Clemson, Golf Carts, And National Championships Kavon what's up man what's up how you doing I'm blessed man how y'all doing yeah feeling good how's it going you golfing huh you golfing I'm watching right now I am okay okay okay I'm not playing well wait are you a golfer n no I just I just know about the carts because I used to take them tell us about that what do you mean n at school at school we had a lot of uh in Clemson it's a lot of golf course courses and stuff so you having little golf carts you know as players be taking them sometime sounds like a nice school at SC I had to walk everywhere oh no we had scooters bikes we had everything hey if you guys start talking SC and Clemson we won't even get to any Seahawk stuff I mean oh a long story I'm I only lost one game from a sec uh school one I lost one game in my three two years 25 and one at at USC K on we we need something cleared up so the internet which everybody believes as fact says you're a onetime national champion I thought you were there in 16 as well I was right I had I had DW his sen his junior year I think whatever but his last year I was there my true freshman year and I wasix internet we got to get that under control two times oh dude I know I look you know there's you know some people I'm not going to name names but it rhymes with dreet bavn he don't matter the fact I got two so we good that's actually true Kon uh Journey to the Seahawks and His Passion for Football welcome to Seattle man first year with the team I mean how's it feel going through your first camp and what's this team like so far it's been amazing man um to to finish my fifth Camp healthy going into the season it's a blessing and to do it with the the the group of guys that I'm doing it with even better um I get to watch Jud and love and ran Jenkins and I watch a lot of safety film I'm a football Guru so I watch a lot of safety film and watching those guys when Jin was on the Jaguars and love was on the Giants just you know trying to take a little bit away from the game and add it to mind or whatever it is but it's been great to to learn from those guys and see those guys perform at a high level and it It ultimately brought me up to that high level as well to to go out there and perform and no drop off man it's it's been amazing being out here at Seattle um the type of team that we have the things that we got grooming it's gonna be a special year man I'm telling you is that kind of went into that what went into that decision to sign here the Players new coaching staff things like that uh everything goes into it uh the the people um the staff um the organization um for me it was between here and the Giants so um had to look at you know cost of living where I rather be you know stuff like that so a lot of that played into part but um ultimately I just gave it to God um God told me this is this is gonna be my new home so you know just follow the suit that's a great Point Kon it's like some guys just they only look at on field they don't look at how it affects the family how it affects your whole world right yeah my lady yeah my lady is from New York too so she wasn't a big fan of the Giants so um that that played a little part too well introduce yourself to Seahawks fans then what what's a word one word to describe Kavon Wallace's game passion um a guy is very very passionate about the game um very very vocal uh very very high energy um with high effort um high-spirited just just anything where it got to do with something positive you know I I feel like uh being in year five I've grown and matured in levels uh that I could never imagine and it's it's been very very special for for myself to to see the growth and to always get better um if you go back and look at my numbers and my stats I've always gotten better numbers always went up and I'm Overcoming Adversity and Personal Growth just trying to continue that you know I'm trying to just do whatever I can for my defense where' that come from you said you spoke I mean I can hear it in your voice the maturity the appreciation the Gratitude where that positivity that attitude where where where can you give credit to because you know we have to learn it somewhere like what what was the biggest force or factor that helped you get that perspective I would definitely say the number one thing that definitely helped me was experience um going through so many different emotions um going through you know losing the Super Bowl going through U being a backup as a rookie when you feel like you can play um it's it's so many things that that I've came across throughout my career that kind of molded me into the man I am today um a lot of stuff that you just got to take on the chin I just was at the Cardinals this past season and I played at a very high level for six games and they released me you know and that was a a shock for me you know and I had to you know check myself in the mirror you know cuz a lot of stuff that I do I put on myself and it's all about how you handle it I went out there in Tennessee got claimed and um it only took me two weeks to to go out there and start for them guys and to play at a high level so it's just be great where your feet are um I I didn't start until my senior year high school um I didn't start until my junior season of Clemson so I've you know had to to to fight so many different battles man to to work my way up to the top so it humbles you and it lets you know like the experience is is going to take you long you know take you far in life well Seahawk fans are Seahawks Defense and Personal Goals excited to have you man looking for a big year from you I could tell we're pumped about that um what about this defense specifically though has it poised to just be a really special defense in this league Mike McDonald um the the stuff that he has for these offenses um this year is is something special um I feel like you know his his resume speaks for itself um what he brings to the table on the way he attacks the quarterback the where he goes after the number one receivers um it's so many different things that you can expect from him um so it's hard to game playing against and I I've I've kind of been used to that uh being with Coach venerables