[Music] [Music] welcome to live from N5 fresh off the back of that great win against Aston Villa we're here at emirat Stadium hoping to make it three wins from three as we Face fellow top of the table visitors Brighton as always we'll be bringing you team news supporters views and we might even play a game or two in between as we soak up the atmosphere live from N5 [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] hello again I've made it up to the my Arsenal rewards box with This brilliant bunch of gooners guys I want to chat to you in a minute and find out how you're feeling I know we've got one person in the audience who is going to be very very tired because he has walked an unbelievable amount of steps in the past 24 hours I could not do it he is my hero and we are going to I'm looking at him right now we are going to be chatting to you if if you can find it in yourself to actually speak cuz you must be exhausted but I don't know about you guys I am so excited for today's game this is my first game back at emirat stadium and just even walking through I was like oh soaking up the atmosphere and quite a few things have changed as well by the way including some new arrivals to the team which we will talk about are we firstly are we feeling excited about some of our new signings yeah yeah yeah I know I am um but guys I mean how are you how are you feeling I don't know if you were here for the first game of the season maybe it's your first time here at Emirates this season so far granted this is the third game of the season but how are you feeling talk to me who wants who wants to go first who's feeling brave go on what's your name as well it's hello it's on it is on yeah everyone can hear you at home great just checking just check hi my name is zman I've been a season ticket holder for 3 years um I was at the Wolves game it was great really enjoyed the Villa Game and I'm excited for today yeah I mean are we hoping because obviously we've managed to keep clean sheets so far again I know it's early on in the season but you've got to take every win and every clean sheet that you can are we hoping to see more of that today because look Brighton are a good side aren't they yeah for sure I mean I've got SRA and Ray Mel so I hope so but um yeah no I think defensively you know our record speaks for itself and I think you know Brighton isn't you know with all due respect they're not the most you know attacking you know side we've ever faced you know we kept to clean sheet the aads only one considered anfield like brighten at home should be routine hopefully sorry I do realize we had a new Adrien Clark in here reing off the facts and stats excited um okay I mean I hear you I I would say that Brighton again I know it's early on in the season we can't get too carried away with any results right but they are a strong side and they're not a side for us to take lightly obviously I'm backing the Gunners to do the business today but you know guys how are you feeling about coming up against this side here I mean to some extent it's like you have to be confident as well cuz it's like how you start the season how you continue it and with like the clean sheets and stuff I think you have to to make sure you don't come under pressure early cuz it's when you're under pressure that that's more likely to break down so you have to I think just keep that confidence High have faith in the squad and just keep it going basically and I mean I I've never played football professionally or remotely professionally although I did once win a tournament that had three teams in it yay small victories but I can imagine I mean if I'm a Defender and a goalkeeper I think there's something in the fact that you know you've got those clean sheets already you must kind of go okay guys let's let's keep another one and another one but let's kind of see how many in a row we can get because I think I'm also right in saying that this is the first time since the 1971 72 season that we've kept two consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League which is I mean that's quite James is like wow thank you I'm glad you like that um but that's I mean quite an interesting stat right and it's maybe a bit surprising because we've had some incredible Arsenal sides over the years of course but I think there's something in you know we know how good our defense are but maybe in in the mentality side of things right when you've kept a couple of clean sheets you you just really then don't want to let a goal in in the next game and you just want to try and keep that run going for as long as you can is is what I'm thinking I'm trying to put Good Vibes out there can you tell I think it's working um yeah so yeah I mean you can see that they really care care about the clean sheets now I mean Cela cracking back against Villa and that that frankly amazing tackle and obviously ry's saves that you know they're amazing but it's almost like they are celebrating every defensive block now almost as much as someone scoring a goal which you know if you think about it he's just as important if the if that that thing off the crossbar went in we're one nil down mhm and we weren't playing that great If we're honest at that time so that that that save or that double save is is critic I absolutely agree and I think that's such a good point and I I don't know about you but I love to see it and let us know at home get involved on X you can get in touch at Arsenal with the hasht live from N5 we want to hear your thoughts on these topics too but I was having this chat with my friend the other day and I was saying I love it when Defenders are like yeah when they've like blocked a shot because it is the equivalent of you know a striker either scoring a goal or making a good attempt on goal I want to see that iasm and it's that passion right and that's what we've seen in the past couple of seasons from this Arsenal side and that's what we as supporters love that's what we're enjoying from Mikel Etta's Arsenal team aren't we yeah the only thing that's missing is someone smacking their heads when they do a block like they do when they score a goal but they you know they really care about it and that's the important thing yeah and we're going to get on to team news in a moment you guys have probably already seen it and might have some views and thoughts on it um but I do I do just want to chat to James quickly first if we can if we can get the microphone back back down the line to James so James you have just walked in the past 24 hours from Brighton to the emirat stadium for charity I've got so many questions I mean I was going to say why but for charity that's amazing an amazing thing to do and I want you to tell us more about that as well I also want to know how many steps is that how long did it take but first will go with how are you feeling uh I'm a bit of a shiv man uh I've been I've been it's been a roller Co coaster of emotions for the past 24 hours starting off feeling very fresh-faced uh I actually had the had the energy to