a Manhunt continues across thousands of hectar of forest authorities in the US state of Kentucky are continuing to search for Joseph couch a 32-year-old man who is alleged to have shot five people on Saturday investigators say couch fired a semi-automatic rifle from three different places on a cliff ledge overlooking cars below the shooting took place on the side of an interstate highway about 15 km north of the city of London Police are using drones helicopters and sniffer dogs in their search efforts we're still looking at every lead there's nothing to say that he has left the area but we're dealing with the National Force it's not like we're dealing with behind your backyard in the woods we're dealing with the National Force and you know we're going to we're going to go as long as we can till we find Mr couch couch has now been charged with five counts of attempted murder and 5 counts of first-degree assault the events that took place here over the weekend have shocked the community local schools have been closed this week and residents are being told to be aware and cautious warning that couch should be considered armed and dangerous be vigilant if you see something say something if you hear something give us a call if your your animals barking weird if uh before you go home check your ring camera you know check your security cameras uh make sure somebody's home with your children um cuz we want to make sure everybody body stay safe in in our community many people in the community remain on edge it is scary cuz we never would have thought that this would have happened so close to home with us always seeing the news about school shootings and all the other shootings that happen around we would have never thought that something like this would have happened so close to home investigators say cou legally purchased the automatic rifle used in the attack as well as 1,000 rounds of ammunition on the day of the shoot both the gun and the ammunition have been recovered although the motive is not clear authorities believe it was a random attack and they hope couch will decide to surrender peacefully danam Williams cgtn London Kentucky
