found on page 540 in your few bibl would like to follow along to you I lift up my eyes oh you who are enthroned in the heavens as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters and the eyes of maids to the hand of their mistress so our eyes look to our Lord Our God until he has mercy upon us have mercy upon us oh Lord have mercy upon us for we have had more than enough of contempt our soul has had more than it's F the scorn of those who are at ease of the contempt of the proud the word of God for the people of God be to God attitude of prayer de Heavenly Father we ask your blessing upon this worship service allow us to feel your presence and be with us as we profess our confession let us confess our sins using the words of confession as found the puzzling God we hear in the gospel message that Jesus was question and rejected own homes Wonder to continue Ministry such a l of support we want to our full support and we are afraid to begin and homet FK and also [Music] us forgive don't know if all of you are familiar with this hymn it's one that I grew up with so I'd like to just uh Speak the Hebrew for you once so if you're not familiar you know how it's pronounced so if you taken from the writings of St Mark the 6th chapter beginning with the the first verse P 38 now Jesus left that place came to his hometown and his F disciples followed him on the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue and many who heard him were astounded they said where did this man get all this what is this wisdom that has been given to him and what need power being done by his hands is this not the carpenter the son of Mary and brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon are not his sisters here with us and they took offense of him then Jesus said to them prophets are not without honor except in his own town and among his own K in his own house and he could do no deed of power there except laid hands on a few sick people and cured him and he was amazed at their unbelief then he went out among other Villages teaching he called the 12 and King and began to send them out two by two and give them authority over the unclean spirits now he ordered them to take nothing for their Journey accept the staff no bread no bag no money in their belts but the wear sandles and not to put on through tunic and he said to them whenever you enter a house stay there until you have leave the place and if any place is not welome to you when they refuse to hear you as you leave shake off the dust BLS your feet as a testimony against them and the disciples went out and proclaimed all that he should that all should be repent and they cast out many demons and anointed them with many ORS who were sick and C your ends are reading we just heard passage of scription of scripture that we found in Mark and we read that Jesus in his Trav decided to go to his own town which he did and then on the Sabbath he went into the synagogue he started to teach and they began to teach those in the synagogue heard it and were [Music] amazed and they question where did this first of off where did this man come from and what wisdom has been given to him so he does Miracles isn't he the carpent son Mary's [Music] son brother to James Joseph Simon and his half sisters when here among us and so they didn't believe and they didn't hold him in any kind of esteem so Jesus said to them a is not without honor among his relatives even among his own family so Jesus could not be effective there and he decided before he left to heal a few sick people and he left because of the life of Faith then after this event Jesus called his 12 together and then he sent them out two by two and he gave them authority over evil spirits and is the words he gave them for encouragement well and Jesus said take nothing for your journey except the staff no bread no bag no money in your bels mer single but not an extra tuning and we never you at our house stay there until you leave that town and if any place will not welcome you or listen to you take off the dust off your feet as you leave a testimony against them it was quite profound for these disciples to hear this from their master and I'm sure they question what do you mean we can't take anything with us no money no extra clothing no nothing and to expect to go into a town and be cared for but be there as it may they trusted in his instructions and did just that and they found as they visited the towns that they were at they used this power that Jesus had bestowed on them I'm sure they were amazed that they could do this again I'm truth had to remember the words of their master that all will be provided now in our confession this morning we have to consider the words that was just recited in the confession we just spoke we want to enter our endeavors with full support and acclamation we just confess this a few minutes ago we're afraid to even task or even our families friends and Hometown folks belittle and and also through us we know that to be true so rather than face segregation we back down and we ask God to forgive us for our lack of faith and vision and in forgiving us we ask Christ to empower us to be in service to him even when we not feel the support of our family us trust in your power and present with us even though these words were printed in our bu we confess them before God at this point in time and we need to believe that there are times of discouragement there are times that our actions seem worthless but if we have faith in Christ you will persevere and be successful encouraging sometimes to know that we Le a good life but Temptations seem to creep into our daily living and we feel that maybe we should give into some of these Temptations and make life a little easier for ourselves it's a strong temptation to do that but if we know Christ told us to persevere and he'll provide us with strength the Holy Spirit can make a difference in our life we need to believe that the prayers that we pray are meaningless unless we mean it and by our actions we can live a Christian Life well is there a need out there for us to do this I'm certainly there's problems in this world even in our local community and we have the answer to their problem we have if we have Christ Living in us we need to share that good news with others so we pray the prayer give me strength to lead that Christian Life and to share with others you know there's eight know there's uncertainty we have the answer to all these things we have questions I certainly we do but not only us our friends and our family and neighbors they have question and the TR truth is we have the answers it may not come immediate but if we we have faith in the Holy Spirit the answers will come we shouldn't despair by Leading a good life and say there's really not much I can do there's there's very little I've accomplished in this world and you're so wrong because Christ has not done with you yet there's still a mission out there that we should Endeavor to pursue there's words to be said there's Deeds to be done there's actions that can make a difference in our world and it can if you only believe believe that Christ is the answer to every question to every situation to persevere that's perhaps the hardest thing in life not to give up but to to press on the high calling that we all have as Christians if you lead a good Christian life things will become easier troubl won't disappear they'll still be there Temptations will still be there if you don't let these stumbling blocks freay you from your path will be successful guaranteed I'm sure you can think back on your life experiences and those that we feel good about is the times that we've done the right thing at the right time in the right place and then there's other times that we failed to do these things and those we tend to forget the LA even Christ faces disappointment in his own Hometown you really want to stand up and tell those in attendance there's a new beginning that you need to Turn Your Eyes Upon God and they wouldn't accept that because all they could see was a partner son he's just a messenger and he tried to convey that to them but he want to they were sidetracked with a physical presence and so out of Despair he had to leave that town his own C go were other places where he was more readily accepted there's a prayer I'd like to recite to you at this time and perhaps it'll be with some words of inspiration now let the rain come and wash away the ancient grudges bitter hatreds held and nurtured over generation but the rain wash away the memory of a hurt neglect then let the sun come out and fill the sky with rainbow let the warmth of the sun heal us whenever we are broken Let It Burn away the fog so that we can see each other clearly so that we can see beyond labels Beyond accents gender or skin color let the warmth and brightness of the sun melt our selfishness so that we can share the joys and feel the Sorrows of our neighbors let the light of the Sun be so strong that we will see all people as our neighbors but the Earth there is by rain bring forth flowers to surround us with Beauty and the mountains te our hearts reach uper to Heaven amen these are the words of Rabbi Harold be de Heavenly Father forgive us for not doing what we should be doing as Christians forgive us for our to may feel your presence forgive us for many faults and shortcomings and in so forgiving us help us to rise above the pettiness of this world that we truly can be good stewards good Christians we pray for this morning for those who unfortunately find themselves in difficulty either emotional or physical we ask that you touch their lives that they may feel your presence and if they are need in physical healing allow the medical that to bring them back to full health we pray this morning for our friends and neighbors who have failed to know you as their lord and savior give us the opportunities to witness in your name to them that they too may know the joy of Salvation knowing that there's more to this physical life that there's a reward waiting for them in your heavenly kingom we pray this morning that you would help us to overcome The Temptations of life and as Living Christian stewards we may show others the goodness who can only come as followers of you and so we pray is who have taught us to pray saying our father in Heaven be nameing will be on earth it in uses us us not into tempt Us from Evil for kingom and power and Glory forever for closing closing himy let us