do the first 20 km running what uh and then I I quickly realized that I can't run the whole thing so uh so started walking but again I didn't want to take too many breaks cuz every time you take a break you start getting stiff and seasoning up so um yeah I just moted on and uh I had a goal in mind which was to get to the Emirates of course I had a time that I had to be here okay and uh yeah it just kept me motivated and everyone donating as well I'm hugely appreciative of that because seeing every every few hours checking the donation page and really really generous donations it um it just kept me going and it was really great to see oh amazing guys please give James a round of applause I mean what an achievement how long did it take you then um so it took me about 16 and 1 half hours straight straight walking um and then I did have a I had a break uh I had a a quick sleep about a 5 hour sleep but yeah apart from that it was just motoring on um wow and here I am now I feel good but I probably look a shell of a man and uh my legs are definitely feeling it so as soon as I get up I think it's going to be tough oh well we'll carry you out won't we you know the Arsenal family I mean well done amazing stuff and quickly what charity was it for that you've been for the Arsenal Foundation of course it only made sense oh I didn't know that so that's actually so lovely to hear well well done I mean I will come back to you a bit later on but I'm going to let you rest for a moment because we are going to look at the team news our starting 11 for today's game against Brighton let's have a look here we go so I think there's only one change from last time out so we've got Ray White CA Gabrielle Timber parte rice odard sacka trossard trossard and hav so I mean you guys have probably seen this lineup had a couple of moments to digest it I I mean I'm happy it's a strong lineup right and that is the joyous part of being an Arsenal supporter at the moment is we could put out a a fair few lineups and we would all be feeling pretty confident with whoever is on the pitch right because we have options and we've got such a good squad um I'm not that surprised at this lineup obviously a big talking point is trossard in for Martinelli that's a tough call right this is why I'm not a manager I'm not Mel artetta because I don't want to be making those decisions to incredibly talented players obviously um I I see I wanted to ask your opinions do we have do we have a a microphone or you about to get a certain somebody I think we might have a special guest ready I'm going to tee him up first you're okay so everyone in the my Arsenal rewards box is looking at me like who is this so this is a Boyhood Gunner won the FA Cup with Arsenal and made over 50 appearances for the club are you starting to think you know who it might be um not only did he enjoy stopping goals but didn't mind contributing at the other end either who is it let's have a look there it Özil here is Gibbs can arsal get the second goal in Podolski it's blocked and kle jenkinson has scored his first ever Arsenal goal he was in the stars please give it up for former Gunner Carl jenkinson hello hi I'm going to help you how are you a good how are you good thanks um stand stand here do I want you to stand there in the middle I don't know um you look very smart yeah I thought uh better overdressed than underdressed right so yeah maybe overdone it a bit but there we go are you dressing up for live from N5 or is it because you're in one of the nice boxes yeah no in yeah in one of the nice boxes yeah I was kindly asked to I actually in the director's box today which is real honor to be invited to that so yeah I feel a bit overdressed but you know it is what it is I actually got my old uh club club tie on I thought let's go for it why not how did it feel putting the tie on then this morning yeah well I dug it out I've still got like my my tires from all the years that I was here and I just thought oh this one looks good had a match in um pocket square and I thought oh that would do Jazzy um what is it like then Cole coming back to Emirates is it really nice to be home seeing familiar faces as well yeah I love it and I love both sides of it cuz obviously kindly been invited by the club today which is great because I get to see people that I worked with and all different people from all around the club and then there's you know when I come with my dad and we we sit you know where we sit and have the have the experience as a fan which is you know what we've always been as well so it's kind of nice like amazing to be invited back by the club and do it this way too but yeah I was here at the first game of the season with my dad as well and I love doing that too so when you come as a supporter and I always find this interesting for athletes in general right obviously can you sit and just chill and actually enjoy the game or are you kind of sitting there as like a player mentality being like Oh I wouldn't have done done that that was a great pass like can you actually just switch off and enjoy it as a supporter yeah I can now I can absolutely and um yeah of course you probably look with slightly different eyes when you watch a game um but at the same time like I just just come and watch and enjoy the games now and just you know it is what it is I don't really yeah I mean I don't get too caught up in tactics and this and that and yeah I just I just get behind the lad and hope we win do you know what I mean that's it um I don't get yeah too invested in that side of stuff if you know what I mean and you were part of the Arsenal side that won the FA Cup in 2014 I think we might embarrass you with some really cute pictures on the screen in a moment yeah I love that um what was that like what what an incredible achievement hey yeah I mean I've still got the the medal at home at my mom and dad's and um yeah I mean to say you've lifted the FA Cup for your boy of Club I mean yeah it's uh so I don't know if you can spot you it's beit like where's w that's you I mean that's what one of my best mates from school's Brothers oh wow and my other mate kingy around there somewhere but um yeah I mean their memories that will never go away not just for me but for my family too do you know what I mean oh look at this team Jack Wilshire holding the trophy good expression from you love that just staring at the e c like your face yeah I want to know what you were saying in that moment you're like whoa but is that a moment that kind of does live with you forever does it feel like yesterday cuz obviously it was you know a little while ago now yeah no it feels a while ago now for sure um but yeah it's a Memory that never goes away there's all different things that happen in your life I suppose that you you remember clearly for the rest of your life and you know lifting the FA Cup I mean it will never be much clearer than that and if you know it's something you always remember and you always be very proud of do you know what I mean have F FA Cup winners medal is like for