good morning hope everybody's having a great week uh we are uh today is Thursday and uh getting close to the weekend so hope everybody's had a great week getting ready for a good weekend got a kind of an impromptu live stream interview this morning uh we had a chance to sit down with Brooks uh a week or so ago and unfortunately we had some te technical difficulties um and I I just felt it would be better to just redo this interview with Brooks all all the way around just to give uh him a fair chance to have a really nice uh interview without problems so without further Ado Brooks was here with us this morning um he's he's uh uh on a little bit of a tight schedule so we'll we'll try not to keep him too long but uh we do want to redo the interview and give him a chance to to tell his story and hopefully it uh be done the right way this time so Brooks without further Ado good morning thank you uh for joining us this morning uh I know you're a busy man so I don't want to I don't want to take up a lot of your time but um I really appreciate you give me a chance to redo this I just I rewatched the interview I just didn't feel like the first part of it flowed very well I think the technical glitches kind of threw everything off and so I just thought man what if we just sit down and redo this all the way you know all the way around and and um you know make it smoother so um anyway um let's just jump right into this thing um you know I know uh I know you you you took some time and and uh we're just talking offline you took some time to take a little vacation time with family and and uh you were telling me about that so talk about your your vacation time you know it's always important to get away and relax and recharge a little bit how was that yeah it was great uh we were with my my wife's family up in uh Mcall Idaho it's about hour 45 two hours north of Boise um kind of like a little mountain town uh was a lake um it was great we spent a lot of time kind of out just doing some things like mountain biking hiking um we went out on the lake a little bit um it was nice to kind of get away um kind of in between the summer school semester and the fall school semester and um luckily I did have access to a little bit of a weight room so I was able to get a handful of good workouts in and uh get some good running workouts in kind of up some hills and stuff so it was great to kind of get away from the the craziness of life for a little bit still still be able to do the things I enjoy so now you you train QBs right you you work with a a training facility um and you work with QBs talk a little bit about that and how that's um how that keeps you around the game and and and gives you a chance to keep the mental part of your game strong obviously because you're teaching the fundamentals and techniques to other QBs you're continuing to go over I'm sure reading coverages and and knowing where the holes are and understanding defensive schemes and what you see in front of you um how has that really helped you stay close to the game and stay mentally prepared for the next opportunity yeah um so it kind of started out sat on a whim I had um a good family friend asked if I'd be willing to train their younger son and um you know just kind of stuck just kind of kind of kept getting referrals um and now it's grown to the point where now that Utah high school football is in season and college football starts um this weekend um obviously I'm not out on the field training with these guys as much as I was in the summer in the off season but you know twice a week we're out on the field usually Mondays and Saturdays for you know my younger guys who don't play uh on the on Fridays we go Mondays and then my high school guys we usually go Saturdays just to kind of get them out get them moving around after their games on you know either Thursday or Friday um but from Tuesday to Thursday I generally am watching film with at least one of my quarterbacks on their either on their game prep for this week or on their previous game from last week um and we're really you know really hammering down some scouting if it's some game prep for this week we're kind you know recognizing hey what coverage is this how do they like to play it um or we'll go back and watch last week's film and you know talk about what went well um some of the mistakes that were maybe made some of the things that were maybe missed and why they were missed um it's a really indepth analysis for those guys um I personally feel like it's helped me a bunch being able to kind of teach these things and you know I always heard that when you become a teacher you're going to learn more than you ever did as as the student and I I do think that is true I've learned so much through this experience um but one of the main things I get is you know I see you know this school might be running a cover four but there's still a lot of little different nuances that they might have versus the next school that runs it um and so the the ability to see that and still get be involved in game planning and you know postgame uh postgame recovery and um analysis has been super helpful to me it still makes me feel like I'm part of a QB room somewhere um and the fact that I'm getting it from multiple different schools every week and being able to Scout and you know kind of go over multiple offenses and defenses each week has been has been super helpful for me yeah I I can imagine you know every athlete that I work with that that gets an opportunity to coach whether it's on a high school team or a middle school team or they're doing private training I think the common theme that I always hear from them is that when they step on the other side of the white line they start to have some of those aha moments kind of like that's what that coach was trying to tell me that's what he was talking about when he said that you know kind of those types of things and and so I guess I'm curious to get your take and and it sounds like you you've already kind of uh um um indicated that but have you had some of those aha moments yeah definitely um you know whether it's kind of like hey this is this is actually how these guys are seeing this coverage or you still there yeah I'm still here hey Brooks can you hear me uh Brooks is freezing on the other side here oh there he is can you hear me there we go can you hear me all good yeah you're you're you're freezing a little bit on your side um it doesn't seem to be on my side this time but come on Can You Hear Me coach no for all right we're back gotcha Brooks I'm so sorry man I don't know what happened there um my internet's working fine I've not been having any problems everything seemed to be smooth and I asked that question and then it was like all of a sudden on your side you froze and then streamyard kicked me out and then I came right back in so um go ahead with your answer though talk about um those aha moments I'm sure you've had a few and that's kind of what we were talking about so yeah um yeah there's been I mean there's been plenty uh there's probably even some that I don't even remember at this point but you know whether is something mechanically that just kind of Clicks in my mind differently by having to say it a different way or you know something that a you know one of my players tells me the way he's feeling something or you know on the flip side if we're talking about more you know the coverages or you know Concepts there's a different way that you know maybe a kid his OC has him read a play and I'm like oh wow I've never um I've never heard that way before and that seems really interesting or you know there's been there's been a handful of times too where I hear a way that they're encouraged to read a play and I'm kind of like all right well I can see that I can see why they would go there but what do you think about this and and um I like to approach everything uh that I'm teaching as kind of open dialogue like an open discussion we're going to go back and forth and really make sure we're on the same page and you know I'm going to learn from you guys you guys are going to learn from me and that way we're going to be able to kind of get this um really figured out to the best of our end or best of our ability on each end um so yeah I mean there's been there's been numerous times where I've just kind of been like wow that's that's not something I would have thought of um but I'm glad we had this conversation so we're able to kind of figure that out and we could both learn from it absolutely let's um you know I I think it's really neat especially when guys like yourself get into private training and you're able to to share your knowledge and wisdom and your understanding of the position and train the next generation of players coming up um but let's let's go ahead and jump right back into your journey now uh and really help people understand your journey and and how you've gotten to where you are right now let's let's start out let's just talk about real quickly uh your high school Journey where where did you play high school ball uh talk about your your experience uh with that you know memorable moments any kind of awards honors accolades achievements um talk a little bit about the the offensive system that you worked out of in high school uh was it something you were comfortable with was it something that maybe you had to spend a little bit more time in the film room or the Playbook or on the field with your coaches getting used to the concepts kind of start with that piece and take us through that gotcha yeah so high school career I played