the Chicago sky are preparing to take on the Las Vegas Aces at home can the sky have the type of performance that they need to beat one of the best teams in the WNBA me St we're going to talk about it yeah it looks like she's ready to to commit a homicide so this gonna be ugly game the scy fans Asia and and Plum came out of here look like they just got out of bed they both got hoodies and and and bro she got a fresh Target fresh out the gas station t-shirt on with some jogging pants some white socks and black [ __ ] slide she FNA give us 40 aent GNA give us 40 yeah and and and the end of the day she gonna do her regardless no matter what she got on but at the end of the day you got to neutralize try your best to neutralize everything else we can't let others go off for 20 like we did last time let Kelsey getting almost what 28 points last time we can't let um we just can't let other people dictate the game and other faets and we can't put ourselves at hoes we gotta be damn near perfect again so and we ain't been showing that much uh godamn look look look at her coming this [ __ ] just just look at this that's how she came to the game not not not uh not no fit on no nothing she got game they they but the sky would have to play damn near a perfect game tonight against the Aces and as's locked in so we'll see we'll see this Sky Team I I'll tell you this they showed more fight last game than what they did since the uh since the Olympic break returned and hopefully we have that but you have to already we're talking about already coming into any game against the aces the sky need to perform at almost the perfect level they need to have Perfection through almost every aspect of the game if they want to be able to survive that hey man it's about be interesting it's definitely about to be interesting yeah you got a do your tee Cross Your Eyes uh you gonna have to hit shots today do your teas and cross your eyes did I say it mix that's how you said it you said it backwards but I get what you're saying [ __ ] it's early me it feel like a [ __ ] AA game this morning but um yeah like you just gotta be you gota have like you said Perfection and we ain't been seeing Perfection like we haven't been seeing Perfection any fashion from the coaches to down to the play so um you got to keep feeding the high hand which we kind of got away from last game um you can't you got to come out punching like you've been doing the last few games but you got to stay punch you can't get yourself and have a 29 to 18 Run game in the second quarter like you did you can't go out here have a good third quarter and then [ __ ] the bed in the fourth like you can't continue to do this you can't put yourself in holes against good teams like this period so I don't know what type of grit y'all got today I don't know what type of breakfast y'all need but I hope you got it together I really hope y'all get it together because if it's nothing short of [ __ ] perfect we're not winning yeah it's that simple yeah I mean you you can't have some of the mistakes that you had down the stretch of last game like all all jokes aside between the walkin and everything like that the sky you're at home you need to feed off that energy but you have to pace yourself you can't have these these three solid quarters or two and a half solid quarters and then other quarters where you can completely get blown out if you want to beat the aces you have to be consistent in every aspect of the game keep your head on the swiv swivel we need coach spoon to be coaching at the best you can today we need Angels rebounds we need listen the way that Camila played in last game now we got to go to her more consistently but the way that Camila played last game that could be a determining factor in a game like this but we need everybody to be locked in for sure we got C dub in the building how you feel what's up y'all I'm excited for this basketball game coming eat just about to say that it's breakfast ready to fight they've been okay I want to give her respect to respect is dude she is the the best player in the league uh I guess this if if I want to go ahead and draw my conclusions on her attire coming into the into the uh into the stadium and to win trust I would say that she tired of the nonsense she want to get straight to the business but I would say she been getting straight to business all season so all this this extracurricular you want this is just G gaslighting and Grand standing by Asia Wilson you don't need to do that to go out there and be incredible you've been incredible all season um yeah but this is gonna be a a a great game for the for the Chicago Scott man I had a go ahead I don't want to keep rambling go ahead go ahead go ahead I think one of the keys in this game that I want to point out of course everybody's going to talk about Jackie kelse and AIA rightfully so but somebody that I think can be maybe a bit of a surprise factor for the sky team especially considering the the lack of depth that we have you cannot Overlook a player like Alicia Clark to me today Alicia Clark could be one of those players that plays an xfactor role for the aces today again you look at her numbers on the season it's nothing that's that's surprising you but again this is a veteran player who understands and especially she's matched up at any point with Michael O where I'll even say diamond the Shields coming off that bench either you better watch out because Alicia Clark isn't going to come take it easy on nobody and she knows how to attack when she