your boy at Club is it don't get any better than that yeah and you've been playing out in Australia haven't you recently were you actually able to watch games were you getting up at midnight talk to us I'll be honest this is a safe space we're not judging you why you getting it was difficult it was difficult I watched maybe two or three a season but it's it was middle of the night and I either had a game or I training the next day so it was like well you want to watch your club but you also want to train well the next day and play well yourself so yeah it was difficult but um yeah that was one of the hard things actually like just not football and and the Arsenal but also family and everything the time difference was crazy so that was hard that was hard work but um it was a it was a great experience a great adventure and best thing I ever did really really yeah in terms of like a life experience like had two and a half years there I lived in Melbourne for a bit and then Newcastle for two years and just opens your eyes up to to different stuff different ways of life and it was an amazing lifestyle um brunches they love their Branch there didn't yeah sunny beaches you know it was amazing I can't lie but um family and stuff always it never goes away you can't replace people so I always knew I'd come back and you know I'm really happy to be back now um and then what is next for you what's on the horizon any any breaking news Carl J nothing breaking right now and I'm just um training keeping fit at the moment I've been at the PFA camp for the last six weeks just maintaining my fitness and yeah just waiting to see what comes along really I want to keep playing football I love football um my body still works still functions so um yeah just just waiting to see and hopefully something comes along which you know gives me the chance to keep playing and and doing what I love okay well we'll be keeping an eye out for any Carl jenkinson breaking news I was hoping You' give us a little scoop that would go viral Carl that was yeah sorry I'm disappointed in you there absolutely not apologies before I let you go and have a lovely time in the director's box which we are all very jealous of we want to know your dream fide team from players that you've played with at Arsenal and I putting you on the spot a bit and you've played with some incredible players so I'll give you approximately 3 seconds to have a little think Carl yeah I've got a few that spring to mine straight away yeah for five aside team should I just get going now go go straight down the camera to the supporters at home okay where's the camera there uh I would say Thomas Riki love just he was just so good technically Santi cazola is often a go-to cuz he was just right foot left foot am I meant to be given reasons why or just say the name I know you can that's great yeah um backy sagna um he was ahead of me for many years and rightly so because he was unbelievable Defender um so good um I'm gonna say I'm gonna say Aon Ramsey yeah just cuz he was just a a constant in the Arsenal side while I was at the club scor goals just was just a great team player um and then I'm going to go with Olivier Jud a yeah I really lik Olivier I think he's a fantastic player he always scored goals throughout his career um so yeah Ole shout out olle if you're watching at home not a bad team right that would be that be oh well didn't think about I don't think yeah Rush keeper we play Rush keeper versatility in this team all right Carl thank you so much we are going to let you head off and enjoy the game and I'm guessing you are predicting an Arsenal win 3-0 today oh 3 tough game but 3-0 and happy with the lineup I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure I will be basically same as last time out just TR Arden for Martinelli okay interesting yeah nice yeah I can't wait long now well um I think fry has actually been at player arrival so we can have a look now and see who's been coming into Emirates Stadium what's going on guys we are here at the Emirates for that game against Brighton and I can't wait to see what we can do obviously we've had them here we've had great games against them here and hopefully we can do that once again we've got the people coming through here the coaches love that and listen it's going to be a great day we of course have won our first and second game of the season hopefully we can make it a third got the captain walking past a we' got Kai of course he was here last year and scored the winner that took the fre points from Brighton we got Bayo we got trossard who got his first goal of the Season against Aston Villa coming off the bench and doing his thing and also someone else that got his their first goal of the Season Thomas P hopefully he might be the one that comes out next no we got Kio man like Kio there looking mad relaxed that's what I like to see and we got David Rah what you saying man you good David Rah in the building of course he won uh sorry he was in team of the season for the PFA um I was happy enough to get my SU on you know go over there and catch the Vibes that was absolutely brilliant we got will yeah man like William Cel we see very good he had a great game against Villa and listen we're hoping he's going to have another great game like that today um I think that's it so listen guys I'm going to send it straight back to you great stuff thank you fy I always love seeing behind the scenes it's always quite exciting isn't it okay I am now joined by an Arsenal invincible Jeremy Ali adier Jeremy lovely to see you you took your time didn't you yeah it's been a bit of a rush yeah how are you though you good I'm good thank you yeah you yeah I'm well I'm very well I'm really excited to be here and obviously we've got a new show live from N5 and um massive screen behind me great gooners in the Box what is there not to love jez but what have you been up to because you've been doing a lot of training the oh yeah I've well um it's been in my mind for for a few years I've always you know every year around the London Marathon I see all that excitement and I've always wanted to challenge myself but never really had the courage or the cause to do it and my dad passed away couple of years ago of pancreatic cancer so I just thought this is you know this is the time for me to to do it and um so yeah so I've contacted pancreatic cancer UK um and they gave me a place for the next year marath so obviously I've uh started running amazing I mean that's a wonderful cause and yeah I mean I'm sure we're all going to completely get behind you and support you and be cheering you on thank how is training going must be tough right hard hard I must say very hard you know you think because you've been an athlete you can actually run but marathon is it's a different game it's like running for four five hours or however long it take you to to complete it and and yeah i' uh I respect them people them Runners were much more than I did uh back in the day yeah I mean uh you you missed it earlier but we've got James here