baseball basketball football um happened to be you know the in Utah the high school equivalent of All Conference uh for baseball and football um was academic All State um I played at orm High School here in orm Utah um one of my teammates actually was uh puka nakua a receiver with the Rams he was one of my good friends in high school um we we usually when he was in college we would train together all the time the offseason I don't think he's I think he's only in La these days but um our offensive scheme it was a it was a spread that was something that I had kind of come up running anyway so I was very comfortable with it when I got to the you know the varsity level um however you know as a as a guy who absolutely loves processes and being able to kind of go through things and you know getting prepared I spent um a bunch of time in the film room um I think that kind of helped me really understand uh on a deeper level what my offensive coordinator was thinking when he's calling a certain play um what he's seeing what I'm seeing um and it became a a very um advantageous relationship to where you know he's calling a play and while he's calling the play I'm knowing what he's thinking and where he's wanting to attack um and that really came around um when we played Corner Canyon um it's probably the the top high school football program here in Utah um at the time their their quarterback was uh Zack Wilson who's uh he's I believe he's with the Broncos now yeah and you know that game it it didn't start out super well we were down um I want to say by three scores going into halftime um and then the second half we came back um and actually beat him um I I went I went for h four touchdowns and over 300 and 330 340 yards in the air um and had a decent game on the ground also um but that one that was a game that I'll always remember um because Zach and I were we we would train together in the offseason we were you know we were always competitive with each other we were friends but um you know knowing that he was one of the top quarterbacks in in in his class and um we were able to go compete and have really you know really entertaining really competitive games that was one that will stick with me for ever because we you know we got down early but then we came back and really fought and it played well in that second half and and ended up coming out with a win so that's that's pretty neat that you had a chance to to be around guys that are currently in the NFL um it talk about is that kind of an encouragement to you with your journey that you know they guys that came out of the same schools and the same area that you were in or that you're currently in and they were able to make it to the highest levels does that encourage you each day to continue to push knowing that they're you know even where you're from or whatever that you can still get on that ladder and start to climb and get up it yeah um it's it's definitely encouraging to know that you know I played at at a high level with these guys who are now playing in the n NFL um at the same time it does get a little discouraging knowing like hey you know sometimes it's it's hard not to think oh why Why Not Me Why Not Me like why didn't I get this opportunity and yeah you know I try and keep a you know a good overall view on the situation and you know I I recognize that you know through my journey there's been decisions that have been made either that are completely out of my control um or decisions that I made that were in my control that maybe didn't lead me down you know the perfect path to set this up and um you know I look back on on my journey and I'm I'm very grateful for it because it's it's been so hard it's taught me so many different things um I've grown so much not only as a as a player but as as a leader um I I've gained so much knowledge I've met people that I wouldn't have met otherwise and it's it's been a huge challenge but it's also been one of the one of my biggest blessings is being able to go through that struggle and learn these things and meet people and get in contact with people and you know grow as a quarterback as as an offensive minded player as a coach uh as a leader so you know there are times where it does get discouraging when I feel like hey like you know is why hasn't my opportunity to come then then again I just think about it I'm like hey man man like you're you're on your own Journey you're you're getting you're getting there how you're going to get there U and things are going to work out how they're supposed to so it's always been great for me to you know go out and train and compete with these guys that you know are at that high level um I think it I think it really sharpens me as a player um and it you know it gives me that confidence to know like hey I can hang I can hang with these guys um so I know that was kind of a roundabout answer um no no it's it's a it's a from the heart answer and I I appreciate that um do you have contact with those guys especially your old high school teammate and if so um do they share words of encouragement or any kind of Guidance with you on hey you know need to try to do this or do that or yeah um you know puka and I for a long time were you know we we would stay in contact UM really ever since he broke into the NFL um I knew his phone was probably blown up by everybody um and so we actually haven't been in contact much as of late uh I've been in contact a lot more with his older brother who um had a pretty solid year this past year in the UFL um and ended up getting picked up by the Saints his name is Samson um but yeah him Samson and I have trained a bunch um over the past year or two years um but yeah with with puka he just kind of he burst onto the scene you know had a great year last year I was super excited for him um but I just knew he had so much going on and we just haven't really spoke much since but yeah you know wish him all the best you know love that kid he's he's one of the most you know pure-hearted people I've ever met and I couldn't be more happy for him so yeah your time's coming it's coming I promise it's coming sooner than you think um this next part is part that I I felt last time we did the interview that I didn't do a good job of keeping straight and really making the flow of that part of the conversation the best it could be so I want to do a better job this morning um let's talk about your college Journey now you had kind of a you've had kind of a long journey as some guys do uh when they start to bounce around in different schools and [ __ ] and things but I want to try to keep this in order so that our viewers understand and and I stay on point with you yeah so you left High School what was the what opportunities did you have offer wise whether it was a full scholarship or partial or preferred walk-on or whatever what were the opportunities you had lined up coming out of high school and then let's talk about about what was the first stop on the journey yeah so I my senior year um I had a handful of interest from uh most of the schools in Utah uh most of them came out to watch me play Scout me my senior year um but I ended up getting uh pretty banged up in a game um and uh I just I'm not sure you know whether that kind of was a red flag that I got hurt um or if I just wasn't performing to the best my ability during that injury because I did try to play through it um but I ended up you know it was it was July after I graduated and my plan was actually to go play college baseball in Colorado um that coach that I would was in communication with um usually college baseball coaches take the month of July off that's about the only month around the year that they they get off and during that time um Southern Utah the FCS program here um obviously Southern Utah um starts blowing up my phone and you know I'm sitting here I've been 18 for about a month and I I have you know offensive coordinator and position coaches calling me saying hey we want you to come be one of our quarterbacks and I'm I'm sitting here thinking wow I can go be a division one quarterback like let's do it um and honestly it was it was it was a very rushed experience because it was middle of July and I needed to be be there in about a week um and so there was a little bit of um miscommunication on if it was going to be a scholarship if it be partial full or if it was going to be a preferred walk-on anyway things you know the dust kind of settled um I get down there as a preferred walk-on was there for fall Camp um season went well uh we opened up against Oregon um so that was I I at that time they announced that I was going to be red shirting so I was running Oregon's offense and then for the rest of the year I had the scout team all to myself um and that was honestly one of one of the best experiences I've had um we ended up winning the Big Sky Conference that year and had a first round buy into the FCS playoffs um but each week I got to I got to experience a new offense and I think that really gave me um a well-rounded base on the offenses that I feel comfortable in um fast forward to Christmas break um you know my grandfather uh who was supporting me at the time going to school you know I was I was an 18-year-old kid I bar I worked construction all summer just to be able to afford to go there and he was helping support me um he got diagnosed with uh with prostate cancer and it was it was looking pretty bad um so he wasn't going to be able to help me out anymore which is obviously you know I can't blame him for that I I I was so thankful for him for helping me and we had a you know we had