Former 5-star QB Dylan Raiola looks this good for Nebraska following this

folks it certainly seems to me that Nebraska might have this football thing figured out I know that we're getting optimistic I know that you've heard lots of folks like myself tell you we think that Nebraska might be about something or even had some opinions changed just by watching Dylan riola throw a football for the first time but what they did against UTEP was exactly what you would want them to do against UTEP which is drop 40 and show balance right it's not just that Dylan riola had a great debut for a true freshman quarterback in his first start 19 of 27 238 two TDS it's also not that Isaiah ner who is dled back from knee injury from knee injury from Wyoming to Texas to now Nebraska at six for 121 with a TD outstanding story and a go-to Target it's not even that they rushed for 26 yards and put up over 500 41 rushes 5.3 yards per Rush I mean three TDS it's that they took excellent care of the football and that's really the thing like last year it was quite simply if they were better at taking care of the football we're talking about Nebraska going bowling for the first time since 2016 it's that simple Jeff Sims was the reason they lost to Colorado last year putting the ball on the floor throwing the ball to other people against UT that ain't what they did they held on to the football they when they needed to me goodness I think two three of the passes that riola threw were throwaways he really didn't put the ball in anybody's in in in any sort of Harm's Way for the entirety of the game he operated the offense like I was catching hell because I said Marcus saterfield is a good offensive coordinator this is what it looks like to be a good offensive coordinator you go you score 40 you know in a game where you're supposed to go and score 40 you've shown that Nebraska is actually about play its business this year and yeah I feel good about them against next week who wouldn't given what they showed and given what Colorado showed it's really going to be who can take better care of the football and what is really going to be fun for me is shadu Sanders is excellent at taking care of the football Dylan Rola small sample size excellent at taking care of the football you're also talking about one of the Tuli quarterbacks in the sport right now it's just a cannon for an arm it's going 40 yards because he flicks his risk guys and if you can take the top off the defense and if you think Isaiah ner can go one-on-one with Travis Hunter we got a ball game we have fireworks like it it might be nip and Tuck and touch and go the whole way because they're I think they're evenly matched really I do I think Dylan riola and Isaiah ner can go blow for blow with Travis Hunter and shador Sanders then can you run the football Nebraska can damn sure run the football I I have seen nothing to lead me to believe that Colorado can run the football and that's all up to Colorado's line I know that because D Hayden was the number two tailback at Ohio State last year now the number two tailback is quinan jins okay it's like that defensively can you get a pass rush on this dude and if you get a pass rush on him can you put him to the ground that's a big dude back there in Dylan riola and it's a guy that is brimming with confidence right now he has to be because he stepped into the sport on National Television on big fox and he answered the bell and his father who his father is Dominic Rola uh one of the dudes at Nebraska I mean his jerseys retired his daddy coach or excuse me his daddy his uncle coaches the offensive line has got to protect him there's a lot riding on that dude just to make good decisions and what did they do they took care of business and defensively I remember people going Nebraska's defense is getting too much credit for what Tony white was out there making it happen you're looking at the turnovers here I mean you hold him to 58 rush yards you hold him to 114 pass yards you get a turnover and yet we're just going to say that that's UTP at one point Or Another We're going to have to give flower to somebody at some point I realized that the only competitive football game that we have seen going into the night games is Virginia Tech at Vanderbilt which went into overtime but that doesn't really tell us much all the teams that we want to see play aren't going to start knocking heads until midep like we're going to get to see Notre Dame A&M that's a non-conference game that I think we're excited about Michigan Fresno State eh right and then tomorrow we'll have LSU USC but as I'm doing these segments I'm just looking around I'm asking myself straight up and down what do I like and why do I like it I like a football team that takes care of the ball you know I like a football team that can take care of business and goes 11 of 15 on third down that's Nebraska Oklahoma went 0 for 11 against Temple Nebraska didn't allow a single sack oh excuse me I take that back they allow one sack of Dylan Rola and I'm going how much of this is his fault I think that they got a dude back there and I think if you are a Nebraska fan and you are cautiously optimistic continue to be there if you're a Nebraska fan and you're pessimistic I got nothing for you dog this is the wrong show for you because it's August y'all are one and0 and you put a lot of good stuff on film and you ought to feel good about your game against Colorado next week
