The Dodgers Still HATE Houston

unless you've been living in a hole in the ground for The Last 5 Years you'd know Iron Man sacrificed himself to save the universe a virus took over the world and locked everyone home before suddenly disappearing a man named I talk Studios created a channel named it talk Studios and last but certainly not least the Houston Astros were exposed for Cheating in one of the biggest scandals in sports history that's old news now half of that team is either retired or on new teams and of course some jokes and taunts are thrown around here and there on the cheating even though they' end up wining another championship in 2022 but by now the cheating stuff is mostly over with but at the same time as time continues to go on and we get further from it yeah it's not as big of a deal as it once was but it's also clear that it really forever will sit in baseball lore as one of the more frowned upon things even though really everyone's blood isn't boiling anymore about necessarily it's still something that at times could flare up and get people going especially those who were affected by this Scandal the most the Dodgers so welcome back or welcome for the first time if you're to the channel and consider subscribing if you enjoy the videos as the Dodgers Astro's first game against each other after the cheating back in 2020 became iconic there wasn't a fight but Joe Kelly prompted the benches to clear and for there to be some yelling after he mocked Carlos kareah a year later karea would take Kelly deep in front of a booing Dodger Stadium crowd and overall most of the bitterness has just been words Kelly had recently wrote a book and in that book talked about how MLB was panicking a little bit back in 2020 regarding a potential Dodgers Astros World Series rematch before it ended up being Dodgers Rays instead it would have most definitely been musty TV I mean just imagine the possibilities Kelly even said he 100% would have been waiting at the hotel for kareah if the two teams met in the world series that year we might have been robbed of straight Cinema but anyway with Kelly since returning to the Dodgers last year and continuing it on for 2024 after a couple years with the white socks Kelly is back at his Astros taunts but before we get into that a player who was more directly affected by the Astros cheating maybe even the Clayton Kershaw had some stuff to say regarding the team's recent trip to Houston their first trip back there with a full Stadium since 2017 Clayton Kershaw was at the peak of his career during that season I mean this dude was on a legitimate alltime run and it's crazy when I look at it it's always like I'm seeing it for the first time again from 2011 through 2014 he led all of baseball in erra won the MVP and saong award in 2014 after winning the saong award in 2011 and 2013 went on to have a couple more dominant seasons in 2015 and 16 before leading the national league in ER in 2017 that's when the Dodgers played Houston and Kershaw continued his dominance in game one going seven Innings allowing just one run on three hits and striking out 11 that game was in LA though his next challenge was game five in Houston and this time things were going to be different I'm not fully sure how much the Astros were able to use their sign stealing scheme on the road but it was at home where it was the strongest of course where they had their own people and things to operate to make it work best and so Kershaw went from 11 strikeouts to just two in game five but even crazier was the breaking ball stat for that game a stat that on its own tells you that the Astros were up to something and had some sort of an advantage what was the stat well Kershaw threw 51 sliders and curveballs that night and got zero swings and misses that's a real thing it was immediately confirmed as you can go through every slider and curveball that game thrown by Kershaw and Houston's hitters didn't whiff at a single one hitchers at bad games all the time even Hall of Famers like Clayton and even Hall of Famers like Clayton Kershaw at the height of their careers but nobody fails to get a single swing and Miss on that many Breaking balls that's ridiculous the Astros hitters were just on every single one knew when the slower ones were coming and knew to lay off of them or crush it if it was in the zone so Not only was he embarrassed out there but it of course cost the Dodgers the trophy that year one that's largely believed to be one that the Dodgers would have won if not for the cheating and so as the guy impacted the most Kershaw was asked about being back in Houston and minimade park and he didn't sugarcoat anything or play politics he was pretty blunt that he doesn't like going there repeating that same sentence four times saying that he doesn't like rolling up and seeing the 2017 ring in front of their Stadium quote I probably don't do a good job of dealing with things that affect me in general long term so I think reliving some of this stuff some people will say it's healthy it doesn't help me it doesn't make me feel good to talk about it it's not like it's life altering like something terrible with your family I don't want to put it in a category like that as far as careers go Jobs go this is is a place I just don't like and I mean can you blame the guy if you're honest with yourself of course you can't the whole reason players play is to win championships that's the main goal at the end of the day and there's a reason why it's such a big deal winning a ring isn't relevant for just that moment in time sure it may get talked about less as time goes on but it never goes away once you win a championship nobody can take that away from you so despite us being seven years removed from the Dodgers being affected by Houston's cheating it still undoubtedly hurts I think if the Dodgers had won more than just the 2020 or it wouldn't hurt as much but because they continue to choke every postseason it doesn't soften the blow at all hopefully things change soon but for now 2017 continues to be the closest chance at a normal season ring the Dodgers have had since 1988 and back to Joe Kelly that dude absolutely despises Houston and everything to do with it after Gavin Lux was hit by a pitch from ronell Blanco Kelly yelled out and taunted Blanco by saying hey woman's private part Houston ended up coming back and walking off that game when the Dodgers LED five nothing at one point and the next day after teoscar Hernandez took Astro's reliever Brian King deep the next pitch to Gavin Lux would be upen in with Lux immediately looking back out to the Mount only for the next pitch to be even higher near the head and Lux even more aggressively looked out this time and immediately calmed himself down as the Astros catcher got up in case of anything Lux went on a work a walk and score on a Cavin bigio single and an eventual Dodger win Joe Kelly entered the game soon after throwing a shut out inning but not before of course being booed by Astros fans and after the game in classic Joe Kelly fashion he said that he didn't hear them because they weren't loud enough nobody bleue balls us more than the Dodgers and Astros these games always tease us with fireworks but they never actually happen just drops of tension but still interesting nonetheless and from what Kershaw said to the way guys like Joe Kelly and Gavin Lux acted two guys who weren't even on the 2017 Dodgers it's pretty clear that this anger toward the Astros isn't going away anytime soon let me know your thoughts and thank you for watching