a great relationship ship um so at that time I was trying to figure out hey um I know you guys said when the senior quarterback graduates I'll be able to get his scholarship like is that still like are we still on that path um here's the situation can't really afford to be there as a walkon anymore um and unfortunately they couldn't um they couldn't honor that scholarship they had a couple of out ofate kids that they needed to get scholarship money too so that was when I decided I was going to go down to Puma Community College um I enrolled there The Following fall um was down there we had a great year um for those of for those of us that know much about that Arizona the the wsfl um while I was there they announced that they're dropping the program all the Arizona [ __ ] did yeah and so that was kind of a you know a shock to to most of us who had just signed there that we were only going to get that one year but that year was um it was great you know we were picked to finish last in our conference and we made it all the way to the conference Championship um we went we had pima's highest uh ranking nationally in 20 years um and we we played in um the Heart of Texas Bowl against Kilgore College um so that was a great experience um in the craziness of that um I had a few scholarship offers thought I was going to be able to go to or take uh you know a couple of them but every time I was about ready to sign we you know the school the coaches got a got a message from their compliance office saying hey he was out of division one first like he needs to finish like does he need to finish his um associates degree before he can come back and what I had been told was that I was fine because you know if an NCAA program drops their program you can transfer freely right and since this program was being dropped I was under the impression that would be applicable for me um come to find out that nobody was certain on that and they didn't want to get dinged with some you know compliance red tape so we decided hey like let's finish up your degree your associates degree uh that way you can get somewhere and so we looked at you know going to a couple different Jos to see if I could play that you know The Following fall after Puma um ended up settling on what I thought was going to be a really good opportunity um in Kansas at Dodge City um turns out was some pretty serious miscommunication about scholarship I was on um it was only covering tuition but you know I didn't know that the fees at the school were actually more expensive than tuition um and at the time um we really couldn't afford that so I was out there for summer workouts but it really really wasn't going to pan out for me to be there uh MoneyWise so we were thinking hey like maybe I should just do a do a student loan and figure it out um but then I also found out after meeting with an academic adviser there that I wasn't going to be able to graduate that fall anyway they need a certain percentage of your credits to be from the school to award a degree um so at that point we decided Well I'm just GNA finish up my degree through Puma online um and then we're gonna we do when I get to my university we're going to do an academic appeal to get that year of Eligibility back um so I was set to transfer to the University of Wyoming uh go play football there and I was going to go for Spring ball right when spring Ball's about to start was when uh the covid-19 pandemic hit so everything obviously got shut down they were no longer able to bring me in um and ever since then it was just kind of a a mess you know I think Co ruined a lot of things for a lot of people um I don't feel like I really need to go into detail on how that was I'm sure everybody has their own issues with it um but yeah it was just a really was just a battle since then um I thought I was going to end up at the University of Utah but they were in a kind of a battle with the aftermath of Co with you know people getting Co years and people getting you know red shirt medical red shirt years for other things and um their their quarterback room was I think at 8 at the time and they didn't want to bring in a ninth but they were expecting one of their guys to transfer and another guy that they were thinking where they were going to move positions and as soon as that happened they were supposed to be giv me a call that NE that call never came so you know since then it's been I've spent a lot of time um just really trying to perfect my game whether it's you know throw mechanics whether it's you know speed training explosive training I've spent a lot of time out coach can you hear me can you hear me coach got you still there yeah I'm still here can you hear me there you go you're good no you're good go ahead okay yeah so in that time I you know I've just tried to perfect kind of my craft make sure I'm you know as fluid as possible with my mechanics I'm getting you know trying to get explosive as possible make sure I'm you know be make sure I'm able to run a good 40 time and you know my my top Sprint speeds up there and um throughout this process I've I've been out with uh 3D QB in California um I don't even know how many times at this point but really just perfecting everything that I can and controlling what I can control to you know so whenever that call comes I'll be ready for it let's let's talk a little bit more about Pima um you talked about the bowl game did you get a chance to compete in that ball game did you play in that yeah I did um there's actually a clip uh it happened so that game um I it was in the it was towards the end of the first quarter um I started that game but we had a screenplay to our running back and they they blitzed the backer off of the right side and as I'm you know as I'm delivering this throw um that linebacker came and took my knee out out right underneath me um luckily I was I'd always kind of been taught to you know if you're throwing a screen pass maybe maybe you even want to kind of get up off the ground and kind of deliver this ball so luckily my foot wasn't planted otherwise I probably would have um been looking at you know a year of ACL and MCL recovery but uh luckily the only thing that really happened was I jammed my thumb pretty bad um end up you know leaving that game because I couldn't really grip the football anymore yeah that one that's a that's a small sacrifice uh for maintaining your ACL yeah in the big picture of things definitely um you know I pulled your bio and I I tried to make sure I had this last time but I made sure this morning I had this when we started so at Pima you played nine games you threw for 1,955 yards 14 touchdowns um you you you had roughly 217 yards a game um you know I wanted to want to kind of hit on a couple other things here um here we go uh so you had 14 touchdowns um your passer efficiency was 138.4 you were second in the conference and passer efficiency rating uh your average average yards per game or your yards per game you were first in the conference uh your total amount of yards thrown first in the conference um you had 132 completions on 233 attempts good for third in the conference in both statistical categories um I think the one thing and we talked about this last time and I I I think it's important to talk about it this time obviously you had 10 10 interceptions and you know we talked about a lot of times in the eyes of a scout or a coach or a GM or a player personal director you know when your touchdowns and interception numbers are pretty close um there's always a question about why is his interception total so high is it decision making is it um um uh accuracy problems if a Coach or a scout or a GM or somebody of that nature were to pose that question to you talking about a potential opportunity what would your response be to them as to why those two numbers are pretty similar yeah um so it's it's kind of a tough question to answer um mostly because you know they announced when they announced that they were dropping the program we had about three I think at at one point in one game we had four quarterbacks total take reps um trying to get all those guys some film so we can move on um but our philosophy as an offense especially towards the end of the year uh we had some running backs and some o linemen get banged up so we really kind of took on more of an air raid personality and we were just throwing you know were throwing the the rock around the entire yard um and unfortunately um there definitely were some decisions that I made um that I probably shouldn't have made I probably tried to you know maybe had a little bit too much confidence in my arm and you know try to force something into a pretty tight window um but at the same time there you know our philosophy was hey if you know we got one-on-one matchups with our guys you know we like our 50-50 balls and we're going to take those shots and we're going to try and give them opport um you know a couple of those ended up being you know balls that got tipped up in those you know 50/50s and then unfortunately the other guy came down with it but that was really our philosophy was hey we're going to take these shots we're going to push the ball down field um obviously I would like to have a little bit uh you know better numbers than I did as far as the touchdown interception ratio goes um but I think for the most part you know if if anybody's willing to you know take the time watch my film or to you know you watch recent workout film or even watch me throw live they'll realize that it's not it's generally not a decision uh decision making or an accuracy