rugby world rankings folks for three rounds of the rugby Championship the Box getting a win over the ABS extends their lead at the top of the rankings but is that number one spot still at risk the Aussies have gone and passed the Italians which is a kind of more familiar spot for them but certainly they would like to keep traversing their way up there on whiteboard we'll go through the rankings changes for the weekend the possible permutations for the upcoming round of games you guys can let us know how fair or not you think the rankings are I mentioned South Africa is up 93.3 s they've taken some points off the All Blacks how far away from the All Blacks alltime record are they still a few points the All Black's highest ever was 96.5 S I think that was back in 2016 so still a we way away I mean even the Box had a higher score than this current one prior to that loss to Ireland earlier this year they were in the kind of 94s close to 95s but um yeah still good to take some points from a Bok point of view uh it does get harder to take points the further you get away from all the other teams like the springbox are over a point ahead of everybody else at the moment and basically if you're more than 10 points ahead of anybody you can't take any points for them so the amount of teams the spring box can actually take points from is very limited uh the All Blacks are still there in third dropping to 88.4 uh but you're still ahead of fourth place France by a kind of decent way Ireland's still there in second Ireland can go number one in the world was looking potentially likely in that last game at Joe Berg before the Box mounted a come back so Ireland's still there at number two and England there at number five England's Got a New Jersey out by the way if you are an England fan or some kind of rugby Jersey collector like myself check the link out down in the description to England rugby store they got a a pretty new snazzy Jersey to be fair England Jersey is kind of harder to make look snazzy because it's basically just white but um I think they've done a pretty decent job Scotland are actually up on the rankings they haven't done anything but um because the argentinians lost they have dropped below Scotland's ranking so up for Scotland good on them in terms of World Cup qualifications Rugby World Cup um spots are actually going to be pretty important in terms of the rankings so yeah you want to be a top seed I guess if possible with the expanded World Cup Argentina down to 81.5 s Australia up to 80.7 so Australia as I mentioned has passed the Italians who they have been behind for a little while now so it's a bit more familiar position to see them above the Italians and then uh Fiji kind of rounds out the top 10 Pacific Nations cup action was also underway at the weekend so we saw s are getting a win over Tonga so they've taken some points although not enough to catch Georgia Tonga on on the other hand have lost some points but are not enough to drop a position the US also took some points off the Canadians the Canadians who are below where my whiteboard can reach down to have dropped below Chile into 22nd so yeah Pacific Nations cup has been going alongside the old rugby Championship now permutations for this weekend as I mentioned South Africa at Cape Town against the ABS can drop top spot but they are still in a position to take some points off the ABS not a lot if they're able to do the double over the All Blacks uh remember they are got getting scored at kind of plus three for being at home so they'll essentially be on 96.3 s so not quite a full 10 points ahead of the ABS but almost so that's why the kind of points total they will take will be pretty minimal 0.21 if it's a 1 to 15 win or if it's a 16 plus Point win it'll be 31 so less than half a point if they can get a win but that's just that's just the thing when you're so far ahead of everyone else uh they will lose number one spot though if they were to lose and New Zealand if they could somehow get a 16-point win over the box would create havoc in the world rankings because South Africa would drop to three New Zealand would go up to two and Ireland would go number one so would be absolute chaos uh the argentinians can take some points off the Aussies if they get a win but not enough to pass Scotland and the Aussies could pass uh Argentina potentially uh if they were to give get a uh a win over them the Japanese can take points off the US in the Pacific Nations cup but not a lot the us could go up to 17th if they were to get an upset win over in Japan and Fiji will take minimal points off Tonga if they can get in away win whereas Tonga will take a whole heap of points off the fijians if they can get a kind of upset win on Friday those are the rugby world rankings on my whiteboard you guys let let us know what you think on how fair or not they are do you see any upsets at the weekend or do you think the two home sides will be getting wins if you like whiteboard chat two cents on tour I recently took a tour around a Chinese University with a couple of students the conversation is largely in Chinese but I've put subtitles in