smells blood in the water she'll definitely attack I'm scared like I just said I don't care what y'all talking about they're off two losses yeah they're off two loss to the Minnesota links and Asia play pretty much well in both of them last game was better than the first but they come in for blood they they're they feel like they shouldn't have lost them last two games so they gonna come and we already know we Chicago Scott everybody play their best game against us it is what it is so when it comes down to it we gotta be a we got to match fire with fight if they crashing the boards we gotta crash the board harder we gotta play that brand of uh scy defense kind of showed up a little bit in last game but it need to be a whole game like we was used to in the first half of the Season that has to come back because if you keep playing this spotty defense with these type of teams they gonna take advantage of it and this team you don't want to to take Vantage because because it could go from a 10 run to a 220 run if you ain't careful that's a fact hey um I I understand that and and all that stuff is true for sure but I want to talk about my team like every time we back them into a corner this season what does they do they go higher than expectations I think it's been a couple sometimes they got punched in the mouth and bowled up in the quarter sometimes a couple or twice they they did you know literally the last time you like hey this team ain't been blown out none the season we proceeded to get blown out the next two games that's the one time that's the one time you know what I'm saying but every time you back this team into a corner they come up big now I feel like they should have won the last game uh I was very hard on Teresa Weatherspoon after the game but I looked at her press conference afterwards and I I don't know how much this accounts for anything but I I think she put her all into to trying to coach this team the way she want to coach it and and I don't take back any word that I says I I think she had a poor coaching job at the end of that game but I do think that she trying and and and and I don't know what that counts for in professional sports and she's pouring all of her and her emotions into this team and and I'm gonna give her a little leeway I ain't gonna apologize but I I kind of understand what's going on right now and I don't wanna discount this team going into this game I think they can win this game I don't give a damn if she coming in at black Air Forces or what I don't give a [ __ ] what that got to do with the basketball court that ain't got [ __ ] to do with the basketball court she's already fantastic she's the best player in the league what else she need to do they've lost three out of their four since they returned from the Olympic break I think they were also on a on a bit of a like a a two and three as far as losing streak even before the All-Star break so like this is a team that that and again don't overlook the fact that the aces very much could be pacing themselves we've seen that with teams in all sports that when you win multiple titles you understand how to pace yourself you don't necessarily if you feel confid you can turn it on in the playoffs you don't necessarily come out all the time with with the greatest injur uh energy because you know what you can bring now Asia Wilson's on a historic run this year I think she's the MVP uh for sure this year and that's rightfully so um but this is a game I know we we started off saying how like don't get me wrong her coming in there it was dope that way but this team we said it before we're going to to say it every single time this Sky team can beat and play with anyone It's just sometimes it seems like they don't understand that they can you got to execute my thing is like I get the whole trying to Hype the team up and everything they just haven't shown it especially this new interation of this team because yeah yeah they're been in on losing streak but they lost to the Minnesota links and the New York Liberty and then us with a marina mabery we don't have Marina ma no more so we don't know what this game is going to look like that's what I'm saying like that's what my little like push back is with because I'm so I'm so little hesitant with is because we have shown that be we be very very inconsistent since the break and yeah we're going up as a team that's been losing but they've been losing to Quality teams it's a difference that way what you admitted was been spots where the the Chicago Skies played some winning basketball third uh first quarter third quarter last game but but that's my point we're not good enough to be keep trying to come back absolutely we can't yeah you could put us in a corner but the point of us being put in that corner we already lost the battle because we got to dig oursel out that hole and we know how hard it is we got so close to the very end we should have won last game but we didn't there's games in the past week we should have won but we didn't so they got to show me they got to show me like they learning how to win they got to show me that they're not doing the same mistakes that they've been doing the last week they're doing the same [ __ ] oh that's that's true uh would you what kind of leeway would you get him with a new type of Team like you move lose a me a Marena May and then you gain two other players what kind of time do you get a team to AG gratiate themselves that's problem with I'm sorry Ste I get turn over you but this is this is the thing about the