thing that was just our philosophy and we weren't really concerned with throwing you know interceptions that much it was more of hey let's push the ball downfield and what whatever you know we're gonna we're going to come down with a lot of these and you know hopefully we're if we're not coming down with them nobody is um so definitely you know as any quarterback has over the course of the Season there's a couple throws we' probably like to have back um but other than that you know I would I would attribute you know some of those interceptions just to kind of our philosophy you know hey it's you know third and long or it's Fourth and long an interception here is you know is just as good as a punt anyway type of thing so again statistically speaking you know as as a quarterback as somebody who's maybe a little bit of a perfectionist I would prefer to have you know three or four more TDs on that and then you know four or five of those interceptions not have happened um yeah you know at the end of the day you know I recognize that it's probably a little bit of a of a red flag to see that um but I think if we you know any any GM scouter coach if we were able to talk about it I think we would you know come to the same conclusion like hey that was just kind of you know that was just kind of the situation it wasn't necessarily hey like he's just throwing everything to the defense all the time it was more of a you know that happened a few times that were you know bad decisions on his end but you know some of these were just based on the philosophy that their offense was I want real quick we got we got viewers and and we already had a a like or two on here if there's a coach or a scout or GM that's currently watching if you have a question for Brooke and you'd like to ask that make sure to type that in the comments it'll pop up on our side uh we'll stop real quick and address that or let him answer those questions or if you have an opportunity you'd like to throw across the table uh please do so uh and again we'll we'll be happy to address that as we're going through the interview process so um let's talk about you know obviously you you you performed really well at Pima and there was a game where you were um NJCAA player of the week I believe and then also wsfl uh player of the week talk about that honor a little bit and and and talk about that particular game and and and why did that game just kind of come together to where you had such a great performance and were able to put yourself in a position for the that particular honor yeah um so that game was against Phoenix College um I remember it very well um our first couple of non-conference games we were splitting um the Reps between all the quarterbacks pretty lightly um and I met with you know my head coach My OC before this game and they informed me that I was going to be the starter I was going to take all all of the meaningful reps um and so I feel like I had a little bit of extra vote confidence knowing that I had you know just outright won the job and I was going to be the guy taking all the Reps um when you know when the game mattered um and I remember um you know Phoenix College had a had a pretty aggressive defense they they like to run a little bit more of kind of one high looks whether they're going into a cover three or you know cover one man but they're bringing pressure and that's a in my opinion that's a defense that I really enjoy going against because hey you're going to bring pressure I'm just going to replace where you came from you guys better rotate quickly or because that Ball's coming out and you know if if they do if they begin to start to rotate quickly then I'm going to take my shots downfield oneon-one and yeah I might take a hit or two but um you know it's G that hit's not going to feel as bad when my guys are strolling into the end zone so um you know that week was that week was awesome um I I probably spent you know 15 to 20 hours of watching film that week I I had a great feeling about our game plan going into it um our my offensive line played really really well they trusted me with you know with the pass Pro that I was adjusting them to and um you know my running back who probably didn't it doesn't show up in the stats but he was he was great in pass Pro uh he wasn't he wasn't a huge guy but you know he was taking on their D lineman he's taking on their linebackers who you know had anywhere from you know 20 to 80 pounds on him and he's taking them on um and then my receivers were you know they were catching everything um it was just it was you know one of the most efficient offenses that I had been a part of to that point and it seemed like everything you know everything was working you know receivers were you know getting their eyes around right at their as the time the ball was getting to them and you know their cut was coming at the right exact time that I was expecting it and um you know it was it was a game that I'll remember for the rest of my life um it's it's funny because out of all the throws that I made there's one throw um where I had to escape out of the pocket to my left and I had one of I had one of my slot receivers kind of scramble Jill adust adjust his route he's about you know 25 30 yards down field and I had a defender in my face and I go to deliver the ball and as soon as I released it I realized a i i i I put that too far out in front of him and I think it was it was probably the one throw that I truly missed in that game um and that one will hang with me for a while because if I would have completed it he might have scored but I definitely would have gone over 500 yards for that game and that would have put me over 2,000 for the entire season so um as a guy who you know has some perfectionist Tendencies that's that's one throw that I missed in that game that you know I really wish I wouldn't have because you know other than that I feel like I you know I I was pretty efficient I was pretty solid uh I was making good reads and delivering the ball and letting my guys go do their thing after the catch and that was one throw that you know might haunt me forever so you so that night you go 22 of 30 you throw for 457 yards you threw five TDS and then you ran for one I mean that's a pretty pretty de on good night I mean you're pushing you know not quite the 475 but you're really pushing 475 and I mean six total TDS and and there's only eight passes out of 30 that you know didn't connect so I mean that's that's a solid night right there um what type of offenses were you running at at Pima um and and uh how comfortable overall throughout the year were you in that scheme yeah so it originally started out as a spread and then kind of towards the middle of the Season we went a little bit more into kind of the air raid philosophy just due to some injuries we could couldn't run the ball um about halfway through the season like we could early on but um yeah I you know being an offense that I ran in high school and then I ran a Southern Utah um I was very comfortable in that offense very familiar um I think you know in my experience both in college you know kind of after now going through training with a bunch of different High School guys and some some of my college guys and seeing their offenses most of the time the plays and the philosophies are are the same the terminology just changes um so I felt very comfortable um it was it was very you know gave me a lot of confidence to know that hey I know what we're doing um I know that my guys know what we're doing um and that was a huge help for me you know I see things like you know a few years ago when Baker Mayfield ended up in um Los Angeles and I think they traded him on a Tuesday and he's playing in the game on a Thursday um you know the confidence he must have to be able to go out and run an offense like that in two days is absolutely yeah you know it's it's really impressive and I think that you know the more experience you get the more comfortable you get with you know offensive football in general you're able to kind of relate things to you know stuff you've seen before stuff you you know you've maybe repped in practice or you know things that kind of broke down in a game but it ended up being like this concept anyway um so yeah that was you know pima's offense was was it was great for me I felt like it was a great fit to be able to you know play to my strengths as you know as a guy who can you know who can kind of move around a little bit but can you know can throw it and it was it was it was super super helpful to kind of have a have a background in that spread air raid type offense still hear me coach you know the the International Football Lan is is trying to start up and and we are directly connected uh with them you know how mummy is coaching one of the teams and obviously how mummy um was you know most known for his time at Kentucky uh with Tim Couch uh how mummy is also regarded as one of the Godfathers to the air rate offense um what would it mean for you to have e I'm sorry Brooks I don't know if it's my internet over here I don't know sometimes the server randomly resets itself in the mornings I don't know if caught this at that time or not um I think I might just be your black sheep we're we're going to we're going to get this we're going to get this at some point we're going to get this right with you and get it it's not you it's it's obviously on my end and I I'll get to the bottom of it it's not my laptop I think it's the internet I know sometimes in the past the broadband internet server resets itself sometimes in the