hello everyone and welcome you can sense it through the pageantry the tradition the electricity that permeates this place as we get set for a terrific game the kickoff team out there getting set and he takes this from inside the five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 all right guys here's our first look at this offense today and here's the man they rally around and he has earned that type of respect David you dang right you earn it by doing it and he's done it at such a high level everyone believes in this young man in Palmer there's a reason why you're right David he's been in the big moments and he's won the big games this guy delivers when the game is on the line let me tell you this senior quarterback can flat fit it in a tight window and there was no no question in that scenario that's where the quarterback was going he knew he had his receiver in a matchup that he liked running a route where he would find himself opening nice job between those two power football with the Run you'll take this every time five yards on the first down play I like it just frustrate the defense get that five to six yards make them onor the Run make them know that you're willing to run the football ball and run it effectively halfway there on first down it's second and five the give to the back and they'll stop him just short of the first down just inches away from moving I know that's not a huge game those run plays add up they make you tackle the back every single play physically you have to get some guy on the ground it takes its toll throughout a fourth quarter game they'll throw on Third and short finds his man in the middle a quick tackle made but he's got plenty for the first down third and short and I guess the only thing they really took out of play in the shotgun was the quarterback sneak yeah and that's kind of what I like to do Reese I mean third and inches I I want to run the quarterback sneak run the football but this team fully comfortable throwing the football and you see why easy pitch easy catch first [Applause] down hand off to the lone back and the runner is down and so is a flag holding holding they say you could call holding on every play and they did on that one here's the snap itching to fire downfield just a short pass to the tight end didn't pick up a lot there moved it Forward just a few a nice job by the defense there tackling the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game in a lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to do on second down looking to throw just a little off incomplete [Music] INE here they come facing third and long from the 40 he's looking downfield to throw he lets it Fly oh he dropped it and what a missed opportunity early in this one ball game this is a point where you just got to be able to focus the critical down and distances in this game like that third down right there when it's a good throw you got to make the catch you got to be able to make that play they bring the punter onto the field [Music] [Applause] now couldn't get away from that cover team and they've got him down at the 23 as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job of it yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this throwing the comeback looks like such a simple throw but the timing is so important and as a quarterback man this is all about trusting your guy you know exactly where he's going to sit it down you anticipate it you throw it you know he's going to come back and make that play for him they'll rip off eight on that play it's second and two I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points eight- yd pickup on first down leaves them with second and [Applause] short they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust he's brought down but there's a flag on the play let's see if it stands holding holding penalties the ultimate Drive killer we'll see if it cost this offense here looking to pass on second down he's got his man he's close to the first down but they're going to Mark him just a little short great job by the offense being patient understanding when they're in zone coverage I got to hit those Tight Windows make those precise passes to get those big plays now this defense could really use a stop on third down as the offense has had its way they'll try to get the first through the air quickly out to the tight end and how about that catch and run so dangerous this guy they pick up the first down on the drag route I know that seems like a simple route but it's actually a lot more complex than what it looks like because that route changes based on whether it's man or Zone if it's man coverage he's flying across the field if it's Zone he's got to sit down over the ball in a soft spot giving his quarterback a place to go with it nice job of those guys being on the same page there and after the tackle we are headed to the end of the first [Applause] quarter second down defense has dominated the early part of this game and the stats point that out [Music] emphatically well based on that we can hope to see a little more offensive explosion here in the second quarter as we get ready to get things started motion trying to get the defense to show its hand into the double coverage and they made him pay it's intercepted and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception and that's just excellent cover man cover one nowhere to throw the football look at everybody playing man across the board and you still got the safety in the middle of the field nobody open and if I'm the QB man I don't need to force it I I don't force it in tight Windows if it's not there he throws it unfortunately gets the reception bad decision by the QB there they've got the Big Fellas out there a three tight end look on First and [Applause] 10 leaves it with the back they pick up half of it it'll be second and five tack hey five