e e e e e e e e e check one two live from mantos Michigan in the parking lot of Comm Oil Company I'm Owen Li with Jack Hillard and we'll be bringing you the 53rd annual montro Blueberry Festival super parade now Jack you're going to be run the show here why don't you run us through uh this mantro Blueberry Festival super parade well right now we're just going to start out with the fire trucks and our uh men in uniform I mean we we got to give a great deal of contribution to them they are the ones that keep this city safe and protected so we can do events like these and keep them nice and orderly um after that we're going to have the Shriners military Patrol and now Jack we uh got word earlier that this is one of the biggest parades uh montros has ever seen as this is um a 100 entry parade oh yeah it's this parade is definitely going to be one of the bigger ones I think it might have have to do with um recovery from Co because for the last couple of years it's been really small since everyone's more or less afraid to go out and uh you know uh expose themselves to uh disease um as you can see we have our squad cars pulling up after them it's going to be the uh Shriner military Patrol um the Shriners are dedicated to uh helping children in need the American Legion also here the uh post 367 uh American Legion they are also uh sponsors of the uh veterans Bell Memorial so if you guys happen to be in town go over to Barber Park and check that out especially if you want some nice history now Jack how long have you been coming to uh the montro buber Parade ever since I was born I was going to say I was being carded around in a stroller even like before I can even remember it gr Marshalls Nancy person and Joe creamy Joe creamy a huge help with the MDM tv.com crew in program uh we've always thanked Joe creamy and always appreciate everything he's always done for our program yeah he is an absolutely wonderful guy I would recommend his services for photography and DJing I mean he does a lot of stuff I'd recommend them to anyone and now coming up on our screen we have the montro bbery Queen in court our court is Emily denmore and your queen Miss Frankie Joe Hurst these two competed in March 4 for this title and have gone all all over the state to uh parades festivals and everything else you could think of I was going to say I personally know Frankie and I know for a fact that that win was well deserved 50y year anniversary of the 1974 Queen Cindy Yunel 50th Anniversary we're send it down to our field reporter Rachel Hillard with an interview hi I'm Rachel Hillard I'm here with Mary Hillard and Lloyd Hillard tell me what is your favorite part about the Blueberry Festival family family being with family family and friends now what's your favorite memory oh that's a hard one the court gun game I like the prade thank you guys back to you Owen Okay so now coming up uh right now we have uh two Marchers for Elga Credit Union um I personally uh my going to say I would say yeah definitely my 15th out of 16 years because wasn't there a year that they just didn't do the parade because of Co yep yeah and uh you know this is just a thing that we've always been doing we actually have another interview with Rachel Hillard so Rachel what do you have for us I'm here with these two lovely ladies um can you tell me what's your favorite part about the Blueberry Festival cuz they had crowns the crowns M what's your favorite part about the Blueberry Festival the rides the rides thanks girls uh ladies and gentlemen passing us just now was Veterans mechanical um these guys are very very good repair men I remember my car was broken down one time and these guys fixed her right up and she was ready to go back to work in that same car the next day they um that's right [Music] all right coming up here we have the rest of uh veterans mechanical this is their more or less their party float they're throwing candy and they're squirting water guns let's hope we don't get sprayed over here that might might damage some equipment okay this is also uh Granny's daycare uh this trailer right up here we have the Franken Frost band let's see let's see if they're going to play a tune for us here I was going to say they just finished a bit founded in 1895 there are just all kinds of Ages in this band we have everything from 9 years old to maybe 12 years [Music] old coming up in the Volkswagen we have the Strawberry Festival Queen [Music] have APM mosquito control Jack app person have to thank these guys for all of these summer nights without the uh problems of a heavy mosquitoes I was going to say it's absolutely a rude or a mood Ruiner when you're chilling at the barbecue and then you start itching mosquitoes are no joke we have a pretty Festival um probably the parade the parade now JJ what's your favorite part the parade the parade now what is your favorite Hometown memory spending time with family I guess spending time with my few uh moments they do a little line dance hopefully we can see a line dance that they do in front of us behind them Jack want to Jo us what as Behind These rocking Granny's uh behind the Granny's we're going to have the Michigan Sugar Queen um with Pioneer sugar after that it's going to be our montro VAR City cheer team so there's going to probably going to be a few familiar faces here oh we're getting candy from the marching Granny's C for okay right now coming up we have Isabella stoutenberg as the Michigan Sugar Queen tenants Addison Hagen and Kinsley cars Pioneer sugar right right here we have montro cheer again some familiar faces in the truck and on the street throwing Cy as well oh and up in the crowd of Varsity cheerleaders we have our very own Sam SC we're going to be seeing her on the Friday show hey Sam how's it going good Rachel how are you I'm pretty good so what you doing here we're in the blueberry parade as the mantas VAR City cheerleading well thank you for joining me right now back to you Owen that was that was our very own Sam stro