How Sanders powered Colorado over North Dakota State | The College Football Show 🏈

all right let's go back into the film room with Matt Sims now Colorado opened things up early in week one against North Dakota State a FCS team it was close but once again shador Sanders put on a show yeah I mean it really is like an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie like back from the 90s man like they just they throw it just weapons after weapons after weapons and just when you think he runs out of ammo they just keep reloading and attacking you man and it's just unbelievable what the cool thing about right what what this team has shown here is just shador Sanders man he is just a phenomenal playmaker his vision down the field is great the offensive line has played better this guy right here Hayden I love what he does in this place we're going to get fiveman protection North Dakota state is going to roll to cover three they're going to roll down they're going to play three deep right and then three under this backer is blitzing Hayden does a great job of meeting him at the line of scrimmage something that they did not do a year ago and on the back end here for Colorado we're going to see this guy number 12 the Travis Hunter effect we're going to see him run an inut and then Jimmy horn down here out of the screen is running a deep post but because Travis Hunter is that guy for us offensively you're going to see the whole defense kind of collapse around him and then leave Jimmy horn Jr wide open one-on-one against a corner the other thing to highlight here too I mean that's a collapse pocket though look at the pocket and the great thing right he's a great extender of plays but also too his ability to just kind of like flick the football aggressively down the field with his arm it just shows you how flexible and how strong he is as a thrower and the accuracy and Rhythm Within the play right in that front just Falls right into him right Falls right in perfectly and you'll see from the endzone kind of why it was that perfect but Jimmy horn Jr man I mean we're talking about a guy that's like you know 4X 100 meter guy track runner 108 in the 100 meter when he was in high school so really impressive love the protection here great window long developing play right to start so he's got to hang in there right he's got to be patient we're going to see though as he moves up okay now it's starting to collapse he does a great job of staying composed his eyes are down at that middle safety and as we continue to watch this here's the safety here's the Nickelback here's that weak side linebacker who is this person right here it's Travis Hunter so that's the effect that Travis Hunter has when he saw that safety go down on Travis Hunter right to play that zone right there he said I'm going to throw it right over the top of his head and let Jimmy horn Jr run to the space and go get it fantastic play by shador Sanders by the way wasn't the only time that horn Jr was the benefactor of uh the Travis Hunter effect he actually led the team in receiving yards nearly 200 receiving yards on on seven catches but uh you you know the the the story of the show is still going to be number 12 the story of the show is number two and number 12 without a doubt that's a a media impact every time that you watch this team play and even when you watch the film the whole offense is predicated around number two and number 12 Jimmy horn Jr though to me he's a pro right number two he's a pro Travis Hunter I think that he is a pro receiver as well as good as he is on defense I don't know and that's me me obviously being offensive coordinator like I want him on my side of the but here we have right second quarter right before half 19 seconds left Colorado has two timeouts left and what we should see from shadora here is let's put the football in play let's get our guy quick easy catch get vertical call the timeout right after right so the players designed hey let's throw the football right now to Wester who's right here in the slot and let him outrun a linebacker in space great this is what's great about shador though and this is why you can't like coach this out of him he is right now just playing ball he's playing backyard football he's literally looking at the line of scrimmage and just saying you know what I'm just going to go in playmaker mode right now and just go off so what does he do he Retreats he does a back door does a great job of getting right the vertical step and then going right so this is a good thing for young quarterbacks out there also too look at how he tries to fight to get his eyes back up right because your body follows where you look so he fights to get his eyes to Chin to shoulder steps vertical gets out of the pocket now he attacks the line of scrimmage outruns the most dangerous guy next to him sets and this is what's really cool right here he is at the line of scrimmage right people are collapsing in at them this guy right here in the corner is actually the guy that he completes the football to does he look open right now no so I don't know how the hell he did this but his composure while getting absolutely crushed to a guy that at the moment when he wound up for the throw was covered right to Wester huge play in this and he knows he's getting hit there he knows that he's getting hit and that's the thing where you just like you just hey you just calm down you just know like all right I'm just going to get obliterated right and I you know at times was good at that and other times was not very good at that right and he's a whole another level at it but right now again playmaker mode great step vertical again chin Tosh shoulder gets his head and eyes around the body follows outruns the defender sets he's trying to look down the field doesn't see anything resets quick release again beautiful accurate throw in Rhythm right there and and it's that those are the plays where again where this is why shador Sanders is going to be a first round talent for this football team because he just puts it on display on film consistently throughout the game and like Scooby had said in our show right earlier you know he does have like almost that like Steph Curry thing like every time that he sets up like it's going to be a fun one right and he is entertaining great quarterback leader right and I love his toughness too in the pocket as well always on point with it I love that the wide receiver game that he got they just want to catch a ball for him yeah you would have loved playing with shador I feel like you all you need to do is run and put your hands out and it's going to be there that's what it seems like every coach would have love coaching him too you know so uh it's really fun though to watch football it's great film right to to to go back and check out and uh the skill group really did a great job performing I I expect them to be even sharper as the season goes uh to win a lot of these shootouts uh by the way Colorado going to Nebraska next weekend so that is going to be the hype game of the entire season man get ready for some great throws young quarterbacks Dylan rayola shador Sanders we're going to see some fun stuff by the quarterbacks no doubt yeah
