on the offense talk about how you feel being so involved in what happened getting a victory today um most happy that we got this Victory um I mean I'm just happy I was able to contribute in a positive way and I'm just looking for just continue to help to help the team win in any way I can so I feel good to get out there and run around a little bit start Stadium the energy was nice uh even though we had some tricky weather at first but I love the energy that was in there I was that as well but it feel great we got our first win Aiden Charles just uh came in here and took accountability for kind of the offenses issues tonight not always being in seek and stuff like that um what does it just do for a team to have a quarterback come in here and just take full accountability even when some of the out of sness isn't necessarily all on him right um I mean I feel like that's that's big um I feel like we all kind of kind of know we all take some type of responsibility for things not going the right way but I mean I feel like we just got to keep working all of us as a whole got clean up little things so that we won't have these these um like sloppy kind of situations but um I think this it's just real important for us to really just go back in next week Lo in and really work extra hard we have I was wondering that the play that they got whistled was kind of a quick whistle can you walk us through what you saw thought about that one um honestly I mean I heard I heard the whistle but I mean I was just Dr really just trying to run but I mean I guess they they they seen it a different way so that but I mean then the next touch I believe what you had 63 like T yeah that was line touchdown like soon I got that that crease open up and I just did what I was supposed to do Jack when you got to the end zone Kon it looked like you thought you had a touchdown did you hear the whistle and when you found out that it been blown back what do you think yeah I mean I did hear a whistle but I mean it was so much chaos going I just I got to finish the play so that was just me just really just finishing play like practice through the whistle did you know on the one that counted when you got through the line that going all the way right here so isn't really function as you like it to be know how much easier is is on you guys as un when the defense is playing so uh we got to play complimentary football um defense is playing well and complimentary football is we compl compliment the defense so I mean I feel like we got to continue to to strive as offense to really pick up where we're Ling um pick up our like we have just kind of clean we need clean up as a offense so we can play com football but that's how we wi games more games I'm wondering everyone talks about game one the game two grow um with there areas in the game what areas do you feel like inside of this game maybe you guys a little bit um I say really just just pushing I mean this kind of pushing through we have little ADV really pushing through and keep working everything go but how we respond to so I think a good way of responding way on both sides of the last one for K up there and we have Angelo gross here too we'll bring in Chris B here shortly based what you saw inti all yeah um I I don't I mean I think it's just kind of like the first game uh our first game kind of sometimes that's kind of um it's our first time we obviously scage against each other but this the first time we in a live environment um things going 100 m hour so I just think that was just little first game Jitters and like I said we continue to get back in practice on the practice field and man keep got work work hard so we can minimize that so we can continue to be all right thanks K now questions for and Angelo you were all over the field that right here all over the field tonight uh what was your feeling with uh this first game last year man last ride I got to do everything fly around make plays got to kind of stand with that and uh teammate just said talk about from the beginning when the smokers out there you guys are coming through the smoke it's the first game after going against your teammates to get into this point what has been your mental ride uh for this entire game ST focused St motivated finding a way to stay motivated way keep getting better every day never could be perfect angel over here uh what was coach Smith's message after the game uh definitely got mistakes to clean up but we're happy with the win here what were the challenges with the quarterback move a little bit like that the challenges of game one when you guys had some pieces coming in out inju guys play lot of guys for sure uh really keeping everybody ready to go I mean everybody's preparing you know for the same thing so you know never know when you going to be out there so next man up got to be ready to play I saw you and your brother same part second half ofield was that experience like for you guys do I mean high school we played two years together so it just kind of likeo like uh late in the game when there was that like fourth down and Jordan Turner you know was called for targeting and they could have that could have been a game changer right like if if that was upheld what's just kind of going through your mind in that moment and knowing that you guys like need to get that stop and then just kind of living in that uncertainty he was ready to go back out there and play defense try another stop that was our mindset let's go out again stop yeah for both of you guys I mean there were times in previous years where the off struggled defense get STS I mean we talk about response all the time you know things ain't going our way how we going to respond how we going to go out there and still do what we need to do so I feel like we really emphasized that and that's what we went out there and did uh our way jell said um we just have