in the my sore rewards box with us who has casually walked from Brighton to emirat Stadium in the past 24 hours and ran quite a bit of it as well okay so you need to get some tip yeah you might give me some tips then of of training and how to uh yeah we'll have a chat oh that's wonderful but surely you're super fit right I know you've not played for a while but come on no you know what playing football or running for hours is just completely different you think you're fit but you're you know playing you stop st you get recovery you know when you run for 3 four hours there's no recovery unless you just stop completely and start walking so which is not obviously what I want to do I want to I want to train properly and try to do in in the best time I can I can do you know oh you see that is the difference between an actual Elite mentality that one would have as an athlete and someone like me I would be like just get it done if I craw I craw you're like I'm going to do it and I'm going to do it in a good time I challenge myself yeah I want to do it that's the competitiveness in there you know in me I just want to do it doing the you know best time I can do and and really commit to it amazing and I've also not seen you since the 20th anniversary of the Invincible 20th anniversary I mean that makes me feel does it make you I was going to say does it make you I still feel I could go out there and play but obviously when when you do end up playing having a kiab back with friends you realize that time gone yeah but how do you reflect on such an incredible achievement and and time in your life the only thing for me is just at the time I didn't take it all in I guess but now I know it was the best time of my life like the the thing we've lived the the bond that we had it's like even till now and it's been you know 20 years as you said over 20 years and we still chat to each other we've got group chat and and we just always keep in touch wishing everybody happy birthdays and and all that kind of stuff which I'm not sure there's many team that still in contact everybody from the from the squad 20 years on so yeah and I was just be part of that of that Squad that team and that club at the time was just was just yeah incredible amazing a I love that there's a group chat I really want to see it later so I can see what the picture is you know like every group chat has a little I'll show oh yeah I'll get the inside and speaking of elite I'm sure most of us were glued to our TVs this summer watching the Olympics in Paris some of us jez were lucky enough to be there oh yeah who that yeah who's that it was incredible and I'm sure everyone enjoyed it so much at home we saw 131 athletes step onto the podium for teamgb and we have one of those athletes here with us today so excited to have him he's a massive goona double Olympic diving medalist it is the incredible Noah Williams oh he's got the medal to you no if you stand in the middle for us I mean firstly let's just have a moment [Applause] for I'm like they're heavy though oh they're so heavy that's okay firstly I mean congratulations obviously how are you feeling what is it like coming back to London and I guess kind of back to normality although I've seen you out and about at different events and stuff with the medals so yeah talk to us how are you feeling no I'm feeling good um I'm obviously happy I'm here that's the main thing I'm happy about I can't lie I've been at a few events but this is the best one um yeah you've got to say that no I have to but no um yeah life feels normal it's weird it almost feels like a dream Paris like it was obviously out there like super intense I was obviously so happy but then you come back and yeah life's normal and is it is it though I feel like it can't be no jez is like I'm not lying I can't be normal with this to I'm not just going to supermarket with either are you wearing them every day like are you no way no way I've been instructed to Nicole said I had to no to be fair so we obviously chatted in Paris and I didn't realize you were a goona as well and then I saw you post on your Instagram story that Arsenal had started following you I wish they followed no not not but they like they liked my pck getting a med and commented oh they didn't follow you maybe no it's no but either way I I was gased I was literally I was also genuinely my girlfriend tell you I was happier with the comment and the like than the medal I was going around telling everyone posted on my I didn't even posted about like many things yet but I was like I've got to post this on my story yeah oh okay so this is obviously then quite a cool moment for you not I'm like how cool for you to be stood with me and Jet as live from I mean you're an Olympic Legend now this is cool I was I was more ner for this I was like okay I need to prepare make sure what they're going to ask me no not at all but we are going to ask you about you know you growing up as a goona I suppose tell us your story yeah I mean I uh my first game I came think I came to I was about six and it was here or maybe s but either way I was young I was like right up at the top and I remember the first game I ever came I was like to my dad I was like where's the commentary cuz my I I didn't know I needed glasses so I couldn't actually see the pitch and I was like I can't I want to know who's who and like I can't hear anything and yeah it turns out that's not a thing but um no I mean I love I love it I try and come whenever I can obviously I travel in a lot with diving but yeah you know what's hard season tickets here are like gold dust one day I'll get one that's like that's better than a that's better than a minut I'll trade both of these and then you can get me here every week there we go you're like if you're listening Mel or or anyone I mean I don't think they deal with season tickets today no's like if you can then but no I mean Arsenal's like genu obviously a huge part of my life like a lot of my friends are supporters so we get it's just obviously something to talk about something to celebrate especially with how well they're doing at the moment is great yeah absolutely I guess you don't remember me playing too young for and I know being honest well the Invincible was like 21 years ago I was three yeah actually wait no they you you won on the 15th of May right yeah yeah my birthday so I was four look at that oh look at those pictures you and your girlfriend right look at that oh that's so I love that well I actually forced her to be an Arsenal fan so yeah well have right yeah she was not team obviously I mean the only team biggest team in London so um there is another picture that I would love to show you as well I'm sure you've obviously seen loads of footage of yourself when you are diving in motion with Tom Dy there but look guys look at that have you seen many still images of yourself like in that moment I mean they're not that flattering are they I don't look I mean I'm sure you look better in your football images there's some there's some bad ones