when you looked at um as much as you wanted to look at from Wednesday's game you had talked about defense I'm just wondering after a second look at film and stuff how much of the defense you felt was physical mistakes how much was mental effort correctable kinds of um there was a lot there's about four or five just in the first two minutes um some of it is a little bit of everything some communication breakdowns uh some Scouting Report breakdowns some of our basee defense just no NOS that we're not supposed to do defensively and we broke the rules and we got smacked um so we went back you know looked at it tried to make it as clean and clear as possible and hopefully uh we'll get a better result tonight but um you know they shot the ball extremely well even on Long twos which you know mathematically you're you're supposed to shooting a certain percent they made them um so we'll see we'll see I'm curious to see how we come out for getting the ball into Asia Wilson and obviously her numbers for her were lower than normal what did you see after looking at that tape for her was it I mean they're sending three or four people I mean three at minimum so uh it it it tells you the kind of respect Cheryl has uh for Asia um and for us it's just about getting her in space um where they maybe can't load up as much um you know even even when we put her on the sideline though uh there were still three people so um I think one of the one of the keys for for us and getting her loose a little bit is a playing out of transition which means we need to get stops so that we're playing out of our defense and then the other thing is she just has to the teammates have to step up and hit shots and you know as a coach there's certain things you're willing to live with even if you're double triple teaming Asia if they give up layups on the backside they're not chery's not gonna be happy so you know jumpers threes that's probably what they're looking to live with um but we if we can penetrate uh penetrate and and kind of hurt them at The Rim off of those doubles and triple teams that feels different as a coach I know it does for me anyways since you've you know been a part of this game for so long I wanted to ask just because they're going to be honor tonight about s andaj maybe any you have going up against them or their kind of impact too many of them probably mostly bad h no um I I got to play and be Simone's teammate actually um in Russia and uh she is a topnotch teammate um you know Not only was she incredibly skilled obviously but uh you know players like her Cappy who really like the mid-range just I mean they just didn't miss and so um you know I think they've each kind of carved their own little niche Taj man she goes all the way back to the Orlando uh Miracle days um so she's been around the game a long time um really smart really smart player um beat you with her mind you know and we in the W kind of saw her in her latter years uh you know had the W been around when she was in her prime and really young I I think it could have been um very interesting she might have had a few more Rings added to her collection but um super smart team player uh you know I remember her at Connecticut too Like You Know She's Crafty for a post player good passer good footwork great touch around the basket I mean you know when they loaded up here in Minnesota somewhat to you know how my team's loaded up now um they just really did some special things and it's it's really hard to to win and keep winning and keep winning and and that team um I just think it's really fitting that you honor all those those women because um they really laid the groundwork um and gave Minnesota something to be proud of that's for sure anything else anybody uh from Zoom have any questions seeing no hands oh wait Nikas yeah Nikas I knew you'd come through boying through um I got to talk to Kayla McBride a little bit during Allstar Weekend and she mentioned as a rookie that some of the best advice she got was from you and in regards to her screening that the harder you know the better the screen more open you'll be uh do you remember giving her that nugget and in general what have you enjoyed most about her growth as a player yeah I mean it's been you know I had her when she was a baby uh she's been around the league for a while now um yeah I remember talking to her I also remember her um working on that that floater with her and now she's killing my team with it so not too happy about that but um you know she was just a really fun teammate uh eager really eager to learn like she always wanted to learn that's what I remember about her she she was somebody that watched asked questions and um somebody who was just kind of a a sponge so it's not surprising that she's had the career that she's had um she's having a a a great year this year shooting the crap out of the ball um really with her and fee I mean that those are their that's who it runs through um for this team and so uh it's just been you know she's reached out over the years you know when I was on the men's side she'd Reach Out occasionally um with some frustration so I always just Tred to give her the best advice possible um and whatever she needed I wanted I wanted to help her out with so um but yeah screening she's she's mastered that and she's mastered the floater now so now they're my problems and not hers anymore thank you yeah all right thanks