with the montos VAR City cheer team after the cheer team we're going to have the Shriners clowns not a huge fan of clowns Jack yeah these at least they are not you know all white except hey wow a quick Clowning Around literally okay right here we have the uh grandon Hair Center of clo looks like they're giving a uh haircut right now that's a lot of wind it's hard to do hair in the wind oh my goodness it's it's it's a lot of light rain not a lot of uh not a lot of a bit of sunshine but it's a it's machine weather but right here just passing us we have Champion Auto Parts these guys are also very very good mechanics next we have the Clinton montros Medical Group these these guys are really good when it comes to taking care of uh their Town's people [Music] [Music] this wind is really messing with us uh right here we have the Bay City St Patrick's Day Association Queen and Court that's funny a little Irish man holding the Irish flag oh con next we have M57 Towing speaking of M57 Towing we have a very special thanks to them because currently we are sitting on top of one of their trucks broadcasting this event to you live there's ever a point where you need towing or some like Towing and Repair I these are definitely your guys they do a pretty nice job uh they're very careful with everything they are very generous um very quick at what they do and they're very good at what they do always very appreciative of them Shelby and we're also we would like to give a special thanks to Shelby and Lonnie as they were the guys that dropped off our truck there's M15 Towing and Recovery uh some more great guys uh do just an amazing job these guys have really loud horns oh that is a nice car on top of the uh one of their Towing repair trucks [Music] right now that is one way to ride in [Music] style oh looking at the one behind that that is an absolutely giant monster truck right [Music] there and the both two of those cars on top are uh race cars so there's definitely some place that you can go to watch these guys race live after them we have the Michigan Bean Queen and Court we're going to let them get into frame here Jack have you ever been to the bean festival before I I have not it is quite the festival I'll say that uh very very small Michigan Bean Queen Emma iron from Pigeon Michigan first runner up Kennedy Russell akan Michigan right here we have uh the uh election party for uh Mary Hood she's running for circuit court judge I'm sure she is a very very nice lady now we have uh the parade float for the mountai Lutheran Church passing out Andy now for this uh past little while we're going to have the uh baby and kids contest winners past just past us we have uh the newborns up to 12 months then it's the 13mon to 23 month olds just itty babies now in the uh Super Mario Cart we have the uh two to four year olds hey it's Luigi in the red ban we have the five to seven-year-old baby kids contest winner that's funny they got a a vehicle on top of their van now in the black truck we have the baby and kids contest winner 8 to 10 year olds Everly Thomas now clad in uh Flintstones uh gear we have the 11 to 14y Old winners oh along with the 13mon to 23mon Winners oh would you look at that then we have the coming up in the Camaro I believe ow and what what card do you think that is what model uh it looks like a Chevy Camaro I can't tell what year but uh definitely new looks pretty nice I was going to say whatever car it is it's really really nice but we have the curwood royalty Queen and Court once they get closer we're going to see if we can read off their names we have Madison Strauss and Marissa rose with the wood royalty right behind them we have uh one of the biggest sponsors of this this Festival itself the State Bank the state bank bank actually has a uh a local uh area inside the city of montose personally I've never been I don't really know anyone that used it but I'm sure that if they can sponsor a big Festival like this they can keep your money safe right here we have the Shriner security Force it's good to see we have an occasional adult out there going up now as the inductees for the mantos Hall of Fame a lot of U great inductees this year one of them being uh actually my uncle's up there right now benis um being inducted for the cross country teams that been uh very successful undefeated 1954 baseball team and I was going to say at the end of this parade we're going to give you guys just a very brief sneak peek of what's going to be happen or happening later today at the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies you guys can actually tune into to that it's going to be around 4 o'clock today and it's it's going to be a good old time going to learn a lot of history about our uh past victories for montros now we have coming up we have the uh Shia allei clown Club we're going to uh oil our machines here real quick yeah we don't want our uh machines and gears to uh clog up and rust you know and right here is the Shia Ali clown club with bubble all oiled up now ready to broadcast [Music] coming up we have the Franken M Bavarian Festival princess and Court I was going to say Franken M besides montose Franken m is one of the best tourist attractions I would say in the state yeah I mean if you're looking for um uh a good theme uh pretty much everything in Franken m is based off of Bavaria I would recommend the Bavarian in Lodge if you're planning to make a short stay they have water parks they have food they have festivities they have absolutely great ethnic German food um larian princess in court we have Haley Grace and Mariah Know Jack one of the best things uh best times uh to go to Frankie m is during Christmas I mean oh yeah Christmas time in Frankie m is UN unmatched especially when they get all the ice sculptures yeah snowfest uh that's I think in January but you know if you go around Christmas time time you got bronners um it's just a wonderful time Frank does a great job uh it's great tourist attraction during the uh