Allen has impressed a lot of people since being drafted out of Wyoming in 2018 but that didn't stop him from being the most overrated player in the NFL according to an ESPN poll that was taken by 103 of his peers notably Allen was also voted the best trash talker in the league the bills have been in the playoff mix consistently with Allen but haven't been able to get over the momes challenge okay Kimberly you got this one first is this something or nothing that Allen was voted the most overrated quarterback by his peers this is such a nothing Burger I this is such a nothing Burger I disagree there are 11 103 let's do the math y'all 103 guys 11 voted him most overrated so 92 people had some sense I guarantee between Mina you me Daman there's 11 people out there who don't like us Stephen a for sure we do not care we do not care way more than 11 we do not care all of us you know like that and and wish was 11 for me know seriously that'd be great odds so it you know okay I didn't know the 11 part the I didn't know that it was just 11 yeah now the the the sad thing is is that even any of his contemporaries would pick him is ludicrous to me and I think it's some guys who feel some kind of way when he's barreling down the Lan and he bowls you over or he's beating you it like on a last second hail Berry touchdown this guy he's to me he's the top two top three quarterback in the NFL yeah so when you are at that level we don't we don't worry with what other people say please Mina you know I I think kimly makes a great Point first of all about the actual numbers here uh they were very split between the overrated votes and you know the thing about overrated underrated is you have to start from the premise of what is the rating I suspect perhaps some of these players thought hey why do we keep putting him in or why do some people put him in the same conversation as Patrick Mahomes given their head-to-head record and how that's gone and I would agree with that if you're putting Josh Allen in the same tier as Patrick Mahomes then he's overrated but anything other than that I completely disagree and and I think what bothers me most about the Allen discourse generally um is he's kind of mischaracterized as being this Boomer bust quarterback when the reality is he's actually been ruthlessly efficient he has developed so much as an underneath passer taking his games in fact over the last three seasons he based on success rate which is basically down to- down efficiency has been better than Patrick Mahomes than Joe Bro the bills offense has been the most efficient offense in football so while he sometimes is reckless with the ball and throws interceptions and we focus on those I believe to a disproportionate amount he has been not only incredibly explosive he has the big plays he has also been efficient too and I think that gets lost in the shuffle let's focus on 11 folks that decided to call him overrated with their ignorant ass s that don't make any sense whatsoever this is a guy that's had 48 wins over the last four years um when you look at his 173 total touchdowns passing rushing receiving that's 23 more than anyone else during that time period in a four-year span um and in the most in NFL history this is who we're talking about here we talking about a guy that's 0 and four in Playoff starts against Patrick Mahomes and Joe burrow but five- one against everybody anybody else and he's been to an AFC Championship game and a couple of divisional playoff games he doesn't deserve that kind of label being overrated which begs the question why would anybody think to do such a thing now me personally I'm just speculating there is no reporting here I don't know all I'm doing is reading the tea leaves and paying attention to the kind of verbi that was put out there Stephen tell them in the months you sure these 11 players ain't cool with Stefon digs his former wide receiver who wanted out and is now a member of the Houston Texans and also watched as Jos Josh Allen was like Hey man we gonna be just fine I wish him nothing but the best but wouldn't even say he missed him is sure I'm just wondering this is why Stephen A needs to be developing TV shows they're count down to get up and the Jamar Chase contract Saga has taken a very interesting turn so he participated in practice earlier this week and Chey said it was just a walk through he warned us Zack Taylor the coach of the Bengals said oh yeah his star receiver should be ready to go then Jamar Chase showed up to practice in Street Clos yesterday and he was the coach after that is is it fair to say when you talk to us yesterday that it was your expectation that he would be he would go the rest of I I think I probably put my foot in my mouth speaking too quickly and it's just again this is a day-to-day situation we'll just keep seeing it as that I'm not gonna lie to you I mean we're laughing that is something I have heard very few times in 30 years covering the National Football League is a coach backing off of something