we're just about set to kick off and now the coin toss and it's presented by Nissan Innovation that excites [Applause] Georgia has lined up for the kickoff and we're ready to get this one underway excellent kick across the 30 he's out of bounds around the 37 yd line hey that's a pretty good return there to open this game up now the offense gets ready to take their first crack at it he scrambled and they get the sack a great defensive man in college football just pins his ears back and has again that extra instinct to know when the jump the snap C when to take a chance on third down it seems like they almost saved their extra pass rush and extra incentive as far as their energy when it really matters on a third down when they feel like they can beat that offensive tackle and get off the line of scrimage a little bit quicker that's something that I think we've seen him do throughout this game it's third down and they're about two yd shy of the [Applause] sticks and he's taken down at about the 47 yd line that was some sure tackling to make sure he didn't pick up the first down Swanson is the putter this punt bounces into the end zone and this will be a Touchback the quarterback brings his troops out onto the field for the first drive of the game off balance and they can't connect great job by the defense and getting after that quarterback and right now I think they've got him with some Happy Feet appears to be a bit battle second down and 10 to go B on their own [Applause] 20 drop down at about the 35 the linebacker here bites on the play fake and once that happens there's plenty of room for a nice [Applause] completion throws complete he's got room to work and they make the stop at around the 4 Y Line yeah the defense looked a little sluggish there and they can do better than that from their own 48 yd line first down we Quick Pass tight end and he wasn't ready for it number 84 the intended receiver on the play that makes it second and 10 [Music] the ball is loose and the defense picks it up he's at the 40 tackle around the 34 yd line good hustle there by the D lineman it's often an overused term when referring to defensive lineman but that's what they mean when they talk about a guy has a motor that's running he never quit and he played to the whistle I got you buy and he's tackled at the 39 L some y on the play that'll bring up second to the 39 yd line it's second [Applause] down out of Bounds at the 43 of Y that'll up third throws it out and it falls incomplete they looked a little sluggish on that series I'm curious to see if they pick things up when they get the ball doesn't want to let the punt returner have a chance here he just wants to change field position oh excellent punt this punt goes over the goal line and this will be a Touchback this is a fun game and I think we're going to see a lot of interesting football before it's over tackle made around the 22 yd line Mak it from their own 22 yd line Second down tries to fit it in there and it'll be intercepted at the 30 they'll bring him down around the 26 yd line that was perfect coverage against a pretty good route who was all over that pass two two fires it out and he's all the way in for the touchdown [Applause] that was some kind of catch and run by the halfback that was a mismatch that the offense took advantage of he completely burned the defender for the score that's a great touchdown Brad but what happened to the coverage there by the defense the defensive coordinator got to be beside himself you know you work all week long on studying the offense and their Tendencies and then to have a mental err to leave the star receiver open like that for a touchdown well they've got to regroup Clemson ready to kick this one off he kicks it off and he got all of that one this one's going to be down in the end zone for a Touchback the Tigers really came prepared to play defense today and the plan is working well so far in this game you've got to tip your cap to the defensive coordinator he has clearly done a very good job of getting his team ready to play and they have done a nice job of slowing down this very explosive offense quick release oh had it knocked down smart heady play by that Defender that was solid fun pass defense from their own 25 yd line Second down slings it the 50 he's taken down ground to 4 yd Line This secondary better tighten it up theying to slow down this drive [Applause] so let's see how the defense responds now it's first down and 10 he's tackle at the 27 really there's not much more the defense could do there they had outstanding coverage was just good execution from the quarterback making the right throw and the receiver going up and making a catch we go here we [Music] go and down he goes around the 17 yd line brings up second and one short yardage situation here it's second down and one we nice run there this is the kind of steady strong drive that coaches love love to see right now they're firing on all [Applause] cylinders big play there and now they're looking it first and goal makes it first and it's first down so inside the five with a first and goal a short yardage defense here touchdown Georgia and the halfback took it in for the score y he punched that in from a short distance he had great blocking up front on that play they'll line up for the extra point in an attempt to tie the game he makes the pat Georgia get had to kick this one away he really got a hold of that kick and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback I don't think either team has a clear Advantage so far let's see if they can make some plays and get a little separation gets it that quickly and he's hit immediately not a real fancy play here just a smartly run route good protection and a well-placed ball most times you don't need much more than that it's first and 10 ball on the 35 yd line gets to about the 37 yd line the Bulldog running game really took a big hit their keyb went out earlier with the injury doesn't look like he's going to be able to come back today we've played one quarter we're even at seven in this one set to resume action here in the second quarter and we're dead even Zips it to the back and he's Tak around the 4 four yd line that's good for a gain of seven y so it's third down and they've got about two yards to go looking for the corner he gets hit out of bounds right around the 44 yd line first down two two two and he throws it away even though they didn't sack him the pressure was still enough to force a bad pass if you can get in there and disrupt the pocket and the quarterback is going to have a tougher time getting the ball to his Playmakers from the 44 yd line Second down and they got it man it's an offensive lineman this is the worst thing you want see is your quarterback not only getting sacked but getting hit like that those linemen better pick that quarterback up and start