definitely going to be it's definitely a good time around October because um uh in Germany uh one celebration that they have is October Fest but it's it's more of a adult celebration uh right passing us just now we have the COC cast and crew theater dressed up in uh Shrek now we have another political float uh we have Matthew berline State Representative of the 97th District if you live in the 97th district and you're a republican he is the one to vote for coming up right here we have the montros pub just down the street from us actually I was going to say if you happen to come into Mont Rose and uh you want to just unwind have a few drinks with your friends this is the place they have good food good drinks and uh good spirits and we have the American Eagle to the left waving the American flag now we have the uh Railroad Days princess 2024 Alara manard we have another political float here we have uh we have uh jenese County Clerk Dominique Clemens let me know when you get a shot nothing the Jesy kind of Fair coming up uh Jaden kofac is actually in the float she's a montro Alum you got to know Jaden Freddy well her mom is a teacher here at montro believe she teaches kindergarten after that we have the uh leas clown unit lady for our Shriners from Flint Michigan here coming up on our cameras we have Real Life Church they're just uh down the road uh right near the elementary school actually so if uh if you want to get into uh some religious stuff definitely go to there oh you got Mr Chad here right here in the red car we have our uh mayor elect D Tom Banks he's uh he's uh campaigning for a spots on the uh uh montro mayle and city council as you can see we have the Miss Davidson Queen and Court Miss Davidson will be Merrick Spy walk her court is Haley Hosea and Brandon Bell or Briana Bell pardon right here we have evolv martial arts we have a member of the tmnc it's a shame the rest of them couldn't make it that would have been an awesome uh awesome site we have the uh float for the uh montro candle walk currently in memory of patches you guys are interested in going to the mon candlewalk it's the first Saturday of December you know Ram heating uh Heating in air they just these guys do a great job here in montro uh and clo and all around local towns and cities these guys just do a great job very honest um say my mom consulted them when our heater was going out they fixed her right up they actually replaced it and didn't give up didn't give her a hassle they actually gave it to her for a discount price because of um the way that it had actually broken right here we have the hospital drivers unit for the Shriners so these guys drive the the children around to the hosps that they need to go to we have uh another political float Paul Young for congress had to give a special shout out to someone watching here in the have uh the queen is uh Kendra raded Zack the first runner up is Sydney dur Russell and or first runner up is Sydney D Russell and second runner up is a breno row f special shout out to uh leadford garage we have I have I see two gentlemen in the crowd who I know quite well we have Jess or we have uh Jesse and Owen now we have the north flushing Baptist Church so if you're in town visiting and you happen to uh it happens to be a holy day of obligation and you're Baptist this is the place to go next we have the ambassadors for Christ Christian school so if you're planning on bringing your family up in the faith uh these are the guys to go to especially if you're Christian com we have in the cart we have the uh Oasis Shrine Club so these guys are with the Shriners look at it in second on Michigan it looks like for right now in front of us we have montro AYSO soccer quite the program we have here montro for AYSO soccer uh everyone's included everyone's uh able to participate um have fun and enjoy the wonderful Sports of soccer up next we have the montro Eagles Club I was going to say these guys have a lot of history in the city of montro uh just I mean just being a genuine help oh someone in the crowd with the montro Eagles I see is another classmate in the Middle School Zion coming up right behind the Eagles we have uh retro FR of Michigan now these guys are oh we got an interview here so we're going to get right to Rachel Rachel I'm here with Greg Greg what is it like like walking in the super parade the best thing ever been doing this my whole life great people great fun good and what's your favorite part about the Blueberry Festival all the people enjoying montos thank you Greg back to you Owen take care rro foam here in mantro uh they're located mantro Republican party they're uh throwing uh some candy that's nice and coming up for a while be the Monro youth football program uh all the way from grades uh third to seventh uh third and fourth grade and then fifth grade sixth grade and seventh grade uh and then we have the monro's fire department behind that and let Jack like said earlier the uh montro youth football and cheer program I was going to say yeah they treat they treat their players very well in the uh in the youth uh leagues I was going to say I absolutely loved the uh program when I played they are going crazy hey they're speaking facts though they're speaking facts montose is on top got an arm on that kid we're going to have to be looking out for him in our broadcasts that's Max Miller he's uh quite the athlete and here we got the uh sixth grade team that was seventh grade team ni ahead and now have seventh grade team oh jeez they are absolutely slinging candy at us my brother's on his team oo piece of candy this is the first time in this in this super parade that I have had a piece of candy thrown at me like to wish uh all montro youth teams some good luck this season season is coming close up in the fifth grade team [Music] right here we have the third and fourth grade team [Music] now we have the montos youth cheerleaders [Music] now before this parade ends at the very end of back of the pack we have in the
