yeah uh I guess with uh Albert on that free kick that starts the scoring what's your thought process there I can't imagine that I mean I have to imagine it's just get it on frame but uh I mean it ends up being a pretty important goal obviously um yeah I mean I'll be honest um I felt a little bit more pressure taking the free kick than if um you know an actual goalkeeper was in was in goal because I kind of felt like um you know you have to score it's an outfield player you know it wasn't fair on him to go goal but it was the I guess the only solution that they had um and yeah the thought process was to was to hit the goal you know try and get some Pace on the ball um and you know aim for the you know towards the post and I'm just you know glad it went in and it U you know and we we took that lead right before before the the first half ended so you know it was uh yeah it was an important goal but all the goals you know I think the the second um was the most important one I would say cuz that really calmed the game down for us and uh and you know we had some some security there and then yeah the later goals um you know they were what they were what they were but um yeah it was you know I thought we did very well um I don't want to you know just talk about the goals but even playing 11 against 11 I thought we we stuck to the game plan uh we defended you know try to take away the middle of the field credit to them because they are um they are the best team in MLS and and uh and they've been proving that you know with their with their record and and everything they've won recently so even going down to 10 men you could see how they try to play and what they try to do um but you know I I think we were we were really good even with the with 11 men I guess along those lines does does the circumstances of the wind take anything away from you know the potential uh momentum you pick up from it or do you just yeah I mean Jordan shaking his head I'd love to hear from him on that no I don't think so I mean um again like Albert said I think uh uh when it was 11 on 11 I thought we were still playing well and this is a team whoever they put on the field obviously they were missing some guys we were missing a couple guys but whoever they put on the field they're they're a really well coached team a really good team with a lot of quality so I thought even when it was 111 we had the better chances I had a big chance obviously that I missed and um I think that we were we were doing really well and so um we can take a lot away from that and then you know obviously we earn the red card and then manage the game really well from there that's that's a really good team and I thought we came out with the right mentality the right uh intensity and um you know obviously yeah when it went down to 10 men the game was was different but we we we had a really good game and I think we can take Confidence from that coming off you know a tough loss in in Portland but it was massive for us to come here and get three points um because you know now a couple games have teams in hand on us but we jump jumped up the table and that's that's huge for us this time of year so um no I don't think it takes any of the momentum away three points in in a place like this is is huge thanks Jay Evans go ahead thanks congratulations on the win for sure yall what Jordan what um what happened I guess because it seemed like you didn't even see Romero uh you know coming at you so you know how do you feel now and and can you kind of walk through that that that part yeah I yeah I didn't see him at all um I was you know looking for looking at the ball and I think their Defender kind of got a touch on it or we kind of tried to get there at the same time and then I just felt him hit me I still really don't know what happened fortunately he just kind of hit whatever hit me hit me in the mouth and um obviously a little bit of a swollen lip but uh feel feel good um the normal pain you know on my nose and and mouth or whatever but um obviously avoided concussion which was the main concern I'm sure at that point and um you know obviously it helped the game get with them getting a red car but no I I don't really know what happened exactly I just kind of just kind of felt him felt him go through me so um yeah it was didn't didn't feel great but but doing doing well sorry um and then Albert this is your first uh from what I understand MLS hatrick I wanted to know if you've uh had that before or you know remember any kind of a game like this for you before um and then also on the second part of that you you kind of mentioned you know um the placement it seemed like ball placement still would have been challenging for any goalkeeper uh do do you think that that was the case or were you given a couple of goals there I guess yeah it is my first hattrick in the career not just in MLS um and um I haven't seen a GoBack I'll be honest and uh you know I I did feel like I hit it with the you know with a decent amount of pay so you know who knows you know that's for people to speculate now whether if there was a goalie they would save it or not um but you know it's um at the end of the day you know we you know we we try to come here for the three points um and and after the lafc and Portland losses um it was kind of important for us to get the result and whether that happened with a red card and no goalkeeper or you know whatever way it would have happened one Zer 4-0 it doesn't matter you know we like Jordan said at this that this time of the year it's it's about collecting points and when we play the final season uh final home