there's some fun faces yeah I mean all of mine are bad if that makes you feel better but to capture that that moment is it's special yeah at least we were in syn yeah thing there you go and I mean didn't do too badly either did you um what is next for you what are you doing right now are you having a bit of down time at the moment having having a bit of break obviously like the next Lim is four years away so long so bit of a long break because I don't want to burn out before La so yeah long break and then I'm not sure when I'll head back to it but at some point yeah yeah and before we let you go and chill out before kickoff how are you feeling about today I know you're excited but thought feelings Brighton good side very good side I mean obviously they played well the last two games but no I feel confident I think I think we'll get a result I TR have faith in the boys you know yeah yeah always you got going confident otherwise what's the point absolutely want to give us a score prediction we just had kle Jenkins who went with 3-0 quite you know keeping another clean sheet yeah my best friend said 3-0 as well I I I was going to say I think another 2-n just keep it every game of the season 2-0 look at that would say that that would be insane consistency thank you so much we are going to let you go and have a lovely time before kickoff where hopefully we will see a two-nil win I would take that right please give it up one more time for the incredible Noah William thank you so much a Olympic hero if only I were that talented you kind of know how it feels to actually be good at something just well yeah I know but you know feel like a kid seen their medals you know same I watched it for like two weeks and then suddenly you got someone with the medals I'm like let how heavy they are yeah they are yeah I know right okay Noah great stuff love him and I love that yeah we could get him here and make that happen and it's so cool isn't it when you speak to someone like that who has just had an incredible few weeks past month achieved so much but it means so much to him to be here at Emirates like kind of working with his Club yeah it's crazy it's crazy how passionate you see fans are because obviously for me who played for the club for many years you just end up taking it a bit for granted I rather have these two medals that just come and watch or get a season ticket you know what I mean but he's like oh no I give them away for anything to do with Arsenal which is is is yeah it's brilliant to see passion we love to see it and you know what we also love to see that win against Aston Villa that was good wasn't it we enjoyed that I think we can have a look at the highlights from that game in a moment um jez talk to me I mean an important win and I know that might sound funny because we're only what that was our second game of the season so it does feel a bit mad to be like this was such a crucial win but I mean it was a maybe statement from Arsenal right because I'm not going to talk too much about our results against them last season but maybe that as a player and you can tell me a bit about this maybe that is kind of in your head if you know that this club is maybe a bit of a bogey side for us last season there's kind of a lot riding on this game wasn't there 100% I think everybody there's no one there's no one that actually were extra confident and for yeah we're just going to go there and and win knowing that we've lost twice against them last season so it was it was a big game the way they play as well you know with wry who knows how to play against us um and then when you look at the game and you see them two chances missed by Watkins you started thinking God are we going to you know are we going to end up losing that game and then we just stay in the game at every time and then obviously a bit of magic from TR out first and then after it was it was just taking control of the game and finishing it off but they big games you know Aston Villa might not be the most prestigious club that we've you know we're going to play against because we always think about man city but these these three points and that Clin and another 2-0 is just huge it's massive absolutely and and I get what you mean there saying you know they're not a a Manchester City but come on look at what they did last season right like they are a force to be reckoned with right now we and we've seen firsthand what they can do you know the way they played and and that game in particular but the way they've played last season there's not many team that going to go there and get three points that second goal second goal yeah that was nice passing um yeah no so I think he'll be a tough gr to to go even for you know top club like Man City they'll get there and the the way V played on a different day they could have beat us if they scored that first goal yeah absolutely or that second yeah the first goal when ryers made that incredible save that would have been a different completely different game and we should probably talk about the man we just saw on screen Leandro trossard I mean his celebration it was so cool and so chilled wasn't it I would be going absolutely wild but he's so important and we chatted a bit about the lineup earlier on in jez you've probably seen team news by now but trossard is starting so I kind of want to get your thoughts on that because that's a difficult decision for Mikel Etta to make isn't it between Gabby and trossard it is it is a different and and that's why you end up making this of key moment and that was a key moment he came out of the bench and he let's be honest gave us them three points gave us the win with that ridiculous finish again so calm and as you just mentioned the celebration that is just a little bit of Anger of being on the bench he's obviously not happy and a lot of players will come on and just be a little bit I'm didn't stop not happy but now he come on he does his job to show Mel again you see every time you stick me on the pitch I will deliver and fair play fair play to Mikel to give him the the start today as well I think he deserve it and I think I mean maybe we'll come to you guys as well and get your thoughts on that but I think that's a really good point jez is that you know I suppose if you're M meletta trad's put in such a good performance he's like he's giving you every reason to give him a start but it must be tough for Mikel when you've got a player who does so well Off the Bench a no player I'm sure I me wants to be that guy or that girl that is almost like the impact sub But It's Tricky when he does deliver so well when he comes off the bench to I suppose change that up but it's fair that he's been given the chance today I think he's Fair though because you you know there's so much you can take as a player of being on the bench at some point you've got to be rewarded for for what you do when you come on and you know I know every time he comes on he scores or he assist or he deliver he creates something but he does it even when he start so I don't think