National Grid customers we have something exciting to tell you about our new smart meters you may already know that smart meters are designed to give you more information which will help you better manage your electricity usage knowing how and when you consume energy will not only help you manage your bill more efficiently but potentially lower your monthly costs and there's more good news about Smart Meters welcome to an even better online experience with National Grids my account portal now with two new features to help you monitor your electricity usage the first one displays energy consumption in near real time every 15 minutes over a 24-hour period so on any given day you can see how much electricity was used for example if your air conditioner was on you can see an increase in the overall electricity level right here if you ran the dishwasher you'll see that reflected in the near realtime data link all in 15minute intervals it's a fast last convenient way to stay on top of things the second new feature is called highest energy use days it displays a monthly calendar that indicates which 5 days had the highest electricity usage so you can discover what caused your usage to go up maybe you had guests in your house maybe you were cooking more meals whatever the reasons you can see where energy levels Rose and adjust accordingly next month putting this kind of information in your hands helps you take more control make better choices on how you use your energy and potentially lower your monthly bills with these new efficient features we can all look forward to smarter more sustainable energy usage right now for our homes and for the future of our planet [Music]