doing a better job of taking care [Applause] of you can chalk that one up to the hundreds of passes the quarterback has thrown to this receiver in practice these guys know and trust each other and you could see it in the way he threw that pass George is going to take their first time out of the half from the 27 yd line first down pass complete and taken down immediately number at the tack at the 21 yd line that'll make it second and four it's the ninth play of the drive check check check check and a quick throw and he's tackled in the open field first first down 10 to go ball in the [Applause] 14 strike to the receiver touchdown W and a nice catch by the receiver for the touchdown anytime you're near the Red Zone you got to keep an eye for this guy they'd love going to him down here they got great concentration from everyone to connect on that flag patter and he TS on the extra point so a 10 play 74 yd drive and that's good for a touchdown Clemson the kick he sends this one deep this one's going to be down in the end zone for a Touchback I think any good football team has to have an ability to answer and that's exactly what we just saw one team scores a touchdown the other team comes right back and puts another touchdown on the board this is getting exited tackle after a decent run up the gut that's good for y that makes it second and second down and six ball in the 29 nice run up the middle that's good for gain five y that'll make it third and [Applause] one he makes his way to about the 42 how about that conversion on third down good push here by the guys up front and they are really starting to work hard in the trenches we've got a first and 10 ball on the 42 yd line complet it but he can't shake the defense I think he's got a good rhythm going right now with his wide receivers he hit him for a nice game brought down the 42 yd line George is going to have to use their second time out of the half first and 10 ball on the 42 yd line there are five wide receivers split out the quarterback in the gun there's a strike complete and they make the stop right around the 16 yd line and that's the way you're supposed to play pitch and K absolutely you know this wide receiver is a Difference Maker he's one of those players that has a chance to go the distance every time you get him the ball tries to thread the needle and it's not going to work and he will score so a great play by the defender to give his team six points that was a very good play and that will certainly help build his team's momentum and he hits the [Applause] pat well apparently this return team just doesn't trust the kicker they're in an onside kick formation he just drills this one and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback so the offense will come back out onto the field hoping for a little better result than that last pick six this quarterback needs to be a little bit more careful because this defense is excellent on capitalizing off the mistakes tackle the 39 yd line Quick [Applause] Pass first and 10 ball on the 39 yd line and he hits him hard the 49 yd [Applause] line quick throw and he's got the tight end again good open field tackle know the quarterback that time took his big time major Chance by putting that ball up in coverage now the receiver made the play they get a first down but if you're quarterback you want to be very very selective and very careful on how many chances you're willing to take the tight end's got it for a first down he'll take it all the way for the touchdown wow an almost impossible pass to the fin and it goes for six yep the defense would have needed 12 guys on the field that [Applause] time he splits the uprights with the extra point so a four play 75 yd drive and a touchdown as a result well Brad right now this offense is hot and they also took advantage of some mistakes there by the defense the score now 2114 this one's going to be down in the end zone for a Touchback momentum swings have been fairly even and with so little separation this game can be drastically changed on just one or two plays Clemson is up seven and he's tackled at about the 27 yd line that makes it second and eight from their own 27 yd line it's second down a great first half comes to a close 2114 tiger what a terrific first half this is everything we anticipated this game being and we're going to be riveted to this game I feel like David in the second half anticipating a terrific finish it's it's fun it's it's it's living up to the hype every single time we can't even turn the channel here we got it on the big screen on the big 60 in yes it's quite nice by the way too the weather's nice and warms beautiful got some chips we're opening them up a little bit but great game living up to the height it definitely feels like both teams are evenly matched it feels like it can go either way it feels like it's going to come down to the wire and the only thing I hope it doesn't come down to is a kicker please don't come down to a kick in the end both these teams playing great D playing great o you know physical you know pounding on each other making big plays don't come down to a finesse kick by like a soccer player please just about time to get you back out for the second half R and Kirk will be along in just a second you're looking forward to keeping an eye on everything around the country here got a good a good game score we're locked and loaded we got all the big screens going you're going to be looking to hand out some helmet stickers later we loaded man I'll try you think you can keep on your shoes in the second half I try to they stinky yes Brad and Kirk you're at a safe distance take it away all right Rees and David thanks guys second half action just about ready to start here nice kick plenty of distance and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback this deficit can be easily overcome sure but they have to be thinking if they don't get something going on this series the burden is going to be felt by their defense fires quickly and he's got his man tackle made at the 42 [Applause] from their own 42 yd line first down three looks left finding his tail back they'll bring him down around the 47 yd [Music] [Applause] [Music] line makes it to the [Applause] 44 from the 44 yd line it's first down and he makes it out to about the 41 yd line gain of Y that'll make it second and [Applause] [Music] seven tackled after decent pickup y first down first down 10 yds to go ball on the 34 yd [Applause] line he fights forward to about the 33 that's a game of that makes it second [Applause] [Music] [Applause] and they go with a run he brought down in the back field where in the world was he going on that run well that's a good question I thought for a while he got his directions messed up and this is the eighth play of the drive nearly intercepted how did he drop that the defender did everything