Would you think it was a work day know the cause of being the guest
going to Joint prices? You know, we have to get ready a
little quicker. So we took a little while for us, you know,
kind of get in the zone but you know, once we got warmed up
moving around started to practice on you know, it started
to get a little bit competitive. So it was fun to be
out there obviously going against another team. So you got a
little bit of action, but overall feel like there's a good
day. What do you personally? For me, it's just just like a
small step until you get ready for the season, you know, watch
a film on the opponent, you know, just getting my study
habits, right? Like I would for a season and taking the right
notes can the right things and practice but you know, once we get there
on the field, we're just out there competing, you know, just
trying to you know show our best and execute. Yeah, I mean it starts no puts a
lot of stress on this and that's what we want, you
know is all cover one. So, Instead of you know, just going
the traditional No 1 on 1 DB linebacker running back battles.
You just do 707 with cover one. So is it hard? Yes. This is the first thing that we
have to do. Yes, but you know, you don't
want to make that an excuse, you know, you know, you know
live up to that standard because you know gonna be a lot
of third and shorts and critical dolls where we're going
to be recovered want to have to get off the field. So we just got to use as the
same mentality. Possible. I'm sure some players
or teams good feel that way. But at the end of the day, you
know all guys want to go out there and put their best best effort forward put the best no play on tape going against, you know, a
better offense or better defense. That's in the league.
Usually guys going to be a little more anticipated for
that or going against a certain player. I'm a certain position.
But at the end of the day, you know,
you want to you want to set that challenge, you know,
when we go anywhere and what his home away or indifferent
know when we when we step out on the field, we hold that standard we've
proven our standard to, you know, try to be the best defense
in the league and you have to go out there and do it
every day. What are you talking about? It's kind of what's your It's on the preseason as a
veteran as well like far as the game. So yeah. I mean it's kind of is what it is. You
know, no no, like I say no The Joint prices
are cool when you're when you're at home, obviously a
little bit easier, but when you go away, no, you have to know adjust to certain things.
I'm you do you don't get you're saying schedule that you would
when you get ready for practice. So there's just no for me. I don't
try to make a big deal about it. I'm at the point now where I'm
not even really planned in the preseason game. So these
joint practices are like my game
day. So it's really just me, you know
getting my body and you know, Mental condition getting ready for the season. So just try to find a positive out
of it, you know, whether know some stuff is unnecessary some
things that we need. It's definitely jar reaction,
especially in practice because you know that you can you can be worn by
the coach for practice. But obviously, you know, the it's a
little bit more serious in the game far as the finding, you
know, getting kicked out of the game. So and practice is just you just
got to try to control it. But yeah, it's sometimes you can't
control those emotions. Sounds I'm you know, obviously
you want to do your best to protect everybody but you know,
I need this type of practice if you want to be able to protect
yourself and your teammates. So, you know, it's a thin line
between are doing the right thing and you know protecting
yourself. I feel you has you know, I we
have a really good defensive line. So the couple times in
their way you have to really get out of the pocket and makes
and make some moves make some. Was on the missing
throw on the run, but I was doing a lot of you
know covering so I have my back turned a lot. So they did a lot of no
misdirection boot. So now obviously he's a quarterback
that's mobile. So he's always been able to you know, get out
of pocket and make plays so, you know long as they know
keep the running game steady. I think he's gonna do to make
some plays and on the back end. Don't really have an opinion.
You know, he hasn't he hasn't been here. So I mean is we
haven't really talked about it as a you know, the defensive
unit. It hasn't really come up on I
are you know, we're getting
ready noticed all season, you know was
getting ready for a training camp training camp
here now get ready for the season. So I mean no
disrespect but it's just
something that that's not really our Focus
because we got to get ready for the season so When when he comes
if he comes, you know, we're going to be here going to
be the same people and you know, you just have to adjust
them alarm really quick on you know, what we have to do, but if not, I was just is what it is all great. Talk about what have you seen from him this
year compared this first two years. Well, his competitive is always
been there, you know, his style of play has always been there.
She also saw that today, but you know, he's just you just
taken he's He's just taking his role
to the next level, you know, the first two years. It was kind
of Learning System. Learn how to know really make his maker style
to come to life in his defense. But at this point now,
you know, people know what he's gonna bring to the table and another thing, you know,
he's a good special teams player as well. So you can't
take that from him, but when it comes to him getting on the line
of scrimmage, his mentality is is contagious. He's back there making plays
throwing a tight end to the runner back and Run game and
now he's been developing this past game as well. So now the
sky's the limit for Him along as we you know, keep
them on the field keep his head keep his hair calm and I do
those type of things in the game then, you know, you can
do something great. Will McDonald What are the biggest thing with
him was you know him getting the strength? Obviously just
because he's a he's a smaller defensive end. But you know, you've been putting it
all on tape this whole training camp when the past been
on, you know in the past been knocking been working on,
you know, saying is edges and doing the right things
technically without the past. So when obviously it's a little
hard to do in the preseason with limited reps and you know
the timing and all that but you know when a season cause
we're going to be dependent on them, so just going
to keep pushing him and he's motivated. To you know to
make his place and get out there and make a name for
yourself. You know getting my reps, but as you get older you have to be
smart. So I mean, I'm no spring chicken anymore. So it takes me
a good hour to get warmed up and get out there and go so it just, you know, it's a
respect thing, but, you know, just a part of you know,
understanding. And it is to be playing and be
fast and be healthy now December January compared to you
know, taking every single snap right now. So sometimes I want to be out there
where you know, the coaches pulled me out and
they'll cuz I'm on a rep count, but just got to understand the
bigger picture. Yeah, it's been it's been
creeping up. You know, it's just a just natural, you know,
you get older, you know, you understand the League's not for
long, you know coming up on, you know,
the second end of my contract. So I'm not thinking too far ahead.
But you know just understanding, you know how this
game goes. But now I'm on the team. I'm in an organization
that respect me and I respect him a lot and
we're trying to you know do something great here. So my focus is obviously this
season and no trying to bring something
great to back. To the house. I was really the first atomic
question. I got ya.