you know I don't think we should just think oh yeah every time he comes on you know brilliant will just stick him on the bench because at some point his patience just going to run out and just think listen I've I've got to move on to go and play regular football and start in a team so I think he's fair and and with Sterling arriving there's going to be more people coming in but that that's all good pressure for players because when you know that you know in a starting 11 every week suddenly you've got up your game you've got play better you've got train better to to show the manager that you know I'm ready I want to start I'll give anything yeah and that's exactly the sort of competition right that we have been wanting to see for years in this Arsenal side and you're right it it probably Spurs all of them on to do even better and another great achievement from that game by the way was Bayo saaka becoming the third youngest player in premier league history to reach 100 wins I mean another great achievement everyone's fa in the my a rewards box it's like oh yeah we thought he couldn't do any more and then he just does something else and and makes another ridiculous stat I mean jez what a what a star boy he is for us eh do you know the hardest thing in in football at the top level is just to be consistent yeah and to keep doing it because you know we all have one fantastic game two and then you'll disappear for three four games and then you do another great one how many players have done that the top of the top are doing it every single game they don't miss out on anything and that's why you see them numbers because since he's going the team he hasn't had any you know any bad moment any one or two months when he's not really at his stop he's always even when he's not at the top of his game he's still good enough do you know what I mean and and that's why then only few players could just dream of being in that category he's the world class player and I mean guys he is world class isn't he beo saaka like I I don't even think that's me being biased as an arsenal supporter he is a world class player now surely right he's he's that good that I've CED him in my FPL this week I love it when people come in here and we've already had it a couple of times now talking about FPL teams because it's so important to everyone isn't it but yeah I'm not surprised yeah no Saka he's so good um and it's come to a point where we kind of we've never really seen the reason to drop him at all because he just keeps delivering um week on week um I think Sterling coming in provides um competition as well like um because we have Martinelli and tret on the left hand side and we don't really have that kind of person to push sacka at at the moment and that but Sterling coming in because he can play on the right as well I know Martinelli and trossard have done it before um but I think it it will we will also be able to rotate sacka as well if needed so we don't like Tire him out for the season and hopefully that pushes us for the title absolutely and that's a really important point to make and I think we will uh well we're going to have to talk about Raheem Sterling and some of our latest additions to the squad in a bit I do just want to have a little look though but you know we've got to talk about David reyer in that Villa game what a performance from him as well and hopefully we can have a look at that epic save that he made again because I just want to see I've seen it like seven times but here we go it was so good oh the reflexes guys look slowmo version JZ it's it's how quick how quick he gets back up like is is just incredible it's just go up so quickly listen to be fair as a next forward I think Walkins should do better as well he should put it more in an angle but it goes so quick sometimes you just you just get your head on it but the save is at that time in the game if he doesn't make that save we lose the game because that's one n and I don't think we get back in it after so this that's another you know we've got TR hard that gave us but I think R has got you know's got as much credit as well does anyone think that they would actually be get be able to get off the floor as quickly as Z rer no no one backs himself everyone's like no absolutely not jez no I used to really not anymore no you think you could have done it that quick yeah when I was 20 probably I not save just get up I'm not saying saving it no I'm not buying it um we might also be able to look at I mean we've all witnessed some other incredible saves from Arsenal Keepers across the years I can think of one from David Sen where he literally got I love that everyone in here is nodding I'm like we're thinking of the same one because I'm sure he would have made some absolute worldy saves in his time here but there's one where it was like fingertips fingertips right on the line oh I think we can see it now oh look at that and the hair guys the look look closely here literally fingertips on the line that is outrageous you've got a huge hands for this set yeah you do let's be honest did you see how we went and caught that one you got our fingers that that long yeah massive hands but also like strong fingers right and a a Yen Layman save that I can think of as well that like Yen zon what a character chz I love I love that reaction just yeah he will create an argument out of nothing y he just is's just yeah but he's yeah top guider absolutely amazing on that group chat by the way he comes up with some funny things we've got off sometimes cuz we think where when where did that come from oh I feel like here everyone watching at home is going to be like no spill the tea now live from M5 Jaz tell us he is um an incredible guy but yeah what a character he was a great goalkeeper as well but you know goalkeeper sometimes people think they're bit selfish because they're on their own but Yen was well involved in every discussion even at the other side of the pitch he had his word to say he wanted to be involved he was a strong leader and a strong part of the of the team yeah yeah okay so that was an incredible win obviously against Aston Villa and we're going to carry on the Celebrations by giving one of you a chance to win one of the third kit shirts so if you want to be in with a chance of winning if you are watching on arsenal.com you can scroll down and enter from below the video player or you can scan this fancy QR code on the screen right now all you've got to do is tell us who scored our first goal of the 20242 Premier League season make sure you are quick as entries will close at kickoff so you don't have too long to get your answers in jez do you know the answer to that don't say it ruin it but I saw the guys is just looking at their time haven't got time to to scan and get involved um cool uh let's yeah yeah I mean they there is time what's the time you've got 18 minutes to be quick everyone's quick on their phones these days right um of course the transfer window has slammed shut and we've spoken about one of the new signings