Morgan Stickney the 24-year-old walking um on the pool deck one day at morning practice and my foot started hurting I didn't really think twice about it but we ended up going to the doctor after a few weeks of it not getting resolved we ended up noticing that one of my bones was fractured we did different things to try to fix it it would never heal I eventually got a major infection in my leg and we had no other choice but to amputate it Morgan started training for the Paralympics until she was hit with another drowning blow everything kind of came crashing down again I was in the cold tub recovering and I hopped three steps and my right foot just completely shattered they determined that I have an extremely rare genetic vascular disease and so um that was really hard to swallow but then it was even more hard um when there was nothing that they could do but amputate my remaining life seeing her determination worldclass coach John Payne was on board to coach sticky this was my first time with an athlete of that caliber um I had worked with worldclass swimmers for many many years uh but uh never had the challenge of a para aete the par Olympics at Tokyo Japan is just days away Morgan Stickney will be representing USA but she hasn't forgotten all of those people who motivated her to be in this very moment my parents and my medical team were absolutely amazing and honestly like I could never say thank you enough to those people because I wouldn't be here without them Morgan stickney's double ant Journey hasn't stopped her goal to win the gold medal with constant training and treatment to get her prepared Morgan stick is just days away from the Tokyo param to stroke for Co