to six yards a pop I don't know if you guys are really good at Mat but that usually equals a first down every couple carries so don't forget about the Run game keep want us to count that rock halfway there on first down it's second and five the give to the back wrestled down at the 43 after getting five I love when players understand situations and they understand where the first down marker is and they understand where I got to get to a lot of people you'll see run north south and try to bounce out wide and make big plays sometimes it's not about making big plays sometimes it's about getting that first down to make sure I get an extra set of downs instead of trying to make those big touchdown LS they'll give it to the back fakes his man out and he runs through one tackle and picks up a few this running back just doesn't go down easy it's just difficult for defenses to get him on the ground not overly huge but if I'm an offensive coordinator I'm going to continue to find ways to feature him and just you know what let his talent do the rest that kind of pick up on first down and you can take a shot here on second and short they go to the ground and they'll bring him down but not before he picks up the first down you wonder now on offense have they found something in the Run game finally it's been tough for them to get the Run game going but they picked up a nice gain on that last one let's see if they go back to it this offense will snap it from the 42 on First and 10 touch pass on the Jet Sweep you'll take this every time five yards on the first down play well and on these little push passes timing is so important you're trying to snap it right as he's getting a full head of steam when he gets the ball he's hitting the outside and David it puts the defense in such a difficult spot you immediately have to be rotating when you see that motion so everybody's got to communicate and kind of bump over that's why offenses love to run it just it makes the defense communicate and see if you can just get him out the spot hey man if you're going to force Inc compications when the QB's thrown the tight end you better be physical nice job with the hit forcing that incompletion we'll see if they go back to the air after the incompletion it's third and [Music] five he'll try to pop the draw just what they' hoped for on third down as they've got a first at the 32 and they just kind of sneak that one in there as a defensive guy third and five plus I'm thinking pass they were thinking pass Palmer and they slipped the run in and it's so nice then to have this guy at running back to right because you could throw it to him on third down or hand it off and he's got the vision and the athleticism to go pick up that first keep the drive going find his tight end he's brought down but there's a flag on the field let's see which way that's going to go holding off amazing how many times an offensive holding penalty will stall a drive we'll see if the offense can overcome it we'll take a quick break as we have reached the final two minutes of the first half they're just making things harder now it's first and 20 they'll go to the air unloads to the right and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball my job is to make sure that ball comes loose and I got to go through that guy use my shoulder pad drive my feet and really really be physical cuz if he bobbles it at all or as soon as his hand gets to the ball you can tell the difference when that body jerks forward and that ball starts to come loose and pop out the short hand it's Williamson he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit shorter than first down trout nice job to get the ball out of the hands quickly wide receiver quarterback nice job being on the same page nice completion nice catch ni play of the drive coming up but this one will be tough third and long looking downfield and he needs a bunch and they fail to hook up on third down nice job by the defense there mixing up their look they third and long in field goal range they go Zone coverage so everybody on the back end has the eye on the quarterback and they're able to break on the ball for position now on fourth down they'll settle for a field goal try this is going to have to be Unleashed from 54 yds [Applause] out and the kicker delivers the three ball to finish off the drive and with that they break the seal on the scoring it's three nothing well that kid just showed off his hammer for a leg 50 plus and he did it with ease [Applause] they were able to get a field goal on the board and now they'll kick it [Applause] away and they thought about a return Then thought better of it they'll bring it out to the 25 and let's see what kind of ball plays this offense has ready they're going to throw it to start the drive grabbed over the middle it's Williamson that's about as close as you can get to that marker and it will be second and just a few breaths away from the first down and they'll come to the line with less than a yard to go looking to throw on second down fireing to the right complete they make the stop but this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down I tell you what that's great execution between QB and receiver they look like they could execute that throw in their sleep quarterback took his steps threw it on time great route by the receiver nice job securing the catch clock stops momentarily for the first down they'll hurry to the [Music] line looking to move it through the air The Freshman able to get home with the sack a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half big first down sack for the defense brings up second down he's looking to throw makes his connection knocked down for the tackle that was a really nice catch and an even better run after the grab and get the ball to your playmaker what's good about having him in the slot is he can go either