and he's done a great job with with Coach with Pat and then you know with us out here um anytime there's been something um he's always turned around and been you know yeah yeah things haven't gone out was it me was it you was it like you know he have conversation which is great so I'm super excited made some some great plays see the title he's do job he's picking things up quickly so I'm excited for him gave us a preview of his rookie performance that for did he really man y'all did a good job I know uh yeah he uh did he did he did he trying to think yeah I think yeah I think he he does go again he did a if I don't we've had a lot I think he did a good job but didn't like he was this close there's like a duration limit for us and I don't think he quite hit the first time I could be mixing him up with someone but yeah we're we're all excited everyone's uh everyone's excited for the for the performance guys keep coming in and out I know it's probably frustrating to have to kind of get used to other guys but where we yeah it's great for me uh it's it you know obviously there's going to be a shuffling of things for one reason or another but that's how the year is that's how the season is and I think it's great just like you said uh all of us at Q getting opportunities with different guys um and then also more of an emphasis on you know you you know the system you know uh you know we're at that point obviously we're not game playing we're not putting specific people in specific places so everyone's being able to get to to run every route people getting opportunities to run and be a different position so um I think it's great it breeds competition and I think it's it'll be good for us in the long run hey Bryce um Dave was just in here and he said he hasn't made a decision on whether he's going to play you in the preseason or not he just he's kind of faning it back and forth in his mind but how do you feel about that do you want to play you okay if you don't play what what is your thoughts on it yeah I trust in coach um you know whatever it is that that he says um you know I I'll listen to that so um you know I trust in him and the staff um just like I I have with all the stuff we've been doing uh you know for for me I think that in the same way um I think it's a process and um you know I trust in whatever they feel like the process is um you know definitely for I think you know just obviously us being back we all are competitors um you know we all are excited for for the season we're all excited for the year we're all excited to be on together um so you know we all have that Competitive Edge to us um and then you know as far as preseason goes I'm just Trust Co that R you played a little bit last preseason not a ton um did you kind of like the idea of getting at least a few reps uh you know in August yeah um you know last year it was kind of the same situation um you know obviously I was that was my uh first anything in the NFL um against other team outside of joint practices you know last year I definitely feel like I you know I was able to to to learn a lot about you know it's a different different game um and just be able to uh be introduced that way I think it was it was cool I think it was good for my development at the time and um you know again this year um you know whatever it is um I'm gonna trust coach with hindsight what did you learn about the differ I don't think he playing in the preseason um you know I think that uh I think that you learn how good people are in the NFL you know everyone's out there um preseason or regular season it's the best of the best competing going at it um it's the best of best trying to do everything they can on every given down um so um just the how how the level Focus was was the same everyone came out with the same intensity um and you know again with that being kind of my introduction last year um you know it was it was just cool to see how um you know how just the level of play um that the NFL was um at that time so it was great Bry how confident are you that you would be able to get everything you need to get out of this period of time if you don't play before week one yeah I'm I'm super confident and um again in whatever the coaches the coaches advis whatever they've been in the leag a lot of off a lot of teams and you know I trust 100% in and what it is that chose you know us going up against each other every day um you know we we compete against the defense every day we have a great defense side the ball and um you know that that's especially when you're running the same stuff and the same system and you know Mar everyone sees the same things those details get smaller and smaller and then obviously we'll have joint practice I do I can get the most out of that and grow and I think that pushes me to grow a lot and um again you know whatever it is that that the coach decide I'll I'll you know I'll go it few weeks into this with the receivers here what jumps out about this group what you dealt with last year yeah um you know I think just speaking on this year and this group of receivers um just the competitiveness um you know there's been shuffling there's been um people playing in different spots and just the willingness to learn um you know this is a new system this year and no one's come in like ah you know you know I I've done this and another system on another team I've everyone's came in with a growth mindset everyone's want to learn everyone's embraced the coaching um we've all had to learn this together so uh the amount of communication we've had um and the willingness to go out there and um my do good back there uh willingness to uh to to make mistakes and then go back and correct them and there's no ah well maybe it's everyone wants to learn everyone wants to grow um and you know I think also being able to see that translate from OTAs to early in Camp to now um you know we have a big Point emphasis of not making the same mistake twice and seeing the the willingness are growing then that going to translate that because last year a lot was made about them not getting separation but there's a lot more that goes into that than just them getting open because they were open at times you say up had a live CCH some of the 12y old they not great at getting separation um you know that's about last year and you know uh last year was last year and you know for us this year um again this is a new group it's a new building this is new coaching staff New Philosophy um and you know for us obviously as a football player you're always going to take experiences you've had your entire life and you know we're kind of all at that culmination of all we've done to to work to where we're at but you take all that and you applied into this year we apply into coaching and executing the system to the best that we can and really that's where all of our Focus has been Bryce what you learned about Deontay Johnson um nothing that I couldn't already see in OTAs um but speaking towards it just how much of a competitor he is um I think it even shows more um you know these are tough days we're doing the same stuff every day you know it's um you know it's tough as difficult as not ideal conditions uh you know we have we're four days in a row right now and to see the amount of fire he comes out with every day um it could be day whatever yesterday I think was day nine or something day whatever it was um and like one-on ones of and just going talking making sure coming back hey let's get this after practice we W connect am how comp he is how much he cares about the little things obviously much car about details how much he cares about the little God y'all stay right there she cares about the little things um the amount of accountability the willingness to grow and to adap to the system um you know it's been super encouraging so um I think that's one of the many things that that stuck out only hit my L yeah um like said right now we're in Camp mode so we've been dial in Camp I think uh you know the coaches schedule I think we start I forgot they said when we start um putting like you said it's preseason so obviously when we haven't as a team started looking uh looking at them yet but obviously ton of respect obviously super um you know super uh story organization they they've had a ton of success especially defensively um so you know I think we we're all excited for the challenge um you know we we definitely take it um take it seriously um and then you know we're going to trust the the look an amazing adventure with turo from Peak luxury to SUVs and budet friendly options right there receiver teammates say that you take individual time with each of them to like learn who they are as people but also learn how they move on the field and how you two can like kind of gr uh kind of come together they got a high school what are those conversations like why is that important to you yeah I think that's super important as a quarterback and as a leader um you know I think especially as a quarterback it's on on us to make sure that we know the people that you know we're thrown to mow them Meers l trying to Pie as a quarterback you you're constantly trying to piece that together um and you know when you're out there and you don't take the time to do that you know it definitely shows uh for for both sides you know every receiver is gonna want the ball a little differently going to run things a little differently and it's on us to adapt um and then you know as a quarterback and as a leader also I feel like that doesn't just stop with the two hours out here um you know it goes into locker room it goes into um after football um and you know the more you get to learn and and connect with people and grow um you know you it always translates one way or another um so I'm grateful to be in the position I am grateful I have the receivers and the teammates I do um we have a great group of guys in the locker room um so you know I think it's just my job and it's it's mutually beneficial for all of us um and you know as a quarterback as a leader to make sure that um again obviously the the field and the play is the most important thing you know there's a time where that's to the side and then you know we're at the end of the day and you know making
