BIG SKY KICKOFF 2024 - Sac State All-American offensive lineman Jackson Slater on upcoming season

so I recently just saw that Jim naggie tweeted about you did you see that yeah Senior Bowl how do you feel about that yeah I mean it's really cool to be recognized by Jim and I met him last week at the oine masterminds deal um in Frisco um so it's really cool to kind of know them on their radar a little bit um I think a lot of small school guys are goal is to go to the Senior Bowl and kind of be able to show what they can do um so just knowing I'm on the radar and kind of me personally understanding the things I can improve on this season kind of help me out there um I think is really important for me going forward so so with that looking at some of the things he he mentioned towards the end of the post about like what he would want to see you do better how does that make you feel yeah I mean you know I think any good player you know knows there's always stuff to improve on um and you know me personally just self-evaluating um he mentioned finishing you know more you know kind of just more effort plays I think uh I fully agree with that I think I can show more uh my athleticism or having nastier finishes whatever it may be um something that something I'm focusing on this year and hopefully can put on tape okay so um what are some of your personal goals for the season and then what are some of you guys' team goals this year uh personally um you know start every game uh you know stay healthy I feel like that's the name of the game um you know first team allamerican all conference is always a goal for sure um and then you know team goals um you know the the main goal is National Championship um but you know winning the Big Sky I think is doable this year um you know playoff birth uh whatever it may be just having a successful year overall um kind of thing how's the summer been for you it's been good yeah um you know a lot of stuff with like talking to agents um whatever it may be kind of figuring that out and I think um you know taking that time over the summer uh is important I think just because you know that's where you have the most time and you I don't know I don't want to deal with it during the season for sure um I took a summer school class um because I'm going to graduate in the fall so had to knock that out and then I got a full schedule in the fall um so I'll be graduated after the season um but yeah I mean summer class went well got like a a minus so you know that's always awesome um and then just team workouts team bonding stuff you know hanging out with the o line uh it's been really fun our family on our mom side has a deep get accelerated when you know the Jim naggie post happened or was it already kind of where it was at yeah it was already pretty um you know pretty high I think uh just with the the grades that come out like the blesto grade or the uh National Scouting Report grade um so i' already been kind of getting hitting up but the naggie thing definitely you know I'm sure a lot of Agents follow him and you know know what he says is you know true um so there's been a little bit that here and there but um you know it's been a cool process um definitely I mean personally I didn't think it was going to happen this early um but it's definitely cool to go through talk to a lot of people kind of get some info um yeah it's been going good so last one for me so I know that people say you don't want to look past any opponent if you could say you're circling one opponent on your schedule who would that be I think State this year um you know year in in year out they're a good team um played them pretty close last year I think lost by score two um and we're playing them at home um so going to Boseman will be fun um you know I love the the Montana crowds that get out there and the heckling and stuff that goes on uh I think I thrive in those environments for sure so uh should be a fun game what about the Y Davis game yeah Davis has always circled you know the Rivalry the caway classic um and you know they got a good team this year L larrison's obviously um a big part of that um so hopefully be being able we got them at sack this year so and that's our senior night game so it'd be a good way to go out against wi against Davis all right man thank you