direction you can get him matched up on somebody that's not as fast and you watch he can run away from those linebackers or safeties they'll hurry to the line here to try to get off that third down play he lets one fly deep and it's slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge gain if he could have held on love the effort on defense that time that looked like that was going to be a completion downfield but the physicality of the defender Jarred the ball loose and here comes the punt team first punt of the day and he'd love to lock him up close to their goal line he won't be able to return this one as it goes out of bounds all right guys so here's the offense back on the field again he's looking to throw it turns it Loose he's he's got it he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down and a really good job by the quarterback being very decisive he saw his matchup he went for it he attacked it got the positive game I would say he's going to find that guy a few more times today from the 47 yd line on First and 10 he's going to pass fires to the wide out got him downfield bounds into the endend zone for a touchdown quick strike touchdown comes out and jump starts the offense man we see this in college football so much explosiveness and Firepower and we get high scoring game after high scoring game it looks like we're on Pace for one of those right now [Music] ready to try the point after for the extra [Applause] point and with the extra point there now up by a touchdown and a field goal at 10 now last Drive didn't take long just two plays to get it in and they finished finished it with an explosive play in the passing game scoring from 47 yds out so here comes the kickoff after the touchdown and the last thing you need right before the half is to give up a big return here's the return from inside is 10 and the return man showing great vision to be able to find some space and put his team in much better field position he wants to throw the pass is incomplete lead and one second is left I love it I'm never of the mindset take a knee go to the half whatever man if I can try to find an opportunity to put some points on the board I'm going to try to do it I like the offense chucked it up but you know an incompletion who cares one more play before the teams head to the locker [Applause] rooms LS one deep down the right side he makes a catch he stepped out of bounds and after a huge play but hang on just a second defense might get bailed out here by a flag this defense happy with how that last play turned out Fable to climb the penalty as the end of the second quarter that means it's time to join Kevin and our halftime update thanks guys not a first half that saw a little bit of everything there in Charlotte and there is no better place to start this halftime than by reviewing how this wide out has been a onean Wrecking Crew the kid's been everywhere and I love how he's willing to go across the middle but that he also has the Jets to burn these DBS on the Deep ball if this defense wants to actually come back in this one they better hide his cleats and with that let's send it back to the guys inside Jerry Richardson Stadium just about set for the second half kickoff set to kick it away on the move from inside is five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 first down for this offense they'll run the RPO and Fire to the right he'll get it up to about the 32 yd line before he stopped and 'll be first down let running back there on the route the patience he showed really setting it up he got to the defender was able to put his foot in the ground get some separation catch it and turn up field for the First with a first down they'll snap it from the [Applause] 32 grabbed behind the line it's Williamson they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still with little ground covered pick up the first my old coach said you'll never go broke taking a profit take what's there take the positive yards and never complain line getting set on second down he's looking to throw using the quick game and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pick up love the location of the throw on that slant put it out in front of the receiver put it on his face mask so he can catch it and try to advance this offense hasn't found the end zone yet starting to move it's first and 10 keeping it on the ground with the single back shakes off the defender yeah this coaching staff they're getting this offensive line lathered up and into a rhythm now they're letting them drive off the ball on first down on these running plays and they're getting chunks of yardage [Applause] got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four out of the shotgun they go to the ground he's brought down but there's a flag on the field let's see what the call is holding up up we'll repeat the previous down but then this time the offense has 10 more yards it has to cover wants to throw on second down catch in the middle it's young after 20 he's got space and he'll take it into the end zone for a touchdown sometimes we ask coaches about halftime adjustments and they go blah blah blah blah blah and then sometimes they make some good ones sometimes that blah blah blah blah blah actually works but it's working now but it might be too a little too late but at least you got the party [Music] [Applause] started lining up for the p8 extra point and with the extra point the lead is cut to three it's 10 to7 a very efficient five playay scoring drive and they finish things off with a 44 yd touchdown pass kickoff team lining up to send this one away here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 they'll start this drive from the 18 yd Line running behind that left side big pick up before he goes out of bounds but there is a flag we'll have to see if it [Applause] stands that penalty moves the ball back 10 