ACCUWEATHER FORECAST IN A FEW MINUTES. BILL AND CHAD. ALL RIGHT. >> WE'LL SEE YOU THEN. LEE. THANK YOU. CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. THAT WAS THE PLEA EARLY THIS MORNING FROM A MAN WHO POLICE IN NEW JERSEY NOW SAY WAS LEAVING A HOUSE FIRE IN SOUTH BRUNSWICK THAT HE HAD STARTED. COPS SAY THE 50 YEAR OLD TORCHED THE HOME AFTER HE GOT INTO AN ARGUMENT WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND. SHE WAS INSIDE THE HOUSE ALONG WITH HER PARENTS. HE STARTED THE FIRE AND THEN WARNED HIS GIRLFRIEND TO GET OUT. NEW JERSEY REPORTER ANTHONY JOHNSON LIVE IN SOUTH BRUNSWICK WITH THE STORY. RJ REPORTER. >> YEAH, AND HIS GIRLFRIEND'S PARENTS HAVE NOW LOST THEIR HOME. >> IT'S PROBABLY TOTALLY DESTROYED. FIRE MARSHAL JUST LEAVING THE SCENE HERE. JUST A FEW MOMENTS AGO. HE ACTUALLY STARTED THE FIRE, BUT HAD BEEN IN TROUBLE EARLIER IN THE EVENING. POLICE HAD BEEN HERE AT THE SCENE. THE SUSPECT, 50 YEAR OLD, HAS ALREADY HAD A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT. REPORTER THE FLAMES WERE ROARING AS THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED ON THE SCENE HERE AT 155 OLD BEEKMAN ROAD EARLY THIS MORNING. THE BLAZE WAS APPARENTLY SET ON PURPOSE BY 50 YEAR OLD LEONARD JONES, WHO HAS A HISTORY OF ARRESTS. AND NEIGHBORS SAY HE'S ALSO BEEN A TROUBLED PERSON. >> I HAVE KIDS AND ALL. EVERYBODY'S CURSING ALL THE TIM. EVERYBODY'S FIGHTING. MY KIDS WANT TO CALL 911 ALL THE TIME, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? IT'S LIKE, IT'S JUST IT'S SUCH A. YEAH. IT'S JUST. YEAH. IT'S TERRIBLE. >> POLICE SAY JONES STARTED THE FIRE IN A SECOND FLOOR ROOM AFTER FIGHTING WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND, WHO LIVES IN THE HOUSE WITH HER PARENTS. AUTHORITIES HAVE BEEN CALLED HERE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, AND LAST NIGHT WAS NO DIFFERENT. >> WE WERE HERE TWO TIMES EARLIER, ONCE FOR A NOISE COMPLAINT AT ABOUT MIDNIGHT. THAT NOISE WAS ABATED AND THEN WE GOT A CALL ABOUT TEN MINUTES BEFORE THE FIRE SAYING THAT THERE WAS AN OUT OF CONTROL MALE AT THE RESIDENCE. THE OFFICERS THEN GET THE CALL THAT A FIRE HAD BROKEN OUT, SEEMED TO BE OUT OF CONTROL. OFFICERS RESPOND, AND BY THE TIME THEY GOT HERE, THE HOUSE WAS FULLY ENGULFED. >> AFTER SETTING THE ROOM ON FIRE, JONES TOLD THE FAMILY TO CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. HIS GIRLFRIEND RUSHED OVER TO A NEIGHBOR, ASKING THEM TO CALL 911. EVERYONE GOT OUT SAFELY BUT THE HOUSE IS GUTTED. NEIGHBORS SAY THEY KNEW SOMETHING WOULD HAPPEN ONE DAY BUT NEVER EXPECTED ANYTHING LIKE THIS. >> CALL THE COPS ALL THE TIME. HE DRAGGED HER IN THE WOODS. THEY LIVED IN A TENT. THEN THEY WERE HOMELESS FOR A LITTLE WHILE. THEY HAD TO CALL THE COPS. THEY WERE IN RIGHT IN MY WOODS. IN MY BACKYARD. THEY HAD TO ESCORT HIM OFF THE PROPERTY, YOU KNOW, LIKE, IT DOESN'T STOP. >> AND THOSE NEIGHBORS ARE NOW HOPING IT WILL STOP. BUT JONES HAS BEEN KNOWN TO COME OUT HERE AND START UP HIS MOTORCYCLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT IN REVIT AND THEN COME OUT HERE AND CUT THE LAWN AS EARLY AS 3:00 IN THE MORNING. HE'S NOW BEING HELD IN THE MIDDLESEX COUNTY JAIL. CHARGES
