely showed improvement from the previous season we're gonna be going over the stats now this is recorded the day after the game because the game ended where I live around midnight so I was I was way too tired to make a video I was going to be just mumbling and all that type stuff um for the whole video so that's why it's a day late but we pick up the win a win is a win regardless but let's let's go over the stats man so Lions pick up the one 2620 Jared gof he kind of struggled today he really really did 18 for 28 217 one pick one touchdown not a bad by any means he did throw some nice balls but I thought he was very inaccurate on some again it's week one it's kind of expected to not play in the preseason he he played okay we'll just say that he didn't play Bad by any means but he definitely definitely was a little bit inaccurate today on the balls that he did not complete for sure David Montgomery had a fantastic day 17 for 91 5.4 and one touchdown he phenomenal now most of those yards and that yards per carry and the touchdown D was on the final drive we won it in OT we went to overtime and we won it Dave Montgomery got the game-winning touchdown I mean he I think at least got 40 yards maybe even 50 yards that drive it was ridiculous uh I mean if you take away overtime he really didn't do much but that overtime Drive man I mean he looked incredibly he looked like he was the best running back in the league on that drive like he was Unstoppable uh jir Gibbs today 11 for 43.6 one touchdown a little bit underwhelming for him in the Run game today we were doing a little bit something different this time I think we might did a little bit last year but we definitely doing it more today um jir Gibbs he was so Dave Montgomery got the mo like every carry in the first quarter and he got most of the carries to Second and then jir Gibbs came in towards the end of the half and then jir Gibbs played the third quarter and then David Montgomery played the whole fourth it weird because usually it's 5050 or 6040 on snaps for the running backs and quarters it looks like they're trying to spread it out like a running back plays most snaps this quarter running back plays most snaps that uh the next quarter so looks like they're going to try to do that this year to you know let the one running back rest up while they play the other running the other Elite running back and then you know just that vice versa to get um as healthy and as prepared and not exhausted as possible jamus Williams had one run it looked like one year for 13 yards that one run that he had it was like the NFC title game Run on the sweep I he got he actually got hurt he was out for a couple plays on that run but he came in pretty quick so good for that Jared gof I want to highlight this here he had one run for seven yards but man it was the best run I've ever seen J GF had it was I believe third down and six we had to get a first down GF is slow as ever slower than Tom Brady was running rumbling down dive for the first down it was incredible it was absolutely incredible you love to truly see it Jared Goff you're meant for Detroit man that was one of the best things Jared gof did all game I'm not even that most fun things Jared go did all game like it was oh man I was laughing so hard on that shout out to jar shout out to Jared Goff man Jameson Williams had his career day five receptions 121 and a touchdown career day he was Unstoppable he had that big run as well Jameson Williams was Unstoppable he had another big touchdown I believe every touch not everyone but three4 of the touchdowns he's caught so far in his career have all been I think I read from at least 35 Plus yards from the end zone so I mean he's definitely a big play threat but he was making some nice catches man that deep ball Jared G threw nice deep ball probably Jared Go's best throw of the day was to J Mo for the touchdown uh that touchdown that he got was I believe a 50- yard might have been 55 yards was 55 or 60 yard touchdown um and also he was able to make a lot of stuff happen on that it was legal contact on the defense and he was still able to get the touchdown so shout out to Williams man Sam laap pora not too bad of a day four for 45 it's pretty much what he usually does maybe a little bit less not too bad though jir Gibbs fourth for 34 he was productive in the receiving game so kind of uh made up for his lackluster running performance St Brown though three reception for 13 yards I believe this is the least amount of yards he's had in a game where he has played since his rookie season so again St Brown then playing the preseason but it it's the lowest they covered him well shout out to travius White I thought he had a very nice game besides the touchdown he outed on Jameson Williams I'm pretty sure it was him but S I mean shout out to the Rams DBS they had St BR locked down and Brock Wright shout out to Brock Wright man one reception for two yards now moving on to the to the defensive side of the ball this very interesting to me we started off hot in the defensive side of the ball shout to this guy guy right here let us some tackles 10 tackles Alex anzalone made some huge stops made some huge hits uh he's one of the most underrated linebackers in the league no doubt about it definitely does not get the credit he deserves he had a very nice day I thought he actually got the game ball from Dan Campbell in the game celebration Teran Arnold had his rookie Wes and stuff like that but I thought he also said a lot of potential very good tackling corner I'm pretty sure I said that when we drafted him in my draft um my draft thoughts on him he was a very good tackler and he showed that today was his best thing was tackling um but he did make some nice plays in coverage but he's very handsy for sure draw two pass interference calls which is not good but again rookie was it'll he'll fix that Carlton Davis I thought I had a nice day for first game in a lions uniform BB had a decent game Kirby Joseph had a pick Kirby Joseph check this out Kirby Joseph he this is heading into his third season he already has nine career interceptions and we've only played one game of this season shout out to Kirby Joseph man not by far the best safety in the league underrated safety but he's not an elite safety by any means but man is he known for getting them interceptions he has wi I believe in every year in interceptions since we drafted him in 2022 so shout out to Kirby Joseph man that was the