nobody cares what anyone did last year whether you were good whether you were bad everybody has Ambitions and aspirations for this year but it really doesn't matter until you go out there and prove it and you go out there and do it I'm all about the cold tub I'm big on the ice bath being able to soak in there and let your body heal I got drafted by the Titans in the sixth round so I got drafted but not by much there's nothing guaranteed for a sixth round draft pick Brothers inherently are competitive and twins take it to the next level I think for us as people when we can help someone with a blood transfusion when we can help somebody with a monetary donation that can go towards research to know that you can possibly Save a Life it's huge let all your moments of self-doubt fear or disappointment fuel your drive to be great because it will be in those moments of fear that we have to realize we must redefine success and what it means to us no matter what the football season is like no matter what you're going through with it when you start to do things in the community and start to impact lives it does make those successes or failure small in comparison in New England winning isn't some bigger goal it's part of a process it's the expected result like I've had full interactions with fans as my brother and they don't notice pretending to be Dev is easy I just act like myself except much louder as I prepared for the 2009 draft I've vividly remember meeting with a prospective agent that told me if I put in the work I could be a good special teams player in the league for a little bit on one hand thanks for the honesty I guess but I thought I might be capable of more whether you're in year 1 or you're in year 12 every day you've got to show up with a willingness to compete and to prove that you belong there and a willingness to get better and listen to coaching I mean I think from the competitive side especially as a defensive back you don't mind that pressure go out there on Fourth and 15 or whatever the down in distance when I first came into the league I was in Tennessee and I had guys like courland finegan Chris hope Michael Griffin a ton of guys that were willing to pour into me and help me figure out how to be a pro whether it was the defense whether it was life off the field honestly I'm not a soccer fan I'm not a golf fan people often speak about Legacy and when they mention our Legacy I sure hope they don't only mention football my two brothers and myself never had to look outside of our house in search of a hero we got to witness one up close every day when you can attack legislation and get laws and the system changed that's going to bring a real impact but we can't expect that to happen overnight we all should realize the significance of a human life and how we all should be treated the reality of the matter is I'm blessed to be able to do what I can and to have this platform for me I'm going to try and do everything that I can to use that platform to to help those who don't have the ability to spread their voice that people will hear them for every negative comment you see on social media based upon standing up for something there's somebody from back home that's telling me hey I'm proud of you man continue to do what you're doing of course you don't do it for that but sometimes it's tough man that's honestly one of the blessings of having a twin who shares your interests you kind of get this mirror view of what you're capable of understand who you are and what your passionate about and move in that direction there's always going to be something from one season to the next that's going to be a challenge that's going to have change that's going to force people to step up Force different roles on people I think that's the unique thing about our league is each year is a new opportunity for anybody to step up and make something of themselves there's not one year to the next that you don't go through a number of changes whether it's Personnel whether it's coaching whether it's scheme as we search for change and seek for our voices to be heard completing the census will help get us the resources we need Daniel Jones is a guy who has some escapability can get outside the pocket I think for the rookies stick to what you've been doing stick to fundamentals I think that's each and every week you're always going to start with the basics the fundamentals one stop the run I think beyond that once you start there you're always looking out what their personnel is in which ways can they beat you and then you have to adapt and adjust during the course of the game one thing I really believe is control what you can control so for me each and every day I get an opportunity no matter what if I'm with the ones twos 3es fours if your number is called and you get a rep make the best of the rep I didn't think I'd be playing football at 31 so it's a blessing just to be able to come out here and compete I had older guys take me in under their wing make me come get in the cold tub with them make me stay after and watch film with them of just continuing to try to push me and talk to me all throughout practices and games trying to get my technique right my knowledge and all of that I'm nervous before every game I'm nervous before a preseason game I think there's those same pregame Jitters I think that type of mindset no matter if you're 16 to zero you're rolling through the playoffs no matter what the situation is there's always going to be somebody that's doubting you or saying something about you I think for certain guys individually it may be something that kind of gives you that extra kick you're always going to have somebody that's saying something about you in a negative form or fashion I think for each and every individual you try to use that to push you to motivate you whether it really meant something to you whether it didn't I think ultimately to be able help with the holidays for somebody who might be a little less fortunate I think is the main thing and the best part of all we know that we carry the sickle cell trait and we know we want to have kids we want to reproduce and the partner that we find those are the questions we have to ask it's been crazy to not only learn about the criminal justice system but to see how it starts so young corner is probably different from safeties and linebackers but I think the important part is coming out each and every day competing not only trying to get yourself better but also for us on defense pushing the offense as much as we possibly can so we can just improve totally as a team there's always something that's motivating you there's doubt about something that's going on with you maybe it's not individually maybe it's your position group maybe it's your side of the ball there's just always something that's going to push you that's kind of what motivated us our entire lives to be able grow up and be able to give back and do things for my mother it's so hard to compare one organization to another just because there's a different way of doing things we work extremely hard here to get better each and every day to put ourselves in a position to win games when the season starts our father passed away when we were young so Mom was the mom and the dad mom I guess for us has been number one from day one us being twins growing up extremely close like we did the one thing you kind of always wish is the maximum amount of success for your brother I'm very comfortable playing off technique playing press technique I've just had to do it in so many different systems and switch up I feel like I've been able to learn to get along and be able to connect a lot of people
