foreign [Music] welcome to the power badminton World Championships 2022 here are some of the highlights from the semi-finals day inside the yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo and where we focus on the wheelchair course [Applause] [Music] wh two players could have impairment in one or both lower Limbs and minimal or no impairment to trunk function but still require the use of a wheelchair [Applause] two legends of parabamenton Chan ho Yuen and Kim jong-jun but better known within the sport as Danny Chan and JJ have been one and two seed in almost every event they've played since records go back the introduction of Japan's paralympic Champion daiki kajiwara recently has been the first player to ever unsettle these two greats but for today para badminton was once again treated to The Clash of the Titans in the wh2 semi-finals [Applause] foreign [Applause] was on top of the rallies in game one this trademark wrist action on overdrive as he took the lead oh [Music] yeah Chan leading the first half of game two 20 seconds but after the mid game interval it was JJ who turned the screw in the latter stages to hold on and to force a third game decider [Music] [Applause] awesome it was cat and mouse in game three before a string of six straight points for the Korean which earned himself a healthy lead [Applause] hey [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] the fights continued till the death and like so many matches before JJ clinched Victory and a place in the final [Applause] and that final will be a repeat of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics game final against the local boy daiki kajiwara [Applause] [Applause] this all European women's single semi-final in wh2 sees Switzerland's top-seeded ilaria wrangli taking on the experienced Turk ameen second it was all second in game one firing Drop shots that Renly was unable to retrieve and despite her best efforts the Swiss could not make up any ground on her opponent [Applause] foreign to dictate proceedings in game two and with this year's draw absent of China's Liu Tong and Zhu Ting Ting and Thailand's amni web patan second has a real chance of becoming world champion in the final if she can overcome the Peruvian Pilar jageri this is the first meeting between these two pairs in the wheelchair one and two men's double semi-final and a change up in the German lineup since the paralympic games with the experienced one Schneider now with new partner Rick Hellman facing the Koreans Jeong jaegun and yusu Young it was the German pair that got their noses in front in the opening game with extended periods of success yeah yeah [Applause] hey guys [Music] [Applause] some terrific shot making early in the second allowed the Koreans to Edge ahead at the break [Applause] wow today the Germans didn't give up hope of clinching a straight games win and fought back you and John held their nerve and took the second to level the match foreign game three was a closely fought affair with very little in it all the way to the mid game interval by the end of the game both players had taken the lead and were fought back to even score 11 times including 19 or all the way to 22 or [Applause] the final push the Germans made it through after one hour and 20 minutes of enthralling action concealed their place in the world championships final [Applause] [Laughter]