mornings and I'll I'll find them doing things and get caught in the middle of that reset um but what I was asking about was the International Football Alliance is starting up and you know how mummy coach mummy is is coaching one of the teams and uh he's most known for his time at Kentucky with Tim counts um guess that would have been back in the 90s um and and he's regarded as one of the Godfathers of the air rid offense having spent time in that and having experience with that if an opportunity like that were to present itself um what would that mean to you to have an opportunity to one either potentially work out in front of him or even potentially have a chance to play for somebody like him knowing that he is regarded as one of the experts of that particular offensive system and one of the people that help design that offensive system yeah um you know I I don't think I could say yes fast enough if if something were to come up um you know I'm I'm reading uh Mike leech's book swing your sword right now and obviously you know coach leech and Coach mommy work together very closely um so you know the amount of respect I have for you know for um both those guys is you know it's off the charts I you know even if even if my playing career didn't work out with them I think it would be a a huge benefit just to be around and learn from you know from guys like that so uh yeah that I couldn't say yes fast enough obviously I I I would agree with you on that you know you were talking about that particular week wsfl honors and jcaa honors and you mentioned how many hours of of study you put in film study wise um that kind of triggered a thought that I want to ask you about is a QB when you're on an active roster College you know even when you were back in high school and and now as you prepare to finally you know grab a professional opportunity how many hours of study a week do you put in with film study um compared to maybe a I don't know a defensive lineman or or a running back or just how many hours you know P obviously pton Manning I'm I'm a Tennessee Vs fan born and raised and you know pton Manning has always been regarded as a student of the game and that he studies playbooks and film more than anybody and and just has this knack for being able to digest that information talk about your film study habits yeah yeah um you know I'm a guy that you know whether you know how however my brain works is you know is it is what it is but you know generally especially when I was at puma and I was in high school um you know Southern Utah you know some of these other places um go through watch everything with the team watch everything with the offense um uh you know that's there that in itself is a couple hours um but then again on my own you know I like to see stuff over and over and you know I don't feel like I'm you know whether I'm reading a book or whatever it may be I don't feel like I'm getting the whole picture of something just the first time through and so I generally watch you know the entire game you know three four times and over um you know I think that allows me to you know hey you know I could see I can see that they're running a cover two here but you know cover two is not always the same depending on what you know the players are on on the field they're doing you know some guys might have you know there's there's some very talented Corners that can really disguise that they're in a cover two and they can even you know they can even drop off of their cover two Zone and go make a play Down field so um the amount of time that can be spent in the film room I don't I don't feel like there's ever even enough time I feel like you can there's always you know there's always something else you can see there's always you know something else you can learn another tendency you could figure out from the defense so um you know if if time wasn't a factor I think I would be in there 247 you know um but yeah I you know I love film I love learning um just being being able to see like hey you know they are they're running this coverage but the way that their their Leverage is in relation to this specific route you know generally that route would be dead against his coverage but because the way that they're leveraged you know we might be able to fit that in there and then he could crease that um you know that's not something they've seen people try to attack but just based on the way that they're playing that specific coverage it might be there right so you know there's stuff like that that you know I get you know I'm watching film I start to get giddy just thinking of all all the things we could do on the offensive side of the ball to really go after these guys so I like the answer um when you mentioned that week I just that kind of triggered a thought in my head and um like I said you know everybody regards paper Manning as a student of the game and there's some old documentaries at Tennessee where they show him in the film room with the remote and he's in there by himself and you know they talk about how they use had to kick him out of the film room because he was in there all the time and and he would uh the equipment manager talked about how good of friends they became because pton would come in and um you know get so many films and um you know be back that Day wantan More film and turning back in what he already had and things like that and so that was something I really wanted to to to talk about with you was just kind of your film study habits and and and do you consider yourself a student of the game MH yep yeah definitely you know so you're 6 foot2 right around what that I think we said last time the 215 Mark yeah um you know I and when I talked to you initially you know I told you I felt like to me you were more like a mobile pocket passer um you have the the legs to extend plays you have the legs to make some plays here and there when you need to get yourself out of trouble when you have to but I didn't really see necessarily as a true dual threat a guy that runs as much as he throws um do you kind of feel like that's that's where you fit categorically yeah um you know unfortunately I wasn't I wasn't uh given the gift of being able to put my hand in the ground and run a you know 44 or 43 um you know that's something I'm definitely working on is you know really getting you know get getting that explosiveness being able to get my acceleration up to my top speed you know quicker I've always felt like I've had a pretty solid top speed um but you know I just you know I I think it's I don't think it's fair to you know guys like Lamar Jackson who are true dual threats to consider myself a dual threat you know I'm not I'm not as talented as he is you know running the ball um you know but I'll tell you what when you know when the time comes where I you know I've got to run the ball um I'm running it and I nobody's gonna stop me you know you know I'm gonna make the play however I need to and you know I'm not I'm not a 4-3 guy four4 guy um but I I'll find a way you know I'm not I'm not a true dual threat but you know I can I can make something happen especially when I need to so absolutely absolutely that was kind of the first take I had on your film and I told that that I thought you were more what would be defined as a mobile pocket passer not so much a a true quote unquote dual threat so yeah um what are you currently doing for an offseason program to prepare yourself for the first potential professional opportunity and that's kind of a loaded question because what I what I'm hoping that you'll talk about is how many days a week are you training what are you focused on each day um talk a little bit about your nutrition program if you've got a certain plan that you're working with uh talk a little bit about flexibility program what kind of things do you do to ensure that you stay as limber and flexible as possible and then lastly talk a little bit about recovery what what things are you um what things are you fond of whether it be acupuncture cupping cryotherapy e stem treatment massages chiropract whatever talk bit about those particular pieces of your offseason program gotcha yeah so uh currently I'm training um generally five to six days a week um you know four of those days are uh pretty dedicated to the weight room two of them are going to be you know lower body explosive days and other you know the other two are going to be kind of upper body variations um whole emphasis is really trying to stay explosive and you know trying to get you know get fast I guess get more explosive also um you know the fifth and sixth day um generally you know I spend a bunch of time I I usually partner my lower body days with also Sprint work um so that kind of goes hand inand um but you know the fifth and the sixth day are generally pretty active recovery days if you will so uh you know whether I'm out coaching or you know you know um you know if it's a weekend and I happen to be you know we go you know go up the canyon go for a long walk staying mobile getting a lot of Mobility stretching um that type of thing in um I generally don't have a day where you know even if I'm on that 7eventh day which generally happens to be a Sunday um it's not like hey we're just going to go lay around on the couch all day you know it's and there's still stuff to be done and most of the time that's you know I spend a good you know half hour hour you know on some you know rolling out recovery you know getting um using you know a massage gun and getting kind of into that deep tissue work um again still getting out for you know a long walk