Raheem Sterling a bit already um Mel also signed Mikel we've also got Netto of course that has come in on loan good signing jez I mean I'm like who do who do we start with I I don't know about you guys but last night I was just like wildly refreshing everything on social media like is this going to happen is a rahee and it happened and I for one am really excited about that and also obviously Mar you know great signing we know that he has picked up an injury unfortunately um jez talk to me what what have you made of the latest additions to the squad brilliant really really happy I think uh you know players that come in Sterling was a bit of a surprise even if we heard Mikel spoke about him last week in his press conference and saying how much he loves him and got great relationship so that was kind of a bit of a bit of a sign that you know if there was a possibility would definitely go and and grab it um yeah I think he's great audition you know great audition because I think he's his goal point to prove with the way Chelsea treated him and and he's a winner he's won trophies he's got experience he's still young people thinks he's like over 30 but he's not he's still you know he's still in his late 20s and uh and there's so much to to come from him and the fact that he didn't get picked as well for England that would be another point to prove he wants to get back to his stop and I'm sure you know Arsenal is the the club for him absolutely yeah I'm excited about this signing Jaz I think we're going to see some good stuff and I just trust in Mikel and edu as well right I I believe in what they're doing all right at Arsenal we've always been proud of our role at the Forefront of equality in English football and this week we were privileged to be at the launch of Black Arsenal a new book exploring our connection with black British identity and culture and Fry was at the launch and here he is telling us all about it [Music] what's going on gooners we are here at Emirates for a very special event we're here at the launch of the book Black Arsenal which celebrates everything Arsenal and black culture written by Clive Noona and Matthew h um for me what black ha and Arsenal actually means to me if I be honest it's like the reason I support arsenal when you came to Arsenal hold on you know I couldn't really work it out why but I thought this is a place where I belong but even in the women's side Rachel Yankee was one of the first coaches that I had contact with and coached me and that was like mindblowing I was like she's an Arsenal player she's an England player um you know and and she just she I could see myself in her you know it's amazing I mean um I had the idea like 10 years ago about Black Culture black identity in Arsenal I never once thought it will end up being what it is now so to see the club invest in the idea to host this to see other black people recognize it as well that's enough for me so I'm pleased that you're pleased that everyone else is pleased as well but um it's an amazing amazing project I'm just so thankful to everyone who contributed you know it's a good book when it's got yours Julian there just with sacka but you go what this is what Ian R means to so many people and it's it's that accent it's that swag it's all of those things you're just like yeah that is me I'm local like you got no choice you know I literally grew up over there on Liverpool Road like this is this is where I'm from this is my local Club but it's more than just 11 men running around 11 women running around it's more than that it's a community we all belong to it's an identity we all share and have to have that documented in a hardback addition it just means a lot to all of us it's all done here at the Black Arsenal event and I've had such a great time there been Vibes there's been profound words on stage and everyone has had a great time now listen the book is out now so if you do want to have a great read make sure you pick one up incredible stuff there and you know what what I'm hearing that fry is actually pitchside right now with a very special guest frie what's going on going on guys I'm here with POI radical how you doing my telling me Mi I'm good I'm good I'm good I'm good I'm good it's so great when you're a fan of someone and you find out that they're auna just like me what's your story why youa okay I'm I'm a Goa by Family decree my brother is the biggest Arsenal fan he's Arsenal till he dies and I remember when I was about 10 years old he took me to my first game so the last time I came to watch a game it was at hyb yeah what was your first game it was Arsenal versus Man City oh and we didn't win and it was an emotional time I know it was an emotional time but this is what I mean being a fan from when it hurt to be an Arsenal fan good times and then now it's my first time in the Emirates we're here on the pitch I'm I'm gassed to be here I think we're going to I think we're going to do it today is there any like players when you's growing up that you look to like you know those they are also the reason why we always got to mention Uncle Ian every time every time man I've had the pleasure of meeting him a couple times and he's just a well of knowledge and his passion for the sport you can't beat it man yeah I love that listen of course we got the current Squad here as well is anyone in the current Squad that you're excited to see live today you know what I I'm sure everybody says the same name but they say it for a reason Saka I need a hat to you I need a hatti to yeah hopefully hope I need a thing is he's looking good in the warm up so hopefully he do the business um you said that you're into I remember you were talking you said you're into your fashion what you been thinking about the kits you know what I like leam smashed it laam has been a a brand that I've followed for quite some time and seeing the the connectivity especially growing up Arsenal was where all the black players were so to see that embraced in the kick now especially is like you can't beat him you can't be it listen like I was introduced with you with first your what chew water oh man listen been bring six songs after when is the new music coming BR I'm working on it album's coming very very soon um soon as I get out of here I might go back to the studio we'll see love that listen it's been great talking to you mate we're going to throw back to the studio and let's get the free points let's go oh I love the energy there pitch side great stuff thank you so much FY okay on the show we always have a question of the day so we asked our players who would make the best manager who would be the best manager maybe maybe Maring the way he plays the way he understands football as well how professional he is I probably say just because of the experience you know what is one Geor he's got a lot of experience in the game he's played in so many different clubs a lot of the times when I have conversations with him he's always like telling me in detail about certain games and he's a big leader around the