that he needs to do he read the play perfectly he stepped up and what does he do he drops the interception boy the offense caught a break there sure I really agree with this call to go for it but that's why I'm not coaching folks he's taken down around the 9 yd line makes it first and and this is the 10th play of the drive nice run and he's brought down t a gain of four y that brings up second and goal from the 5 yd line Second down and down he goes at the three y that makes it third and this is the 12th play of this drive defense and their short yardage [Applause] packing he's tackled around the one yd line that's a gain of two the that brings up fourth and goal can the defense make a stop fourth down and goal to go we're at the one yd line fires quickly to the tight end he's got it [Applause] touchdown here's the pat to tie this thing up and he converts the extra [Applause] point they line up to kick this one away he really got a hold of that kick this one's going to be down to the the end zone for a Touchback now's when you start to approach each Drive thinking that if you take the lead then the momentum you gain feels that much more powerful quick strike to the receiver he tackles him for a loss that makes it second second down and 10 to go ball on their own [Applause] 25 pass right running backs got they'll knock him down for a [Applause] loss two two little nearly picked off but he couldn't hold it brown was the intended target on the play and that'll make it fourth down great hold by the defense they were expecting the pass play and they defended it very well Swanson is the punter he punts it away and it's a great kick signals for a fair Catch the quarterback did a really good job in the last Drive of finding his receivers in space and I bet he'll be looking to do the same thing again hand off up the middle he makes it to the 32 yd line so at the end of three 2121 ball game [Applause] into the fourth quarter now and we're back to the action complete across the middle and he's immediately [Applause] tackled from their own 43 yd line first down he's got it out to his tight end he's out of bounds around the 45 yd line they pick up a few yards there on the pass and I'll tell you what that fake hand off froze the secondary just enough to allow for the receiver to come up with a nice gain that time good call got his receiver dropped it incomplete on the from the 45 yd line second down CAU and a big hit he stopped in his tracks up [Applause] third brought down after a nice run up the Middle Georgia will take their first time out of the half from the 32 yd line first down looks to the back and can't connecte numberer this is the eighth play of this drive fires that quickly incomplete Thomas was the intended receiver on the play third down now and they need to get it to the [Applause] [Music] 22 gets it out to his receiver a hurry and he's taken down at the 17 this is the 10th play of this drive and he's tackled after positive [Applause] yardage they're about four yds away here on second [Applause] down touchdown Georgia and he TS on the extra point an 11 play 69 yd drive and it's good for seven points woodr ready to [Applause] kick he sends this one deep and it goes into the end zone down for a Touchback you know this is a real crucial time in the game it could still go either way easy easy easy easy fires quick out to the receiver and he can't make the grab on the makes it second from their own 25 ydd line it's second down two two The Falls incomplete receiver on the play third down here they come throws this one out to the right that's incomplete more intended receiver on the play that'll make it fourth and 10 Swanson is waiting for the [Applause] snap he makes it out to maybe the 43 yd line George has been out gaining and out gunning him on offense Herby but we still got a tight game yeah they've more than doubled them in total yards and yet as you said it's a tight game here in the fourth quarter this is kind of a shocker to me this is a pretty crucial Series right here with things being so tight your best players have to step it up on both sides of the ball quick strike and he drops it that was textbook coverage by the defense that's exactly what you want to do on every single pass play but it doesn't always happen second down 10 yds to go ball on the 43 yd Line pass complete and taken down immediately on the to the Y Line that'll bring up third and four less than three minutes in the game fir quick tis very Stern effort there by the defense they weren't giving up anything on that series that makes it and Thorson awaits the snap little too much leg into that punt they'll bring it out to the 20 both teams realize that when the ball is snapped we're one play away from a very different ball game there are five wide receivers split out the quarterback in the gun got some open field makes it to the 34 from their own 34 yd line it's first down Down's go goes up and the defense has got it that's a l of Y on the that makes it and gor going to have to use their second time out of the half they come up to the line here it's second down and 14 after the sack we caught open field he gets hit Out of Bounds at the 38 yd line seven y that'll bring up third and six got his man can't tack on any yardage looks like they're going to go for it on fourth down that's a great tackle at the 46 first that's they don't want it a little over a minute in the game throws it in a hurry I think he could have taken a risk down the field but he played it safe instead and that's one of the keys to winning ball games Clemson's going to use their first time out of the half here they need about three yards to get the first here on second down he makes a catch and has a first down and they make the stop around the 40 yd line the Tigers use their second timeout here's the eighth play of the series two two and that just might do it intercepted oh no they really didn't need that and as a quarterback you can't give up an interception late in the game you got to be more careful with the football the Bulldogs they're going to have to call their third and final timeout first and 10 B on their own 32 we should just see the quarterback take a knee right here winding down the rest of this clock Clemson will take their final [Applause] timeout he takes a KNE [Applause] and they get nice yardage on that run you know great effort here by the ball carrier but I think they need the pass in that situation most of the time this one's in the books and our final score 28-21 Georgia so Kirk how would you sum up the action of this one you wouldn't figure either team would pull away and it' go right down to the very end this was a really exciting matchup Georgia made the plays they had to to win this game and that's what it often comes down to with two evenly matched teams whoever comes through in a clutch gets the w that's
