Emma did you feel like you found it difficult to find your game tonight I think a little bit in the first set I was maybe a bit slow starting but I think I got into the match and um there was some pretty good quality in sets two and three so um yeah I did get into it what did you feel was the difference between the final set the difference between you um I think she served very well I think she hit the spots Great And even if her serves you know weren't like the pest they were very tight to the lines and um that set her up well for ball three and uh I think yeah I just couldn't hold that game at two all but um I think she played really well credit to her she she's a slam Champion for a reason and uh I think you know some of that level tennis came out tonight obviously um haven't played competitively now since since Washington did how how how did you feel coming in without with with that kind of lack of matches is that is that something that you might look to change in the future come in with play play play a bit more regularly before beforehand yeah I would have preferred to probably play you know a little bit more before coming into the US Open um you know I know when I have a lot of matches just like every player you feel you feel really good you feel like everything's automatic so yeah I think uh I can learn from it and you know man manage my schedule slightly differently maybe just to clarify when you decided like to go back to London instead of hang around for C qualities or whatever else was that your decision or was that an overall team decision uh no I would say it wasn't me it was more of like a collective you know call and yeah that's what happened we can't really change it you understand we sound really down right now is that more so than FS earlier in the season how are you feeling some of how you're feeling now yeah I feel you know I feel down like I feel I [Music] feel sad um you know obviously this is a tournament I really want to do well so it's obviously obviously a very tough first round match on paper so what do you take from your performance today going forward for the next couple months yeah I think uh I did really well to get myself back in the match I think after the first set I was you know outplayed completely um and I think I did well to equal it and in the third set you know it was on serve until to all it was pretty high level tennis and I think you know certain parts of my game like dealing with dealing with her speed of shot dealing with her Pace uh her returns for my ball three I think certain parts I actually executed better than I have in previous matches so I think um I came across a a very you know in in formed today opponent and uh yeah she played she played really well she um Ken's obviously a great player but she' been struggling before it seemed like a level really raised today and she played a great match what is it like I guess like knowing that an opponent will will raise the level fac um I guess I have to take it as a compliment um I think I've had it you know a few times now when opponents have played really well against me and you know it's for it's yeah it's for a reason I guess so uh credit to her she she stuck it out you know and served it out in the third set there was no set up um whereas in previous matches you know that we've watched her play you know the level wasn't constant from the start to the end you know it was a lot more fluctuations whereas today I felt like she was pretty on it um the whole time so yeah I think today she yeah she was better than me and that's it em Emma what are your plans going forward now and do you have any tournaments coming up that you planning on playing yeah I'm going to play in Soul and that's my next event and until then I'm just going to you know go back to the drawing board and and train and you know analyze where I went wrong and and try and improve for the rest of the season obviously the Slams are over for this year but uh you know it's not actually that long until Australia comes around again thank you thank you