like that and saying I put my foot in my mouth that the dynamic of that was really interesting what is going on with Jamar Chase I'll start with you uh apparently all is not well in Cincinnati not well is it time to panic I'm going to this time next week I will be panicking we still got a week I think this you have a franchise it's like two immovable objects right you got a franchise that historically does not pay people before they want to they're known for being cheap you got Jamar Chase two years left on his deal understanding I'm making minimum wage out here and I'm doing the most uh he deserves to be paid you're watching as you said Daman you laid out all the other wide receivers who've gotten paid at this point Zack Taylor is is caught in the middle like please somebody because he's out there on the field the team tweeted out posted social media videos of Jamar in practice and everybody said okay Zach Taylor comes out and says oh yeah I expect him to practice the rest of the week and Jamar says oh you think so yeah no no chance Hew I'm trying to read that look on your face man Jamal Taylor was like Jamal Chase was like oh yeah watch this watch Watch How I pull this thing here because again that man is serious about his money I mean do people on sh this man Jamal Chase has been since he stepped foot on the field in the National Football League has been one of the best wide receivers in the game and he has literally sat back and watched his LSU buddy Justin Jefferson get the bag he's watched Tyreek Hill get the bag he's watch all of these receivers get the bag and he sit back and saying why in the world even with 2 years left of my deal why in the world should I step on the field making what I'm making when them guys are making 25 million a year more than I more than I am why so I put on the John Lynch hat earlier now with Jamar you don't let's say you do the Chris Jones you go the Chris Jones route and you say you know what I'm not showing up week one watch what y'all do without me now as a as a team you're like hey bro ownership will say you're not a selfish guy fans are looking at you like why are you not out there like the like why are you missing time I think teams lean on that and I think players in the past have acques I think this is a PIV this might be a watershed moment I feel like there's so many guys right now who are fed up with their contracts and are trying to get ahead of it and trying to get the money I wonder how many teams will fold here's the only thing I'm going to say for the Bengals who have historically been one of the most frugal and I will use that Frugal that is the word Frugal the the the the kindest word I can think of to put on it what are the Chan that the value of a great wide receiver are going to go down in the future that's the problem the chances are zero right so what what what's F's line again yesterday's price is not today's price and that's going to be the case next year so if you wait till next year you're going to want up paying Jamar Chase more the only factor that comes in the middle of all of that is the risk that he gets seriously hurt because when a quarterback gets seriously hurt he still gets his money and when a wide receiver gets seriously hurt he may not not so I have no issue with Jamar Chase saying I'm not stepping foot on that field without a bag Harry Douglas what do you think no I agree with you wholeheartedly Grinny and the sad part about it is that we look at the Cincinnati Bengals and we deem them as Super Bowl contenders when we know Joe burrow is healthy and Jamar Chase is the number one wide receiver if I'm Mike Brown the owner I'm not playing with that I'm not wasting a Year Joe Burl's time while he's on my roster and making all this money to not have Jamar Chase be there and they can win the AFC North and contend for a Super Bowl what we've known in the four years that Joe burrow has been the quarterback in the three years that Jamar Chase has been there is that when Joe Burrow's healthy and Jamar chase is on the football field they were able to get to a Super Bowl and beat M Patrick Mahomes the only team to do that I should say Joe BR the only quarterback to do that outside of Tom Brady in the playoffs and then they made a AFC Championship game the other year so why would I want to mess up that chemistry why would I want to play with that and and and risk Jamar Chase disrupting what we want to happen this season from an overall standpoint and that's you know winning the leardi trophy it's it's a no-brainer you're talking about a guy that's Dynamic he's a matchup nightmare he told y'all he's 7-Eleven and damn it I love 7-Eleven cuz I used to go get Slurpees from there when I used to uh be in floor all the time with my family if the man say he's 7-Eleven and the film shows you he's 7-Eleven and we know the chemistry that Jamar Chase and Joe burrow have give him his money so y'all could be Super Bowl contenders I'm not playing with fire like that my mama told me growing up son don't