out in Clemson and all the stuff that he had for us as a defense so um it's kind of the same here he he he allows his safeties to make plays he allows his Corners to make plays [ __ ] make plays everybody just it's it's it's a defense you know he he he gets the entire defense involved um yes he sh uh yes he pinpoints certain players um as far as us on the defense to to make certain plays but overall he's he's just trying to win um he's trying to you know put us in the best position to go out there and and expose the offense I feel like we're gonna do a lot of that this year's to five defense for sure yeah what's the mood in the building what's the energy like going into week one like it's like what I'm bringing right now high energy guys are super excited to to go out there and let it spin go out there and let it you know just just be who we are um I feel like we had a very very competitive training camp um I felt like we had great work in the pre season to to to see like what we can be and what we can be is something that I don't feel like anybody expects not even ourselves I think we be way better than what even think well we know you guys are gonna be looking good how about those throwback uniforms man you see the Hat yeah throwback hat yeah I'm all for the royal blue and the silver man this this dope with the Kelly Green yeah got the hair masching it too yeah I know it's gonna be awesome go ahead lo oh no just everything you're speaking man I love it I love watching you play I think you know even just you said the one word to describe you passion I think you know that's something that you can't teach that and so I loved hearing about the journey and then I just didn't know how much we had in common you know two-time National Champion so respect right and then also I lost the Super Bowl I'm sorry I know that but it just drives you right it drives you so uh I just wanted to say welcome to Seattle so grateful that you're here because okay my one question though is what is your favorite thing to do on the field like is it a sack interception big hit because I mean I saw the boom saw the headit um nothing really feels better I haven't had a pick six in the NFL yet so I don't know exactly how that feels as far as the NFL level but but uh pick six is I I feel like the is the the key point because not only is an interception but you also putting points on the board for your team any way you can put points on the board just by yourself um is is something dope and something special and it's it's a feeling that I feel like is is the highest as far as like achievements on the defense for sure oh hey man brother like and I I love hitting guys though I love I love yeah they gotta they gotta feel me out there yeah like when you get that big hit and then you know you never want to see a guy hurt but when you see a guy slow to get up from you know the thing you cause it's it's dope but it's a clean hat and like football it's football at the end of the day it's football and that's we play a contact sport we ain't out there pity pading and you know don't when you watch me make sure your kids don't watch to your point though I love how you said I haven't gotten a pick six yet dude like just I hear it in the mentality oh man this year no but I'm just saying like when I Vision, Traditions, and Wearing Number 24 ask and you're like yeah a lot of people are just like oh well haven't got but you said yeah and I know it's to come and you've already visualized it and I know it's GNA already seen it this year I've seen it I yeah I don't want to speak too much you know I don't want to block my blessings but speak speak I envision I Envision so much for the for myself in this year and what's to come man it's my vision is way bigger than anybody could ever imagine so everybody gonna be out there like dang who is this 24 I like man I've been that guy you know what I'm saying I've been put myself in the shoes to to go out there and do whatever I got to do for my defense So speaking well speaking of putting yourself in shoes man number 24 you just said it that's a big number for the Seahawks it's also big number in Seattle in general I mean griffy you got beast mode uh how do you feel wearing the number 24 I'm I'm always honored to to wear any number really on any organization because to to make the 53 man is is is a blessing so I want to address that num Uno but definitely man I was I was a beast mode fan man seeing the guy run 11 guys over for a touchdown and then hey like that you know what I'm saying just it's I I know what it means to to wear 24 I know what um this you know that number brings to the organization and what it means to the TW man the fans and um that's why I'm excited to wear it uh because I don't think I'm going to disappoint in the slightest I think if anything I'mma have even more fans talking about than 24 just like everybody else man we're so happy to have you here and I mean we could talk to you forever we know that you got to run but we do appreciate your time and we hope you come back all day anytime the last thing last question for you how do you get pumped up for the game music what are you definitely music obviously but uh not obviously but definitely music but what what pumps me up is my tradition um I had spoke on this before but my tradition is to call all my loved ones on a on a group FaceTime and we we get together we discuss the attire that I wear U my my my game day drip and then we talk about uh God you know what I'm saying we we we give it to God we pray and then you know we just celebrate you know just another special event you know every game is like a big event and that's that's what we all understand we all know and it's NFL is not for long so you got to cherish those moments each even the preseason games I was doing it like it's it's something that we all do something that everybody loves everybody every body enjoys and and and they get to see me shine so it's dope cool man well like I think Lo is frozen here but for him and from me just you know we really appreciate you welcome to Seattle I hope you know your time here is long and you can really experience everything that this city has offer I don't know if you guys can