game of the season and and final game in the season you know everybody's going to look at the standings and the points you know and you're not going to look back and be like you know where did you win where did you lose or what were the circumstances so you know I I don't want to take you know too much away from our performance even playing against 11 man and against s man um but yeah the result the result was uh was the most important things because uh there isn't many games left in the regular season and we're we're now sitting comfortably in a playoffs SP yeah you both kind of said this but and the business end how important is it just to let me put more ask a different way what kind of attitude do you all now need to have as you enter the playoffs on the business and of the schedule here uh I mean every game for us is like a playoff game at this point uh if you look at who we have left in the regular season it's all teams that are right around us for the most part you know maybe we have KC and San Jose I think but we play uh Colorado Houston Portland again um all teams that are in the fight with us so those are obviously huge swings to get three points in those games and um you know we have a a couple games I'm pretty sure coming up at home now right so it's a it's three yeah three games in a row at home now so it's important those three games are massive now you take them one at a time but they're all like they're all like playoff games and everyone at the at this point in the season is fighting to to get three points but those ones against the teams that that are right around us those are Sixpoint swings and that's that's massive at this point in the year so I think that's the the mentality of the group is every game is is almost like a playoff game yeah now but and as both your leaders but how do you keep the team focused on the one game at a time I mean we kind of all share the same mentality it's not just us two that H have this mindset you know everybody everybody's on the on the same page you know everybody is smart enough to look at the remaining games and and look at the table and you know figure out how much how many more points we need to to kind of secure a playoff spot but you know we also we also want to want to move as high up the table you know to to have a HomeField Advantage because you know we know that in in this league especially playing at home makes makes a big difference um and you know we would love to host as many games as possible kind of similar to last year you know uh host playoff games at L the field so um yeah it's you know we're not going to be satisfied even if we win you know the next one or the next two there is still six seven games left and it will be a mentality of one game at a time and you know I always say when you win don't get too high and when you lose you know you can't be too down games you know we will have to play regardless of the result the next game and then you know you know we lost the last two games but with a win like today you know you you kind of start a new streak going and uh and yeah we do have three three home games coming up you know so we'll be you know we'll be looking to yeah to to take nine points honestly thank you both reminder me if you'd like to ask a question please the hand conversations like the player or among the players like at halftime after the red card are you guys just trying to play this like a normal game or you saying put everything on target yeah for sure put everything on target with the with the you know a field player in goal um that was a conversation I think the conversation was to get the second goal um that would give us um you know obviously some a bit of a a cushion and feeling more comfortable because if they if they score obviously they can sit 10 or you know nine guys behind the ball and make it tough for us to to get a to get another goal so we knew if we if we got the second one the game was going to open up even more we could get three four which fortunately we did so the the message was the same as as before um but obviously different guy in goal we yeah you know we were trying to just get our our our shots on Target and put him under pressure thanks Jeremiah I'll let I'll let you close us out here yeah Jordan I don't know if uh if you knew this or not but I guess that was your 15th goal of the season that's a career high for you uh I don't know is that does that feel like something at this point does that feel like a like a big achievement for sure yeah absolutely um you know I set myself goals at the beginning of every year of um kind of what numbers I want to hit and and for me obviously moving up to playing that number nine position that's what's expected of of a nine right is to is to score goals and um help your team team win games so um I'm obviously happy with with with that you know again it comes down to the the the ball you know Paul he gave me a great ball in the first half that I wasn't able to finish and he gave me another really good one in the second half um that I was fortunately able to finish so it all comes down to the the group and and um how we we help each other but yeah that's obviously definitely something that's a a a big you know honor and what what fuels me I've said it before is is I I like to you know be a goal scorer and and help the team team win with that but um yeah so it's cool to have that that Mark and and have pass that um at this point in my career but my goal is to to keep going and try to try to score some more goals this year and help the team team win trophies so um we got a lot to lot to look forward to
