Daniel Hi how are you guys wonderful you're there in person I wish we were with [Music] you I'm on I'm on my way my name is Donnie and I'm here with the the co co-host of the show mixt we are a podcast out of Chicago and one of the things we love to focus on is kind of the diversity that Hollywood can bring to the shows and characters and the stories that we tell which is one of the reasons we absolutely love rings of power so we only have just a couple minutes I want to jump in here and this question is really for marela and Megan so one of the things I noticed almost immediately watching the show is our beloved hobbits so if we like think back to the old shows of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films the the the most popular or famous would be like Frodo Bilbo Sam wise they're all men and then in this series we have Nori and Poppy these beautiful female hobbits so can you tell us just the importance of female representation in lead roles yeah I mean I think it's it's really exciting to see shows and film and Cinema just become more representative of the world that we're in so I think you know I love all those characters that you just mentioned and love the books and love the films so for me really it was just so exciting to be a part of the talking Universe in some way and uh really amazing to see um you know these really um powerful Stories being told with you know females at the Forefront it is really exciting and I'm grateful to be a part of that but I think that hopefully we get to a point where we don't need to that question doesn't need to be asked as often because we're seeing more and more stories with femes at the center being told in women and just hopefully our industry just becomes more representative of the world that we live in in all aspects I love that thanks Mela that's awesome hi guys I'm Robert hi oh hello um so we suddenly saw you oh okay okay well I'm right here um yeah you know one thing that we really appreciated in uh season one was the development of the characters uh the harits and the stranger of course we're all speculating who the stranger is and I'm not going to ask you that question um but and but we see that that relationship developing in season two which is really great um I want to ask a technical question though because I find it fascinating the behind the scenes I know Mar marela you mentioned scale workor in in season one and and the challenge of that and I know Daniel for you you had to act primarily non verbal in season 1 um I know you have you speak now in this season what are some of the challenges of of of of these types of acting roles and that they get easier in season two um I mean from scale point of view I think the the crew behind behind the camera's done an amazing job to make to make our world uh much easier in that we can really work with each other so at the end of season one we they began to figure out techniques whereby we could be in the same camera shot and appear to be different scale um and that meant that that we were able to look at each other literally in the eyes which we haven't always been able to do and that just kept going through for season two so we were able to work with each other a huge amount which for me was incredibly beneficial I really enjoyed it um and and I I just have huge heaps of praise for the people who made that possible the the camera trickery and the techniques and and they're understanding as well they're listening to to how much it meant you know I want to speak too much for you guys but to listen to How much it meant to me to be able to work organically with the charact with the other characters CU I think these these relationships well they're the only relationships The Stranger has but you know they're so fundamental to to the stranger that um that that not to be able to look into your eyes when we were working together would have been a real shame and um yeah I was really thrilled that we've been able to do so much of it season too yeah and also us we have incredible scale doubles that also come in when it's not possible to to act OPP directly opposite each other who were really trying to make sure that they were encapsulating what they did as well yeah thanks so much I know we just had a really limited time with you guys um but thank you for for taking time with us as fans of token suan Lord of the Rings all of that thank you for bringing this world to life and you guys have been brilliant thank you so much thank you [Music]