WNBA and that's why you don't see a lot of inseason Trades because the WNBA season is so short that so like in the NBA you make a trade for a player that's a new big part of your rotation you'll say hey give him give him 10 games 10 games is the basically we you'll have three games left at the end of the season at that point you gotta right now that's that's where the WNBA season is so short is that typically if you make a trade and especially if it's not like a superstar a star level player or something like that and you're already a team trying to figure things out like it's not like we brought in two players to help our system we don't have an offensive system so I don't think that they have enough time to really kind of change things now you would have hoped that they because of having that monthlong break that would have given them opportunity but how they've come out after this break it doesn't look like like they were able to do that over that time so I can't say I can't say how much time to give them because my mind would tell me eight to 10 games we're at the end of the season at that point in time that's absolutely and to the leeway point I think from my viewpoint the whole season is a [ __ ] leeway because I don't expect that much from this team what they've been doing has been exceeding my expectation all year so I don't come in the games expecting like we're playing the Minnesota links we're playing Connecticut we're playing it we're we're guaranteed we can win this game no I have some res like oh we gonna have to fight today we gon have to take I'm just saying from the from the point on every especially since we lost mayy we're gonna have to take wins they ain't gonna give a [ __ ] so at the end of the day that's the lead way I come in I don't expect that much because it's year one we just traded the most valuable player on our team and we're just Bare Bones at this point okay I I I don't think we're Bare Bones I I agree with most of what you said I don't think compared to the talent we got enough to win we got enough to win but Bare Bones is not enough to win that Bare Bones is trash if you got if you gotta fight every game yeah like crawl like you gotta fight like it's a different type of fight when you're on the connan sun that's why Marina looks way better with she with Hall of Famers yeah like we don't when it comes down to it and it's not a slight when it comes down to the talent versus everybody else we right here everybody else in the league damn they up here and that's just the that's just the facts of it we're a rebuilding team We're not gonna have the most talented players on this team so every [ __ ] win we get it's impressive yeah uh uh Brooklyn says we have to start Rachel over Michaela there's no way you're starting point guard we we would literally be the smallest team in the league at that point like we need you need yeah like n hell no and offensively better she's not because Michaela she to floor and take the ball off the dribble Rachel start dribbling help and that's what we said at the end of the last game at this point Rachel needs to just it's literally you get the ball you either shoot or you pass that's it don't dribble she needs to be moving constantly without the ball coming off screens coming off pin Downs that type of thing but I want to see Rachel and the thing is I don't know what her endurance is I I I don't know like I've said it before I haven't watched a whole lot of Rachel banam but like what we've seen so far on this team she just needs to constantly be moving to create that spacing create that opportunities the moment she comes off a screen give her the ball shoot it or if you don't have enough time to get off the shot pass it because the moment Rachel banam has to dribble more than once and sometimes even once it's in the to oh my God looks it looks worse than what uh drip just talked about it's like really bad it's not professional ball handling bro I I do not want her dribbling the ball you said it last game she turns her back every time yeah and Brooklyn is not just about hype Marina May is also a better ball handler marina maybe is also a more fish rebounder marina maybe also gets more Steals and plays the passing Lane there's a lot of reasons why Marina worked at the three whereas Rachel Bannon would not it's not just Rachel and Marina is not on the same Stratosphere he talk about height I think he just height or not they're on on the same Stratosphere she get way more rebounds C guard way more harder players scoring it's no compar no no same the same Multiverse no that's like Chris Paul and [ __ ] Chris Dohan I said I said it before it was funny that you bring that up because we were uh over unlocked on bulls and Pat was like what do you remember Chris Duhan hilarious man uh but yeah man uh with that said y'all uh what else like so angel of course making history uh two 20 rebound games in a row uh the question I want to ask y'all is this um we need more offensively from Angel now I I get it we don't always put her in the best situations we don't always run the proper sets for her to show her offensive game I mean I think all three of us has been in the line like I think we're going to see a lot more kind of constructive offense from Angel next season she hasn't had an offseason but for the remaining part of this season we know what she could be rebounding wise we know all that what do you want to see offensively from Angel reer for the remaining part of the Season realistically take her time stop trying to lay