yds will replay the down offense getting set for first down here's the hand off navigates that massive bodies and gets four out to the 17 it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive plays positive yards hand the football off set up a good second down tried to pound it on first down now back to the line the playaction fake fires to the big F and he'll run across the sidelines after the good game [Applause] holding just an obvious holding call there and one that just kills an offense's [Applause] momentum he's going to pass on second down quick strike complete across the 25 he's got R and he was loose and in the open field and on his way A tremendous pick up on that one now I think this receiver Forte is his route running he's a guy that can line up all over the field but it's not just catching post routes and goes this guy can run shallows he can run Slants he can run the option routes and find soft spots in the defense this guy really has all the routes in his [Applause] toolbx one back in the back field and they'll give it to him knock down after getting six all the way out to the 34 yd line you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you pick up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the offense 6yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four he's looking to throw a strike downfield and they're getting it rolling with that play to the 42 yd line that big play a perfect example of w receivers relentlessly work on the release yeah work on that release work on their hands getting by the DB when I'm getting that press man and he's up in my face man that is a hard assignment if I don't really get my hands on the receiver and he wins off the line of scrimmage quarterback finds him sees man coverage makes a big play a solid pick up there before the defense is able to make the stop coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of effic efficiency on first down man you are doing just that as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter dialing up a second down pass play gets it out quickly [Music] one more period to go to see who can make the winning plays and come home with the victory now on First and 10 from the 27 he'll pull it on the read he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage yeah a great job by the defense holding the line of scrimmage playing downhill playing responsibility football making sure they shut down that option play second down coming [Applause] up trying play action looking down the middle and that's going to fall to the ground incomplete that was a physical match up there third down coming they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on Third and long trying to have a big completion here makes the grab and steps into the end zone for the touchdown these two guys they just shared a glance and they knew exactly exactly what to do David and how many times do we hear that that the quarterback talk about him after the game and go hey I just looked at him he knew what I saw I knew what he saw we're on the same page we've done this before that chemistry equals big plays [Music] they'll try to add another to their lead extra point and the extra point extends the lead to double figures at [Music] 10 about to KI it away after scoring the touchdown kick and he's going to bring it out of the end zone didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 they'll get this drive going from the 17 they'll start this drive with a pass fires into traffic it's picked off and he'll take this one home it's a t touchdown and that just might do man offense needed points needed points badly defense comes up with the big interception takes it all the way back just to pad their lead a little bit and make this game almost almost Out Of [Music] Reach lining up to tack one more onto that [Applause] lead and that extra point is a big one as they now have a thre possession 17-point lead in the [Music] fourth they're about to kick it away and the defense probably can't wait to get back out there after the pick six fielded In The End Zone it's Hardy knocked down right at the 25 and I guess he breaks even bringing it out of the end zone the offense set for a first down play looking to move it through the air got his man downfield they'll get it to the 48 no need to measure it to first down this is a receiver who's so dangerous once he has the football in his hand that's a simple slant pass but after he catches it he's able to work in the middle of the field finds the open green and get the first down ripped off a chunk on the opening play of this drive now it's first down from the [Music] [Applause] 48 he's looking to throw it grabbed in the middle it's young and just a short safe pass away they pick up a few this offense has their work cut out for him man because the coverage has been so tight and if you're not throwing to the sideline or you're not getting past the sticks this defense is going to tackle you inbounds like they just did on that last play and bleed the clock a lot of urgency for this [Applause] offense and I don't think they got it snap before the play clock ran out delay of game off offense that is a completely avoidable penalty the quarterback just went into brain lock and lost track of the play clock on second down they'll take to the air a little screen to the running back and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one guys out of the back field now it's not just run the ball downhill anymore you got to be veral I gotta be able to trust you in the pass game and I got to be able to throw you the football and you can do that right there I know you're going to catch it and I can depend on you third down coming up after the completion he'll just keep slinging it takes a hit as he fires and it's incomplete but the penalty flag has fallen in the holding Zone let's see what the call is they