to make sure I'm still moving around um but yeah so it's it's generally pretty structured uh for the four days in the weight room have have a pretty solid program that I'm following um lower body days as I said I really really match those up with kind of more of a track Sprinter workout and then the upper body days I really put an emphasis on plyo care um weighted throwing balls to really keep my arm uh healthy increase the arm strength and you know all all those you know good things and um one thing that you know in regard to kind of diet nutrition that I've really been you know reading into and trying to follow as best as I can has been um the tb12 method you know I'm a lot like you where you know as as a guy who he was a lifelong Broncos fan you know Payton Manning came in towards the end of his career I love Payton Manning um you know as as a team that was constantly playing the Patriots um didn't love Tom Brady yeah but you know regardless of how you feel to play for as long as he did there he's obviously doing a lot of things right and so you know I was I've been reading his book and really following figuring out how how to increase longevity you know how how to stay you know in your Prime for as long as possible and um so you know it's it's been a process to learn and you know and I you know like I said with you know film I I love the preparation I love the you know the processes that we go through to you know figure things out so um you know I know it's kind of it was kind of a a longer answer but you know there's there's I don't think that there's just one specific answer on how to talk about what my you know offseason program is because there's so many different things that go into it and there's so many different aspects that you know can make a guy successful so I try and I try and do as much as I can with the time that I have so yeah absolutely and I appreciate whatever answer you give and it's not a you're right it's not a a a one answer fits all for everybody because everybody's different you know um when I ask you know to to highlight certain parts of that offseason whether it's recovery or flexibility you know a lot of guys are doing yoga because that's kind of the new thing and and um you know and we get into recovery you know one guy may say you know I really like cing or uh I'm a East them guy some people are like oh I love massages and and Ice baths or everybody's got their own way of doing things and so I always like to kind of talk about what you you've come up with that works for you you know um so yeah I mean I appreciate whatever answer you give with that um you know in on the football field there's typically two types of leaders there's the uh more silent uh lead by example come to work lunch P kind of guy um that just does his job and and leads by example uh then you obviously you have the more loud boisterous uh Rah ra type Leaders The Ed Reeds the ray lewises the talkers basically um the talkers that back everything up with action um which type of leader are you and why do you feel that way yeah um you know I I'm gonna break your rule here I think I'm gonna say I I might have traits of both you know as a quarterback I I truly believe that you're you know you're extension of the team but you're also an extension of the coaching uh staff so I think there's times where you know I got to get my guys going like I got you know I gotta I gotta be vocal I gotta be loud I gotta get them up I gotta get them motivated um there's also times where I probably need to shut up and let Coach talk you know I need to put my head down and you know finish this workout or you know finish our conditioning or you know whatever it is um I think that you know there's times there's a time and a place for both um and I think it can be you know I think sometimes you know if you're as a coach i' I've seen this more um now that I've be begun training guys privately is you know you never want a guy as a quarterback to be too quiet lead by example because if you feel like you're having to pull pull teeth to get them to you know communicate with their guys it's going to be an issue you know or if you've got a guy who's almost too loud he's too you know you you have to like reel him in to you know whether you have to make sure he's not getting a personal foul for taunting or something like that you know I think there's there's a good having a good mixture of those two knowing when you need to be vocal knowing when you need to get these guys going also knowing when hey like it's time to it's time to strap it up and show what I can do and lead and just you know go get things done right absolutely um obviously you know you did private training and that obviously falls in the realm of community service and and and giving back are there other things community service wise that either you're involved in or maybe you've identified that you want to become involved in at some point if you become a professional athlete things that you've said you know I'd like to get involved and and Lead my mark in that area is there anything in particular that comes to mind or things you've thought about yeah uh definitely you know there's been you know through through the teams I've been a part of there's been numerous times where I've been you know blessed with the opportunity to go out and kind of help people out in the community whether it's you know we go and you know go clean up uh an entry to the freeway you know there's a lot of trash out there and we go clean it up make it look nicer or you know we go to a local elementary school and you know kind of go out and you know play at recess with the kids throw the ball around with them a little bit um you know there's you know if given the the right opportunity I would love to be able to kind of give back I feel like as a guy who you know whether it's been you know from my family or from my friends or the community I feel like I've been uh very well supported in my journey um and I don't think I would ever be able to truly thank people through words with how much their support is meant to me and so being able to kind of go back and you know and give back to these people would be um something that I wouldn't just think about it's something that I would uh you know I would kind of demand myself to do you know I've you know for someone who's been given so much you know I too must give so yeah yeah I agree um I was going to ask you know you talked about your grandfather helping you with with college and and stuff um did did you has the thought ever come across your mind like if you get to a point maybe I don't know creating some kind of um you know third party scholarship type program to where you can help athletes that were in your same situation you know where you kind of need that helping hand while you kind of Chase your dream you know um at a place that you know maybe they can't financially handle it on their own have you ever thought about anything like that or yeah um honestly ly I haven't I haven't put I you know I I don't feel like I could honestly say that that thought was 100% mine you know you know there's been there's been thought processes kind of similar to that but sure now that now that you're putting that that thought in my mind you know that I think that would be you know a great thing to be able to do especially with the new nil rules you know there's going to be you know whether it's through you know my private quarterback training or you know seven on seven teams that I help out with there's going to be guys are talented enough to play that probably aren't going to get the scholarship opportunities um and you know thinking back on my situation if if there was a way that I would have been able to you know if somebody would have been able to help me out you know that probably would have made a huge difference in my journey um so I think that is that's that's a wonderful idea that you that you've kind of now given to me um so that's that's definitely something that I would you know I would I would like to be able to do you know I think providing opportunities for so many people um I don't know that there's more there's anything more fulfilling than being able to help people out so that's definitely something I'd want to do you know as a military veteran you know the fir the of course I came in under the old Montgomery GI Bill and and it's where you serve a contract and you're giving College money in return a kind of a benefit but it didn't cover all the necessary tuition say like I wanted to go to the University of Tennessee my aunt got a degree on education there she was a teacher uh I'm a lifelong vs fan grandfather was recruited by in the 1950s um that was always a dream of mine to if nothing more to get a degree and be able to say I was an alumni from there but the GI Bill didn't cover it so I ended up at middle Tennesse State uh kind of as a second choice and so um I was always researching programs online for veterans to you know different scholarship programs and what I ran across was you know there's women's exil uh auxiliary uh scholarship programs um uh I Information Technology programs if you want to do this or do that or um there's just all these random kind of thirdparty scholarship programs I guess you would say uh for this program or that program and and I guess when you when you mentioned that you know you were at Southern Utah and you know you were you know you were a walk- on and and couldn't really necessarily handle the financial burden and your grandfather's helping you it just kind of thought crossed my mind like I