the ball from your damn wayist stop first of all stop bringing the ball down that that you're taking away I keep repeating this [ __ ] I I just think it's a bad habit and you break bad habits in offseason but you just got to stop train yourself to stop bringing the ball solo because you're taken away from your length you already 63 you're a pretty long player anyway so when you going against somebody that's taller than you all they doing is they're knowing you're going to bring it up so they're whining back to wait for the ball to come in and they're sighting it every time two like I said take your time there's so many times where you just know you're gonna get the rebound you just throw some [ __ ] up when I know you can make the shot if you just took your time because I've seen you take your time on multiple great Defenders and and third I'll just say I need you to be more psycho starting the game than ending the game I if if you gotta get into a mode I don't know if you gotta like piss yourself off or something but we need the angel at the end of the game all game especially if we gonna have a chance to win any game for the remainder of the Season BR hey um I think I I hear what you saying you absolutely right on that first point Steve but I'm a reserved at the point that that's going to have to be fixed on the offseason I think she been trying to do layups that way for her entire career as a basketball player that's G to have to be fixed for the off season but I agree with them second to like I need you to be aggressive from the start of the game even if you miss two wide [ __ ] open layups continue to be aggressive uh Angel they can't win we can't win without Angel being aggressive and doing uh her dirty work stuff out there offensively and defensively she do Dirty Work offensively and defens L um and third is I want to see that jumper a little bit more I like the way it look you know what I like the way it look especially from the mid-range and and they back up off of her I think she can get like two to four easy baskets with those jumpers uh because they backing up off of because they getting their self prepared for the paint so it's pretty much it is what you it is what it is with Angel right there right now at this point you know it's almost at the end of the I think most of the work is going to happen at the end of the oh yeah we forgot to men we said it last game kick the hell out out of traps IQ absolutely I I kick out that's I forgot about that you gotta kick out when you getting traps because at this point in the season you got to know that trap is coming yeah you gotta know I swear this sound crazy but I just think she got that mindset you ever play a 21 or or 32 with like 15 people on the court bro you it don't matter people boom go up go up that's that's type that's what it reminds me of she just going up every time bro she a beast but she got to be smarter though that don't mean it's right she just got to be smarter that's a fact hey crazy times but overall though this is a game that uh we haven't talked a lot about Kennedy Carter how you guys been feeling about Kennedy since the break we know that she came in with the injury hasn't quite been herself yet uh I say this like to me from the break till now and the little glimpses that we've seen seems like Kennedy Carter's a lot locked in more defensively than what she has been Absolut that's a great observation absolutely that's something I noticed too uh she definitely been trying harder I think that that's an attestment to Teresa Weatherspoon who I call Kennedy Carter's buffer because I don't think if any other coaches on this team I think she'll probably be off this team or traded or something so uh I thank Teresa Weatherspoon for that she had start this second half of the season a little sick uh I think she been coming she had 19 what 1921 last game 19 19 19 points that's Kennedy right there you know and and and I know she got it to it she got a flagrant I'm not bothering that attitude at all I love it it' be different if she got a flagrant every other game like she was Draymond or something like K is a passionate player and there was clearly something personal Marina maber I like I like the foul I like the foul though I like the real talk you gonna leave us oh Bow take that the confence they was really cool they was really cool last like we seen that press conference where they was they was doing T like and then to come back just a Meek ride the goddamn connetic son the way she did I'm pretty sure she did feel way but um yeah but you I do gotta say like I get it but you do got eyes on you and we don't want you to we are you already got a stereotype on you and we just want you to I I just need her to be like BG because BG was just like her in the beginning of the Care maybe you just need to go to dispensary just get some Zen no no because you gota think about it you just got to be controlled at times even it's not even the um the real passionate opponent just like the last game when we was down for just speeding up the court gota get a layup calm down you just need to calm down in certain situations like and she's so competitive and she knows she's a guaranteed bucket so she gets away with that but when she realize she's way better under control that's gonna unlock another part of her game that we ain't even seen yet and she's always going to be passionate right I think the thing that Kennedy allows herself to do sometimes is let the passion get a little bit better of her channel that in like if she