group I feel like he would know how to manage a team Dynamic be able to help players use all of his experience who would be the best manager and why I go georgino clever footballer um I'll say my God because of his leadership skills and obviously his captain as well I'll probably go for Declan rice I think he's got a great football intelligence and I think he would make a good manager I probably say he's in jko just a clever footballer and he knows what you're doing on the pitch 1 million per is I guess it's between geino and and me so uh I don't know who will be better the time will show why cuz I don't know like me I I love football so much and I think it's very interesting job to to do after um your football career as a player so stressful so tough but interesting at the same time so I would love to stay in football as long as I can so then let's see what going to happen and why jinho is because he's such a clever guy player as well so on and off the pitch he's so intelligent and um you know the things which he's saying about football like the details as well so you need to know him quite well you know like so close to understand what I'm saying so I think georgino definitely he's very intelligent he's got loads of lot of brains and he would be he's a good leader yeah I think georia for sure very very clever player his leader on the pitch I think he's got the characteristics of the manager always good to hear from our players jez some interesting thoughts there who do you think would make the best manager uh I would say Martino God for me yeah it's just clever calm composed and he's got that vision of football that I like so yeah I'll go for Mar with the God yeah I agree or maybe georgino I reckon he'd be really good but we want to hear from our supporters and hear what they think of our question of the day so fry is out and about with them the current Squad who do you think will make a great manager manager oh probably Ard Ard Ard Ard who do you think Ard yeah Ard everyone saying odard today who do you think bestard yorie in the middle of the park maybe he could be a manager he played well don't he yeah yeah that's a good anyone that reads a game well is it really why' you think because I was once told fast players don't make good managers oh that's a great Insight I never who told you that oh years a man olding man um I think CBA CBA why do you think that he's like quite a calm player and like tells the squad what to do oh that's good I like that I love to hear that what about you sir who do you think I think I agree with deam rest I think C midfielders make the best managers they understand the game well I mean he said as well he said Georgie so Georgie yeah yeah yeah good Shout good sh good might good caring influence probably would say rice yeah we've had a lot of rice to be honest what about you% rice right what kind of um what kind of attire do you think you'll wear do you come with a track Su in a suit I swear to God in a suit is our bad boy is coming in a SE I said that free piecee everyone's going to say J but I think with me I'm I'm going to say slightly underrated but Tommy yasu maybe oh his mentality he's a bit he's a bit more on the lowkey side so he something in his brain is something he's always planning something he OD God o why CU I think artetta sees a lot in himself in odard he wouldn't have picked him as the captain if he didn't see a lot of himself in odard so I think as a leader as someone that's developing the squad I think odard would be a sick manager it's got to be odard a lot of people have said that why do you think odard just cuz he's got that Pizzaz he he's got the team behind him but then I also think sacka just cuz he's a little cutie what type of manager do you think he'll be though do you think he'll be like a arm around the shoulder or if things are all going wrong he's going to get on to the players what kind of manag you think you be got arm around the shoulder you know build out the positivity and that and I think OD with a tactical sense you know he's going to try to build that system and everything so I think o go with a sick manager I think georgino would make a great manager why is that I think he shows leadership he shows a climing presence he gives me the artet Vibes back in 2011 who knows what he's doing but doesn't need to say much because his attitude and his demeanor shows it s could be a good shot no one's actually everyone loves sacka like especially the England squad they always talk good things about him so I think sacka would be a good one as well what type of clothing do you think you wear you think sacko or odard will come in suits I think odard would be suits sack would be track suits oh okay all right big games like Champions League I think he'd be suited and booted what kind of team talk do you think he would give if if you know everything's up against him they're two- nil down what kind of team talk do you think he would be as we know he's Italian he's going to give that Italian flare mixed with the you know the pep drama in there as well I think he'll be a passionate one yeah because of going to give us an example oh he said maybe players come on you must believe that's that's decent that's good I think it was Spanish but good vibes from everyone here Emir Stadium right it is almost time for kickoff you can see the players are in the tunnel guys we feeling confident yes just confident yeah another two nil for me another one yeah third one on the on the TR we'll take a clean sheet if you are watching us on YouTube then make sure you head over to arsenal.com or the app we will be back at halim but for now we will leave you in the very capable hands of Dan robach and Adrien Clark many thanks to Nicole many thanks to Jeremy and to everyone live from N5 it is a lunch time kickoff and an early top of the table Clash there's two teams with 100% winning records me in North London welcome along to wem stadium for Arsenal versus Brighton the Gunners aiming for a third straight win from the start of a new season for the fourth time in Arsenal's premier league history and the second occasion under Mikel artetta stewardship Fabian Herz and the seagull have also impressed in the opening weeks and as we know also have a play to onew record in the top flight they also defeated Crawley town in the League Cup in midweek and given Bryan have won three of their seven Premier League away games against Arsenal nothing can be taken for granted today Adrian interesting tests today I thought that over the course of the summer Brighton might be one to fade might be one that would be looking to maintain their top flight status rather than looking at topping the table but they've started really well today they have started well and and Fabian hler has made a terrific early impression two wins two very impressive wins as well playing a brand of attacking football lots of pressing lots of um energy Brighton and HOV albian have run further than anybody else in the Premier League across the first two match days they are super fit
