man listen up you'll listen to the next
governor of North Carolina get share a few words with guys thank y'all so much for being here we
appreciate you and uh as always give thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ give us our
life and our health and our strength allowing us to do what we allowing us to do what we
no I can't do that y'all hear me yes sir allowing us to do what we do on a daily basis
guys so when I got here a young lady was asking me about my opponent Josh Stein let me tell you
something about my opponent Josh Stein. Josh Stein loves to talk about Mark Robinson. he loves to
talk about what I said on Facebook 10 years ago. let me ask you a question about what I said on
Facebook 10 years ago did it set any policy here in North Carolina? did it make any laws? did it
affect your life one bit? did it affect what you did on your job? in your house? at your school?
no it didn't. but guess what did? what Josh Stein did. when he was in the legislature that's why
he doesn't want to talk about that Josh Stein was in the legislature back in 2008 and when he
was in he was in the legislature Democrats were in control of this state they had the house they
had the Senate and they had the governor's mansion and guess what you had you had nothing so this
state was dead broke $6 billion in debt to the federal government fur state workers because we
couldn't afford to pay them teacher pay Frozen for six years that's a whole lot more powerful than a
statement on Facebook folks but he wants to talk about 10 years ago on Facebook Josh doesn't want
to talk about what he's done as attorney general except get caught up on his homework yeah I
got the r log uh backlog caught up well who's been the Attorney General I have for eight years
apparently it got behind on your watch or your buddies watch Governor Cooper y'all had it for 16
years a matter of fact you've had it for 147 years if it was behind it wasn't my fault it's yours
should have never got behind and he doesn't want to talk about the fact that under his watch raps
have gone up 61% because he doesn't want to talk about the truth folks the truth of the matter
is he was a horrible legislator amen he's been a horrible attorney general and he'll be
a terrible Governor amen the bottom line he doesn't want to talk about the fact that
I'm closely aligned with a legislator that got us out of that economic toilet Republicans
took over in 2010 where are we at now 14 years later we've got a $5 billion surplus we were the
number one business destination two years running we're number two now we lost out to Virginia
we will get it back though folks under Governor Robinson everybody wants to come here
and do business in this state because Republicans are focused on the substantive
issues we're not focused on all this trash and mud amen that Josh Stein and these
reporters are focused on every time you turn on the TV it's another salacious
story about another politician that they can't stand there's one prayer that I have
for this country is that the media would get his Collective head out of his rear
end and start reporting the news again they abuse the God-given right of the First
Amendment use it for their own purpose when was the last time you heard any of the things
that I just said which are facts when was the last time you heard that on WRAL, CBS 17 they
don't want to talk about it because they don't want to talk about the failures of their friends
the Democratic party who have led this state down the wrong road before and will lead it down
the wrong road again if they get in control they don't want to talk about all the businesses
that were destroyed under Governor Cooper places in my hometown of Greensboro businesses that are
empty now because he acted more like a king than a governor because he acted more like uh the
leader than the servant instead of doing what's right by the people they don't want to talk about
things that we've been talking about the entire time on this campaign folks know about the bad
commercials now when when has W which I'm sure has filmed me saying this a number of times when
have they reported that the number one the number one objective of the Robinson Administration will
be to work on our economy and to build an economy that spans from Murphy to Maneo one that works
for everybody and for everybody where they are no more just Charlotte Raleigh High Point Greensboro
Winston we got to build the western part of the state the eastern part of State we got to build up
our Coast we got to make sure that no matter what your ZIP code is you can make a great living build
a great business and have success right where you are you said that in a thousand places a million
times but you'll never hear it on television we've also said this the part of what we got to do
is to get state government right now when you talk about the economy our economy is built on
Five Pillars what are they they're Public Safety public education Health Care infrastructure and
housing why is that important to the governor of North Carolina because the governor is the
person that appoints the person who's over the Department of Public Safety the governor
appoints the person the people who over public education in this state the governor appoints
those people to the State Board of Education and the State Board of Education writes the
standards that your local agency follows the governor appoints the person the DHHS which is
over Healthcare the associated agencies and the governor appoints the people to do and DEQ which
to a large extent determine the success of our infrastructure and our housing government plays a
unique role in helping to supercharge our economy and I believe the way you do it is this number
one you make sure that those people that work in those state agencies are working by one premise
and it's this they don't work for the state of North Carolina they don't work for the Democratic
Party they don't work for the Republican Party the Independent party or the climate change
cabal they work for you and they need to act like number two we need to make sure those those
state agencies aren't weaponized against anyone I don't care what member of what party you're in
I don't care why when people in this state can't trust the agencies that are there to protect them
they n can not uh trust state government itself when I tell you I will be rabbit about making sure
that doesn't happen to anyone I don't care what your party affiliation I don't care if you're the
the farthest right uh Republican or the farthest left Democrat if government is being weaponized
against you we're coming after you to make sure it gets rectified that cannot happen in this state
it shouldn't happen in this nation and those agencies need to be working on business time why
because they're working on your time every dollar they hold up out of a business person's pocket
they're not just affecting that business man or woman guess who else they're affecting they're
affecting the potential employees who are missing out on a paycheck by that business not being open
but it doesn't stop there guess who else they're affecting they're affecting the state of North
Carolina Itself by keeping dollars to be able to go into Revenue so we can continue to invest
in this state and you to help this state grow those State agencies need to be on the point
to help this state grow we're going to see to it that it happens now we mentioned education
we teachers we got to pull that out and we got to examine that by itself because education in
this state needs work to me the number one the worst statistic in this state is this we have a
$33.1 billion budget in this state and of that budget we spend 61% of it on public education
and statistically speaking our K through 12 students can't read on the grade level that is a
great big fat F and guess who doesn't get the f are teachers it is not their fault they didn't
create the system they're not making the rules they're simply trying to survive in a system
that has got completely out of control they're not paid well they're not respected they're not
protected how can we ask anything more of them as much as they're doing now the overwhelming
majority of them are great people struggling to do a great job that we desperately need them
to do but we're not giving them the tools they need to get it done I put the blame directly
at the state level the state level and our school board and our bureaucracy here in North
Carolina which is bloated disjointed and does not play well with others we need to make some
serious changes there folks because we have got we've got to get back to classical education we got to get agendas out of
classroom CRT DEI it's got to go. got to go. we got to get back to Reading
Writing and Mathematics of the core subjects that make our students great and here's the
big one we have to give parents the right to choose their children's educational Destiny the choice is simple everything that
I just spoke on my opponent disagrees with guarantee you that's why if he came here and spoke
you would hear none of that cuz he disagrees with all of them so the choice is simple you want
life liberty and the pursuit of happiness or do you want the status quo of a politician that goes
in the office and work Works simply for his party and to climb that next ladder climb that next run
up go on up the Senate go on up the vice president go on up to Congress wherever they're going to
go I didn't get in this to climb the political ladder I got in this so you could climb the ladder
to success I came in this to bring a ladder to you so you can climb up to the next rung in your life
your business and your children's life when I get done with this I'm going to do just like they
do in Army I'm going to turn my rifle in sign my papers and go on home because politics shouldn't
be a career sir politicians should be focused on getting rich and reelected they should be focused
on serving the people who elected them that's what we're going to do so I'm going tell you like
this I told you about Josh dy's history I told you about the Democrats history in the state and
how they had us dead broke let me tell you this if I become the governor of this state I will be the
first black governor of this state in his history so let's put it like this let's
don't repeat history with Josh Stein. let's make history with Mark
Robinson. God bless y thank so much [Applause]