ever can learn to channel that passion in to focus like you a't like play solid defense I'm not even mad at you giving giving the elbow from time to time we talk we talk very often that's a common thing in basketball right but the thing that you want to see sometimes from Kennedy is just for her not to get so caught up in the moment that the passion overrides the sensibility and if she can get that like like like we all know what Kennedy Carter I have no doubt about it now if she's a full-time starter next year for the Chicago Sky which she should better damn well be she could be top five in the league and scoring we know that Kennedy has that that capability I don't even I don't even have any doubts she can be top five to top 10 in scoring and and we we will absolutely need that especially if we get an actual point guard in here next to her so no doubts about the Kennedy's ability but I just look at how Kennedy can take her game to the next level with a little bit more Focus cuz she has all the tools to make up of being a solid on ball defender in the WNBA so and you see glimpses and flashes of that I'm not saying she'll ever be locked down I'm saying that she could be solid with what she's able to do offensively if she put channels that passion defensively into let me not let me not put you on your ass let me stop you for making this bucket and I'm G smile at you when I give it back to you on the other side if she can focus on that you're talking about a player that the sky's the limit for Kennedy Carter that's absolutely right because we seen it we seen it through mple fastes of players out the multitude of sports because like I said Britney grinder was the same way she used to be getting into with everybody in then she calm down she chanle it and I'm just gonna bust your ass and make make a face and I'mma get back on defense Chris Paul Chris Paul was [ __ ] Russell Westbrook they used to be but they channeled it and they do it sparingly that's all we need and that's the thing about Kennedy that's why she's we are locking her because we're allowing her just to be her we're not telling her not to be passionate we're just saying control that passion that's all we saying yeah and and to tell you the truth I think we should just an embrace the bad guy role as a Chicago Sky embrace it I don't give a damn I don't care if nobody like me I don't care about a billion tweets uh ignorant tweets a billion ignorant tweets about the ladies on this team embrace it y'all want to be us be the bad guys all right we the bad guys now oh yeah y already play hard listen listen this guy team is a point guard away like if they you got two draft picks and you got money in free agency like keep in mind the salary cap in the WNBA is $1.5 million we got a million dollars in salary cap next year we could technically probably out offer anybody for any major free AG I'm not expecting me to do that because we're far away but the thing is if you get a point guard and a wing in here that can stretch the floor if you get those two things this offseason man listen I I I'll kill myself if satu came to the team in a POS excited asell get D oh and then oh get she she's she is free agent oh my God you want to talk about the most hated team in sports oh my God I I highly doubt they let D go but if they were to get D Carrington bro like they a they ain't got the money like we do that's the thing that's that's a fact I mean that's a fact so we'll see what happens with that one but uh yeah I just this Sky team that if you this guy team goes out and gets what we all know that they need and they've been severely lacking it's it's it's academic at that point like like so we'll see what happens man I I I like what we've done so far like to I think people forget we're less than a year away from a total Reb two total rebuilds we tried to rebuild on the Fly after Candace Parker and everybody left to keep this team competitive that team suffered injuries we lost James Wade we then rebuilt again this past offseason to go younger and at this point now you know that you got Camila you know you got angrew you know you got Kennedy you got still Rachel bam under contract next season as well and yeah and and uh uh Mariah Jefferson but like so you have a really an open canvas to really paint what you want and so nobody's expecting us to go from where we are now to Contender next year but there's no reason to believe that if the sky don't play free agency right and get the right players in the draft that we can go from a team that's flirting with making the playoffs to a team that's adamantly making the playoffs and then the season after that we still got two first round picks this is the time and who we playing today is the perfect person to copy they buil through the draft and they just made a couple free agent signers to complete that whole goddamn team because like I said they got Asia then they got Jackie and because um uh the the San Antonio spars went under that became Vegas they got Kelsey with that so that's all bought in teams that they got together versus like a New York who traded for them to have they team o if only I love that that's for Hall of Famers right there they got over there the head of that snake but yeah that would be a great uh template to to copy your team over I love it yes and it took them a minute as well like if you look at how long it took to become this dynasty it took about two to three years yeah who coming out in 2026 Brooke who is who is coming out 20266 is supposed to be solid draft I'm