don't know that I've ever seen an athlete turn pro and put themselves in a situation where they can set up like a random third party kind of athlete scholarship so to speak for a kid that's a walk- on that needs a little help to kind of keep them in school to help him continue to chase that dream uh and so yeah I just I don't know thought crossed my mind I figured I'd throw it out there and ask you um it's not something I've ever thought about you you just what your answer to that question kind of sparked yeah the thought process and so um but yeah uh who do you look up to yeah um uh you know I might it might be cheesy to say but you know definitely my parents um you know I think I kind of alluded to the fact before that you know there's been decisions that I've made in my journey that you know maybe weren't the best overall you know that in in hindsight it maybe wasn't the best decision to make um but man they they've been by my side the entire time you know when I made it hard you know whether I because I was stubborn and I just like hey I'm gonna I'm going to go the Yuko route I'm gonna make it work you know yeah I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna be 13 hours away from home and you guys probably aren't going to see me until December but I'm gonna go make it work um you know or you know the time when you know when you know my career got hard you know or you know even at the highest points of my career you know they're always there and you know they've always handled things with so much maturity and they've always been there for me um I don't I don't think there's you know I I feel very fortunate because I know there's there's a lot of you know a lot of teammates I've had and a lot of guys that I've played against who probably don't have the same situation as me you know who probably didn't have you know either you know both parents at home or maybe even they don't have any parents around um so I feel very fortunate to have parents who have been so great and so supportive of me um I've learned so much from them um they're not you know I don't feel like I again I don't feel like I can express my thanks to them just through words you know it's they they've done so much for me so much more than I could ever even ask for um you know and that's one thing that I've always wanted to be able to do is you know if I make it you know playing football I want to you know I want to go go home pay off their house you know go retire them go let them go do whatever they want to do just as a thank you for you know they've done so much for me there's you know there I don't feel like there's two people on this Earth that have done more for me who have supported me through you know all the good times but you know all the stupid decisions I've made and you know the you know you know the times I've made it hard for them to support me um they've always done it without a doubt so my parents I definitely look up to them all right being that you're a QB M who do you model your game after on the field I mean obviously there's so many great QBs that have come along in the past and great QBs you know in the recent you know in the recent past more past past and and even you know current present day who do you model your game after yeah um you that's a that's a tough tough tough one to answer um you know there's guys like Aaron rod that I absolutely love but you know I feel like I I feel like I take on a little bit more of a of a baker Mayfield mentality um you know he at one point his his career was a walk-on um has kind of been been the underdog many times in his career and for me that's been easy to relate to um I love the way he plays he plays you know everything is 100 miles an hour effort's always there that's something I admire and something I really feel like I've um kind of come into as a player is is that hardnose mentality that you know hey I'm I'm a quarterback but I'm not you know I'm not afraid to get get my hands dirty like I'm gonna go out and play I'm gonna go out and you know I'm gonna be intense I'm gonna give out as much effort as I have to give um you know I'm gonna I'm gonna throw that thing all over the yard and you know I'm G get my guys the ball and you know when we score when we score we're going to go crazy and you know we're going to work our butts off and know everything that we can do um I really feel like you know baker has been a guy that I've kind of related to um and it's kind of a it's kind of an energy and an attitude that I really like so understood completely we're gonna kind of wrap up on this because I know you got things you got to get done here um when the cleats are finally hung up for the final time you know whether it's your body says hey this is your stopping point or you make the decision okay I'm done I'm ready to move on to something new what are where does Brooks go what is your dreams and goals and plans after football what what do you have in mind that you want to accomplish next yeah so um you know I finished up school here in December I'm graduating you know with a financial planning degree um you know Finance I feel like is something that I've always you know because of experiences I've been through I've always wanted to get a better understanding of um and so I I see a I see a future in you know in the career of financial planning helping families you know with their finances you know growing wealth um accumulating wealth maintaining managing and preserving wealth um but the more and more I you know I get involved with training the more I know I'm going to be involved with sports somehow whether it's baseball whether it's football you know there's always going to be a part of me as a competitor as athlete that's going to you know have have a desire for that you know that taste of competitiveness so um you know it could be an offensive coordinator it could be a private quarterback coach for the rest of my career you know could be just a high school you know High School assistant whatever it is um I don't think that competitive side of me as an athlete will ever leave and I think I'll always be involved um somehow some way in sports um you know with my degree I I wanted something that was going to be applicable with no no matter what I ended up doing um so you know I I see I see many different paths um for me and I'm trying to you know prepare as if all of them are going to happen so that way with you know when one does happen I'm ready for it um so you know future for me you know whether whether I hang up my cleats tomorrow or whether it's in you know 10 15 20 years yeah um you know I want to be able to give back to people whether it's you know through football through baseball through you know through Finance helping people achieve their goals maybe helping you know families who have younger athletes in their family and they might not be able to afford school for them helping them figure out a way to make that happen you know I think I've talked about throughout the length of this interview how many times I've I've especially as of late as I've kind of grown up a little bit and maybe matured a little bit um I've recognized how many people have helped me out and that's something that you know at the time I maybe didn't realize how much of an impact that that help was for me but you know I look back on it I'm like wow like I don't know that I would have been able to get through that if I didn't have help from somebody even even if it was just some support so you know that's something that I would really like to be able to get involved in is just is helping people out whatever capacity it might be that's something I want to do we leave you leave we're going to leave this interview with this you know the NFL season is right around the corner here yeah uh college football's about to take off as well but what I want to ask you about because we're talking about you on your journey as a professional athlete you know I saw yesterday Bo Nicks has been named the starter with with Denver uh Jaden Daniels been named the starter uh um you got you know I'm not a fan of him I don't even like talking about it because guys just seems like a knucklehead but uh was it Caleb Williams with the Bears former UFC guy I'll just say that um henden hooker obviously starting to impress with Detroit now that he's getting some time to get on the field after his serious knee injury MH you've got Joe Milton in New England who seems to be beating out Drake May um at this point which QB that came through the draft and even as an undrafted free agent process which one do you expect to be kind of the breakout story or kind of the the um the one guy that maybe people were sleeping on or not really expecting to kind of make huge strides in their first true season as a as a Pro QB yeah um I think that's a great question um my answer might be a little biased as a as a Broncos fan um you know I think uh you know the more and more I've kind of followed you know certain things off the field and you know more off off the field interviews with you know Shawn pton and stuff um I think bonck has an opportunity to have a great year um I don't feel like the Broncos offense has given much credit for how much talent they actually have especially at the skill position level yeah um and you know I I watched you know I watched preseason um I saw how you know I watched the past few years with Russell Wilson and you know I've been watching I've been watching the Broncos for as long as I can remember but um especially compared to last year and the year before this offense that they have is a