Jordan Love Injury Breakdown: MCL Sprain & Timeline for Return

what is up YouTube it's your host P bringing you our first video on this channel I'm very excited to kick things off and as the season progresses expect multiple videos here every week breaking down injury analysis film review and much more make sure to drop a like And subscribe to the channel if you are new now for our first video we're going to be discussing Jordan Love's leg injury that he sustained in the fourth quarter of Friday night's loss to the Eagles this happened in Brazil and unfortunately he had to fly all the way back here and wait till this morning to get MRI results but we're going to be breaking those down and as well as the recovery time for Jordan love now first things first when he was tackled I'm going to show the video right here you see that his ankle was twisted up as well and that was the initial thought maybe like high ankle sprain or something like that but that has been ultimately ruled out which is great news now on further review of the video you can see his leg his knee specifically pop and that was the big concern whether it was an ACL tear meniscus tear and even you know maybe a kn cap this location however when Jordan love got back here to the United States this morning you could see him walking off the plane he was walking gingerly but he did not need assistance which is a great news that and the fact that he did not need to be carded off great factors right there now the MRI results came back about 2 hours after and they indicated that there was no ACL tear but there is an MCL sprain which again is likely to be the best case scenario now there was no grading given out it goes from grade 1 to three with three being the most severe however we did not get that information when the MRI results came out likely though he's looking around 3 to four weeks recovery it's all going to depend on the next couple days and how that recovery processes and what I mean is the swelling that's going to be a huge indication that this is going to be a longer term injury if it starts going down in a couple days expect love to only be out maybe 2 to 3 weeks and on the flip side if the swelling doesn't go down it stays inflamed you know this time next week we can expect maybe up to 6 weeks for him to be out however based on the video based on analysis everything we're hearing I'm thinking 3 to four weeks now in the meantime Malik Willis is going to be the backup for Green Bay they don't have another healthy quarterback as Sean Clifford has suffered an injury and he is on the practice squad right now if I'm not mistaken but he's no good to play I do want to make a quick note that even if is a Grade Three the most severe with MCL sprains you're not really going to see surgery happen and doctors are going to tend to let the player heal on their own now as far as comparisons to past cases we saw Ben rothberger miss four weeks with the same injury we also saw Kenny picket Miss no time with the same exact injury again it really depends on how the next couple days go and as far as how the swelling looks this time next week but again if you're a Packers fan this is great news probably the best case scenario your season is not over he's going to be coming back in a couple weeks I'm going to put the schedule up so you can take a look at it now but again this is great news now that's going to go ahead and wrap up this video expect an update from us within the next week so make sure you are subscribed to the channel so you don't miss out thanks again for tuning in and I'll continue to polish our video and editing skills so we can get these out quicker to you guys appreciate the support we'll see you next time