say you could call holding on every play well they did on that one third and long and he'll try to throw for it and the ball comes out what a disastrous play a defense all over that loose ball and now they're bringing it back don't just make a play make a play fumble recovery scoop and score for the touchdown and the defense comes with the blitz nice job get to the quarterback and don't just get there try to strip that football out they get the Q the ground the ball's out they scoop it up take it all the way back to the house for [Music] six they'll try to add another to their lead extra point and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further the scoop and score what a lift it can give to the defense not content to get the ball they wanted to do something with it and they did they're out there to kick it off the return team must rivet that ball to their rib cage can't afford another turnover fielded In The End Zone it's Hardy lowers those pads pull down at the 18 and the decision to bring it out of the end zone was not a good one a little bit backed up to start this drive from their own 18 yd line setting up the screen they make the stop but a good pick up there on first down I tell you what if you want to be overzealous if you want to be a Blitzer all the time I like running the screen right behind him did a great job throwing the screen almost broke this one for a long game but it just keeps the defense a little bit more honest if you want to start bringing a lot of pressure got the completion on the last play still some work to do on second down fires left and here's the third interception of the night looking for more room and he'll take this one all the way to the house into the end zone for a touchdown D you didn't think it could any worse right you thought this game's over as it is anyways offense still throwing the football still try to make plays and the defense just continues to pour it on gets the pick makes its way all the way way to [Music] the now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic extra [Applause] point and with the extra point the lead is even bigger [Music] they're lining up to kick it off after the pick six and that defense will come out feeling it and he'll just take a knee and this drive will start at the 25 first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning they're going to open this drive with a pass going to try to pop one on the screen he makes the stop but a nice pick up there on first down leaves him in second and [Applause] manageable he's looking to throw he got a hand in there knocks it away incomplete and this is just one of those days man where everything has gone wrong right like they just haven't been in a rhythm they haven't they haven't got it going and never built the momentum this is this is one of those days you learn from you try to grow from a lot of things that we're going to show in the film room that people aren't going to like but hopefully you can learn from it and do better next time looking to throw for it got it in the middle it's Williamson he'll have up for the first down and they stop him at the 45 well look that wasn't a touchdown that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way and converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback getting through his progression now a first down from the 45 yd line good timing on the quick out man listen the defense playing really conservative right you got the lead but here's what I'm trying to do I'm trying to get sacks I got to get to the quarterback like I got to make sure I'm getting him knocking him off the spot patting my stats by the way got a lot of sacks late in games and we had a big lead but that's okay that's what you're supposed to do keep competing defense trying to convert this second and short they keep attacking through the air he wants to go deep he's got it downfield for a huge game and he'll take it in for the touchdown it won't have much impact on the outcome of the game but there's a fabulous parting to consolation prize if you will nice pitch nice catch and listen maybe this helps next game right like we're trying to find the Rhythm find something that works find somebody to go to and this offense is struggling you're down by a thousand but I like that they continue to [Music] fight getting set for the point after is on for the extra [Applause] point bangs it through for an extra point they put together a five playay 75 yd drive and they finished it with with an explosive play in the passing game scoring from 47 yds out at this point a comeb back would take one of the biggest miracles in the history of the sport with they'll line up for the onside kick he's able to grab the football and the hands team gets the job done so guys we'll see this offense again they'll run it they want to take their time here they make the stop at there is a flag on the field we'll see what that's all about [Applause] holding holding penalties the ultimate Drive killer we'll see if it cost this offense here they'll try the run really nice stop there from this senior leader and the defense is still fighting they they haven't had the day that they dreamed of you know talking to the coaches coming to the game like they thought they had a good plan they'd be ready to attack and and and limit some of the damage this offense has done they haven't done it today though they got to go back to the drawing board figure some things out cuz this wasn't a great [Applause] day they'll go right back to the run and he didn't have a whole lot of operating room after the juk and he stopped for a short game and I'm a fan of this man run the football eat the clock we got the lead this offense has put together a nice day man like just balance Rhythm timing play calling everything is worked that's why they built this lead they've had a great day today [Music] [Music]