lot more Dynamic than it was you know last year with Russell Wilson and um you know I think one thing that Bon knck does does very well is you know when when a play breaks down he's able to kind of scramble and you know whether he ends up tucking the ball or not he's able to keep his eyes downfield and find a guy find a guy open he he you know he might not scramble and you know throw a 40 yard touchdown um but what he is doing is you know he's avoiding you know a seven eight yard loss on a sack and you know maybe they're only netting or maybe they're only G four yards but that's a net of you know 10 11 12 yards so I think B Knicks will probably have a really good year um I think that offense is gonna be a lot of fun to watch um I think Shawn pyton is a is a genius um he's a guy that I love you know learning from I loved when he was in um when he was with the Saints with Drew Brees um that was a very you know I'm I'm the type of guy that when when an offense is efficient and they're moving well it gets me really excited um so I think bonck with with the help of Shawn pton I think that uh I think that team is going to surprise a lot of people this year so I gotta real quick kind of want to slide this in as we as we close out because I as I was asking that question just kind of prompted me to to ask you this because it's a QB question I don't know how much you keep up with the CFL but Chad Kelly nephew of of Buffalo Bills great Jim Kelly yeah obviously he's had an up and down Creer he's had a lot of off the field issues CFL issued a a kind of a a statement or a letter the other day pertaining to his reinstatement to the league kind of a last chance agreement he has to sign if he wants to get back on the field what's your thought process on on his struggles and do you think he can do you think he's going to sign this agreement do you think he can kind of bounce back obviously he shot himself in the foot a lot I mean he's kind of the metaphoric or or figurative I guess uh statement or analogy I guess how you want to put that you know we always say you know shot yourself in the foot and and it's not even somebody else shooting him in the foot it's more like he kind of you know took the gun out of out of the imaginary person's hand and said here I'll do it myself yeah what do you think about his struggles and do you think he'll be able to to turn it around and finally resurrect his career and and and I guess bring some kind of football Glory back to the Kelly name I guess is how I want to put that yeah um you know this this one's this one is kind of a tough answer for me um you know being a guy who feel you know who feel you know like I like I probably ought to or I really hope that I can get an opportunity and you know I see guys who constantly are you know shooting themselves in the foot that you know seem to have a bunch of different opportunities it does get a little frustrating um but you know at the same time I understand people are human you know there are there are certain mistakes that I don't think are you know I think are inexcusable yeah um but you know as a human being you know you know I hope he can figure out I hope he can do it um you know I hope he can kind of you know realize that he is very talented you know he he does he does a lot of great things in the game of football but you know I hope that he can figure out how to act off the field you know um just as a human being I hope he can I hope he can do it you know I I'm not I'm not the type of person that you know wants to see other people fail um you know he was Chad Kelly I remember watching him when he was that old miss I remember watching him you know kind of when he was with the Broncos for a little bit and then I know he had some issues and um you know I don't think it's really a talent question with him I think it's more of you know can we count on this guy to be our franchise guy yeah um and you know unfortunately he obviously has some serious things off the off the field that have have really hindered his playing career um and you know I hope he can I hope he can figure things out and turn things around and um you know for the sake of his career and you know it'll probably be hard to get some of those you know some of the things he's been accused of to not always be attached to his name and you know that's just that's just the fact of you know being a professional athlete those things are always going to follow you but you know I hope he can figure things out and get to a position to where he's just you know he's good off the field they don't have to worry about him and he can just go out and play ball I think he is very talented and I he can you know I think he's stuck around professional football for so long because of his talent um but unfortunately you know there are things off the field and I hope he can figure those things out you he's been fortunate obviously with his uncle being who he is I think also that as much as people would like to say that's not a factor I think that maybe that's why he's gotten the second third fourth fifth chances that he's getting people don't want to give up on him just because of his uncle I think in a lot of ways and also because he is a talented QB um you know I do hope that he can turn it around and I hope that he can figure out that maybe I hope that he can have a reflective moment and he can say you know I really have been a knucklehead I need to kind of stop being a knucklehead and really take this seriously I've got one last chance to make this right you know uh I think it's unprecedented that a league has to uh put together kind of a last chance type of con contractual agreement not with a team but with the league level to where they got to say okay you got to sign this or you don't get back on the field you know um so I hope he turns it around but I wanted to ask you that very quickly as we close out yeah we've had viewers we're have we still have viewers if anybody wants to throw a last minute question that they'd like to hear Brooks answer an opportunity you like to put across the table please go ahead and do so now uh as I'm getting ready to close this thing out because Brooks has to go and I'm sure I probably already held him up longer than he wants to be held up so no big deal I appreciate your time thank you so much don't know what the deal is but I guess unfortunately the men upstairs is going to make me do some video editing today so um I'll uh I may just go and put together the best of both interviews and yeah if anybody watches this after today and you see Brooks wearing a white T-shirt one day and a red t-shirt the next day or whatever yeah it's a splice and a compilation of two interviews to make it right so hey I I think the man upstairs just wants to give you an opportunity to showcase your talents I'm not I'm not a professional podcaster please don't think that but I had this this Bright Idea one day few years ago that I want to do this piece to to add exposure and um you know I've got some some things coming along that partnering with some other sports podcasters that are probably a lot better at this than I am maybe I'll give them the floorida to make right what I can't seem to figure out so but we'll we'll get this thing straight and I I'll get a real good video interview up there for you and I won't waste any more of your time if anybody wants to reach you on social media what where can they find you what are your user handles which platforms yep I'm on I'm on Instagram on Twitter I'm trying to get like as we talked I'm trying to get back into my my Facebook account um I think generally you can find me just as Brooks ringer um but if you need to use like my app my handle um it's on there as Billy the Kid um kind of take on that I like that Gunslinger that Persona of a gunslinger so yep you find me on Instagram or Twitter and if you want to see Brooks's profile it's on our website that information scrolling and has been scrolling at the bottom of your screen through throughout the interview uh if there anybody that if there has been anybody watching if there is anybody that will watch that happens to be a business owner uh or someone in the upper senior part of a business or company or organization that would like to maybe uh extend Brooks a sponsorship or an endorsement type opportunity feel free to contact us through email DM uh phone call um let us know or you can reach out directly to Brooks as we've alluded to uh because obviously he's open to that as well as he chases his dream um we look forward to an opportunity coming along very soon obviously things are starting to pick up now as as we get in closer to September um I know I have no doubt that you're going to be back on the field very soon doing what you love to do and chasing that dream so just hang in there keep your head up stay positive keep grinding just know that we're working um this C intervie will be on his profile for viewing later on uh as I get this all as I do some video editing which is not my expertise but I'm gonna get it done and get Brooks taken care of so thank you so much I know you got class I hope I didn't hold you over too long or make you late um I will be in touch with you later on today or tomorrow let you know that I've spliced and done my new diligence with all this so thank you again I want to thank everybody for being here uh viewing likeing in I appreciate it we want the viewership we we want these guys to have a light on them um we look forward to the next interview uh I do have another one coming up later today so I look forward to seeing everybody back