to respond at the end of the day it's football uh we work hard each and every day even the practice even the practice when the game is not going our way in practice we got to respond and I just feel like we C off each other's energy and just kep elevating a defense so Chris obviously first game under this new defensive staff you guys get off to a really hot start as a defense what was the feeling on that side uh it was just amazing uh just to come out here play with my brothers uh it's the first game uh the came out it was loud um first drive it was great uh coach Ry was calling in the right place put us in the right position we just had go I wonder if you guys can kind of break down the challenge that particularly with the late slides how much did that want to try to one play where after spener got thrown out G is kind of just pulled up and just let him go how does that change Def uh it definitely pulls you back a little bit you know trying to keep everybody safe trying not to Target uh so yeah it definitely changes it a little bit but you know got play you know how you play yeah I feel that uh it's just like we got to play on every day and uh play discipline I feel like he's a great quarterback uh he slides a lot we just got to be disciplined and try not to get no targeting Cs and stuff like that so for Chris so uh first series look like you got a little chippy with uh the tackle for for atantic lar as a see that he was a former for State transfer was there any uh knowledge behind that uh not necessarily I was just going out there execute game plan that gave us and uh I just feel like he knew I was from Florida also so just get you you guys I 24 hours that's it 24 hours on to the next wondering what was what was it like for you to see a lot of different dein make playson espe mostly a lot of you guys that we haven't seen before just what you about that enou uh I knew it was going to happen because we practiced how we play how we play they make plays in practice translate over to the game I guess for both of you guys when there so many penalties whatever the variety on the defensive side like how do how you guys to mentally sort of stay lock in the best you could those that's the response you talking about like we talk about response all the time you know penalty uh whatever happens how you going to respond to it just to see uh the SA early like the first points scored in the Jonathan Smith eras by the defense just kind of what was your reaction to that and how much pride do you take in that uh I would say we take a lot of pride in that uh scoring on defense uh I mean especially with Co Smith he's just a great coach to play for I mean at the end of the day we just got to go out there uh gave the game plan earlier in the week he told us it's our game on game day just go out there L and focus play the game so Chris you had one and a half sacks two and a half TS L is that what you envisioned with the new defense going install with in the spring thise of explosiveness talk about I know you're there busy playing did you the rush um I just knew coming into the game uh quarterback he liked to scramble a lot so I was trying to just eliminate his scrambles as much as I can to help it out in the back end uh give them time to cover a little bit uh get home as fast as I can I'm trying to be the clock not the quarterback so yeah uh Rd line great so yeah we we definitely feel the pressure we definitely feel like that b might not get out and definitely feel good for a DB when you know our D line up there hunting so for sure yeah did it feel for both you guys again did it feel different playing this kind of Defense I mean and as the game went on the confidence kind of as you saw more success I would say yeah because back to what I was saying it's practice we practice how we play even in practice when it's not going our way uh we just got to respond and keep going just keep going each and every down each and every play each and every drive it doesn't matter what happens we just got to keep elevating pick each other up CHR as seniors and veterans in this program even on the other side of the you pull a the side and kind of have a talk with him kind of keep his confidence up after a game like this and when you hear a quarterback say the things that you said about taking accountability for the offensive problems I guess how do you respond after being around for a while uh I feel like he's a leader over on that side of the ball so what he said you know that's what he going to do he took accountability for it uh that's the type of guy he is I feel like he going go you feel like say something keep head up yeah for sure for sure keep his head up keep you going come off to the Seline head down you know things like that yeah cuz I mean we all we me and J we done been in this situation before so I mean just tell Aiden like pick your head up we got you we got your back no matter what so at the end of the day we just going to talk to him this 24 hour ru game behind us and move on to the next anything else last one stepen both you guys just real quick I'm wondering the first game with the helmet coms to play coming out wasn't you guys just how clear was that the delivery the communication how that work it was pretty good I mean with them having a headphone out there we miss it from the Seline they can get right or need extra check can get the extra check from the headset so I think it's very Chris I want to ask you too Alex man is a guy that we saw a lot of haven't seen a lot of to this point in his career what have you noticed from him in preseason or whatever it was that got him on the field uh he came off for injury um he just been working his ass off for Rehab so I mean seeing him in rehab and knowing his situation and how far he has become and the player that he is it's amazing I'm just happy for else yes all right thanks guys