first time we have picked off Stafford in the game since this trade happened by the way so now realistically Stafford Stafford had a fantastic day we'll go over Stafford here in a minute Stafford had a fantastic day but there was some dropped interceptions we had Davis should have had a pick Branch could have had arguably two picks um so there was there was some we had a chance we should have had two picks at least but it is what is we still got W no shout out to Hutch man I mean Hutch I watched the tape multiple times and during the game he looked like the best defensive end of all time only had one sack now granted he was playing the backup tackle and the third string tackle but Aiden Hutchinson was dominant I mean literally every time 99 98.5% of the time he was winning his reps like I mean it was ridiculous he looked like the best defensive end of all time out there even though he only had one sack Derek Barnes had a solid day continues to hopefully get himself a contract potentially you know what Jack Campbell he was out there a little bit not as much as I expect him to be out there missed a tackle I'd like to see a little bit more from Jack Campbell man a little bit more especially from how high we drafted him looks like they're actually trying to find a rooll for Rodrigo this year which I really like made a nice tackle to save a touchdown in the game on Tyler Johnson leek Robertson I thought had a very nice game under the radar game McNeil didn't really do too much to me I thought peka underrated game even though it was like one of the lowest PFF grade Lions on the day shout out to Levi on zarque got a half a sack could have been a full sack but didn't credit to him we have ique I thought had a very very good game it looks like he well today he was at least or you know next day um he was so our front four was mcneel orque Davenport and Hutch matter of fact Houston was a healthy scratch I got got to bring that up Houston was a healthy scratch so that proves I mean we pretty much already knew it but he was on the roster bubble and he is still on the roster bubble there's a very good chance that he will be the Charles Harris of last year or the stevenh Gilmore of last year where he's just going to be healthy scratch for most of the time and if a guy goes down or we're struggling at that position they'll Elevate him and give him a chance but yeah they true I safe to say they don't really trust Houston I mean I really don't either but I'd give a shot some some point but shout out to orang arque man hopefully he has his best season of his career and he played a very nice game yesterday I thought uh Marcus Davenport he's going under the radar as well now gr again he was also going against the backup tackle but I thought he had a very nice day he was winning most of his reps I thought he was winning 60% of his reps he had a very nice day as well half a sack he could have had I thought two two and a half to three sacks on the day he sted stord juked him out on one and he missed a tackle on one so right there he would have had two and a half sacks there's probably half a sack or another sack he could have got if Stafford didn't give R the ball I thought davp had a fantastic day even though he only had half a sack pass rush looks way better and we didn't even have DJ rer James the pr Houston in there so I can't imagine what it'd be with rer in there so and we'll get to see reader it sounds like against a Tamp Bay game according to Dan Campbell in his press conference today so shout out to Marcus Davenport rake straw didn't really play today so don't really have an opinion on him Chris Smith he actually just got released by the Lions today we signed him on Saturday to 53 Main roster now he's already released I'm assuming we're going to sign Tim Patrick or Allan Robinson to the 53 man roster this week that' be my assumption with roster spot we now have open again but I don't know that's pretty much it on the defensive side of the ball shout out to Jake Bates won two for two on the day made both of his extra points as well Jack Fox had a very nice punt as well that uh was down inside the one but accidentally Andis RW kicked it out the back of the end zone to force a Touchback um Stafford where's he at right here again 34 for 49 317 one touchdown one pick again not too imp like stats wise you know looks good but didn't look good but he had a fantastic day he played better by golf by far and I'll admit it uh Stafford and Goff I mean they go head-to-head every time they're both on the same level in my opinion in terms of talent they both had their blows they both had their good stuff um but I mean it's it's and who knows this could be the last time we'll ever see Stafford vers goth in Ford Field so or potentially ever on the Lions and Rams so if if this is how it ended we won that we won the battle two to one so uh but besides that Cooper cup Aus alive 14 receptions 110 and a touchdown I thought our run watching the take back or run defense was actually better than I thought it was during the game we actually held Kyon Williams to under four yards to carry actually matter of fact I think it might have been under three yards a carry let me check here yeah it was actually under three yards a carry and KY Williams a top 10 back 2.8 yards per carry will allowed to him so shout out to our defense without DJ reer I'm telling you Kyle PCO was involved in that I'm telling you man I wouldn't be surprised if Kyle pek end up being on the 53 man run at some point this year I thought he played a very well game even though PFF gave him the lowest grade possible but Lions get the W 26 to 20 in overtime what a way to start the season definitely need to improve on some stuff offense needs to improve the defense also needs to improve but we're going to get reer back next week Houston might get a shot next week and r should be healthy no significant injuries either love to see that and yeah on to week two lions start the season one and0 I'm going to be honest with you guys I thought we should have lost that game Rams played better than us I'll admit it but we got the win a win is a win in the NFL we definitely need to improve on some stuff a lot of stuff but I I'm feeling very confident after rewatching the tape and I'm getting hype man I'm really curious to see what DJ reader does and how much of an impact he makes next week I don't know if he'll get a whole bunch of reps next week so I might play safe with him but
