Well, tonight, there is growing frustration among Memphis Shelby County school parents after today's dismissal of students due to the weather while countless school districts across the mid south canceled early because of the incoming uh weather from Francine MS ES only sent out its alert shortly after 11 o'clock this morning on social media ABC 24 Scott Mattis, uh talk with one parent who claims she was not contacted by the school district at all about the cancellation of classes. Uh Scott, what did this mom have to say? I imagine she was not pleased, not pleased at all. And I can imagine she is probably not the only one. Good evening to you, Richard. Now, Charlie Hall of course is her name and she says, well, she dropped her daughter off at a mail walker middle school in Memphis this morning and says she had absolutely no idea school would be released only a few hours later. Now tonight, she tells me she's livid because not only did her daughter have to stand outside after school was dismissed, she claims no one called her to tell her they didn't send her a text message. They didn't send her an email guess who called. Well, her daughter called herself, take a look at some of this video. Uh This is video of outside of a Memphis and Shelby County school. Now the city of Memphis did its part by attempting to clear out the drainage grates across the city ahead of post storm Francine. However, as you can see some areas still had flooding while the forecast has shown today's wind gust. Since to get this, this past Monday, the school district somehow managed to make a last minute call to release students. Now, MS CS posted to Facebook and Twitter about early releases around 11 o'clock this morning. Now, Hale tells me she was never contacted by the district or her daughter's school. The only person she received a call from her daughter. Y'all have all three people including every emergency number to let me know that they was gonna release. Why didn't nobody get a phone call or email? I'm always knowing when something happened because all I have to do is look at my watch and see if somebody called or somebody email or somebody text nothing. All right. Now, I reached out of course to the Memphis Shelby County school district to see if there was any kind of miscommunication with their communication efforts to alert parents that school would be letting out early as of six o'clock on Thursday. I still have not heard back. Richard
